“The fuck this nigga keep calling me for?” Corey snapped when he saw that Gavin was calling him yet again.

Shit didn’t go the way they planned with Nas and Corey was over it. His cousins almost died behind that shit and he didn’t want no parts of it. Carlton told him about Nas and Remo coming to his house, but Corey was in the clear. His cousin threw Gavin under the bus and Corey assumed that’s why he was calling.

  “Who is that?” Milan asked.

“That’s Gavin with his stupid ass.” Corey frowned.

“I heard that he moved to Beaumont with Misty’s desperate ass,” Milan said as she blew smoke from her nose and mouth.

“Who told you that?” Corey asked.

“One of my cousins told me. She said that Misty’s baby daddy lives with her now. Gavin is her baby daddy, so it must be him.” Milan shrugged.

She didn’t talk to Misty or her mother anymore. Once she put Misty out, their mother called her going off and Milan ended up cursing her out. Their mother had always favored Misty and Milan was sick of it. Granted, she was always good to them both but Misty was her golden child. Milan had gotten into some trouble and their mother never let her forget it. When Corey’s phone rang again, Milan was shaken from her thoughts of the past.

“Yeah bruh,” Corey said, deciding to answer for Gavin.

“Damn nigga. The fuck you been at? I been trying to call you for weeks,” Gavin replied.

“I been out here trying to get this money. What’s good?” Corey asked.

“Man, shit is all fucked up bruh. I left New Orleans and I seriously doubt if I’m ever coming back,” Gavin answered.

  “I told you,” Milan whispered.

  “Why? What happened?” Corey asked.

“Man, I got shot the fuck up is what happened. Niggas hit me up five times and almost killed me,” Gavin said.

  “Shot by who?” Corey asked.

“Who the fuck you think? You better be careful fam. Them niggas rode down on me when I pulled up to the gates of my apartment complex and lit my car up,” Gavin said.

“The fuck you mean I better be careful? You told them niggas something about me?” Corey asked as he stood up and paced nervously.

“I wasn’t able to say shit. Them niggas hopped out the whip and just started shooting. Niggas was masked up, but I know it was them because Irvin said they came to the shop looking for me,” Gavin replied.

“Oh, well that’s all on you fam. You must have pissed them niggas off,” Corey said as he laughed.

“The fuck you mean that’s all on me? All this shit was your idea. You didn’t tell me that Stori used to be your bitch back in the day. That’s real fucked up how you played me. Trust me, them niggas can find you the same way they found me!” Gavin barked.

“It don’t sound like they’re looking for me though, fam. I didn’t play you. You played yourself,” Corey said as he and Milan both laughed.

Gavin was heated and he knew right then that something wasn’t right. He thought back to his conversation with Carlton and began to put it all together. When Nas and Remo confronted Carlton, he must have sold Gavin out. Corey was his blood and he was almost sure that he wouldn’t give him up. Gavin was thankful that he was alive but it pissed him off that Corey got away with no consequences for his actions. He and Milan were just as guilty and they needed to pay.

“Yeah, you’re right. I did play myself but it’s all good. You live and you learn. You be safe out there fam,” Gavin replied before he hung up the phone.

“I got a plan,” Milan said as soon as Corey was off the phone.

“Fuck you and your plan,” Corey snapped angrily.

“Don’t be like that Corey. If all goes well, you can have all the pussy you want,” Milan promised with a seductive grin.

“I’m listening,” Corey said he looked over at her.

Milan got up and climbed onto his lap, making him rock up instantly. When she started whispering in his ear, Corey had to stop himself from taking the pussy. Milan was tempting him, but he remained cool. He listened to what she had to say and her plan wasn’t half bad. He wasn’t sure if they could get away with it but it was worth a try.

“Thank you, my Stanka.” Stori smiled when Toi came back and handed her the drink that she went to the store and got for her.

“You’re welcome. Are you okay Stori? Your stomach is huge,” Toi noted as she watched her sister moving around the salon.

“I’m fine baby. I only have one more week and I’m officially on maternity leave.” Stori smiled.

“I’m so excited that the babies are almost here.” Toi smiled.

“Me too but I’m happier that I won’t be pregnant anymore,” Stori replied.

“I wonder if Riya or Cami want me to still come help them out when I get out of school,” Toi said, referring to the other two stylists that Stori had hired. She had space for two more and she was hoping to have them filled before she left. Toi was making good money by helping them out, but Stori knew that wasn’t why Toi wanted to hang around. She didn’t know that the little boy who asked Toi for her number was Eric. He was at the shop every day just like she was and they developed a crush on each other. Toi walked around with her phone glued to her ear all day when they were at home. She didn’t lack in her responsibilities, so Stori let her be.

“I don’t know but I’ll ask. I thought you would have wanted to be at home with me,” Stori pouted.

“I do wanna be at home with you but I like helping out at the shop too,” Toi replied.

“It’s cool, as long as Nas is here,” Stori said.

“I have to tell you something,” Toi smirked.

“Tell me what?” Stori asked as she looked over at her.

  “Eric kissed me.” Toi smiled.

  “When?” Stori asked.

“It happened twice. He kissed me and…” Toi said as her words trailed off.

“And what!” Stori yelled as her heart started thumping in her chest.

“I don’t know Stori. I liked it but I felt weird afterwards,” Toi admitted.

“What do you mean Stanka? Did he do something that you didn’t want him to do?” Stori asked as she sat down to calm her nerves.

“No, it was nothing like that. You remember when we had the talk about my body parts?” Toi asked.

  “Yeah, I remember.” Stori nodded.

“Well, I felt weird down there but in a good way,” Toi said as she looked down at her vaginal area.

Nas told her that the day would come, but Stori wasn’t ready. Toi was at the age where her hormones were raging and she was experiencing it sooner than Stori wanted her to. She knew that she couldn’t shield her from it and that’s why she always made sure to keep the lines of communication open between them. She wanted Toi to feel comfortable talking to her about anything, no matter how uncomfortable it made her.

“I understand what you’re saying Stanka and we’ve talked about this several times before. What you’re feeling is very normal but you’re way too young to act on those feelings,” Stori replied as calmly as she could.

“I’m not ready to have sex or nothing like that,” Toi said, making her visibly relax.

Stori knew how that could go though. Although Toi said that she wasn’t ready, things took a different turn all the time. If ever the opportunity presented itself, she knew that anything was possible.

“Well, I’m happy to hear that but I need you to let me know whenever you are. Remember what I told you about being careful. It’s not just about pregnancy. You have diseases to worry about too. Nas and I were careless and that’s exactly why we’re about to have two babies. I don’t want that for you though,” Stori told her.

“I don’t want that either. I want to graduate college and be married before I have kids. You and Nas are getting married, so it’s not so bad,” Toi replied, right as Eric walked into the shop.

“You wanna walk with me to the store Toi?” he asked as he smiled at her.

  “Didn
t y’all just go to the store?” Stori countered with a slight attitude.

“Yeah but Nas wants me to go back to get something for him,” Eric replied.

“Can I go Stori?” Toi asked her.

“Yeah, you can go,” Stori replied as she discreetly rolled her eyes at Eric. He was a sweetheart but he could be sweet for somebody else’s little sister and leave hers alone.

“I got one more head to cut baby and then we can dip,” Nas said when he walked into the salon. He leaned in to give Stori a kiss, but she grabbed him by his barber’s smock and pulled him closer to her before he could.

“You tell that slow talking bastard to keep his lips off of my Stanka before I shoot his lil dick off,” Stori gritted through clenched teeth.

  “Who?” Nas questioned.

“Eric, that’s who. Bastard got my baby getting all hot and bothered because he can’t keep his lips to himself,” Stori fussed as she pushed Nas away.

“Why am I getting fussed at though?” Nas laughed.

“That’s not funny Naseem. You better tell his ass something,” Stori fumed.

“I’m not telling him shit and neither are you. We already talked about this Stori. Leave them damn kids alone. Eric is an honor roll student who don’t do nothing but go to school and hang around the shop all day. He’s not out here selling dope and robbing people like some of the boys his age. Be happy that it’s him who got Toi’s attention and not one of these other lil niggas out here,” Nas said as he grabbed her face and kissed her.

“Toi is too young for a boyfriend and I’m not ready for her to have one,” Stori replied.

“Too late. That’s what he’s walking her to the store to ask her,” Nas laughed.

“What!” Stori yelled as she jumped up from the chair.

“Sit your ass down before you fall with that big ass belly,” Nas laughed as he grabbed her arm. He sat down in the chair and pulled Stori down on his lap.

“I can’t believe you right now Naseem.” Stori frowned.

“Let my boy do him. He said that he’s really feeling Toi and I told him to go for it. Eric is a good dude. He wouldn’t be hanging around me so much if he wasn’t. He had it rough at home but he didn’t let that stop him from making the grades in school. I think he’s a good fit for Toi,” Nas said.

“Okay, I’ll let it go but you better be right,” Stori said, right as his phone rang.

Nas smirked when he saw a familiar number flashing across his screen. Stori looked confused but she was curious as to what the call was about.

“I guess my aim ain’t as good as it used to be,” Nas said when he answered the phone for Gavin.

Stori already knew what happened because Nas told her about it when he came home that night. Gavin was bitter like a bitch, so she wasn’t even surprised to hear that he had something to do with the break-in at her house. Gavin was an only child, so she was happy that he didn’t die. His parents were always good to her and Toi and she would have hated for them to go through that.

“Man, that was fucked up what you and your brother did but real niggas don’t die that easily,” Gavin bragged.

“You moved out there to Texas and decided to get some heart, huh nigga. You were a bitch in New Orleans and you’re still a bitch in Beaumont. Four hours ain’t too far for me to drive to finish the job. Act like you got some sense nigga,” Nas threatened, making Gavin slightly nervous. He didn’t know how Nas found out so much shit about everybody but it was unnerving.

“I’m not calling to beef with you, bruh. You and Stori did me dirty and I can admit that I was in my feelings. I made a stupid decision and I paid for it with five bullets. I just want you to know that I wasn’t the only threat to your life,” Gavin noted.

“Speak facts nigga. Your hoe ass was never a threat to me at all,” Nas clarified.

“Maybe not but you and Stori’s exes are. Milan and Corey are who you should be worried about. They tried to pin the shit on me but they’re the masterminds behind everything. I know that Carlton was the one who sold me out, but Corey is his first cousin. You tried to kill the wrong man,” Gavin said.

“Nah, I wanted you dead too. But, you get a pass since you snitched on the nigga that I really want. Enjoy your new life in Texas. You came too close to death for you not to,” Nas replied before he hung up.

“Wow,” Stori mumbled as she thought about everything that Gavin had just said.

“Tell me everything that you know about this Corey nigga,” Nas said as he looked at Stori. He knew of Corey just from seeing him in the shop a few times. He just assumed that he was one of Carlton’s regulars. He never knew that they were related.

“Naseem, no. I’m less than a month away from giving birth to two babies. I need you to be here in one piece when I do,” Stori replied.

“I got you, baby. I’m not on no bullshit,” Nas swore.

“Oh, my God! I hate when you say that!” Stori yelled as she stood up.

“What?” Nas asked as he held his hands out innocently.

“Every time you say you’re not on no bullshit, bullshit is exactly what you’re on,” Stori pointed out.

“Alright baby. You got my word. I’ll let the nigga make it just a little while longer. I’m really in my feelings right now though. Me and Remo said that somebody else was involved but I didn’t suspect him or Milan. I don’t really know him but that bitch got a serious death wish. Maybe I wasn’t clear enough for her the last time,” Nas said, as Toi and Eric walked back into the shop.

Stori didn’t miss that they were holding hands but they let go as soon as they walked in.

“Come on and let me cut you up so we can go,” Nas said while looking at Eric. He was the last head that he had to cut before he called it a night.

As soon as they walked away, Toi walked over to Stori and rubbed her stomach. She missed Summer a lot but she was happy to have her two nephews coming soon.

“I have something to tell you, Stori,” Toi blushed and smiled.

“Okay Stanka. What’s up?” Stori asked, even though she already knew.

She took a seat and braced herself for the news that she wasn’t prepared to hear. Her baby sister was about to tell her that she had her very first boyfriend and Stori just wasn’t ready. She knew that she had raised Toi right and she trusted her to make the right decisions. Maybe Nas was right and Eric was a good boy. If not, Stori had no problem making good on her earlier threat.

“N igga, fuck you, your bitch and them ugly ass babies that she’s about to push out!” Milan yelled at Nas over the phone.

It was crazy of her to get excited when he called because she knew that it couldn’t have been anything good. She and Nas were divorced now and he never gave her any indication that he wanted her back. Milan had just saw her male friend out when she got the call. She was about to hop in the shower to wash the smell of sex from her body. She paced around her bedroom butt ass naked arguing with her ex-husband instead.

“See, you just be playing dumb but I’m real life stupid with this shit. Putting a gun to your head wasn’t good enough. You must want a nigga to pull the trigger,” Nas replied.

“Why are you calling me, Naseem? You wanted a divorce and you got one,” Milan noted.

“It’s not too often that I give passes Milan but I’m trying to be the bigger person here. Even though you and that hoe ass nigga Corey came at me and my wife on some bullshit, I’m willing to let you walk away with your life. I got a wife and two sons to think about and I’m trying to do better,” Nas said.

Although they’d done a lot of unforgivable things, Stori begged Nas to squash the beef that he had with Milan and Corey. Remo was heated, but Kalani begged him to let it go too. Remo was begging his wife for a baby but she swore that it wasn’t happening until he calmed down. Milan had started up with the keyboard thugging on Instagram again, but Nas ignored that too. Stori kept reminding him of the bigger picture and he was trying to do better. She kept telling Nas how blessed he was and he had to a
gree. His credit score was improving and his criminal record had been wiped clean. They had a beautiful home, thriving businesses and two sons that were due to arrive any day now. He had too much to lose to keep playing the same childish ass games. He and Remo even went to Milan’s house but God was once again looking out for her. Milan had moved and that was the only thing that saved her pathetic ass life.

“That bitch ain’t your wife. You better test them lil ugly muthafuckers when they get here. Ain’t no telling who their real daddy is. And as I stated earlier, fuck you, your kids and your bitch. Y’all did me dirty, not the other way around,” Milan snapped, pulling Nas out of his thoughts.

“Hang up on that childish hoe. I’m sorry for even trying to get you to be the bigger person,” Milan heard Stori say in the background.

“Fuck you, bitch. I’m not the one who was fucking friends, hoe. You need to be trying to find your babies a daddy. Their real daddy hoe because it’s not Naseem!” Milan yelled.

“Don’t be mad because I’m really pregnant boo. Ain’t no faking over this way bitch,” Stori laughed.

“Laugh now bitch but I got something for both of you hoes,” Milan warned.

“Hang up Naseem. I tried but it’s whatever now,” Stori said.

“You got that sweetheart,” Nas replied before the phone line went dead.

“Stupid ass bitch got the right one,” Milan fumed as she dialed Corey’s number on her phone.

“What’s good Milan?” Corey asked when he answered for her.

“That’s what I’m trying to find out. What’s up with what you were supposed to be doing?” Milan questioned.

“I got this shit under control. You just make sure you got that fat ass in the air once it’s done,” Corey replied.

“I’m a woman of my word. You got me and I definitely got you,” Milan cooed seductively.

“Come open the door. I just pulled up,” Corey said, right before he hung up the phone.

Milan frowned because she was not in the mood to be bothered with his disgusting ass. Corey was starting to annoy her with the pop up visits and she was tired of telling him about doing it. Milan was still naked but she grabbed some feminine wipes from her bathroom and quickly wiped the scent of her previous lover from between her thighs. She sprayed some air freshener to mask the smell of fresh sex in her bedroom. When Corey knocked on the door, she didn’t even bother getting dressed before she went to open it. He needed a little persuading and she was a master of persuasion.
