Ordinary Me

Again, I wasn’t amused by the photo they used of me, however this time at least I wasn’t crying. I couldn’t help but feel like someone was watching me. I glanced over the top of the paper Steve and I were holding and there was Jodi, standing in front of us, openmouthed.

“It’s really not what it looks like Jodi. It really kind of just happened.” I tried to explain, knowing how upset she must be because I didn’t tell her. Like I even had time to tell her, but still, I knew she would be upset, you know, the whole best friend thing. She looked at me, her eyes tiny slits. I opened my eyes wide feigning innocence.

“Honest, Jodi, it just kind of happened.”

“Oh jeez!” she threw her hands up in the air.

“Here we go again!” was all she could say.

And really, this time I had to agree with her.
