With her eyes blazing, Adrienne turns quickly to face Wilder. “What if I said I did? What are you going to do? Are you going to kill me?” She knew the answer to that. They were both angry, and with every harsh vicious word they spoke to each other it tore them further apart.

Adrienne turned in the direction of the shower. Wilder caught her arm. “I’m sorry Adrienne. I don’t know what came over me. I need you. I need you to reassure me that you’re still mine.”

“I know what came over you. You’re pretending that you’re different than Bane, but you are behaving just like him or worse. I know what he is, but I didn’t know who you were until now.” Wilder stood in one spot repulsed at himself for being insensitive to Adrienne. How could he have said that to her?

Maybe he was that cold hearted werewolf she first met. The one who wandered the woodlands and forests killing his food with the taste of blood in his mouth. He didn’t have that to do. He could have eaten his food cooked like a man, but he got pleasure from the taste of fresh killed meat. Maybe he wasn’t the human he thought he was? He questioned himself and the answer came back. No, he was better than that animalistic part of him, and he would do whatever it took to reign in the werewolf, and be the man that Adrienne wants.

He would sooner die than make Adrienne unhappy, or hurt her. What could he do to make up for all the hurtful things he said to her? He had to do something, but he didn’t know what.

Wilder was still standing in that one spot when Adrienne turned off the water and dried her body and found a robe, placed it over her body, and headed for bed. He was still standing in that one spot when she glanced up at him wondering why he was in that same spot. It was the wolf in him that made him wait patiently.

“What are you still doing here? Haven’t you hurt me enough? Well you have succeeded.”

“I want to kiss you, Adrienne, and I want to hold you close to me.”

“It’s obvious we don’t want the same things.” Wilder stood between Adrienne and the bed. He unbutton the sleeves on his red and black flannel shirt. Adrienne watched with laughter. She scoffed at him as he unbuttoned and dropped the shirt where he stood.

“What are you doing?” She wasn’t laughing for long. She watched at the tilting of his head and his undecided brow, which lifted with uncertainty, but showed confidence. She watched at his wide muscular shoulders with the scars of battle written across his hard bare chest. His mischievous sensuous smile reminded her of the man she loved. He is beautiful, she thought.

“Exactly what you think I’m doing,” Wilder answered in a smooth strong whisper. He kicked off his shoes never taking his eyes off her, as if she’s a deer he’s planning on chasing down and enjoying for his evening meal. Then he broke his gaze for a second to unzip his pants, and in a second his pants dropped to the floor, he steps out of them, and he’s standing naked with the biggest and hardest cock Adrienne had seen in weeks.

She didn’t know if Wilder seduced his prey with his warm blue eyes before he attacked, but she knew one thing—she couldn’t move if she wanted to. Heat coursed through her and her nipples rose to hard pebbles, and it wasn’t from the coolness of the room. It was from the warmth of the passion she held for this sexy fascinating werewolf.

His heated body crushed against her breasts. Her soft flesh against his skin and she didn’t move when he wrapped his large arms around her. She looked up at him.

“What do you want from me?” Her voice losing its coolness. Her voice weak with desire.

“You know what I want. What I’ve been hungering for since you turned me away. I will not be turned away tonight. Not tonight with the approach of the full moon.”

The desire in his eyes and face spoke for him. And he bent down and kissed her. His mouth covering her soft lips and his long tongue inserting into her mouth. Down her throat. Adrienne was overcome with passion and lust, and she reciprocated wrapping her hands around his neck, then grasping his back, and raking her long nails up and down his spine, as she sucks the tip of his tongue, as it spirals through her lips, as he thrusts it down and around her eager mouth.

He pulled away from her with his chest heaving, and his breathing intense.

“Don’t turn me away. I’ve been crazy since Bane took you. I thought I would die if anything happened to you, Adrienne. Forgive me. Can you forgive a crazy werewolf who thought he had lost everything that mattered in life?”

“I can always forgive you, but I can’t forgive the jealousy and you not believing me. How could you think that I would want and could have anyone but my family? I would never willingly let anyone have me but you and my other werewolves.”

Wilder never took his eyes from Adrienne. He placed her on the great bed after taking off her robe. He stared ravenously at her hips for a few minutes taking in her milk filled breasts. He felt like a youthful cub who had discover the laws of nature. His cock stood hard with stamina for what he needed to do, and that is to fuck her for all the nights he couldn’t. Fuck her for wanting and needing her so badly. Fuck her because she was his, and he couldn’t, or wouldn’t want no other female in his bed, in his life.

His head moved to her breasts and he placed one in his hand and looked at it, then lowered his head and sucked her nipple soft and then hard. She never complained because she so wanted him to be satisfied. He taste the faint milk from her breasts. His head shot up.

“You are pregnant and Drayton will have pups too.” A wide smile moved across his lips showing a full set of bright strong white teeth.

“What did you think I was telling you?” She said weaving her fingers through his silky hair. The sexuality of her body woke for Wilder as he aroused her passion when he sucks her nipples. She raised her hips into his body as she moved in a circular motion, almost reaching an orgasm while gyrating on his hard chest.

“I don’t want to hurt you. What can I do to satisfy you?” Wilder said looking down at Adrienne as she gazed up at him waiting for him to possess her as he had before.

“Satisfy me with that long tongue,” she said smiling pointing her finger at it.

“You will have to teach me. It’s been a while.”

“I doubt that.” Adrienne opened her legs and Wilder kissed her stomach and both sides of her hips leaving her folds for last. His kisses trailed to her mound where he found the familiar smell of her. He licked her thighs and placed his hands on her folds, and opened them then placed his tongue on her perturbing clit.

He raises his head glancing at Adrienne. Her eyes closed. “You’re ready for me. You want me as much as I need you,” he said.

“Yes. Yes, of course I do. How could you doubt my love for you?” She whispered.

Wilder did doubt at first, but he had no reason to think so now. She was in his bed and he was between her legs making love to her in the most intimate way. He kissed her and his long tongue was perfect for making love the way his human female enjoyed. But he needed something as well. It had been a long time since he had been in her.

Giving birth to his sons and to Lycell’s brood had prevented him from enjoying her sweet body. But now he could take his time with no distractions and feel every pour of her body. Smell the sweet familiar aroma coming from her opening. He placed his large finger in her small opening and she squirmed and moaned with pleasure.

“I have a surprise for you.” He knew what that surprise was and he welcomed it. As he kissed her folds and made her wet, he could feel her muscles in her opening tightening around his fingers, and he knew she was ready. With a flick of his tongue he brought her to orgasm. Her breathing intensified and she moaned and thrashed around on the sheets as he held her legs with his face buried between her beautiful thighs.

“Wilder! Wilder I love you! Never let me go,” Adrienne moaned loudly. She screamed his name. The house was empty except for them. She could demonstrate for once her love for him without fearing that someone might hear her. No one was around to hear her ask him for more. No one was around to hear her whimper with pleasure,
or so she thought.

But in the night, among the sounds of the forests, Bane’s sharp ears heard Adrienne’s groans and moans of sexual fulfillment, and he halted and stiffened his body as he stood on the snow covered mountain searching for a smell of Adrienne. He heard her in the distance calling out Wilder’s name. He would know her voice in a crowd of a thousand humans.

It was Adrienne’s voice and Wilder had possession of her. Possessed all that Bane wanted and needed.

Although the trees presented a barrier and shelter, it did not drown out her cries for sex and love, which Bane had hoped she would have done with him. He stood still listening and smelling seeking the direction the groans were coming from. Bane was led down the mountain to be closer to her because of her cry of passion. He was stirring to a desire. A desire that’s strong in man and stronger in werewolves.

The desire to mate. The desire to be alive, and the desire to be happy as Wilder is now.

Wilder’s manhood remained hard waiting for Adrienne to satisfy him as before. She had reciprocated by placing her small mouth over his large penis, and by sucking one time he had brought forth his juice. He was embarrassed that her lips barely touched his crown when he released his come in a huge gush covering her mouth. Adrienne took to swallowing his milk because she had to let him know that she had embraced and understood the primitiveness of his werewolf life and their laws.

Then in a far distance the cry and howling of a werewolf rose in a distance and went on for hours. Adrienne shuddered in Wilder’s arms as he held her close.

“Adrienne, I have to find Bane.”

“Why do you have to do that?” She glanced up into his eyes. His eyes held the secret to his heart and his intentions. If he didn’t destroy Bane, he could never rest because Bane would find a way to get to Adrienne, and Lycell and Drayton was in no shape to do anything if something were to happen to him.

“Because he will never stop searching for you. He has marked you as his. I have no choice.”

“You have a choice. You’re a man,” she said leaning over him and holding his face in her hands.

“I’m an Alpha werewolf first, and a man second. I have to protect my family and you.” Adrienne wanted to turn away from Wilder, but his strong embrace of her wouldn’t give an inch. He needed her to hear him out.

“What if Bane kidnaps you again? You have Drayton and Lycell who are injured and their children, and our twins who are cubs now. You are all vulnerable. Can’t you understand what I have to do?”

Adrienne bit her lip. She didn’t want Wilder to know her feelings for Bane. She found her reaction to Bane confusing. What had he done to her? It wasn’t what he did to her, it was what he didn’t do that confounded her, and made her care for him.

“Hunter and Devin will soon go out on their own and find mates for themselves. It’s our way. It’s the laws of the werewolves. You are my mate for life. I have to protect you.”

Although Adrienne embraced the werewolves’ laws, she didn’t understand it fully. She didn’t understand their need to hunt their food. She didn’t understand human laws with its unwavering morality, and most importantly, she didn’t understand the laws of the werewolves. This law had been internalized by generations of werewolves. It had been drummed into Wilder since he could remember by his father.

He was now the head of a pack that stretched from the Americas to Russia and it was up to him to enforce the law. Bane had kidnapped an Alpha’s mate, taken his woman, and he had to be punished by werewolves’ laws.

Wilder was being hunted and he had to hunt the pursuer. He had to kill or be killed because after all he is the fiercest hunter on earth. He is both man and wolf. He can reason, but he is single purposed like Bane, and now Bane’s single thought is the desire to mate with Adrienne, and Wilder has to find a way to stop him.

  Prologue

Once I looked into the mirror and saw a young girl named Tyler. Now when I look into the mirror, I don’t know who I am. All I know is I died when I began to lie to others and to myself. It started as one lie here and one lie there and pretty soon I became someone else.

It began on my eighteenth birthday. That day should have been the best day of my life. It started out that way of course. I woke to a beautiful summer day. Nothing out of the ordinary happened that morning, except I heard doves cry, and that was probably a warning sign. I said good bye to my parents and headed off to my high school graduation ceremony.

This day would have been wonderful even if I wasn’t rich like my class mates, or popular, or beautiful. I had none of those qualities but one. I was the girl most likely to succeed if I had money and had the parentage. At my private school, I managed to pull off a 4.0, which wasn’t easy with the rumors and threats vaulted in my direction. All because I study and could pass subjects that anyone with a little extra effort could have done.

The girls were jealous but they never gave me a second thought because I never attended their parties or glanced in the direction of their boyfriends. That was all they cared about. Grades were nothing. They could buy a grade if they had to, but a good looking rich boy, now that was a horse of a different color. These pretentious girls would have cut my hair, run me down with their Porsches and spread the most obscene gossip about me if I opened my mouth to mention their boyfriend’s names.

Throughout my years at Capitol Institute for the gifted and talented, most of the girls in this private school were gifted and talented as long as they had a hard grasp on mommy and daddy’s wallets to guarantee they would remain that way.

Girls like me who worked their asses off to escape the inevitable, never got a break unless they received good grades. At the time I didn’t understand the importance of youth and money, but I did understand the importance of an education.

I stood before that crowd of she devils and gave my valedictorian speech. Eyes rolled, curses were mouthed as I tried to read my illustrious speech. The only one sat there and listened to me was Christina and my parents.

Thanks to Chris my best friend, otherwise, my life would have been a living hell, and she was my only friend for four long years.

I was poor in friends, and just plain poor. I couldn’t afford the money to pay for anything but an occasional pizza, and in the evenings when the cafeteria was closed, I hid away in the library and ate tuna sandwiches. I spent more energy worrying about whether someone would notice that my family was broke, it was a wonder I graduated, but graduate I did.

My parents, George and Nora Burns were blue collar workers who happen to save a few dollars to pay for a home when the economy was doing ok. But my father loss his job and had been out of work for four years. In his sixties, and when the employment picture improved, no one wanted to hire him.

When I broke the news to my parents that I had won a scholarship to a prestigious high school, instead of them jumping for joy, they put their heads down and prayed. That’s all they seem to do lately is pray for me, and play the lottery.

The scholarship I received to attend this absurdly expensive school wasn’t worth the embarrassment I felt every minute of the day. But I was there and I had to adjust. I walked with my head bent and ear plugs on most times so as not to listen to the rich girls’ chatter. The whispers sounded like this, “What is she do
ing here?” and that I was clearly out of my element and out of my class. “Where did you buy that dress?” And a chorus of girls would chant, “Goodwill,” And the laughs would follow. They weren’t wrong. They were just cruel.

I made it through the embarrassment of cheap clothing, bullying, and today I’m graduating. Although I can pick my choice of universities and colleges, I will go to a local college and get a job, where I can help my mother and father pay for their home. I’m by no means as honorable as I appear. I want to be selfish and uncaring and obnoxious and spoiled as the girls in my school are, trust me, I’ve had plenty of examples, but I just can’t afford to be a narcissist. It takes time and money and I have none.

Nevertheless, I’m proud of myself for making it through the hardest years of my life. It wasn’t the teachers and the classes. That was easy. All I had to do was study. And study I did. I ate and slept with my books. If the girls didn’t speak well of me the teachers did.

Whenever a teacher asked another teacher about me they would say, “Tyler Burns, yes, she’s the best student in this school and I’m proud to have her in my class.” But I overheard old Mr. Bankston my English teacher say, “I agree, but she’s too quiet,” he whispered. “You never know what she’s thinking, and I never know she’s in class until I ask a question, and then finally she comes alive.” Then he would end it with, “Too quiet, not assertive enough.” And he would shake his head and shuffle on to class. Mr. Bankston was snoozing most of the time, the other times he had his head planted in a sandwich, and he didn’t know who was in his class let alone me.

I walked on stage and accepted my diploma as the valedictorian of my senior class and became invisible, wearing my cheap designer knockoff, under that expensive cap and gown.

My life changed, I changed when I caught the eyes of Brandon Charles, the most handsome, riches, smartest, and soon to be married senior at Princeton University.
