by Catherine Coulter

  “You won’t tell me?”

He struck an attitude, one he trusted looked seriously thoughtful. “I will tell you—”

  “Yes?”

“If you’ll remove your hand from where it is. It’s making me perfectly frantic.”

“Ah,” she said and let her fingers slide down his belly to touch him and caress him. He sucked in his breath. She smiled, lightly nipping his chin. “I think I like you frantic, Burke.”

“Don’t you want to know about Victor?” he asked, knowing he was at the very edge.

  “Later.”

He kissed her then, slowly, thoroughly. He paused a moment, his eyes on her breasts.

“Perhaps at breakfast,” she said, her enjoyment clear. “Victor and a rasher of bacon.”

  “That sounds vastly romantic, Arielle.”

“That sounds,” she said, “like a long time away. There is much, Burke Drummond, that you must accomplish before breakfast.”

“Yes,” he said, looking at her from her forehead to her toes. “Now hush, for I am a thorough man and have no wish to be distracted.”

“All right,” she said and pulled him down to her.
