Keeping Allie (Breaking Away #3)

“All the way. I want all of you, Chase,” I whisper in his ear as he lowers his head, curling his hips. I press my knees into the sides of him and we change angles just so.

Now he’s really with me. In me. I am his and he is mine.

We are as joined as two bodies can be.

He moves so that our chests push together, his rhythm slow and controlled at first. I thought this would hurt more. It’s breathtaking, and I have to remember to breathe. The feel of so much of his body entwined in mine is overwhelming.

  But not at all uncomfortable.

A glow begins deep inside and as he pulls out and then moves back in, the feeling becomes more pleasurable. It’s as if the glow is pulsating and making me feel softer. Melting. The sensation builds and I reach down, grasping his ass, urging him deeper. Faster.

  More.

  I want more.

  I want it all.

“You okay?” he murmurs against my neck. “I don’t want to hurt you.”

“It doesn’t hurt,” I say, astonished by my own words. “It’s...full.”

His low laugh makes the glow burn brighter. “I want it to be perfect,” he admits.

“Oh, it is,” I say with a sigh. Chase pulls back and looks at me, moving steadily in and out.

  I’m his.

That glow deep inside grows. It spreads and swells, like a tiny ripple in the vast ocean that turns into a tsunami. We are nothing but skin and sweat, kisses and murmurs, movement and pulse. I lose track of where my body begins and Chase’s ends, and he starts to tense, his body shaking slightly, his breath quickening.

“Oh, Allie,” he rasps, his voice vulnerable and powerful at the same time. “Are you ready?”

Ready for what? I think just as he pushes harder and deeper, the pain driving all my breath out of me, filling me with a glorious shockwave that radiates out into the ocean, across continents, through time and space. Chase says my name over and over like he can’t stop, and his back arches up, ass like marble under my hands. I can’t stop digging my fingers into his back, as if I need to cling to him.

I’m falling, loose and untethered, through an eternal love that has no end.

I don’t know how much time passes before I become hyperaware of everything. The brush of Chase’s breath on my sweaty neck gives me a chill. The soft burning feeling between my legs. The ache of one hip. The tightness of my burn scar against his rib. I swallow and hear my throat click. I’m parched. We’re stuck together at the hip with slickness and loose flesh. Chase just breathes, slow and steady. His lips move, kissing the hollow of my neck.

I let my legs go slack. I feel like every emotion has been exorcized from me. I am nothing but now.

He slides out of me, the feeling strangely welcome and disappointing at the same time. Rose petals are stuck to my body in random places. One happens to cover one of my nipples perfectly. Chase turns away from me and looks down. His hand moves and—oh. He’s taking care of the condom. Funny how reality intrudes.

And yet it doesn’t. Reality is about being taken care of. He’s being real. Real is so much better than any alternative.

He turns back and looks at me and bursts into laughter.

“That’s one hell of a nipple you got there,” he says.

“Like it?” I pluck another petal off the bed and put it on my other nipple. “There. Now I match.”

His face goes serious and loving. “You feel all right?”

“All right?” I gasp, sitting up. “All right? That was just supposed to be ‘all right’?”

“Well,” he says with a funny look on his face. “I was hoping for ‘the best sex ever in the history of mankind’, but...”

“Achievement unlocked,” I say, reaching up for a kiss. He stretches out, the movement catlike, and soon we’re making out, naked and sweaty, the ocean a steady pulse on the wind.

“I love you, Allie,” Chase says. “And I don’t ever want to be apart again.”

“Me too and me either,” I say. I turn over on my belly and look out the screened window at the ocean. At some point, the moon decided to peek out from under the clouds. The white foam of the surf looks like cotton. Like softness.

  Like comfort.

Chase’s warm palm comes to rest on my ass, sliding up my spine to rest on my shoulder. He joins me on his belly, too.

“You’re amazing,” he says, stroking my hair.

“This is amazing,” I say, pointing to the water.

  “We’re amazing,” he adds.

“And now I’m home,” I say, turning to him.

“Forever,” he says as he leans in for a kiss.
