“Thank God we own this place,” I said on our last day there. “I didn’t get to see any of the island.”
Jasper laughed and popped a ripe strawberry into his mouth. “Yeah, we were a little preoccupied. We’ll have to bring Rod with us next time. That way we won’t be able to hide in our bedroom all day.”
“That would be fun,” I said, running a hand across his toned chest. “Though, I don’t mind hiding in our bedroom all day.”
I looked up at him. At his sharp profile and bright blue eyes. At the strand of dark hair that curled in the humidity, making him look like a dark James Dean. And I realized, not for the first or last time, how lucky I was. Jasper was mine.
Jasper swept my hair behind my ear and pressed a kiss to my forehead. “Luckily, we have plenty of time for both.”
