“Tell me how you really feel,” I say, drolly.
“Wes, don’t say that,” Lucy interjects.
“Why not? He’s not good enough for you.”
“How do you know? Do you know anything about him besides what you’ve read or heard from other people?”
“No,” he shakes his head and looks slightly ashamed.
“Well, I do. He’s a caring, humble, good man who treats me with respect. How is he wrong for me?”
“He’s not,” Wes mumbles.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t hear you.”
“He’s not wrong for you,” he confirms, louder.
“Okay, let's stop the nonsense and have some fun for the rest of the night. We’re all out together and I have a sitter."
Once our meals arrive we focus on eating and watch the jousting matches. Lucy and Avery place small bets with each other on which horseman will win and they debate over which one is more attractive.
Wes growls with jealousy. “Hey, remember me, your man?” He tugs her chair closer and plants a kiss on her lips.
Lucy looks at me and giggles. “He’s a caveman, but he’s perfect for Ave.”
Leaning down, I brush a soft kiss on her lips. “Sorry. I held off as long as I could. I can’t wait until you come home with me.”
“Me too. I want to wake up with you.”
My heart jumps in my chest at her honest answer. It’s not some proclamation of how she feels, but it’ll do for now. “Mm, I like the way that sounds.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, we have some celebrities in the crowd tonight,” a deep male voice announces over the sound system. “Would Magnus Andersen and Wesley Steele please step down to the field.”
“What the fuck?” Wes mutters, annoyed.
“We might as well see what this is about,” I say, reasonably.
Rising from our chairs, we both grudgingly walk down the stairs. A loud cheer erupts from the audience when we step onto the field.
We smile and wave to the crowd like a couple of naive fools, unaware of what comes next at a place like Medieval Way.
“What do you say folks; do we want to see them battle?” The same voice now urges the crowd to cheer us into some sort of competition.
Their response is immediate and fills the great hall. “Battle. Battle. Battle”
“You’ve gotta be shitting me.” Wes is not happy.
Five minutes later neither of us is pleased, as we stare across the arena floor at each other, dressed in fat suits that are designed to look like a knight’s armor.
“Battle. Battle. Battle.” The crowd chants as we look at each other and nod, acknowledging our shared humiliation. My embarrassment doubles as I glance back to our seats and see Lucy tittering out loud with Avery. Both clutch their stomachs as if laughing so hard is painful for them.
Some pimple faced teenager comes out of nowhere and blows a red plastic stadium horn to signal for us to begin. My focus returns to the field and my mood has switched from shame to anger. Judging by the grim look on Wes’ face, he feels the same.
“You’re going down, Steele,” I warn.
“I kicked your ass yesterday, Andersen and I’ll do it again,” he taunts.
The two of us instinctively begin to circle around and then run directly at each other as fast as we can. Within seconds, our fat suits collide and send us reeling and rolling across the dirt floor in opposite directions. We both bounce uncoordinatedly like tumbleweeds blowing in a strong gust of wind before we come to an abrupt stop.
I clench my teeth and labor back to my feet, only to see Wes struggling from side to side on his back, like a turtle on its shell trying to right itself. Without a second thought of how truly ridiculous we look, I run full speed at Wes and perform a diving, five star frog splash. I land on top of him, knocking the air out of us both, before bouncing up and crashing awkwardly down in the dirt. We both lie there on our backs sucking wind on the ground. The crowd emits a loud gasp and then a cheer when I rise to my feet.
“What…the…fuck?” Wes chokes out his disbelief at my antics.
As quickly as it all started, the pimple faced kid blows the damn plastic horn again and we are mercifully allowed to stop.
Holding my hand out to Wes, I help him to his feet. “Sorry dude, I got a little carried away.”
“Ya think?”

Lucy
“Am I the only one who’s getting a little wet watching them fight?” Ave blurts out.
“For once, your non filtered opinion is on point.”
“I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life and I didn’t even know it.”
“What do you think their talking about?” I query.
“Wes is probably telling him, she’s my family you’re not good enough for her, blah blah blah.” Her voice is low and rough, a humorous yet poor attempt at trying to imitate Wes.
“Really? I don’t think that,” I point toward them, “has anything to do with me. This is more like years of competitiveness.”
“You know what would be awesome right now?” She interrupts. “If their shirts were off.”
“Truer words have never been spoken.”
“Take it off,” Avery shouts in their direction.
“It’s not a strip show.
“Shut up and join me.” We begin chanting and to our surprise have the women in the restaurant follow suit. We high five each other through a fit of laughter only to be silenced by deathly glares from both Magnus and Wes.
“So, Magnus Andersen, hey?” She elbows me in the stomach, “how’d you snag that one?”
“I don’t know if I’ve snagged anything, yet? I fucked up pretty bad over the last few weeks and now we’re taking things slow.”
“But you made up, right?” Her questions are valid, but they have me on edge. Worrying about whether or not slow will be enough for Magnus.
“I’m pretty sure we’ve made up. Even so, what I’ve got planned for tonight should tip him over the edge.” I turn the topic back to a more sexual nature, to avoid it getting serious and emotional with Avery.
“Are you going to let him fuck your ass?” I regret my choice of diversion immediately.
“What the everloving fuck, Ave?” I’m stunned at how much she continues to surprise me. “No he’s not going anywhere near my ass.”
“Well, you should know things have changed while you’ve been out of the game. Anal is definitely in.”
“Seriously? How does Wes even put up with you?”
“Lets just say he calls me Anal Avery for a very different reason now.” Dramatically winking at me, I shake my head and hide my smirk, “but, seriously, is his dick big?” she adds.
“And here I was thinking you were going to ask how I felt about him, like a normal person.”
“I can be normal,” she challenges. “How do you feel about him?”
I laugh at the way she throws my question back at me, and answer anyway. “It’s weird, it hasn’t been a long time, but if I let myself go. I could easily fall for him.”
“Like love, marriage and babies type of fall?”
“I don’t know about all those things but, love. It could definitely be love,” I confess.
“I hope it is.’ With Avery echoing my thoughts, a small rush of hope runs through me. Maybe I can have it all. “I want you to be happy, Luce. You have sacrificed so much for all of us, for once you need to put yourself first.”
As the loud horn blares through the room, our heart to heart is officially over. The crowd cheers for Magnus and Wes, as they walk toward us less than amused. It might be a long road till these two can be civil to one another.
I feel Magnus’s arms hug me from behind, just as his lips pepper kisses on my neck, “You ready to go home?” His erection digs in to my back, all proof that he was wrestling with Wes minutes ago gone.
“It looks like we’re all ready to go,” Avery announces. “Because I need to get home and let off some steam of my own.”
“Before we do that, Luce can I talk to you.” Wes asks.
Magnus’ body tightens around me and I squeeze his hands in reassurance, “I won’t be long.”
Walking to the bar, Wes strokes his beard in concentration, “what’s got you thinking so hard?”
“Is he the reason you’ve been upset lately? Because I can take him out back and kick his ass for real.”
“No,” I exclaim. “I made myself upset. I tried to pass it off as just sex, when I knew I felt more. I missed him a whole lot more than I expected.”
He side hugs me with all his strength, and I feel my bones crush in a grip filled with love and friendship. “If this is what you want, that’s all that matters to me.”
“Are you okay with it?” I ask hesitantly.
“I’ll get over it eventually,” he admits. “Kicking his ass yesterday has definitely helped.”
Gratitude has me smiling from ear to ear, positive that eventually Wes will also see how great Magnus really is.“ Thank you, Wes.”
“Anything for you Luce; you and Jeremiah are my family.”
Magnus and Avery flag either side of us, “you ready babe? I’m getting antsy.”
“Well time’s up people.” Wes shakes our hands robotically, “It’s been nice spending time with you, but my girl needs my dick.” Throwing her over his shoulder they beeline for the exit without even a second thought to how hilarious they look.
“Are they always like that?” Magnus asks, glancing in their direction.
“Always.”
The car ride to Magnus’ house was silent, but the electricity around us palpable. Now we’re standing here in his room, the same two people that have been here before, but now everything has changed.
“What are you doing standing so far away?” I tip my chin in his direction, and he continues to stand there, using all his self control.
“I can’t decide,” he says vaguely.
“Decide on what?”
“Part of me wants to take my time and worship you, and the other just wants to fuck you so hard you never forget me.”
With soft small steps I walk toward him, unbuttoning my shirt as I go. The material loosely hangs off my shoulders, exposing my black lace bra; leaving nothing to the imagination.
“I think we can do both,” I tease. Reaching for the metal clasp on the back of my skirt, I pull it down painstaking slow, until it glides itself right off me. His gaze licks every inch of me, setting my skin on fire.
I continue to saunter toward him, but impatience gets the better of him. Pulling his shirt over his head, and shucking off his jeans, he meets me half way. Toe to toe, we’re identical; almost naked, horny as hell and ready to explode.
Allowing my new found confidence to take the lead, I drop to my knees and rub my hand over his boxer covered erection.
“Shit Lucy, you don’t have to do that.” Ignoring his statement, I drag his boxers down his legs, and wait for him to step out of them. His thick cock jerks as I wrap my delicate fingers around his shaft. I bring the tip to my mouth and let my tongue circle it, before sucking it all between my lips.
“Fuck,” he groans loudly. “You’re going to kill me.”
With the intention to drive him crazy, I bob my head up and down, while pumping him with my hand. Getting lost in the moment he grips my hair and pushes himself deeper, hitting the back of my throat.
“God, I don’t want to stop, but there’s no way I’m coming anywhere but your pussy.”
Gripping me under the shoulders he lifts me off the ground and slams his lips to mine. Walking us back to the bed, he fucks my mouth, the taste of himself on my lips spurring him on even more.
The back of my knees touch the mattress, breaking our kiss. “Sit,” his gruff voice commands. “It’s my turn.” Tugging my thong down the length of my legs, he kneels in front of me and dives straight into my pussy, like a man on death row eating his last meal. Teasing my clit, he licks, sucks and bites; bringing me to the brink of orgasm, before starting all over again.
“I need to come,” I gasp. “I’m so close.”
Sinking two fingers inside me, he curls them forward, hitting just the right spot.
“You ready, baby?” he taunts. His tongue dances with my clit, and I rock against him chasing my release.
“Please. Please don’t stop.” Together we move faster, and the friction of his beard on my sensitive skin pushes me over the edge. My body trembles, every nerve ending vibrating in aftershock.
Sprawled on the bed, listless and sated, I watch Magnus kneel on the edge of the mattress, before hovering over me on all fours. With a predatory gleam in his eyes, he kickstarts the desire within me.
“You ready for more, Lucy, baby?” I whimper at the sight of him stroking his cock. Thick, hard and weeping with come, I’m aching to feel it inside me. Lining himself up, he rubs the head of his dick up and down my dripping slit. The wetness between us allowing him to push inside me with ease.
Locking eyes, Magnus starts off slow, his movements long and gentle. His emotions run wild in his gaze, and my heart swells with all the possibilities.
Gripping my hips, each move becomes more pronounced; deeper and harder. Desperate to be inside me; he fucks me recklessly. Then he stops.
The slower pace returns, just for him to change it up again. His eyes never waver, and his rhythm never falters. Alternating between the two paces, Magnus takes us higher with every thrust, showing me exactly what it feels like to be worshipped and making it impossible for me to ever forget.
I reach for his hand and lace our fingers together.
“Ready?” I whisper.
“Ready.”
And, as those words give permission for our bodies to detonate, our hearts cling to one another in the aftermath.
Hopeful. Trusting. Elated.

Magnus
“Jeremiah, this is my friend Magnus. Do you remember him from the lumberjack competition?”
“Yep, you know Wes.” Jeremiah smiles with a toothy grin and his green eyes sparkle up at me from a face so similar to his mom’s.
He’s adorable and I can’t help but smile back at him. “Hey Jeremiah, it’s great to meet you.” I hold out my hand to high five, but instead he stretches his out.
“My mom says boys shake hands when they meet,” he informs me earnestly.
“Your mom is a smart lady,” I reply, taking his hand. His fingers are so tiny in mine as he pumps our joined hands up and down.
“Okay, I think that’s good enough, Jer,” Lucy interjects with a smile of pride.
“How do you feel about swimming?” I ask.
“I love it,” he shouts, bouncing up and down with excitement.
“Have you swam in a lake before?”
“No, just our pool.”
“Well, I have a special vest for you to wear that’s going to help you swim in the deep water with me.”
“Awesome. I like to go into the other end of our pool where the water’s over my head, but mom only lets me when I’m swimming with Wes.” Jeremiah obviously spends a lot of time with him. He’s mentioned Wes twice in only a matter of minutes. I don’t want to say the thought of the three of them hanging out like a family makes me jealous, but it does. I don’t want any man spending time with them, but me.
“Are you going to come in the water and play?” I ask Lucy with a wink.
“I sure am. Playing in the water is one of my favorite things.” She smiles suggestively and watches as I tug my t-shirt over my head and drop it on one of the cushioned lounge chairs that look out over the lake. Lucy’s heated stare burns into me as if her small hands are caressing my skin. Our eyes meet and I know she can see how much I want her too. “Later,” I say with a wink.
She nods and steps forward to help Jer get remove his shirt.
I grab the life jacket from one of the chairs and slip it over his head. Lucy fastens the clips and I tie the bow at the top. “Are you ready, Jeremiah?”
/> “I’m ready.” He jumps up and down. I clasp his hand. “We’re going to run down the dock and jump off the end. Your life vest will keep you from going under.”
“Cool.”
“Lucy, are you okay with this plan?” I’m careful to ask her permission.
“As long as he’s wearing a life vest, I am.”
“Okay, on the count of three we’re going to run.” Jeremiah nods his eyes open wide with excitement. One. Two. Three,” I yell, and we’re off, feet pounding down the smooth wooden planks of the dock. When we reach the end, we jump and soar through the air before plunging into the cold water with a huge splash. We barely go under before Jer’s vest springs him to the surface.
“That was awesome,” he shouts, water flying from his lips with each word. “Can we do it again?”
“We can do that as many times as you’d like.”
The next fifteen minutes are spent climbing out of the lake and then jumping back in. Jer is having so much fun, and I am too. My eyes wander to Lucy, where she leans back on one of the lounge chairs with her eyes locked on us and a smile gracing her lips. I know firsthand how soft those lips are.
“Do you want to try it on your own this time? I’ll stay in the water and wait for you. I’ll be right here when you land.”
His face lights up with excitement. “Yes,” he squeals, eagerly climbing up the ladder to the top of the dock. Pausing, he glances in Lucy’s direction. “Mom, I’m going to jump by myself this time. Watch me.”
“Don’t worry, I’m watching.” Her gaze sweeps briefly in my direction like she’s signalling that she’s seeing me too. I like knowing her eyes are on me.
Jeremiah takes off running and a giggle slips out just before he reaches the end. There’s no hesitation on his part as he explodes from the balls of his feet, soaring through the air to land in front of me. The splash of the water reaches me as his little head pops up, with an ear to ear smile on his face. “That was awesome. I want to do it again.”
I chuckle at his reaction and shake away the water dripping from my face and hair.
