She decided to try his room again. Maybe he had not had breakfast yet, and the two of them could have it outside by the pool at that little cafe. The phone kept ringing. Still no answer in Jason's room. She called the front desk and they, too, could get no answer. She asked if she could leave a message for him to call her. Maybe he was already down at the beach. Maybe they could learn how to surf and water ski together.
"Shauna! I need to get into the bathroom!” Michael's barbaric pounding on the door startled her. “Sorry.” She immediately got up and opened the door.
"Stupid, inconsiderate bitch.” Michael shoved his way in. “You're not the only person in this room, you know.” He rudely pushed her out and slammed the door.
She heard it lock. She crept back into the bed and pulled up the covers. Why did she have to share a room with Michael? He was so mean and vile. She did her best to avoid him, but it was difficult. It was much easier when her mother was alive. The two of them shared the most special of bonds. Michael would not dare be mean to her with her mother around. She was so loving and protective of her.
One time, she even suggested to their father that Michael get help, see a psychiatrist. Michael exploded, calling Linda a bitch and a lousy mother. Stephen slapped him across the face. It was the only time he had ever struck one of his children. Linda had told Michael that if she ever caught him taunting or abusing Shauna again, that was exactly where he would go, to a shrink.
"You love Shauna more than me? Why don't you love me?” Michael had wailed. Linda was very patient with her troubled son, telling him that she loved him dearly, but that sometimes he got out of line. Then she suddenly died and left her to fend off Michael herself. It was not an easy task, for he had a mean streak, a terrible one.
Once inside the bathroom, Michael carefully removed the tiny vial of cocaine from his travel bag. He poured a tiny bit out on his little mirror and did a couple of lines. The drug hit his brain with a blast, causing him to blink his beady eyes. He gazed at his reflection in the mirror. He hated being here and wanted to go home. He splashed cold water on his face, then did another line of coke.
"Michael, I need to use the bathroom.” Shauna lightly knocked.
"Just a minute.” He snorted one more line, then quickly put all the paraphernalia away.
"Please, I need to pee.” Shauna pleaded, knocking on the door again.
"I said just a minute, God-dammit,” he screamed. Man she got on his nerves. He hated his sister, he hated his mother, and he hated all women. He wanted to teach all of them a lesson, starting with his cunt sister.

"How would you like some new clothes, Little Mama?” Diamond was munching down on a taco. Lilly had wolfed down three, and was now gulping her Coke.
"You look like you can use some. Those don't flatter your sexy body.” He winked at her and sipped his drink with a straw.
"That would be right nice, sir.” Lilly polished off a fourth taco and reached for a fifth.
"You don't have to call me ‘sir', Little Mama. Just call me ‘Daddy'.” He winked. He watched as this hungry dirty, little waif gobbled down her food like it was her last meal.
"How old are you, Little Mama?"
"I'm sixteen, Mr. Diamond.” she replied, in between bites.
'Now, I told you to call me Daddy, sweet thing.” He grinned at her. She could not bring herself to call this nice man ‘Daddy'. She thought about her own father, the most detestable human being that she has ever known. Lilly wanted to forget about her own ‘Daddy', he was her past. She polished off one more taco and slurped down the last of her Coke.
Diamond handed her a napkin. “Clean off your face, Little Mama. We are going shopping and then we are going to make you beautiful.” He got up and smiled. She followed his lead. They strolled down the boulevard, taking in all the sights. A bald man in an orange tutu zoomed past them on a skateboard. Mexican immigrants hawking maps to the stars homes abounded. Tourists were busy taking photos in front of Mann's Chinese Theater and of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Lilly was apprehensive, but at least this was better that where she came from. The two of them stopped at a store called Cinderella and walked inside. Lilly noticed two very blonde, very busty women in there trying on the sexy clothes.
Diamond looked around, and pulled a little purple dress from a rack. “Here, Little Mama, try this on. I'll bet you'll look sweet” He handed her the dress, which she smiled and took into a fitting room. She took off her tattered rags and slipped on the dress, careful to keep a close watch on the wallet. The dress was sparkly and came to her mid thigh, with spaghetti straps. Lilly would have preferred something else, like jeans and a t-shirt, but the dress was okay. If Mr. Diamond was kind enough to buy her new clothes, the polite thing to do would be to wear them.
The curtains of the fitting room were pulled open and Diamond's hand appeared, holding some sexy high heels. “Try these on with the dress, Little Mama.” He shook them at her. She took them and reluctantly put them on. They were matching purple and about six-inches-high. She studied herself in the mirror. She looked sexy all right. She turned to see Diamond leering at her.
"Oh, Little Mama, you are looking good! Now all we need to do is fix your hair and make up.” He proceeded over to the cosmetics counter and picked out some lipsticks. “Come here, Little Mama.” He took a tiny lipstick tube and painted a bright red mouth on Lilly. “Now, do this.” he rubbed his lips together. She did as he asked.
"All right! Little Mama is hot.” He pulled out a huge wad of cash and began to pay for the goods. “Are you ready to go, Little Mama?"
"Yes, just let me get my things."
"Oh, those dirty rags? Leave them on the floor, Little Mama, this is your new life now."
"I just have to get one thing.” Lilly remembered her father's wallet she had left on the floor of the dressing room. She went to retrieve it.
Diamond followed her. “What's that?” He spied the wallet and wrinkled his brow.
"This is my father's.” Lilly replied meekly.
"Did you steal this when you ran away?” Diamond took it out of her hand and opened it. He saw the cash and whistled. “You know what, Little Mama, let me hold this for you for safe keeping. Those mean streets get dangerous, especially for a young pretty girl like yourself. Just let me hang on to it for a while."
Lilly grudgingly agreed. Diamond was going to take care of her after all. Maybe he was right; the streets were not a safe place for a girl to be carrying money around. Diamond was going to be a gentleman and save it for her.
They left the store and proceeded to his car parked on the boulevard. He unlocked the door of his red Lincoln Continental and motioned for her to get in. They drove down the filthy, bizarre street. He reached over and patted her leg, just the way her father had done. She naturally jumped away.
Diamond laughed knowingly. “Don't worry, Little Mama. I don't know whose been roughing you up before, but your with Diamond now, and I'm gonna protect you and take real good care of you. Real good.” He flashed her a big smile, his gold tooth twinkling at her. She smiled back. Lilly always wanted someone to protect her and now, for the first time in her life, she had found such a person.

The steaming water from the shower rolled off their intertwined bodies. Tongues darted out of one another's mouths, hands exploring each other's secret places. Angela hadn't touched an erect penis in years, and the experience was extremely pleasurable. His hands traced the soft underside of her breasts and lightly ran his fingertips across her blossoming nipples. She felt his hardness digging into her thigh. Joe picked her up by the waist with his strong arms and leaned her against the slippery tile wall of the hot shower. She lifted her leg so he could enter her, her stomach quivering.
His penetration was like a paradise she had long forgotten. She moaned with pleasure. Joe kissed her hard on the mouth, and she reached down to softly tickle his balls. He groaned loudly. Angela felt her body start to quake with orgasm. Joe continued
his thrusting in rapid jabbing motions until they both climaxed simultaneously, the warm water dripping down their already drenched nakedness. Angela realized that she had missed the sensation of masculine hands exploring her soft curves, and feeling coarse chest hair tickling her sensitive breasts.
She kissed Joe lustfully, her hands traveling down his muscular back all the way down to his tight buns. She eyed him seductively. “So, what's for breakfast?” she asked, nibbling his neck.
"You.” he told her, rubbing his lips against hers, pressing his well-developed chest against her soft breasts.
The telephone rang, they ignored it, wanting to prolong the delicious waterlogged afterglow. Angela couldn't believe what had just happened. She never felt so alive, free and reckless. Joe brought out all the impetuous feelings she had long since buried. Joe gazed at her with his hypnotic blue eyes, and she sensed that he could see right through her. Could her soul-mate really be a man? The telephone rang again. They continued to ignore it.
"Maybe we should see what's going on.” Angela tried to pry herself away from Joe's arms.
"No, they can wait.” Joe held her firmly and nuzzled her earlobe.
"Joe!” Angela giggled, not really trying to get away.
"Nice butt.” He playfully squeezed her butt cheeks, while she returned the favor. The telephone rang a third time. Joe reached behind her and turned the shower off. They stepped out of the shower onto the thick plush carpet.
"Not that I want you to cover up that beautiful body or anything.” Joe winked, handing her a huge fluffy towel. She stuck her tongue out at him while she dried herself.
The telephone rang for a fourth time. Joe grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his waist. “I'll be right back.” He kissed her once more. “Not that I want to go.” He grabbed her and nestled his face in her wet hair.
She roguishly shoved him away. “Oh, for God's sake, answer the phone.” she chided, and continued to dry herself.
He went to get the phone. She heard him answer it and overheard Joe's side of the conversation. From what she heard it did not sound good. She wrapped the towel around her body and analyzed Joe's distressed expressions as he continued to talk on the phone.
"There's been some sort of accident.” Joe covered the mouthpiece with his hand and whispered to Angela, who was busy towel drying her hair.
She threw down the towel and promptly grabbed her clothes. She wondered where Beverly was in all the excitement. “My God, what happened?” Angela was quickly jerking on her clothes. Joe gave her the ‘in a minute’ gesture with his index finger. Shit, this was all she needed to deal with now.
"Okay, Dad, I'll be right up.” Joe put the receiver down and reached for his jeans.
"What happened?” Angela asked again.
"There was a fight. My father is not clear on all the details, but somebody was taken away in an ambulance. We should head up there.” Joe pulled on his polo.
"Who was taken away in an ambulance?” Angela was panicked now.
"I don't know, let's go find out.” Joe pulled Angela to him and held her close “I'm sure what ever it is, it'll be all right."
"I hope so.” Angela sighed. At this point, she wasn't sure about anything.

Stephen hung up the phone and tried his best to calm Shelly, who was hysterical. Beverly stood close by, a reassuring arm around the girl. Jason was going to be fine, he just had a little concussion and needed a few stitches. He should be back from the hospital in an hour. Andrew called the hotel from the hospital to give them the low down.
He rode in the ambulance with his son, and was with Jason when he regained consciousness on the way to the emergency room. Justin had summoned Shelley and Beverly to his room to give them the news. Donnie was nowhere to be found.
Shelly had burst into tears upon hearing of the morning's events. She was frightened for her life, for she was positive that Donnie was going to blame her and make her sorry. Even though he wasn't going to mention it, Stephen was concerned about Shelly too. Everybody was worried about Lilly, who was still missing.
Beverly left Shelly's side for a moment to check on Justin, who sat in a chair looking pensive. “Are you okay?” She pulled up a chair and sat next to him.
"I missed his head by one inch, one inch!” Justin murmured with indignation, punching his fist into his palm.
Beverly gently rubbed his back. “It's not your fault, don't blame yourself.” she consoled sweetly.
"Yeah, but it should have been that asshole in the hospital, instead of my bro.” Justin hung his head and ran his hands through his curly black hair.
"The man is psycho. Be grateful that it was just a whack in the head and not a bullet to the brain.” Beverly hugged him around the shoulder. He collapsed into her, frustrated with himself. She put her arms around him and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
"Thanks.” He looked up at her, his ebony eyes gazing deeply into her electric blue ones.
"Sure.” She smiled sweetly, lost in the moment of their awkward embrace. Just then, Joe and Angela burst into the room, startling everyone. Beverly looked up and noticed Angela's hair was wet, and Angela noticed Beverly and Justin cozy in the corner.
"Uncle Stephen, what's going on? My dad told me to get up here, there was some sort of emergency.” Joe rushed over to his uncle, who quickly took him aside and quietly explained the situation to him. Angela saw his eyes widen with disbelief. She looked over at Justin and Beverly. Shelly sat alone on the corner of the bed, softly weeping.
"Jason had to go to the hospital, that asshole attacked him.” Beverly told Angela somberly.
"The country fuck?” Angela inquired. Beverly and Justin nodded their heads at the same time.
"When?"
"This morning, about a half hour ago. Donnie hit Justin in the head with a lamp and ran out the door. We can't find him. And Lilly is still missing.” Beverly explained.
"Jesus, I'm sorry, Bev.” Angela remembered that she was busy a half hour ago. Oh shit!
"I wish you would have been here. We really could have used you, Miss. I'm-going-to-be-a-doctor and all.” Beverly told her, looking hurt.
"I'm not up on my first aid techniques, Bev.” Angela snorted. What was she getting at?
"So, where were you this morning? I really could have used your emotional support. This was a very upsetting time for us.” Beverly explained, still rubbing Justin's shoulder.
"I was sleeping in.” Angela answered, avoiding eye-contact with Beverly.
"Really? I called the room and Paul said that you were out."
"I took a walk on the beach."'
"Oh.” Beverly nodded her head slightly and turned her attention back to Justin.
He was taking this way too hard. He obviously cared very deeply for his twin. “Jason was actually very lucky. The whole thing could have been much worse.” Beverly told him reassuringly. He took her hand and kissed it. She felt butterflies in her stomach. Angela looked on.
Just then John strode forcefully into the room. He went over to where his son and brother were standing, whispered something, and then the three men abruptly exited.
Angela looked on, bewildered. Was Joe going to fuck her and never speak to her again? She knew men were pieces of shit. Why did she let this happen? She looked over to Justin and Beverly. “Look, I'm starved. Why don't we go get some breakfast? It's been a crazy morning for all of us.” Angela suggested, hoping to get her mind back where it belonged.
"You just went for a walk on the beach. How crazy is that?” Beverly glared at her.
Angela turned her attention to the others. “Justin, Shelly? Are you guys hungry? How about breakfast at that little cafe by the pool, on me?"
"On you? Sounds good to me!” Justin spoke up, coming back to life. Shelly nodded her head meekly.
Screw Joe, if he was going to ignore her. She was going to have some fun anyway. The weekend was not over yet.
CHAPTER 9
Donnie was doing about ei
ghty on the freeway. He had no idea where he was, and no idea where he was going. He found a half empty bottle of Jack Daniels on the floor of the car, from last night, and quickly chugged it. The whiskey tasted like sweet nectar, and now life was a little easier to handle. Just who the hell did those snooty Negro men think they were dealing with? Being all hoity toity and flashing a badge at him. Trying to take him down with fancy karate kicks. Nobody made a chump out of Donnie McCoy.
He had sped away in his car after the incident took place. The whereabouts of his wife and daughter were of no concern to him. He wished he could talk to his new friend John Smith, who he met last night in the hotel bar. Now that was a smart man, teaching him the ways of the world and how to deal with women. He just wished he had some of that ‘roofie’ when his stupid sister was alive. Now he would have slipped her some of that instead of the stuff he did give her. Man, what a bitch that was. Having to break into the veterinarian's office and stealing some of that fancy horse tranquilizer, Succynolcholene or what ever it was called. All he had to do was sneak the stuff into her iced tea, and presto, she was out like a light, never to wake up again.
And to think that it happened in the bathtub of all places. Everybody thought she had slipped and hit her head in the bathtub and drowned. How lucky could you get!
Now all of a sudden these snobby city people wanted to talk to him. Well, they had to catch him first. The wail of a police siren interrupted Donnie's thought process. He glanced in the rear view mirror and saw the police cruiser with the flashing red lights right behind him. Sheet! He slowly pulled over. Now what could this be about?
Donnie sat stoically as the young patrolman approached his car, motioning for Donnie to roll down his window. “Good morning, sir. Do you know why I'm pulling you over?” The policeman asked politely. He was young, handsome and African American. The Negroes were everywhere, all out to get him.
"No, sir.” Donnie answered pleasantly.
"You were speeding, sir. You were doing about ninety miles an hour."
"I'm sorry, I guess I didn't think.” Donnie grinned, sheepishly.
