She laughed. “I thought I was.”

He chuckled with her but shook his head. “Help me to lay back. I want to taste you.”

Rafer watched with satisfaction as the golden striations in her emerald eyes seemed to flash at his words. Parker nodded, licked her lips, and slowly let go of his cock. He saw her palm was wet with his fluid, and he inclined his head toward her hand. “Are you wearing panties?”

  “No,” she breathed.

  “Touch yourself with that hand.”

He saw her swallow, either with nerves or with arousal, but she spread her legs, then, with her clean hand, tugged her skirt upward and slid her other palm over the curve of her bared sex. He could scent that she’d cleaned off since she and Knox had touched each other, but his twinling’s essence was still there, and rather than piss him off, the brand stirred him to make a mark of his own on his mate.

As her pre-cum loaded fingers slid through her sex, he sensed the air change around them as her pussy took on his essence as well. It seemed to get stronger as she let her legs fall wider apart, knees touching the bed as she began to rub her clit before sliding her fingers into her hungry cunt.

With her free hand, she lifted her thin shirt and cupped a breast, pinching the nipple as she jacked off in front of him.

He watched as she began to pant, her tits jiggling with the force of her breathing. Her hips began to rock, jerkily, shaking the bed in a way that would usually cause him pain but at the moment made him feel nothing more than turned on at the sight of the frenzy into which she was working herself.

Grabbing her wrist and bringing her fingers to a standstill, he raised it to his own lips and groaned as liquid Parker filled his senses. He supped from the digits, laving each and every one with his tongue as he drowned in an essence he hadn’t tasted for two long annals.

“Griljerrd, how did I wait? How did I go so long without tasting you?”

His words were muffled against her fingers, but she understood because her reply was a soggy laugh. “I don’t know. How did you wait?”

“Lukcin duty,” he grumbled, and then groaned in pain as he tried to sit up and move forward onto his knees.

“Hey,” she chided, immediately swinging around and pushing him back onto the bed. She leaned over him, warm hands pressing into his belly and so Griljerrd close to his cocks he wanted to scream. “You’re not supposed to move.” She winked at him. “I, on the other hand, can.”

She rucked her skirt up above her waist this time, baring her lower half to him. The lack of curls shielding her sex made him groan, the dewy petals between her legs, and the luscious scent filling the air had him swallowing back his need. He was trembling by the time she straddled his hips. She bridged her fingers with his, pinned them down on either side of his body, and murmured, “Don’t let me put any weight on you, okay? It’ll feel better if I don’t bear down.”

Blindly nodding because his eyes were otherwise engaged—staring at her juicy cunt took precedence over anything else—he whispered, “I will.”

As soon as she heard the words, she moved. And sparks shot behind his eyelids. He groaned, head falling back as her parted pussy lips, wet and plump, trailed up and down the length of his primary shaft. Every inch of his cock, every part of the throbbing, urgent muscle, was embraced by heaven.

His scent permeated the air, marrying itself to hers, as salty drops of pre-cum began to escape his shaft, and it was just the cherry on the cake, as he’d heard Parker say once.

Above him, his mate’s tits jiggled and swayed as she rocked back and forth, using his cock to get herself off, ensuring that with every rock of her hips, his hard dick kissed her clit. Her moans filled his ears, her glorious body consumed his vision, his nose was touched by the most delicious perfume, and his hands were clenched in hers, tight knots that locked them together. Only his mouth was free from the party, and he rectified that by saying, “Lean down closer.”

With a little pleasure-filled sigh, she complied, and bent low enough that her tits swayed in front of his face. She slowed down so he could latch onto one crimpled patch and nibble against the erect peak. Her moans sent fire coursing through his veins, and he grunted as she moved her butt in a way that had his cockhead almost pushing into her pussy. The muscles in his belly strained with the force of his need, and he knew that if he didn’t stop this soon, that if he let her carry on, he’d take her. He’d fuck her even though neither of them were ready for the consequences.

He tore a hand from hers and slipped it between the two of them. As she moved upward, he plunged three fingers into her hungry cunt. Her head flung back when she screamed, but she continued to ride him, hips working at a pace that almost had him frothing at the mouth. When she came, her pussy muscles clamping down on his fingers, the beautiful perfume of her climax surrounded him, and his cock burst in reaction, endless droplets of cum spasming out of his shaft, coating her cunt, branding her as his, marking her with every pheromone he possessed in his body.

She rode him until both of them were panting, sweating messes, their climaxes prolonged as their bodies recognized this was the first homecoming for two annals. She fell forward, but managed to catch herself before she slammed into him. If her muscles were anything like his, fried to a crisp, it was no wonder she groaned as she slumped over to the side of him. Face first.

He grinned at her, then grinned harder when she grumbled, “You’d better not be laughing at me.”

  “As if I would.”

She snorted. “I did all the work. Is it any wonder I’m frazzled?”

“Roll onto your back,” he murmured. “Let me do some of the work.”

Parker did as bade but mumbled, “If you think I’m good for anything else now, then you’re mistaken, babe.”

“If you think I’m good for anything else, then you expect miracles. I couldn’t even get out of bed without a hover chair two deyas ago,” he teased.

Her eyelids were still glued together, but she pried one open to study him. “Okay, what are you going to do to me then?”

“What every Shuzon male has to do to his mate?”

She cocked a brow in confusion, then groaned, apparently realizing what he was about. “Not what Knox does? I thought that was just some weird thing he did.”

“Depends. What’s the weird thing he does?”

“Rubs his cum into me when he thinks I’m asleep.”

He laughed. “Oh, well, I won’t wait until you’re asleep.”

“No? That’s just too kind of you,” she mocked. “He does it sometimes when I’m awake, and it’s pretty hot, then other times he does it when I’m asleep, like he has to hide it from me. What the hell’s that about anyway?”

“You mean to tell me you’ve been together sixty annals and you haven’t asked him?”

“He doesn’t do it every time, or at least, if he does, I don’t realize it. And no, I’ve never asked him.”

  “Why the olan not?”

She shrugged, then yawned. “I just figured it was an alien thing.”

“Well, you got that right. You know how good our sense of smell is, yeah?”

“Knox says he can sense when I’m ovulating. Or if I’m pissed off.”

“Body functions and moods are something we can scent, but we can also sense marks.”

“Do you mean to tell me that all these annals, Knox and now you have been scenting me with your cum so that other Shuzon can tell I belong to you?” she shrieked. “Your own nose is one thing, not the rest of the goddamn hotel, too!”

His grin broadened at her horrified gasp. “More than that, maja, we’re branding you. Every lukcin Shuzon inside this dome will know who you belong to.

  “That’s the Shuzon way.”

  Chapter Nine

Her left eye still twitched at that arrogant assertion ten deyas later. The Shuzon way was to mark her, brand her, like Earth dogs had used to do to trees to mark their territory.

She was not a tree. And even if she were, she
didn’t want to be pissed on. Metaphorically or not.

Grumbling at the highhandedness of alien cultures, alien cultures that even after six decades she didn’t and couldn’t understand, Parker glanced through the reception desk’s comm unit in search of the final list of diners attending her impromptu dinner party that evening. It wasn’t exactly her dinner party, but she was the one arranging it, and the one who had had to organize all the staff into getting everything ready.

What could she say? She was an organizer, not a doer.

The party was a celebration of the Royters’s party agreement to allow outside investment for one principal dome to be built on the planet, one that would increase the square footage of usable territory by a third.

It was an exciting coup for Knox, because Royters had also agreed that, as the main backers and the owners of the main attraction on the planet, they could increase the hotel’s plot by half. Within the next three annals, Madison Hotel would be the size of the Texan panhandle.

A smile quirked along her lips, and she wouldn’t deny, it was one of pride. Both for herself and for Knox as well. He was a merchant, born into this life. He’d always known that success was in his future, and he’d superseded his parents and his own expectations by creating a complex as complex as this one. He’d made the Baxx name internationally renowned, and in more ways than just the hospitality industry.

So, in that regard, she was proud of him. What he’d achieved, and the way he smashed through barriers anyone threw up, and figured out a way around them…case in point, with the new government on Madison. He’d steamrolled them into following his plan, and successfully so.

But more than that, it still astounded her that while Knox had built this place, it was founded on her ideas.

In many ways, Earth had been backward to the Federation. There had been no proper space travel, no equipment that could take them from one planet to another. Each nation had still had its own governing body. Wars had still broken out over territory. The numbers had been out of control—the planet had been grossly overpopulated.

To the Federation, Earth had been medieval to the advances of this society. But, in ways of pleasure, Earth was light-annals ahead.

She still found it hard to believe that places like water and theme parks didn’t exist. In a world where virtual was the way to go, be it a virtual walk with a virtual dog for a change of scenery, or a galactic space battle where a pock-marked seventeen annal old was the General in charge…everything was done via comm units.

Physical entertainment was a huge market. And people paid big time to actually do things. The irony of it still made her scratch her head even though she’d been a part of this society for a long time now.

By the end of the twenty-first century, when virtual reality had just started to take a real foothold on society, theme parks had still existed on Earth. They’d been insane, the rides crazy huge and attracting people, as they always had done, out of the fear factor. But in Federation nations, amusements took place in the home with the help of a jack link into the EtherLine—their psyched-up version of the Internet.

Parker’s memories of life back on Earth had made Madison Hotel what it was. The resort, with its multi-faceted layers of entertainment, were all down to her. Even the way the guests were treated, from a chocolate on the pillow and a complimentary bathrobe in the bathroom, these were alien concepts in even the most luxurious of resorts in the Federation.

The old-fashioned ways of Earth had helped her create a hotel that, even as astoundingly large as it was, had a twenty-percent vacancy rate. That meant eighty percent of their rooms were full at any given time. The numbers alone astounded her. Knox wanted the rate to go up another ten percent, but she wasn’t as greedy.

She grinned at the thought, then jumped when someone patted her on the ass. Parker spun around, astounded by the audacity, then saw Rafer standing there, looking proud as punch. Her irritation immediately disappeared, and she snapped, “What the hell are you doing out of bed?”

He blinked at her, but his smile widened. “You can’t keep me locked up there forever, maja.”

She glared at him, then quickly took a look around reception to make sure no one had overheard him. “Don’t make out like I’ve been tying you to the bed posts.”

“I wish,” he retorted, far too fervently.

Shocked out of her tirade, she blinked. “Seriously?”

He jerked a shoulder. “I’m up for anything.”

“Don’t challenge me,” she warned. “Knox knows he can’t dare me to do anything, because I’ll try to do it.”

“I look forward to it, maja.”

She narrowed her eyes at him. “Don’t think you’ve taken my mind off track completely. I still want to know why you’re up and about. The doctor said you have to take it easily. You’re not one-hundred percent.”

Rafer snorted. “No. Just ninety-five. The bandages are off my face, my hip isn’t as sore, and I’m getting there, Parker. I swear to Griljerrd. I’ve been back on duty feeling worse than this.”

“Don’t tell me things like that,” she retorted with a shudder.

He sighed and patted her on the shoulder, then gently slid his hand down and pulled against him. “You can’t wrap me up in cotton wool, love.”

She smiled against his shirt. “I like it when you use my endearments.”

  “Don’t change the subject, darling.”

Parker grinned up at him. “I’m not. I just like the words, that’s all. Knox uses Shuzon endearments, so it’s nice to hear them, and I like that you mean them too, maja.”

He wrinkled his nose. “Females are majas.”

She laughed. “What are men, then?”

  “Magas.”

“Okay, maga, I don’t want to wrap you up in cotton wool, but I don’t want you working when you’re not ready for it. You need your rest. Christ, I’ve never known anyone take as long to heal as you did. Not since my life back on Earth. You can’t lie to me and tell me that amount of time was normal.”

“No, it wasn’t. But Parker, if I rest anymore, I’m going to go out of my mind.” When she sighed, her glum face had him chucking her under the chin. “Fancy showing me around this resort of yours?”

“I’m supposed to be preparing for a dinner party this notte.”

He cocked a brow. “What kind of dinner party?”

“With the reigning powers of Madison government.”

  “How come?”

“It’s a celebration. Knox has just struck a deal with them.”

“Do you need to be on hand to organize the meal?”

“No.” She waved a hand. “Everything is in control, really. I can just check at the last minute to make sure nothing has gone wrong.” She slipped her fingers through his and tugged him along. “Come on then, I’ll show you around and explain the deal to you. I still find it hard to believe this is your first time here.”

He smiled. “Thanks, honey. It’s weird to think my home is a hotel now.”

Parker eyed him. “It’s better than barracks though, right?”

“You’ve no idea. I guess I should be used to the thought of living here. I’ve had twenty annals to know this is where I’d be retiring. Seeing the hotel in virtual brochures is nothing to seeing it in life though. This place is epic,” he remarked as she led him out of the reception area and took him down some steps toward a bar that would have easily housed one of his space rovers. Hell, maybe five of them.

“We had to make everything big to ensure that the quarters would never be full. The last thing we wanted was to have rooms with little capacity and leave our guests disappointed. Especially with common room areas like the bars or restaurants.”

“Yeah, but this isn’t the only one, right? You have more than just this place and just the one restaurant?”

“There are several, but each race and nation has their own preferences. And if this bar is full, that particular race might not want to go to another. That means we’ve pisse
d them off and lost their dollars.”

“Ah, I might not be a born merchant, but even I know that’s not good. What’s special about this bar?” he asked, eying the cavernous space.

Dark blue walls that reminded him of the black soup added to the shadows in the room. There was little outsourced light. Save around the banquettes and there, the lights demarcated the seating areas, enabling people to see if they were in use or not. Apart from here, and at the bar where neon lights illuminated the shelves and allowed the bartenders to actually see the bottles, everywhere else was pretty much pitch black.

“Well, the darkness is the selling point here in Bar Azur. Neocranians like darkness, as do Napalmis. We want to attract as many nations as possible, and to do that, we actually have to cater to specific, shared preferences. There are about five different species who have a preference for the dark. Some Shuzons also like it.”

“You catered for such a little amount.”

She snorted. “You wouldn’t believe how much the Napalmis spend in the bars. It was well worth the investment. It’s swings and roundabouts, Rafer. We have to think of the bottom line, but if there is a species renowned for a particular amusement, we go out of our way to create a little haven for them here.”

He nodded his understanding, and let her guide him out of the bar and into an unsheltered piece of land. “Where are we going?” he asked, looking over reams of space that, nevertheless, had around two or so hundred people milling about with sticks in their hands. “There’s nothing here, is there? What are these people doing?”

She smiled. “You’d be surprised at what you can do with just hills. This is something that a lot of people used to do back on Earth. I had the idea of trying to market it to all species of both sexes but specifically, Becas. I know they love Earth grass. We spent a fortune trying to find the correct hybrid that was like grass but easy to keep.” She bent down and touched the ground. “We have an eighteen-hole golf course here.”

“Golf.” He repeated the word as though it were an alien concept. “I might have heard about it from one of the generals.”
