Its activities include running the annual nationwide Storylines Festival of New Zealand Children’s Writers and Illustrators, and other book-related events; publications, including annual ‘Notable Book’ lists; general networking and advocacy; and membership of IBBY, the International Board on Books for Young People.
Since 1991, through its programme of annual awards in association with publishers, Storylines has actively sponsored new and emerging talent.

About the Author
A physiotherapist by training, Rachel Stedman works for the Ministry of Health and lives in Dunedin with her husband and two kids, who have much busier social lives than their parents. Rachel enjoys hiking, and dreams of one day owning a hut by the beach. In 2012, Rachel was shortlisted for the Tom Fitzgibbon Award and was the winner of the StorylinesTessa Duder Award for young adult fiction. A Necklace of Souls is her first novel. She is currently working on a sequel.
