“Nothin’ I’d love better,” Buck’s fiancée said promptly.
“Great.” He scooped Jude up and began walking out of the room. He paused in the doorway. “Don’t feel any need to hurry dinner,” he advised his grandfather.
“It’s my five-alarm chili.” Buck grinned. “It’ll keep.”
“Great.” .
“That’s the nice thing about five-alarm chili,” Jude said on a meny laugh as he carried her up the stairs to the spacious addition they’d added onto the house af ter their marriage. “The longer it sirnmers, the better it gets.”
“Then believe me, darlin’, it’s going to get to be champion, blue-ribbon quality tonight,” Lucky promised as he kicked the bedroom door closed behind him.
