Susie kneeled down in front of Julian, keeping her green eyes locked on his blue pools. Her nimble fingers undid his belt and the front of his jeans quickly, the man watching her with a combination of surprise and appreciation. There was rarely a man who would say no to what she wanted to do, and she was glad he didn’t want to argue with her about it. She wanted him in her mouth. Susie pushed down his boxers and gasped a little as his hard cock stood before her, erect and ready. It was bigger than she had expected, and it made her spine tingle with anticipation. Nothing like a big werebear with a big cock, especially if it was Julian Arder. She kissed the base of his shaft and slowly moved up, her tongue leaving a slow, tormenting track behind. He shuddered under her touch and she couldn’t help but smile a little.

Finally, she was going to have him. She had spent far too much time crying after their failed love, and this one hot night had the power to turn it all around. Susie was sure of it. She moved upwards until her mouth hovered just above the head, her tongue swirling across it. A drop of precum made her mouth taste salty, but she savored it. Her hands went up to his hips and abs as she took him in her mouth, his size filling her quickly. She moaned again as she started bobbing up and down on him slowly, not getting too far down because of how big he was. His reaction was delicious, though, and her own heat only grew and burned hotter as she got her first taste of his cock. Every time she moved down his length, she imagined him thrusting into her pussy, filling her with his size. Julian’s hands gripped her hair, pulling it out of the ponytail and letting her long blonde locks flow freely around her shoulders.

The warmth of the fire filled the room with a distinct smell, hiding the scent of two bodies in heat. Susie had closed her eyes, losing herself in the act of pleasuring him, when strong hands pulled her up. Julian kissed her with primal need, mashing his tongue against hers in a scene of pure lust. Julian stepped out of his now useless jeans. Before she knew to protest, he had scooped her up and carried her over to the couch as if she weighed no more than a feather. Her hands clasped around his neck and he set her down gently, getting on top of her a split second later with the speed of a man much smaller than he. Susie groaned and her back arched as Julian undid the button on her jeans, and his hand slipped between her panties and her skin. He left no room for shyness, showing her exactly what he would do to her.

His fingers glided across her soft, yearning heat. The wet folds parted in the path of his thick fingers and he rubbed her clit with slow, meticulous motions while he sucked on her nipples. His teeth grazed the sensitive flesh and she yelped a little, more out of expectation than anything else. There was a lot of wildness in him, a lot more than she had dared to expect from the urban billionaire. You could take the werebear out of Montana, but you couldn’t take the Montana out of the werebear. It wasn’t fun if it wasn’t just a little bit dangerous, after all. Julian quickly pulled off her jeans and panties, leaving her naked in front of him. He paused for a moment, taking in her plush curves and the soft swell of her breasts. Julian smiled gently, his need pushed down from the surface for a trifling of a moment.

“You’re gorgeous, Susie,” he said, and it almost made her want to well up with tears.

Damn this man and his flair for the dramatic, she thought, grinning back at him.

Julian lowered down on top of her again, parting her knees with a gentle hand. She groaned in anticipation, hooking her legs around his hips. But instead of plunging right into her, he took his time with teasing her. He let one hand slip between her legs again, and she trembled madly as his thick digits pushed into her tunnel, feeding her hunger for him. Julian started pumping in and out of her with his fingers, his thumb rubbing her clit with just the right amount of pressure. Her muscles flexed, and her body was overcome with ecstasy. He knew exactly which buttons to push with her and the desperately yearned for release that she had needed for so long was close to her. Susie’s eyes fluttered closed and her nails scraped at his arms, both pulling him more into her and pushing him away. It seemed like too much to take, but just the thought of letting him pull out before her peak could rush over her made her open herself up more.

When the moment came, Susie’s vision was dimmed by brilliant lights, and her head hummed with the power of a thousand waves, her orgasm washing over her and claiming her whole. Her pussy milked his fingers and he pulled out of her, leaving her wet and wanting. Julian wouldn’t leave her alone for too long, the thick head of his cock soon pressing into her and filling the void he had left. She screamed like a wildcat as he sunk into her with small thrusts, giving her time to adjust to him, to take him even when her body was experiencing the greatest high she had ever known. Her nails clutched at his back, and Susie buried her face into his neck as Julian’s strokes grew harder bit by bit. She was gasping for breath, the intensity of her release and his size stretching her thin and threatening to break her right then and there. But, he wouldn’t allow that. One of Julian’s arms bowed around her shoulders, pulling her into him tightly as he rutted into her. She disappeared in his arms, his big, hot body covering her. Susie had never felt more feminine, and the realization was dizzying.

Her teeth sunk into his firm shoulder, and her nails raked his back, threatening to draw blood. His low, agonizing growls sent shivers down her spine, her moans mingling with the primal sound to create a perfect soundtrack to the experience. She loved the feeling of his tight, firm back underneath her fingertips and the strain that made him flex like a strung bow. Every piece of her was disappearing into the moment, and she knew he was right there with her. His strokes grew harder and faster, and Susie clenched around him, feeling his need flame hers as well. The thought of finally being with him, coming together as one, was exhilarating, and his talented touch helped a lot as well.

I can’t wait to make up for the last ten years, she thought feverishly, her moans growing to a crescendo. They collapsed into their release together, Julian’s arms holding Susie against him like he never wanted to let go as he emptied into her. Susie milked his cock, her head thrown back in the throes of ecstasy as she experienced another smaller, but just as delicious orgasm. She didn’t worry about anything happening. Werebears were a curious bunch, but if you intended to live around them, you learned about their habits fast. The season wasn’t upon them yet, and that knowledge alone was more effective than any birth control.

When she could finally gather herself enough to look up at him, she was met by a wide grin.

“What?” she asked breathlessly, still heaving from the intensity of what had happened. She’d never come from penetration like that, and she wasn’t sure the realization of what Julian could do to her had quite hit her yet.

“You. You’re beautiful. I love you like this,” he said, laying a kiss on her neck and then on her lips. Her cheeks were glowing and she felt more relaxed than she had ever before, just lying there with Julian, surrounding her with a blanket of care and affection.

“Whatever that was, I want more of it,” Susie said and they both laughed. Julian caught her off-guard with another kiss, a devilish glint appearing in his eyes.

“Well, I’m game if you’re game.”

  How could I not be?

  CHAPTER SEVEN

Julian woke up slowly, the light of the early morning sun stirring him from his well-deserved slumber. He was just about to roll over to his other side and pull his hot, curvy bedmate into his loving arms, when his consciousness decided to shake him up with a start. There was no one in bed next to him. Julian was up in a fraction of a second, sitting in the middle of his big, plush bed. He blinked the sleep from his eyes, looking around groggily. If there was one thing to be said about a night of passionate lovemaking then it was that it really tuckered a bear out. Julian half-yawned, half-groaned, feeling his muscles ache a little from the masterful gymnastics he had put himself and Susie through during the night. He felt a bit off, like something was very wrong, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. Something had shifted in the universe and it
wasn’t for the better.

Who knew she was that bendy… Now, where is she? I want to see if she can do that thing with her tongue again, he wondered through his tired haze.

He pushed the covers off and slid out of bed, grabbing for a pair of jeans along the way. Julian plucked a black t-shirt from a chair on his way out, pulling it on as he searched through the cottage for his tasty companion.

Should I be saying mate? Or is that too soon?

“Susie? Susie, where are you?” he hollered, making his way to the kitchen. He found two sandwiches sitting on a plate with a glass of juice and a note next to them. Hunger hadn’t even crossed his mind before he saw the display, his hands reaching for both a sandwich and the note at the same time. He read the few lines while he chewed on the ham and cheese on rye (his favorite!), a scowl marring his brows. While his usual routine of checking stocks and calling his VPs for status updates was fun and all, he had banked on getting to spend that particular morning with the sassiest blonde in town, and he was more than a little disappointed to not find her within arm’s reach.

‘Off to work. Eat your breakfast. Come by later?

  - Susie’

“Why not ‘come by now’?” Julian said to himself out loud, ignoring the fact that one night with a good woman had turned him into a sap in two seconds flat. He had lived his whole dating life according to the ‘wait three days until you call her’ and ‘don’t seem too interested’ rule, but he had no desire to do that with Susie. She was all he wanted, all he could think about, and he wanted her to know that – the sooner the better. The more the better, even, especially now that he was pretty certain that she shared his stance on the topic.

Julian gulped down the glass of orange juice and was out the door faster than a speeding train. He picked up his leather jacket from the floor, and it brought a smile to his lips. Last night had gone much better than he had expected. Susie had been all he had hoped for and so much more. She’d grown into a beautiful, confident woman who knew her place in the world and didn’t need a man to tell her what her worth was. He considered himself lucky that she allowed him to love her. Suffice to say, Julian Arder was smitten, well and good. The same kind of flutter went through his spine as he had felt when he was a teenager and on his way to see her. But, something still felt wrong. It filled him with a sense of ominous dread, making him all the more eager to see Susie. He revved up the truck and sped out of the driveway, counting the minutes until he could see her again. It was all a bit sappy, and he would have heckled anyone else for behaving like he was, but it didn’t matter. He was a man given back his lease on love, and he wasn’t about to waste it.

The road to Bear’s Grove went through the thick forests and up and down steep mountainsides, a trek that was by no means short. He’d had a guy from town bring up Susie’s car the night before so she could get moving in the morning without having to rely on him, though he cursed his damned sensibilities now. It would have been so much more fun just curling up with her under the covers and showing her how much he desired every bit of her. Even if there was a clan of rabid werebears running around, threatening life as he knew it.

Maybe my priorities aren’t set quite as well as they should be, Julian thought to himself with a smirk. He was just rounding a corner on the most secluded strip of road between his house and Bear’s Grove, when something out of place caught his attention at the side of the road. When he got closer, his stomach dropped. It was Susie’s blue Ford pickup with the driver’s window smashed in and the keys still in the ignition. Julian stopped his truck in the middle of the road, tires screeching in protest to the way he slammed on the breaks.

He jumped out of the car and ran to the driver’s side door. The door was dented and long claw marks ran down its side, the ground littered with broken glass. It was a small condolence that he couldn’t see any blood. His insides boiled with rage and his senses kicked in, the bear who always lurked just underneath given permission to rise. Julian’s eyes flashed deep brown for a moment and he gritted his teeth, nostrils flaring to catch any whiff of her scent. Someone had taken Susie, and that someone did not have good intentions. He whipped around, his surroundings disappearing into the backdrop of his mind and only the path that would lead him to her becoming clear and distinct.

Julian rarely allowed the bear so much free roam, but now was no time to doubt. Dozens of dark thoughts threatened in the recesses of his mind, each more horrific than the last. He broke into a run, heading into the forest. There were no footsteps, no distinct sign of a struggle past the first few steps from the car, but his body knew exactly where to go. Like he had been driven from home to go find her, the bear was now leading him right to her.

If this is Ryder’s work, I’m going to rip his fucking throat out with my bare hands. Bear or no bear, he thought, his body burning with rage. The route he was taking was leading him right towards the area Ryder’s people inhabited, and it did little to soothe his worries. The blood in his veins felt thick and grainy, every inch of him demanding to find who had taken Susie, and then to hurt him. Hurt him bad.

Her scent and her presence became clearer with each step, Julian plowing through the forest like a man possessed. His breath rose in puffs, the air cold but the man and the bear within him paying it no heed. Suddenly, he heard a noise in the distance, and a cold chill struck through him. It was Susie’s voice, and she was cursing at someone, loudly. Julian ran faster than he had previously thought possible, and when Susie’s long blonde ponytail came into view over the bushes in the distance, his heart both leapt and sunk at the same time. Before he had a chance to come within range of them, the man holding Susie by her arm and dragging her after him had turned around, snarling at Julian. Susie looked both surprised and enraged at the predicament she had found herself in, and Julian wouldn’t have expected any less. He was sure that she would have clawed the guy’s eyes out already if given even the slightest chance.

“Julian!” she yelped as they all came to a stop in a small clearing in the middle of the woods.

“Susie, are you alright?” Julian asked, his voice low and hard as his eyes stayed transfixed on the man who had decided to rob his woman. She nodded, tugging her arm away from the man’s grip. He let go of her, but only because she was too far from Julian to make a break for it. She was shoved behind his back, and Julian could sense the anger that rose from Susie like a red aura.

“Yes, I am. My ass of an ex-boyfriend thought this is the best way to get me back. What the hell do you want, Drake?” she hissed, while the men stared at each other with all the animosity in the world. Drake grinned wickedly, showing his white teeth. Julian’s eyes shifted to a deep chestnut brown again, his bear dangerously close now.

I won’t let anything happen to her again.

“I thought we talked about this, Susie,” Drake said slyly, his hands balling into fists. “If I can’t have you, no one can have you. And Ryder doesn’t like you sniffing in your books too much. Besides, I hear your boy toy here doesn’t like to shift. What’s he going to do to stop me? Throw money at me?” The hairs on Julian’s neck stood up, rage almost blinding him now. He’d been young and dumb once and let his own foolishness take him away from the love of his life, but he wasn’t about to let that happen again.

“I wouldn’t even need to be a bear to kick your ass, punk,” Julian growled. The other man roared in anger, and within seconds the shift took them both. Julian’s bear was allowed control, and he knew he would revel in every blow he landed on the man who dared threaten his happiness.

It felt like his body was being torn apart and then put back together again as he shifted. His muscles expanded in every direction and thick brown hairs sprouted from his skin, covering him in an impressive hide. The hairs were slightly lighter at the ends, giving him a silver glow that resembled his blonde hair. A pained roar echoed from his throat as his skull turned from human to bear, long teeth ripping out of his jaw and giving him the ferocious maw of a huge grizzly. Julian had
n’t shifted since he was a teenager, and the change was both excruciatingly painful and so incredibly familiar and soothing at the same time. He had been a man desperately trying to keep his two sides apart for far too long. Now, he was allowing himself to become whole again, to accept his wild and his reasonable sides as one undeniable duality.

Terrifying dark nails clawed at the ground as Julian tried to quickly acclimate himself to the almost indefinable power that came with his bear form. He wasn’t given much time to get used to it though, Susie’s surprised yelp drawing all of his focus. Drake had tried to swipe at her again, making Susie back up quickly.

Never again, Julian thought darkly, forcing himself to harness the power he had always had but never dared use. He charged at the equally large Kodiak, his teeth bared and a growl in his throat. The two bears collided against one another, jaws snapping in an attempt to catch flesh. They reared up on their back legs, towering like giants above Susie. She retreated out of harm’s way, Julian catching her worried gaze. It was obvious that Julian was rusty in his newfound body, but Susie was just the kind of motivation he needed to make him push through towards victory.

Drake’s teeth gnashed into Julian’s shoulder and he moaned in pain, a lightning bolt of agony shooting through him. It cleared his mind immediately, forcing his worry for Susie into the backdrop. If he split his attention between her and Drake, he’d lose for sure.

  Focus.

Julian backed up a few steps before plowing into Drake again, his nails dragging a long gash across Drake’s cheek. Blood splattered on the ground from the bear’s wound, but Julian didn’t notice that it wasn’t only Drake’s. His shoulder was bleeding as well, the dark red in stark contrast with the lush green and orange shrubs. Drake howled, more from rage than pain, and pushed back violently. They were caught in an endless spiral of lunging at one another and then backing away again, inflicting wound after wound on each other. Neither one of them had a clear advantage, but bit by bit Julian was coming into his own. His movements became more natural and he could focus his strength better, react faster with each minute that passed.
