”Are you afraid it wasn’t as good for me?” he asked incredulously, staring down at her. ”Please, look at me, sweetheart.”

She did as he asked. He looked at her with a tender awe in his eyes.

”This was by far, without comparison, the best experience of my life too, Olivia. I didn’t even know this kind of complete fulfillment existed until now.”

  ”Really?” she whispered.

”Really, truly, my love.” He bent down and kissed her tenderly.

Then he made as if to move away from her.

”No, please, stay inside me a little longer,” she protested.

  He obliged her willingly.

”You are amazing beyond words, sweetheart. You have no idea how incredibly special you really are, do you, Olivia?” he asked, astonished. ”Any man would kill to spend just one night with you, and here you are in my arms, giving all of yourself to me in the most beautiful way imaginable, holding nothing back. I don’t understand why, but it’s as if the gods made you especially for me,” he marveled.

”We fit together perfectly, don’t we?”

”Yes, we sure do. As if I needed any more proof you belong with me.”

Without pulling out of her, he spun them around so that she lay on top of him instead. She rested her head on his shoulder, reveling in his scent.

”I wish we could stay like this forever,” she whispered, her fingers exploring the masculine planes of his torso. She felt whole, and she knew that after this she would always feel cut in half when he wasn’t near.

”I do too,” he murmured, kissing her hair. ”I didn’t know I could feel such bliss. Everything I thought I knew, everything I’ve worked so hard to have, feels insignificant compared to this, to having you here in my arms, love.”

She smiled, tears spilling over again.

”I know it’s too early to say this according to convention and sort of the wrong setting maybe, but I can’t hold it in anymore.” He pulled up and took her face in his hands so he could look into her eyes.

”I love you, Olivia. I have fallen utterly, hopelessly, head-over-heels in love with you.”

”Oh, Nate, I love you too, more than I know how to express,” she exclaimed through her tears.

He started kissing her and she forgot how to breathe again. He pulled her down next to him and continued kissing her as if he’d gone an eternity without her kisses. Her heart sang with joy.

They lay there, kissing and talking for hours, everything outside their perfect bubble of happiness forgotten. She felt so content, lying there encircled by his strong embrace.

”Baby, why didn’t you tell me you were a virgin?” he asked at one point.

She squirmed a little and blushed pink.

”You are gorgeous when you blush, love,” he murmured and touched her cheek. ”It’s a great way to distract me, you know,” he smiled. ”But I’m far too eager to hear your answer to let you get away with it this time,” he teased. ”Why didn’t you tell me? I would have been a lot gentler if I’d known it was your first time, sweetheart,” he said, concern in his voice.

”But you were gentle, Nate,” she protested. ”You were perfect, it only hurt a little. And after that it started feeling really good. At the end I lost touch with reality, I think.”

”Yes, I did too. La petite mort, the French call it.” He grinned at her. ”But you still haven’t answered my question.”

”Why didn’t I tell you?” She thought about it for a moment. ”I simply wasn’t brave enough,” she admitted at last. ”I hoped it wouldn’t matter to you, but I was too scared to test my theory,” she confessed. ”I was afraid you wouldn’t want me if you knew.”

He looked at her, genuinely surprised.

”Why on earth would I not want you?”

”Don’t you think it’s a little freaky that I’m twenty-three years old and had never had sex before?”

”It’s unusual, perhaps, but it’s not even a little freaky. It’s beautiful, Olivia. I’m so proud I could burst that you chose me to be your first. It was the most amazing experience of my life, baby.” He kissed the tip of her nose tenderly. ”The only downside for you, my love, is that I will be your first and your only lover. I’m far too selfish to ever let anyone else near you,” he warned.

”That’s okay,” she laughed happily, ”I will never want anyone else,” she said, surprised at how true that was. She couldn’t imagine ever wanting anyone but Nate. It made her so happy to think that he wanted to keep her around. She grinned at him.

”If you ever leave me, I’ll have to join a convent or something,” she joked. ”You’ve spoiled me forever now, Nate, no one else will ever do,” she murmured, suddenly very serious.

”Good,” he said, clearly pleased. ”But if you ever were to run away to join a convent, I would find you and drag you back home with me,” he promised solemnly, but with a mischievous glint to his eyes. ”You’re all mine now,” he added, apparently feeling very pleased with himself.

She laughed. He was incredibly cute, when he glowed with male pride like that.

Suddenly he gently extracted himself from her and stood up. She protested at once and he looked down at her and chuckled.

”Don’t worry, love. I’ll be right back.”

She heard water running in the bathroom and just seconds later Nate reappeared with a wet washcloth in hand. He knelt between her legs and gently pushed her knees apart. Her first instinct was to shield herself but instead she asked him what he was doing.

”I’m going to wipe you clean, sweetheart.”

”No, you don’t have to do that. I can do that,” she said and reached for the washcloth.

”Please, Olivia,” his smoldering gaze held hers, ”I want to. Besides, I’m finding the view down here spectacular,” he wriggled his eyebrows wickedly at her.

  She giggled.

”Okay then,” she said and relaxed back into the soft duvet.

Very gently he started wiping her clean with the soft, warm washcloth and a soft shudder of pleasure ran through her.

  ”Goddamn, you’re pretty!”

She looked down at him, expecting him to be looking back at her, but he was completely absorbed in the task at hand, his eyes drinking in the view down there. He tenderly spread her folds and carefully wiped her clean.

”So beautiful,” he murmured. Then he bent his head and pressed a kiss on her mound. He raised his head and looked at her.

”I’m sorry I made you bleed, baby,” he said softly.

”What? There’s blood?” She raised herself on her elbows and looked down. There was a little blood on the duvet. She started giggling. ”That’s positively medieval. I thought that was just a myth,” she said in wonder.

”Nope, apparently not,” Nate said. ”Does it hurt?” he asked with tender concern.

”No, not really. A little sore, maybe. But you’re a big guy, aren’t you, Nate? I mean it’s not surprising I’m a little sore? You must be bigger than average, not that I have anything to compare with,” her voice trailed off as the member in question stood to attention again in front of her.

  Nate started laughing.

”Baby, you sure do know what to say to make a man happy. My ego is growing to gigantic proportions.” He bent down and kissed her. ”I’ll be right back.”

When he came back he pulled her into his arms and started showering her face with gentle kisses.

”Are you avoiding my question, Nate?” she asked and grabbed his erection. It swelled even more in her hand.

  He swallowed hard.

  ”What was the question again?”

”Are you bigger than average? I want to know if I’ve made a good acquisition here,” she teased.

”Maybe a little bigger than average,” he conceded with a smile. ”Never had any complaints at least,” he gave her a naughty look.

”I bet you haven’t, but this,” she squeezed him hard, ”is all mine now. Every last centimeter - mine,” she said with grim
satisfaction.

  He chuckled.

”Yes, ma’am! Exclusively yours, babe.” He covered her mouth with his own and gently pushed his tongue inside, stroking her tongue with his own. She pressed herself to him.

He groaned deep in his throat.

”Sweetheart, I want to make love to you again but you’re sore so I think we should wait.”

  She sighed with disappointment.

  He chuckled again.

”Don’t look at me like that, I’m trying to be a good boy here.”

”I know. And I appreciate it, I do,” she said. Then she looked at him as a thought came to her. ”Show me how to make you come, Nate.”

He looked at her so tenderly.

”You don’t have to do that, sweetheart.”

”But I want to. I want to play with this,” she moved her hand down the length of his erection and he moaned. ”It feels so good in my hand. I want to learn how to please you.”

”You already do, love, just by breathing,” he murmured. ”But if you really want to I’ll show you.”

  She smiled happily at him.

  ”I do.”

He put his hand around hers and showed her how to stroke him. She caught on quickly and when she felt a little more confident she increased the tempo.

”God, yes, baby, just like that,” he grunted then. He caught her mouth with his and started making love to her with his tongue. She tried hard to concentrate on what she was doing with her hand but it wasn’t easy keeping her focus when he was kissing her like that. She broke away and gasped.

”You can’t kiss me, I can’t concentrate when you kiss me like that.”

He chuckled. And then his hand cupped the heat between her legs instead. He slid a finger between her folds and found the heart of her. He started playing it softly and increased the pressure when she started undulating against his hand.

”I’m close, baby, you sure you want this?” he gasped in her ear.

”God, yes,” she groaned. ”Come in my hand, Nate, please.”

He slid a finger into her and must have found the secret spot there because she felt her insides clenching against his finger as she flew off the edge and at the same time, he cried out and she felt him convulse in her hand and the warm stickiness of him squirted over her hand and onto her stomach.

He gently pulled his finger out of her and held her tight to him as the aftermath of her orgasm had her trembling against him.

”That was so sexy, Nate,” she whispered after a few moments.

  He smiled.

”Yes, off-the-charts sexy, baby. Thank you,” he kissed her forehead.

  ”My pleasure,” she smiled wryly.

He scooped her up in his arms and carried her to the bathroom.

”What are we doing now?” she asked him.

”Now I’m cleaning you off in the shower, sweetheart.”

  * * *

”I like showering with you, Nate,” she said contentedly once she was settled in snuggly at his side on the duvet again. He’d gotten a blanket for her from the bedroom. ”It’s so much more fun than showering alone.”

He laughed softly and kissed the top of her head.

  After a while she asked:

”Nate, how come you don’t have a girlfriend?”

He went very still at once, and then he tightened his grip on her.

  ”I didn’t, but I hope I do now?”

She looked up at him and grinned.

”Yes, you’re mine now,” she smiled. ”But you know what I mean, has there never been anyone before? Both of your brothers are married already, I mean?”

He thought about that for a while.

”Of course I’ve been in a few relationships before. I had my first steady girlfriend when I was seventeen. Her name’s Maria and she’s really sweet.”

Olivia felt a pang of jealousy. He glanced down at her.

”Where is she now?” she asked, trying not to let it show.

  ”She’s back in Tulsa.”

  She inhaled sharply.

”Is she very beautiful?” She had to ask even though she dreaded the answer.

”You know, you’re adorable when you’re jealous, baby,” he laughed softly. ”To answer your question, yes, I’m sure her husband finds her very beautiful. He’s a great guy. They already have two kids. Wouldn’t surprise me if they have a couple more before they’re done.” His voice trailed off as his fingers traced the contours of her clavicle bones, softly like a warm breeze.

”Do you wish it could have been you?” she finally whispered.

”What do you mean?” he murmured, letting his lips make the same trip along her clavicle.

”Do you wish you were the one married to her?”

  He started laughing then.

”Olivia, you impossible woman, did I not just tell you earlier that I’ve never felt this way about anyone until I met you?” He took her face in his hands and locked her gaze with his own. ”I love you more than my own life. You are the very best part of my life now, sweetheart. No one else has ever held my heart like you do. I never expected to feel this way about anyone. Sure,” he continued, drawing her close to him, ”I thought that one day I might want to find a good woman to settle down with and hopefully have a few kids with. But I never dreamed life had this, had you, in store for me.” He kissed the top of her head tenderly.

”You see, Olivia, life has given me so much. I’m a very blessed man, so I didn’t think I would get this, this all consuming love also, on top of everything else. I feel completely undeserving of it, but so, so thankful. I will treasure you for the rest of my life and try to show my gratitude to the universe, by loving you to the very best of my abilities.”

She couldn’t help herself, she started crying again, and searched feverishly for his lips with her mouth. They soon lost control and made love again.

As he was about to enter her, he asked, his voice rough with passion,

”Are you sure you’re not too sore, sweetheart?” tender concern in his eyes.

”I’m fine,” she gasped. ”I want you so much I think I’m losing my mind,” she groaned, and he entered her at that.

  * * *

”God, Olivia, you make me feel like a teenager again,” he said a little while later, as they lay there spent, next to each other. ”I want to take you again and again, it never ends.”

She smiled. She felt overwrought with powerful emotions and snuggled closer to him.

”Baby, how come you never met someone you wanted before me? Not that I’m complaining,” he added, clearly pleased at the way things were.

  She hesitated for a moment.

”I never met anyone I wanted enough to let him this close,” she finally said.

”Now I feel really honored,” he murmured, pride gleaming in his eyes.

”Good,” she said. ”You are the only one who ever broke down all my defenses.”

  He chuckled suddenly.

”All those poor schmucks who must have tried.”

”There were never that many interested,” she objected.

”Yeah, right,” he snorted. ”Not buying that. I told you, I’ve seen the way men look at you. Besides, Markus told me there have been plenty of guys trying but failing. It makes me feel like king of the world!” he joked. ”She chose me, I want to shout it from the rooftops. She said yes to me! Only me!”

She laughed. He looked adorable, all triumphant like that.

”Baby, I don’t know what it is about you, but you bring out the caveman in me. And that’s never happened to me before.”

”What do you mean?” She couldn’t keep her fingers off of him. The need to feel his warm skin beneath her hands was all-consuming.

”I mean that all I want when I’m around you is to throw you over my shoulder and carry you off to my cave. And keep you there. Indefinitely.” He grinned at her.

”Oh. Well, that certainly doesn’t sound very modern. But I’m ashamed to admit I wouldn’t protest that much
if you did do that.” She grinned back at him.

”I thought I was a fairly modern man. I’ve certainly never felt the need to possess someone the way I do with you. All I can think of is to get you barefoot and pregnant in my kitchen.” He growled and nipped at her earlobe with his teeth.

  She started giggling.

”I should be offended by that - I mean I do believe in equal rights and all that. But somehow it doesn’t sound all that bad. Well, that depends, of course.”

  ”On what?”

”Well, do you have a nice kitchen?”

  He started laughing then.

  ”I have no idea.”

  ”What? What do you mean?”

”I never use the kitchen,” he smiled wryly at her.

She pushed herself up on her elbows so she could look at him.

”You never use your kitchen?! Then what do you eat?”

”Well, if I’m not eating out I order takeout but I also have a housekeeper who cooks for me when I’m home and she’s working.”

”You have a housekeeper? Is that standard practice for cowboys?”

  He chuckled.

”No, not that I’m aware of. Now you’re making me feel uncomfortable, let’s change the subject. Maybe if I do this,” he flipped her over and started kissing her neck, right below her ear, ”you’ll stop thinking about my housekeeper.”

”No, I like this subject,” she giggled. ”But you do cook, you made me Carbonara.”

”Well yeah, a man’s gotta be able to cook something for his woman. That’s my seduction meal.” He wriggled his eyebrows suggestively at her.

  She started giggling again.

”Your seduction meal? I see. Well, it worked very well, I must say.”

”I know,” he murmured with a cheeky grin. ”It was worth every last bit of effort, that meal.”

”You know, I could have saved you the effort if I’d only known that’s what that meal was. Don’t you know I was a sure thing already?”

”Oh, no, you were never a sure thing, my love, but you’re worth every last second of the torturous waiting I had to do.”
