The Bully's Nanny (The Nannies Book 5) Page 8

by Sam Crescent

“There’s no way you could ever replace her. She was a fucking bitch, Callie, and you’re not. What’s wrong?”

  “I’m scared.”

  “Of what?”

“Of what this means. I don’t know what to expect. I’ve never been in a situation like this.”

  “You mean a relationship?”

  “Yes.”

“You weren’t a virgin when I fucked you.”

  “I know.”

  “What’s going on?”

“This is a letter for my agency.”

  “You’re quitting.”

“I don’t know. I was hoping you could tell me because right now I’m confused. Do I give this letter or not? What do I do?” She hated asking him for any kind of help or clarity. Neither of them had really talked about any of this. It wasn’t like they’d prepared for a relationship. Far from it. This was all new to her, to them, and she didn’t know what to expect.

He took the resignation letter out of her hand, unfolded it, and read through it again. She watched him, waiting to see if she could tell what he was thinking just by looking at him, but nothing.

  Biting her lip, she waited.

  Still nothing.

  This was freaking hard.

He folded the letter back up and held on to it.

“I promised myself after Tilly I wouldn’t let another woman into my life.”

“I understand.” She went to grab the letter from him but he held it out of her reach.

“You’re not Tilly. You’re never going to be her. Meghan adores you and as much as I hate to admit it, I don’t think Tilly ever loved her. She never wanted my kid and I hate to think of what she’d have done to my daughter if I’d left her alone.”

He took a deep breath and finally handed her the resignation letter. “If you give that to your agency, then I’d love for you to come and live with me. For us to give this a try?”

  “What about your divorce?”

“I’ll figure it out. I always do. It won’t be long before my PI finds her and gets her to sign the damn thing. I don’t even know why I bothered to use him. I’m pretty sure I could have done a far better job.”

She looked down at the resignation letter. “What does this mean exactly?”

“It means you’re going to have to get used to me holding your hand, kissing you, and claiming you in public. You’re not my nanny anymore. You’ll be my woman.” He took her hand and pulled.

She giggled as she moved to straddle his lap.

“You’ve got to start wearing skirts or dresses. This won’t do.”

Callie rolled her eyes. “Your head is always in the gutter.”

“It’s always where it needs to be.” He sank his fingers into her hair, tugging her down. The moment they kissed, Callie knew there was no place else she wanted to be.

He groaned and kissed her again, this time a little deeper. His other hand stroked down her back, going to her ass. She ground her pussy against the hard ridge of his cock. Her hands went from his shoulders to the back of the sofa.

“I want to fuck you right now.”

Using the sofa as leverage, she pushed off, and without thinking about what she was doing, and going purely on instinct, she pushed her jeans down along with her panties. After stepping out of them, she moved to straddle his waist. While she’d gotten rid of her clothing from the waist down, Drew had also pulled out his cock and was working the length, running his hand up and down.

Sitting on his lap, she held herself up as he pressed the tip of his dick to her entrance. Slowly, she began to slide down, feeling his dick as he took her every single inch. The depth shocked her as he grabbed her waist and pulled her down, fucking hard inside her.

She closed her eyes and cried out, and Drew attacked her shirt.

He tore it open and flicked the catch of her bra, her breasts spilling out. He cupped each mound before sucking them into his mouth.

She cried out as he bit down just a little too hard, pressing her lips together in an attempt to hide her screams. She didn’t want to wake Meghan, not as he continued to pound inside her.

He held on to her hips, so tight she knew there would be bruises. With each thrust up, he pulled her down, driving him even deeper. It felt amazing.

Wrapping her arms around his neck, she kissed him, wanting to drown in every single particle that was him. Crazy.

This man had made her high school life a nightmare. She’d dreaded seeing him in the hallways, or even being near him in class. Yet here she was, fucking him on his sofa. She’d clearly lost her mind, not that she cared. Being with him was the best place to be right now.

“You’re going to have to make yourself come, baby. If you don’t, I’m going to find it.”

She touched her clit, stroking over the swollen bud. The first touch made her gasp, aching for more of him. He didn’t stop his relentless thrusts. It felt incredible. She closed her eyes, and within moments, she was close to her release. Drew continued to suck on her nipples as he pushed her higher and higher to the peak. When she came, she did so crying out his name and wishing she still had some sanity left, but it was gone.

Drew had been going easy on her. Now, he pushed her to the sofa, lifted her feet high, and pounded inside her, making her take every single inch of him, driving in deeper, harder, his pursuit shocking her as he worked her pussy.

This time when he came and he filled her, she felt every single pulse as it jetted inside her. She was going to have to tell him she wasn’t on the pill.

Just as they got her breath back, she opened her mouth to tell him when a very close little voice said the name Daddy.

From the position where she was at, she hoped she was completely covered, otherwise, his little girl had just seen her naked.

“What is it, sweetheart?” Drew asked.

  “I’m thirsty.”

“Okay, go into the kitchen and I’ll be there.”

  “Is Callie okay?”

“Yes, yes, she’s fine. I just wanted to see if she was ticklish all over.”

  “Is she?”

“No, she’s not overly ticklish. Go on then, honey, I’ll be there in a moment.”

Callie hid against his chest, trying her hardest not to be mortified. “Is she gone?”

  “Yes.”

“I hope she wasn’t watching for too long.”

“Nah, she’d have probably screamed with how I was holding your legs.” He kissed the tip of her nose. “Go to my room. I’ll deal with this.”

  “It’s still early.”

“Exactly and I’m not going to waste our time watching a movie we can watch with my daughter. I think it’s only fair I get acquainted with you.”

  Chapter Nine

Drew finished his call to the court about a client who had one too many DUIs and was needing to possibly serve some jail time. He’d gotten away with several community services but now, they needed for him to learn a lesson, and in all honesty, Drew wouldn’t want someone who drove under the influence in this town. His little girl was going to grow up, and one day, she was going to be out on the streets on her own. He’d never forgive himself if he allowed a man to completely get away with breaking the law and ended up killing her.

Callum poked his head around the door. “Is now a bad time?”

“No, we’re good.” He finished looking through a couple of his cases and made the final notes to the last one. “What is it?”

“The parents would like you to visit and to bring Meghan and your nanny.”

Drew sat back. He hadn’t seen his parents since he married Tilly. They’d asked him not to, and in doing so, they’d pretty much kept their distance. It was why he’d never taken Meghan to his parents when he and Tilly were experiencing the worst kind of fight. They’d have only gloated about being right, and he didn’t like it.

  “I don’t think so.”

“Are you still holding a grudge after all these years?”

  “Am I still holding a grudge? I
m not twelve anymore, Callum. It’s not going to happen.”

“You know I heard a rumor around town,” he said.

“Callum, I’m pretty sure you spread of all rumors.”

“It concerns you and the nanny.”

“Callie isn’t my nanny anymore. She handed in her resignation letter a few days ago. They’ve already severed ties. I’ve been in contact with them, and they asked if I could wait for a new nanny. I told them their services were no longer required.”

“So Callie has become a more permanent feature,” Callum said.

  “Yes.”

“And you don’t want her to meet our parents?”

“You told them, didn’t you?” Drew asked.

“Actually, I didn’t. They heard the rumor from Bob at the florist shop.”

  “It’s not going to happen.”

  “Why not?” Callum asked.

“I’m not putting Callie through that.”

“Come on, Drew, you know they’ve felt horrible about everything that happened. They haven’t even seen Meghan.”

“That’s on them. It’s not on me. If Tilly was still in the picture, you know for a fact they wouldn’t want anything to do with me,” Drew said.

“No, I know they’d want something to do with their son, but not with the man who was abused by that woman.”

  “Don’t.”

“You can’t admit that you were wrong,” Callum asked.

“I wasn’t wrong. I did what I had to for my daughter. As a father, I’m sure you understand.”

“I do, but even I think there are limits to what you should tie yourself to.”

Drew stood and walked to his window. The offices were on the ground floor of the building, and it was near the police station, and the courthouse wasn’t too far away. It was small, simple, perfect.

He ran his fingers through his hair. “I like Callie,” he said. “I really like her.”

“And dining with our parents won’t change that.”

“But it will because they judge people before they got to know them.”

“I know Callie. She’s a sweetheart. They’re going to love her.”

“Even though she broke the rules of her job just to be with me and as she says, she probably is unemployable.” He didn’t mind. Now that he was back at work full-time, he could more than afford to take care of her. He wanted to.

If this was where he could make up for all the times of being a bastard, he’d do it.

“Give them a chance. They weren’t wrong about Tilly. They’d like to meet their grandkid, and see their son again.”

  “I’ll think about it.”

  “That’s a yes.”

“Callum, seriously, we’re not kids anymore.”

“I know but it’s still the same thing. Totally going to have to deal with it. You’re coming, you’re bringing Meghan and Callie. It’ll be fun.”

“Yeah, and if my woman dumps my ass, what then?”

“I’ll hire her. I know she’s good with kids and Leah could use the break.” Callum winked at him.

“There’s no way. You and Leah would fall in love with her and won’t share her.”

“Are you saying what I think you’re saying? Are you telling me you’re in love with her?”

“Don’t be an idiot.” He balled up a piece of paper and threw it at his brother, who dodged it.

“I think you’re protesting way too much, but we’ll see.” Callum winked. “I’ll see you on Sunday.” His brother left him alone.

He hadn’t broached the subject of parents to Callie. She hadn’t even mentioned her own, but he was sure he heard the Stewarts were enjoying a vacation across Europe.

Finishing up his day’s work, he left the office at around six-thirty and headed home. It was late and with all the extra work Meghan did, she was usually in bed by seven. Callie had stuck to the routine and even though he felt seven was really early, Meghan had done nothing but thrive.

She was coming downstairs, carrying laundry as she did every night. “She’s waiting for her story and goodnight kiss.”

When she got to the bottom of the stairs, he cupped her face and kissed her hard. This, he could get used to.

“Welcome home,” she said with a giggle.

“I’ll go sort out Meghan. I’ll be down shortly.”

“I’ll finish up the laundry and get your dinner ready.”

He watched her walk away, paying close attention to her swaying hips. Damn, he loved her ass.

Why hadn’t he ever admired it during high school? He had a feeling if he’d really paid attention to Callie, he’d have made a complete and total fool of himself. Instead, he’d been more interested in girls who’d wanted him, and who were willing to go to bed with him. He’d been fickle.

Walking into Meghan’s room, he saw his little girl already close to sleep.

“You weren’t going to wait for me?”

“I’m really tired today. I wanted to go to bed.”

“Are you okay?” He touched her head, no fever.

“Yes. We went to the park. That horrible mean boy was there. I showed him I could swing from the monkey bars and climb just as high. I’m tired now.”

His hackles rose. He’d asked Callie not to take her to the park.

  You bullied her. She’s strong.

“Do you like going to the park?

“Yes. I love it.” Meghan snuggled in. “No story tonight, Daddy. I’m sleepy.”

Even as she spoke the last words, it looked like she’d already fallen asleep. He smiled, watching her. Running his fingers through her hair, she didn’t even stir to tell him off. “You’re one of the best things that has ever happened to me.” He leaned forward, kissing her head.

He took a quick shower and made his way downstairs.

Callie was in the dining room. “I know what you’re going to say. She begged to go to the park and she even told me no horrible boy was going to stop her from enjoying it. She stood up for herself. She’s a real fierce warrior.”

He tilted Callie’s head back and brushed his lips against hers. “I missed you.”

“You’re not going to scream at me?”

  “For what?”

“For taking her to the park and having a run-in with that boy.”

“I was going to but she looked happy. Sleepy, but happy.”

  “Oh, good.”

“I’m not a monster. Besides, I can hardly judge the way you handled it. You dealt with me, and look at us now. For all I know, that boy could be Meghan’s first love.”

She rolled her eyes. “How was your day at work?”

“Uneventful. Same old, same old.” He shrugged. “Callum said my parents want us to visit for Sunday dinner.”

  “This week?”

He nodded. “I’m going to try and get out of it.”

  “How come?”

“My parents and I haven’t really gotten along since Tilly. They said a bunch of stuff that I didn’t realize at the time was in fact true. They were right about everything.”

  “I’m sorry.”

“Yeah, there’s no reason to be sorry. It happened, you know.”

“I do. You don’t want to go.”

“I don’t want to take you with me.”

  “Oh.”

“Not like that. Damn it, I don’t want them to destroy what we’ve built. What we’ve started.”

“Do you think I’ll say something?”

“No, no, nothing like that. My parents are very judgmental.”

“Do you want me to pretend to still be a nanny?”

“No. I’m not going to go into this lying to them.”

She took his hand, linking their fingers together. “If you want to go, then I’ll go. No hesitation. You shouldn’t keep apart from your family.”

  “Yours are in Europe?”

“Yes. They said if I needed them, they’d be home in a heartbeat. They love me. I know that. I’m more than happy to go with you to meet your parents
.” She leaned over and kissed his lips. “Now eat and stop stressing so much.”

  ****

Callie really shouldn’t have told him to stop stressing so much.

She’d met a lot of parents in her career. Admittedly, all under the guise of being the nanny. People were happy to be around her. She posed no real threat. She kept kids in line and happy, but that was it.

This was different. She’d baked a pie. This was how nervous she was.

She wasn’t going as Drew’s nanny. Nope, she was going to go as Drew’s girlfriend? She wasn’t sure what title to call herself. Love? Mistress? He wasn’t divorced, so it had to be a mistress. Wow, that thought was so depressing.

As she climbed into Drew’s car, she let Meghan hold the pie for them.

“I thought you told me not to stress,” Drew said.

  “I did and you shouldn’t.”

“Why do I feel you’re stressing enough for the both of us?”

“Because that is totally what’s happening. You should know that about me.”

  “My parents won’t bite.”

“Oh, I know. They’re completely harmless but … ugh, I’m not really happy right now.” She took a deep breath. “I should be happy though, shouldn’t I? What if they hate me? I’ve met a lot of parents and pie is good, but do I look like I’m trying too hard?”

“You look fine. My mom is a good cook. You’re already going to be on her good side. She always said she’d be happy with any woman who can cook for her boys.”

She nodded. “Right, that sounds totally reasonable. A little sexist maybe, but all good.”

Drew laughed. He held her hand as much as possible while he drove over to his parents’.

With him being her bully, and them never getting along during high school, she’d never had a reason to visit his home, and so as they parked outside his childhood home, she marveled at the beauty of the large house.

Callum and Leah were already there, their kids running around.

“Showtime,” Drew said. He got out of the car.

Callie followed suit, taking the pie from Meghan’s hand as they both walked over. Drew took her hand, which was clammy. He chuckled. “Relax.”

“See, I told you I’d get him to come and visit. Here he is, your youngest son.”
