“Bye Naseem,” Stori said as she turned and tried to walk away.

“Stop playing with me,” Nas said as he pulled her close and kissed her.

“Move Naseem, I’m sweaty,” Stori giggled as he picked her up and sat her on top of the desk.

“Girl, I saw you push two babies out, two minutes apart. You think I give a fuck about a lil sweat. I don’t know how the doctor did it but he snitched that shit up extra tight,” Nas said as he ran his hand in between her legs.

“Shut up boy,” Stori laughed as she slapped him.

Nas was happy as hell when Stori got cleared by her doctor. He was like a crack head waiting for those six weeks to be over with. He swore that sex with Stori was even better than it was before the twins came. He told her that the doctor stitched her up and made her even tighter. Stori laughed every time he said it but he was dead ass serious.

“Who’s at home with my boys?” Nas asked.

“Jarvis and Latrice. I was gonna skip the gym today but I’m happy that I didn’t have to,” Stori replied.

“I’m about to start charging that nigga rent. He comes over there every day,” Nas said, speaking of his older brother.

“Leave him alone. He’s excited about his nephews,” Stori replied.

Jarvis came to their house every single day without fail. Most times, he came straight from work and stayed for hours at a time. It had been a while since they had a baby in the family and he was enjoying being a first time uncle.

“I’m going to the store Stori!” Toi yelled as she knocked on the door.

  “Okay Stanka,” Stori replied.

Eric wasn’t in the shop, but Toi sent him a text letting him know that she was there. He was playing basketball but he swore that he was on his way. The court where he played was right around the corner and he was taking too long for her. Toi was hungry and she ended up going to the store alone to get her something to eat. She knew that Stori would kill her for going by herself at night but she didn’t want to disturb her or Nas.

“What’s up beautiful?” a young dude asked Toi when she walked up to the store.

“Hey,” Toi replied politely as she walked inside.

The dude walked in behind her and followed her to the back. Toi saw him staring from the corner of her eye and got paranoid. He was talking on the phone with somebody but he was whispering. The entire situation was weird and she was ready to go. Instead of ordering her food, she called Eric’s phone as she prepared to go back to the shop. When he didn’t answer, Toi got even more frightened. The dude was trying to play it off but he was clearly following her. Toi slipped her phone in her front pocket and was prepared to run back to the shop. As soon as she walked outside, she was about to take off until she was grabbed from behind.

“You ain’t going nowhere lil bitch,” a man gritted as he pulled her to an all-black car.

“No! Let me go!” Toi kicked and screamed as she was forcefully shoved inside.

The man who had followed her around the store came running outside and hoped in the driver’s seat before quickly pulling off.

“I told you, nigga. All we had to do was be patient and wait. I knew we would catch them bitches slipping one day. Nobody is on point that much,” the man from the store said excitedly as he drove.

“Let me out of here!” Toi yelled as she swung and kicked her legs wildly.

“Ahh! Fuck! This bitch kicked me in the mouth!” the man who sat in the back seat with her howled. He raised his hand high in the air and slapped Toi across her face.

“You better calm the fuck down back there girl,” the driver ordered.

“Don’t tell this bitch nothing. I got something for her ass if she try that shit again,” his accomplice said as he pulled out a silver gun and sat it on his lap. Toi was paralyzed with fear as she held her stinging cheek. She had never seen the two men before but they looked kind of young. She regretted walking to the store alone and now she knew why Stori had her on such a short leash. Her big sister was overprotective for a reason and she now understood why.

“Let’s go get something to smoke before we head over to the spot. This bitch ain’t gon’ be a virgin for long,” the driver said excitedly, as Toi’s heart thumped loudly in her chest.

Her phone was in her front pocket but she was too scared to move. The man was staring at her menacingly as he held on to the gun that was on his lap. Toi was praying for a miracle but she didn’t know how she was going to get out of the mess that she was in.

Eric dribbled the ball that he was holding all the way to the barber shop. He hadn’t seen Toi in a few days because Stori was out on maternity leave. They talked on the phone and Facetimed all day but it wasn’t the same. Eric never had a girlfriend before and he really liked Toi. He could tell that Stori wasn’t too happy about the idea at first but she was starting to come around. She even let Eric come over there a few times to see Toi since they hadn’t been at the shop. Nas would pick him up early Sunday and let him spend the entire day at their house. He and Toi only watched movies or swam but he loved spending time with her.

“Good evening,” Eric spoke when he walked into the shop.

He didn’t see Nas but he walked straight to the hair salon to find Toi. The entire shop was busy but he didn’t see Toi anywhere. He knew that they were still there because Stori’s car was parked out front. When he walked back up front, Nas and Stori were walking out of the office hugging and smiling.

“Hey Stori. Where’s Toi?” Eric asked, wiping the smile from her face.

“I thought you walked with her to the store,” Stori replied.

“No, I was playing ball when she called and I just came back,” Eric said.

“I know damn well Toi didn’t walk to that store by herself this late,” Stori fussed.

“Calm down baby. It’s not that late,” Nas said.

“Maybe not but it’s dark outside,” Stori pointed out.

“I’m going run over there,” Eric said as he put his ball down and hurried out of the shop.

“She knows better than to do something like that,” Stori said as she walked into the salon.

The stylists were busy with their clients but they were happy to see her. Stori smiled when they complimented her on how well she looked after just having two babies. They didn’t know her before pregnancy, so they didn’t know that she used to be smaller.

“The fuck you mean!” Nas yelled from the front of the shop a few minutes later. Stori got up from where she was seated and rushed to see what had him so upset.

“What’s wrong baby?” Stori asked when she walked up to him.

“She wasn’t in the store and nobody saw her. I keep calling her phone but she’s not answering,” Eric said nervously.

“What!” Stori yelled as she bolted out of the front door.

Nas and Eric were right behind her as they ran across the street to the corner store. The store wasn’t huge but Stori still yelled Toi’s name as she looked around for her. Nas went straight to the cash register to talk to the Korean store owner.

“I saw her but she didn’t buy anything. She was with a man,” he said in broken English.

  “What man?” Stori asked.

“I don’t know,” the man said as he held his hands up.

“Oh, my God! No, please,” Stori said as she collapsed to the floor.

“Come on baby. She hasn’t even been gone that long. She can’t be too far,” Nas said as he picked her up and carried her out of the store.

“I need to call the police,” Stori said as she sobbed uncontrollably.

“I can track her phone. We share our locations with each other,” Eric spoke up.

“Where is she now? Let me see your phone,” Stori demanded as she jumped out of Nas’ arms.

Eric’s hands were shaking as he put in his password to unlock his phone. Once he got to what he needed, he handed Stori the phone for her and Nas to see.

“Fuck the police. I’m calling Remo. We can handle this shi
t ourselves. Ain’t nobody walking up out of that bitch alive,” Nas barked angrily.

“I’m coming too,” Stori said as she pulled her hair back into ponytail.

“No baby. Stay here until I come back,” Nas demanded.

“Fuck that Naseem. That’s my baby and I’m going to get her. You already know I ain’t scared,” Stori replied.

“Stay here and watch the shop Eric,” Nas ordered.

“I can’t Nas. I have to make sure that she’s okay,” Eric said, looking as if he wanted to cry.

“Fuck it, let him come too. I got enough guns in my car for everybody,” Stori said as they all piled into her car. Nas called Remo to tell him what was up, as Eric tracked Toi’s phone and told them where to go. Stori was serious as hell about having a few guns in her car. Nas drove as she grabbed two from her glovebox and made sure that they were loaded. If Nas never knew it before, he knew without a doubt that he was in love. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the right time for him to express that to anyone.

“I ’m so proud of you, baby.” Kalani smiled as she and Remo walked into the restaurant.

Remo had gone back to cosmetology school to get his barber’s license and Kalani was so happy for him. Nas had been showing him the basics and he was a fast learner. The twins were still up to their usual mischief and that would probably never change. Nas had gone to the school a few days ago and took a test on Remo’s behalf. Remo was celebrating when he made a perfect score like he had really done something. Kalani celebrated with him, although she couldn’t stop herself from laughing.

“If you’re so proud of me, how come you’re not pregnant yet?” Remo questioned.

“Maybe it’s not time for me to get pregnant Kareem,” Kalani replied.

“The fuck is that supposed to mean? You popping pills behind my back?” Remo questioned as he looked at her skeptically.

“Can we not do this right now Kareem? We’re supposed to be enjoying our date night. Stop focusing so much on me getting pregnant. Besides, I know you enjoy trying.” Kalani smiled.

“Hell yeah. Why do you think I told you to wear a dress tonight?” Remo winked.

“Table for two?” the hostess asked with a bright smile.

  “Yes, please,” Kalani replied.

They kept it simple and decided to eat Chinese at P.F. Chang’s that night. Kalani always tried to pick a different place because Remo really didn’t care. He would have been okay with a pizza or chicken spot but she wasn’t having it. Remo liked their food, so he was good with her choice.

“Follow me,” the hostess said as she grabbed the menus and led the way to the dining area.

“Aww, somebody got our favorite table,” Kalani pouted as she looked to the rear of the restaurant.

The place was always dimly illuminated and she loved the table in the back that was near the window. A woman and man were already seated there and they seemed to be engrossed in conversation.

“You wanna sit there baby?” Remo asked as he looked at her.

“No boo, it’s fine,” Kalani said as she continued to look in the direction of her favorite area. The hostess was leading them to the other side of the room and Remo could tell that his wife wasn’t happy.

“Excuse me miss, but my wife wants that table back there,” he said as he pointed to the occupied table.

“Um, okay. You can wait up front for a little while and I’ll make sure that you get it once they’re done,” the hostess replied.

“Nah, I don’t have that kind of patience,” Remo said as he turned around and headed to the rear of the restaurant.

“Kareem, please don’t cause a scene. I’m okay with wherever she seats us,” Kalani said as she grabbed his arm to stop him.

“No, you’re not. That’s your favorite spot and that’s where we’re sitting. Ole girl must not know that your husband gives you whatever you want. She’s about to learn today though,” Remo said as he approached the table.

“Just let it go Kareem,” Kalani begged.

“Good evening. I hope y’all are having a good night,” Remo said as he smiled at the couple who were at the table.

  “Hello,” the woman replied politely.

“I hate to interrupt your meals but the hostess needs to move y’all to another table,” Remo said.

“Why? Is something wrong?” the woman asked.

“Not really but this is my wife’s favorite table and she wants to sit here. I apologize for the inconvenience and your food is on me,” Remo said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out two crisps hundred dollar bills.

“Get the plates and let’s move baby,” the woman said as she gladly took the money that Remo was offering. Their food didn’t even total half of that and she didn’t see the problem. If all she had to do was move to another spot, then she was winning.

“Man, I’m not doing shit. Give that nigga his money back and sit your ass down. The fuck he think he is,” the man spat angrily.

“We’re almost done eating anyway,” the woman pointed out.

“I don’t give a fuck. I might want dessert,” the man frowned defiantly.

“I get it bruh. You don’t want to make it seem like you’re a bitch in front of your girl. I understand and I respect that. But, ask yourself if it’s really worth it. We don’t know each other and I promise that you want to keep it that way. All I want to do is enjoy a date night with my wife. I’m not trying to be shooting up in this nice ass restaurant,” Remo said with a smile that was anything but friendly.

“Get your ass up and let’s go Milton. I’m not about to get killed over no damn table. Where do you want us to sit at miss?” the woman asked as she grabbed her plate and looked at the hostess.

“Follow me ma’am,” the hostess replied nervously as she walked away. Remo looked at the man who was at the table and he looked scared to death. He grabbed his plate and hurriedly followed his girl to the other side of the restaurant.

“Aye, come clean this table so me and my wife can sit down!” Remo yelled to one of the waiters.

“This is so damn embarrassing,” Kalani said as she lowered her head in shame.

“Fuck these people. Your man got you your table,” Remo said as he led her to her chair.

A waiter came over and cleaned the table and gave them some new silverware. He took Remo and Kalani’s drink orders and came back with them a few minutes later. Once they ordered their food, Remo looked over at his wife and smiled.

“See, this is what I be talking about all the time Kareem. Fathers don’t behave the way you do. You can’t be trying to bring a baby into this kind of madness,” Kalani fussed.

“What madness? I was polite and I paid for their food. That nigga was just in his feelings but fuck him. And stop trying to tell me what kind of father I’m going to be Kalani. Me and Nas might do shit differently but we were raised right. You married me, so what does that say about you?” Remo asked.

“That I’m just as fucked up in the head as you are,” Kalani laughed.

“See, that’s why we’re so good together. I had to take you from that other nigga. He didn’t even know what to do with you. All that ass and you would have been married to a fucking policeman. I couldn’t let that happen to you baby,” Remo said as he blew her a kiss.

When their food came, he ordered another drink as he ate. Remo’s life was hectic most times, so he was happy when he got to relax and spend time with his wife. Other women didn’t even matter to him anymore. He’d had enough of them to last a lifetime. He wanted to be a good husband to Kalani and an even better father to their kids.

“I’m stuffed,” Kalani said as she pushed her plate to the side.

“What about your dessert? You know you always get that banana shit every time we come here,” Remo replied, speaking of the banana spring rolls that she loved.

“Yeah and you always eat more than me,” Kalani pointed out.

“Nah, I’m good on that. I’m eating my wife for dessert,” Remo said as he winked and made h
er blush. He wiped his mouth and pushed back from the table, making Kalani look at him strangely.

“Where are you going?” Kalani asked.

“To get my dessert,” Remo replied as he got down on his knees and crawled over to her side of the table.

“Kareem! What are you doing? Get up! We’re in a restaurant full of people,” Kalani whispered as she looked around frantically.

Nobody seemed to be paying them any mind but she could never be too sure. She was happy that the place was dimly lit and a long tablecloth made it easy for Remo to remain unseen. Still, Kalani was usually loud and vocal in the bedroom. She didn’t trust herself to be quiet once her husband started touching her.

“Relax baby,” Remo whispered as his hands moved up her thighs and underneath her dress. He pulled Kalani’s underwear off and pried her legs open wide.

Kalani gasped when she felt the first flick of his tongue at her opening. She grabbed Remo’s head and opened her legs wider to give him better access. At that point, she didn’t care who was watching. He was doing his thing and Kalani had tuned everything else out. Remo wrapped his soft lips around her clit and Kalani almost jumped out of her seat. She bit her bottom lip to keep from crying out but it was becoming harder to do. Kalani wanted to scream but she had to keep reminding herself of where she was. Remo locked her in place with his strong arms as he worked his tongue in and out of her.

“Don’t stop baby,” Kalani begged as she closed her eyes and focused on trying to breathe.

She was losing it and she changed her mind. She wanted him to stop before she embarrassed herself in a restaurant full of people. She couldn’t keep quiet and she was unable to keep still. She used her hands and pressed it against Remo’s forehead forcefully. She wanted him to back away from her but that only seemed to make him go harder. Kalani’s eyes filled with tears and, before long, they were spilling down her cheeks. Remo had her cumming and crying as he ate her like the dessert that they declined to order.

“Wow, Kalani. Is this what it’s come down to? You could have had a good man but you chose a street thug instead. Now look at you. Sitting in a restaurant alone, crying,” someone said, prompting Kalani to open her eyes.
