Pepper (Freedom MC)

Ghost looks at Wolf. “What do you want to do now?”

“Like I said before, we will wait for her call, and decide what to do then.”

“Should we at least talk to Crystal?”

“No, not yet. I still want everyone to think Pepper is still here until we know exactly what’s going on. Someone may get suspicious if we ask for her.”

“Okay, I think I will go over some more footage to see if we missed something else.”

“Good. I'll be in my office until she calls, which better be soon.”

I go back to my office and punch the wall. If she gets hurt, I'll lose it. I'm not sure what happened but Pepper has wiggled her way past my barriers and I have fallen for her. I'll do anything to keep her safe, but I'd rather have her with me.

My cell rings after what feels like the span of my life. I answer the unknown number before it gets a second ring. “Hello?”

“Hey honey, it’s me Pepper. Bane is letting me call now. We have a little more to travel.”

I want to yell at her for leaving. Rather, I manage to hold back that part of me and try a softer approach. “Are you okay, sweetheart?”

“Yes, they've been very considerate. I know you didn't want me to leave with them. The Dwellers are not what you think and they aren't the ones after you. I asked about Moose and they said it wasn't them. He did what he did on his own and will be taken care of. I don't want to know what that means. I only have about ten minutes to talk, so I'll talk quick. To make a long story short, there's a MC trying to align with others to take out your chapter. No one is certain who is behind it. From what Hitch has found out, you have a mole. Someone from the Freedom MC has been talking and one of Hitch’s guys just happened to be in the right place at the right time. He overheard I was going to be used against you, so he pulled me out. Crystal should be able to help answer questions if you need some more. Please don't do anything to her. She's been trying to help everyone.”

"What made you trust them? They could've been the ones planning to kidnap you and are manipulating you." She's too innocent to think different.

"I'm not that naïve. I promise. I trusted them for the same reason I trusted you. Instincts. For the most part, mine have always worked for me. I wasn't wrong about you and I don't think I'm wrong about Crystal and the Dwellers."

If she trusts them, then I need to do the same. Pepper may be the craziest, bravest damn woman I ever met. "Baby, please be careful. I promise no one is going to hurt Crystal. When can you call me again?"

“Not anytime soon, Bane said that we'll be out of cell service where we're going.”

“What about your meeting?” That's not something that's priority for me but it is for her.

“Bane will take me if nothing has been resolved and then back to where I'll be staying. Don't worry, it seems there will only be me, a lady, and two men from the Dwellers.”

“Fine, I'll go along for now, but I don't like you being away from me.”

“I'm already missing you, so I know what you mean. Oh yeah, if Bane has to take me to the meeting, I'll be able to call you then."

“I really want to be the one to take you, so we can spend some time together.” I want to do everything with her and every second I miss with her will be taken out on whoever is after my Chapter. My family.

“I know. Bane is telling me I have to get off the phone. He wants to talk to you first.” She doesn't say goodbye before Bane's voice comes over the line.

“Hey man, just want to let you know we'll take good care of her.”

“You better, or you will be very sorry if anything happens to her.”

He laughs. “Yes, you’ve said that. Talk to you later.”

I throw my cell down on the desk. I know I need to get my act together. We need to find the mole. We need to find out which MC wants to take over our territory, and why. First things first—find the mole. Since everyone is a suspect, I'll let each member in on a need to know basis. I can rule out Ghost. He wouldn't have brought the footage to my attention or let me know Pepper had left. Crystal is good. Funny how I can trust the newest person in our club more than anyone else. Shooter can be trusted, too. I need to get them in my office to talk.

  Chapter Tweny-Three

  Pepper…Sneaking out of the club

There are two guys from the Dwellers waiting for me to walk through the fence. I hand my suitcase, overnight bag, and pillow to one of the guys. He puts my stuff in the back of the huge black pickup truck. Swallowing down a mouthful of air, I get into the vehicle, hoping I've made the right choice. The two guys get in the front, and we're on our way.

Looking out the window as we're driving, I check things out for a while, then, bored, I start working on my iPad. At least forty-five minutes have passed and it’s so quiet, I can’t stand it. “I guess you two know my name is Pepper. What are your names?”

The biker who looks like a kid answers, “I'm Wheels, and this is Decker. I'm a prospect. He just got patched in.”

“It’s nice to meet both of you. Wheels, you must be a really good prospect to have earned a nickname before you're patched in.”

Wheels turns his head and grunts. “Not a nickname. It’s my last name. I don’t like my first name.”

“Oh, sorry. So, Decker you must've got your name because you like to get decked out all the time?” I say, trying not to giggle.

“Darling, are you trying to be funny? Decker means exactly what you think it is. Punch, strike, and hit hard. I'm very good at what I do.”

“I know your nicknames are not funny. They are somewhat earned.” I guess my quirky sense of humor isn't working with them.

I settle in for the ride and after a little while, I feel the vehicle slowing down. We turn off the road into a rest area. Two more men are waiting for us. Both guys have a Dwellers cut on. Wheels gets out of the vehicle to talk to them. I have no idea what is being said—it seems to be about me because they keep looking in the direction of the vehicle. One of them has a patch with VP on it. The other one doesn’t have a special patch. Wheels nods at the VP, who moves toward the pickup. He climbs in and nods his head at me.

I catch a better view of him as he gets in the truck. He reminds me of Kris Holden, the guy who plays Dyson in the Lost Girl series. He's about the same height, but has a lot more muscles. He has the dark sandy blond hair, with striking, chestnut brown eyes. Just like the character in the TV show, he's a predator, and just as good-looking.

He turns to Decker. “Let’s go. Drive.” Then he turns around to look at me. He doesn’t speak as he checks me out. I’m shocked at the lustful stare. Feeling awkward, I lift my hand. “Hi.”

His stare hardens into more of a glare and then he averts his gaze.

Well, that's rude. “Hey biker man, my name is Pepper. What's yours? Glare?”

He turns back around, not amused. “No, sweetness, its Bane, as in misery."

Far from letting him intimidate me, I continue to talk. “Well, I can tell we're going to be the best of friends.”

I work hard to get him to talk, so while we're traveling, Bane finally fills me in on what he can tell me. We also discuss my job. He offers to take me to the meeting if things are not cleared up by then. Another hour passes by. “Pull over here,” Bane tells Decker.

When the truck comes to a stop, Decker gets out. Bane hands me a phone. “This is a burner. You can call Wolf—his number is coded under W. You have ten minutes to talk. We have another two hours of driving. There will not be any cell service where we're going.”

After we both have talked to Wolf, we get back on the road. I find out we're heading for a small town outside of Memphis, Tennessee. The rest of the drive is so quiet, I fall asleep. When I wake, I'm feel a little better. I didn't realize how much sleep I've been losing. Still having another thirty minutes to go, we stop in Memphis to stock up on supplies for the stay.

After getting the supplies, we drive through the mountains, and it's magnificent. We pull up to the most gorg
eous log cabin, and I cannot believe my eyes. I get out of the car and just stand there, taking in the amazing structure.

Bane walks up behind me. “What do you think?”

I turn around and whisper, “It's beautiful.”

Looking down at me, he smiles. “Yes, one of the prettiest I've seen in a long time,” he says softly.

I blush, while talking to his chest. “You shouldn't say things like that to me.”

“Can’t help it if it’s true.” He hooks a finger around my chin and makes me look at him.

We stare at each other for a second, then I decide ignoring him is the best way to go, so I grab my electronics and start toward the cabin. While Bane and Decker get the rest of my luggage and the supplies from town, I go on in.

A lady comes running out of the kitchen. When she sees me, she puts on a disappointed look on her face. She quickly changes it to a smile. “Hi there, my name is Mary.”

“Hi, Mary. My name is Pepper. You must be Crystal's mom. She told me you weren't the one in the nursing home.”

“Yes, honey, I am. Hitch's mom is the one in the nursing home. Is Crystal all right? I've been worried about her and haven’t talked to her for over three weeks.” She’s clearly even more worried than she's letting on.

“She's fine. She’s the reason I'm here. She sent a letter in case I ended up at the same place with you.”

“Oh, thank you so much. Please excuse me.”

Mary runs off to what I guess is a bedroom. The guys just got through bringing all the stuff in. Standing in the middle of the living room, I take in the beauty of the cabin also on the inside. It looks like the place has two stories, with the bottom having an open concept. All the rooms connect, making it feel real homey. Right in the center of the room is a big wood-burning fireplace with river rock going up the wall and a huge wooden mantel. If it were any other circumstance I would love getting to stay at this cabin.

Decker takes the supplies into the kitchen as Bane waits for me to notice him standing in the room. I nod at him. “You ready to show me the bedroom I'll be staying in?”

  “Right this way, sweetness.”

I follow him up the steps to what looks like three bedrooms and a bathroom. We walk to the last door. Bane opens it for me and I walk in. The room is charming, just like I pictured a cabin style bedroom would look like. A queen size bed made of wood with a quilt bedspread sits against one of the walls. To the side I see a small closet for clothes and a dresser. Also, I spot a small writing desk by the window. This is the best room anyone could hope for to get writing done.

I turn around, smiling, and almost bump into Bane. “This is a great room. I love it.”

He sucks in his breath. “I'm glad you like it.”

“Just sit my stuff on the bed. I'll put it away in a few.”

He puts the bag on the bed. “Okay, babe, I'll see you later.”

  “Are you leaving?”

“Yes, Decker and a Prospect named Joe will be here if you need anything. I'll be back to check on you all around Thursday.”

I settle in and decide to make the best of the next few days by getting writing in. If I put my mind in my words, then I might not worry so much about Wolf and everyone at the club.

  Chapter Tweny-Four

  Pepper

Finally, Thursday is here. I'm dying for Bane to show up. I need to know what's happening. Being at the cabin has been great for my writing—I could finish another book in no time here, but I want to leave. Decker and I have been talking a lot about the situation and I hope we can stick with the plan if everything hasn't settled already.

Right after lunch, we hear several motorcycles coming up the driveway. Mary and I both want to go out onto the front porch, excited to see whoever pulls up, but we’re a little worried, wondering if it's friend or foe. Decker keeps us inside until he knows it's safe.

Mary and I peep out the window. I can't take my eyes off Wolf. It seems he’s in the same predicament as me as he stares into the window. I don't know how he spotted me so easily. I rush out the door before Wolf can shut off his motorcycle, and launch myself into his arms just as he gets off the thing. He catches me as I jump up and wrap my legs around him, naturally grabbing my ass.

Jerking me toward him, he slams his mouth against my lips. Melting into him while I tighten my grip, I sigh when our mouths lock. It’s like a dueling of the tongues, both violent and sweet. Unaware of our audience, we continue with our hello. Finally coming to my senses, I notice the others smiling, except Bane. Tucking my head in the crook of Wolf's neck, my face burns from embarrassment.

With my nose stuck in his neck, I take a long breath, loving the smell of outdoors, leather, and oil. As I pull back, I look into his eyes while cupping his face. “I missed you so much. It's really good to see you. Can I come back home now?"

He doesn't miss how I said home. Nor do I.

“Baby, you have no idea how much I've missed you. I couldn't wait any longer and insisted on coming to see you when he came back. I can't get what I need done without seeing you first and knowing for sure you’re okay. We made up a road trip for the three of us, and it was easy to bring Crystal. Since everyone thinks you left, I acted like I was sharing her with Shooter.”

I cock my head to the side in deep thought. “What exactly do you mean by sharing?”

“It’s all pretend, so we're not doing anything. The most I do is hug or kiss her cheek. As far as going back, I wish you could, but we still have a problem. We aren’t closer to catching the mole. We can only stay one night.”

I guess that sharing thing would be the best way to keep the other bb’s away from him, especially Roxie. I'm tired of waiting out the mole. Before he leaves tomorrow, I'll let him know I'm done with hiding and will need my car brought to me.

I stare at him. As he watches me, I come to a conclusion. “Well, let’s go make the most of our one night. I can show you my bedroom right now.”

“That sounds like a good plan, baby.” Wolf chuckles.

We run into the cabin like two horny teenagers. He follows me up the stairs to the bedroom. As soon as the door closes, he leans back against it and just stands there, looking at me. I turn to face him. “What's wrong?”

“Nothing, baby. I wanted to take a second and look at you. You're the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. Fucking brave as hell, like no one I've ever met. I can't believe you're mine. Nobody will ever hurt you. I love you with all my heart.”

“I love you too, Wolf." Since the first time you walked up to me and kissed me gently.

Pushing off the door, he stalks over and grabs me to throws me on the bed. Crawling up over me, he places his hands on either side of my body and brings his face above mine. He looks into my eyes, and I can see the desire that mirrors mine. He softly touches my lips, and then devours my mouth. When he pulls back, we are both breathing hard. “Fuck, baby, I've missed your sweet mouth. I cannot wait to taste the rest of you.” He stands up beside the bed and removes his clothes. What a spectacular body he has.

I'm still lying there, with all my clothes on, caught up in looking at him. He smirks. “Do you need some help with your clothes, or you going to stare at me all day?”

“I think I might just do that,” I say with a laugh.

Grabbing me by the legs, he pulls me off the bed, then helps get my clothes off. “Darling, you are so fucking hot, not sure where I want to start. I'm about to die for a taste. Spread your legs for me.”

I lie back on the bed opening my legs for him and I'm already soaking wet. “Hurry up. I need you inside of me now.”

He starts kissing my ankle and works his way up to the point where I'm dying for his mouth on me. He licks up and down between my lips and sucks my nub into his mouth.

I'm gripping the bedding with my fist, while arching my back, grinding my pussy on his mouth, like I can’t get enough. “That feels so good, but I want to come with your dick inside me.”

He lifts his head with a shit-eatin
g grin. “Whatever you fucking want, baby.” He stands up beside the bed. “Turn over baby, and stick your beautiful ass in the air for me. I'm going to fuck you so hard, you'll have a hard time walking.”

As I start to get on all fours, he pushes my head down. This makes my ass stick up even more. “The round globes of your ass are a thing of beauty.”

I turn my head around to see what is taking so long, and get a smack on my butt cheek. This only intensifies the wetness between my legs. “What was that for?”

“For questioning me. Also for taking off without discussing the situation with me.”

“I didn't have time to talk, so I made a quick decision. I'm sorry, but I think I was right. It gave you some time to find out what was going on.”

He smacks the other side, then rams his dick in. “We'll talk later. Baby, right now I'm about to give you the ride of your life.” And he does exactly what he said he would do.

I suck in my breath, because it feels better than I've ever felt. He's in so deep, he's hitting my core. My muscles clamp down on his dick, like a vice squeezing the shit out of him. “Fuck baby, you're so tight. I could fuck you all night. I need to make up for lost time.”

He slams hard into me, and I match his pace with a push of my hips.

I can feel myself tingling. “I'm ready to cum!” Screaming his name, I convulse with a strong orgasm.

He pushes in a few more strokes, grunting loudly, then shoots his seed into me with a mind-blowing orgasm. He flips me over. We lie there trying to catch our breath.

We stay in my bedroom all day, making love several times until it’s time for supper. Right before we go down to eat, I decide to tell him my plans. “I'm not going to hide here anymore. I need you to get my car here before Saturday.”

Before I can say anything else, he looks at me with pain in his eyes. “I don't think that's a good idea right now. I want to keep you safe.”
