by Tracy Ewens

“Good job, My Travis. I was scared when she started to cry, but you did it.”

“I did. We did it. The lunch box was a great idea.”

Paige nodded and kissed Makenna on the cheek. “See, now I don’t have to sneak My Travis. He’ll just be here, living with us. Cookies all the time. Sierra better watch out.”

They all laughed. Makenna met Travis’s eyes and everything fell into place. It was different, but so right. She supposed it was just like her father had told her on the tractor that day. Things might get a little crazy, but it would be an adventure and eventually everyone would find a seat.

My family for putting up with my closed door, imaginary friends, and often absent mind.

My mom, and all moms who make time to play burrito, even when they are tired or doing it all on their own.
