Abbey wriggled closer. 'As long as we're together, I don't mind where we live.'

'But knowing you and how much you care about your patients, I imagine you'll want to find a replacement before we can make any firm wedding plans?'

'Actually...' She made a little moue of conjecture. 'It's just occurred to me Wingara might be the ideal set-up for Steve and Catherine.'

They smiled like a pair of conspirators and Nick raised a dark eyebrow. 'So we could get married soon, then?'

'Soonish. I'd like to wait for Catherine to be here.' Thoughtfully, Abbey ran her finger down the front of his shirt. 'I don't have much family...'

'Silly girl—of course you do,' he murmured unsteadily. 'You have me—and our baby.'

A slow, radiant smile lit her face. 'I do, don't I? I love you, Nicholas.'

His eyes closed and when he opened them, the message shone clear. 'And I love you, Abbey Jones.'

And the way he kissed her then convinced Abbey, as no words ever could, that he certainly did.
