“To answer Gina’s question, my doctor said I can have sex, but I can’t balance on this arm or lift anything heavier than a paperclip with it for six weeks.”

Gina grinned at Zach and then climbed on the bed. “Well then, I guess I’ll have to be on top.”

“That could be fun,” said Zach.

“More for me than you,” said Harrison, his gaze roving over Gina.

Zach glanced at the door, rose from his chair, and closed it. When he took a seat again, he gave Gina a grin full of lust. “I’m picturing Gina straddling you, fucking you, and my dick in her mouth at the same time.”

Gina moaned. There was no way to help it. “Or, we could try me on top of Harrison and your dick in my ass.”

Both men exchanged a glance that was half shock, half raw animal desire.

“I like the way you think,” said Harrison. “But that’s not fair. How do I get in on that anal action with only one arm?”

“You still can with me on top of you,” said Gina. “They do it in the porn movies.”

Zach laughed. “She’s perfect. Absolutely perfect.”

Harrison moaned. “Hey, out there, can I go home right now?” He yelled the question very loudly, and Gina and Zach laughed so hard they almost choked on their food.

They stayed late into the evening, and during that time Harrison had a steady stream of Racy cops in and out of his room. They teased him good-naturedly, and she felt a warm glow deep in her gut watching his interaction with them. It was obvious he was well liked and respected by his peers.

Chad stopped by and shared with them the fact that they had several leads on the man who had shot Harrison and the other officers. By the time she and Zach finally left, Gina was wishing she’d called in sick for the following day as well.

“How will you get home tomorrow if they discharge you?” she asked.

“My mom will pick me up.”

“All right. Call us when you’re home so we know you’re okay.”

  “I will, Gina.”

When Zach stepped out into the hallway to talk to Chad, Gina put her arms around him and hugged as tightly as she dared to, being careful of his left shoulder and chest. “I’m so sorry this happened to you.”

  “I’ll be all right, Gina.”

“I know, but it still sucks.”

He kissed the top of her head. “It’s better knowing I have you to look forward to when we can all get together again.”

She pulled away and looked into his eyes for a long time. What she saw there made her wonder if he wasn’t still feeling the effects of his pain medication. Harrison was looking at her the way a man would look at a woman he loved. She shook away the thought. She couldn’t go there right now. There were too many emotions competing for attention at the same time, and she was still confused about her own feelings.

“Gina, thank you for spending so much time with me today.”

“It was a perfect day because I was with both of you.”

“Good night, beautiful Gina. I wish I was sleeping in your arms.”

She kissed him. “You will be soon enough.”

Wednesday morning at work went easier than Gina had anticipated. She spent a lot of time texting both Zach and Harrison, and in the afternoon Olivia stopped by to let her know that Harrison was home, safe and sound. She closed the door of Gina’s office and perched on the desk.

“Why didn’t I know how involved you were with my brother until Monday night?”

Gina averted her gaze. She knew Olivia wasn’t upset, but she still felt guilty that she hadn’t said anything to her. “Olivia, everything happened so fast that I’ve barely had time to process it myself. I’m really sorry.”

“No apology necessary. I’m happy about it. Although, and this is none of my business, but what is going on with you and Zachary Kincaid? You looked pretty chummy at the hospital.”

Gina glanced toward the office door. When they’d set up the temporary quarters at the warehouse, it hadn’t been with actual walls for the offices. If you spoke loudly enough inside any of them, the person on the other side of the partition could hear everything you said. “Not in here.”

Olivia nodded. “Okay. We need a girls’ night out anyway. We haven’t had one since the night Cherilyn was kidnapped. Luke’s Bar is reopening Friday night. We should go.”

“We are going. That is, Zach, Harrison and I are. Why don’t you and Cherilyn come with us?”

Olivia pouted. “I just talked to her. She’s going with Thayer and Evan. I don’t want to be the fifth wheel.”

“Olivia, don’t be silly. You’re our friend, and I owe you an explanation. That is, if I can figure it out myself. You’re coming with us and that is that.”

  * * * *

Olivia drove to Gina’s house the night Luke’s Bar reopened, and while they waited for Zach and Harrison to pick them up, Gina told her everything that was going on with both men. Olivia was surprised, but she didn’t seem to be unhappy about it. She kept repeating two things. That Gina was lucky, and that she hoped this was what they all wanted.

Gina suspected she was worried about how Harrison felt, and finally persuaded her to talk to her brother. Olivia said she wasn’t sure she could, but that she’d think about it. Gina reflected how odd it was that Olivia had always told Harrison everything, whether or not he wanted to hear it, but yet she didn’t feel comfortable talking to him about his involvement with her and Zach. Then Gina tried to imagine having a conversation like that with Vito, and she suddenly understood how awkward Olivia felt.

Luke’s Bar was packed when they arrived. Gina, Harrison, Zach, and Olivia were lucky to snag a table. Luke, Alexa, and Chase had done an amazing job with the new space. It was almost twice as large as the previous place on Market Street, and while they’d kept the décor the same, it now boasted a larger bar and better lighting.

Luke and Chase were dressed in tuxes, and Alexa was stunning in a forest-green cocktail dress. Her diamond necklace, which was actually her sub collar, went perfectly with the outfit. Adison and Noah Wells, Kari Tye’s other Dom, were also in tuxes, and Kari was dressed in a maroon cocktail dress that showed off the amazing rosebush tattoo above her left breast. All four were on hand to greet the guests, and as she made her way past them with Olivia, Zach, and Harrison, Gina wondered what it was like to live with two Doms.

Cherilyn came running over, followed by Thayer and Evan, and Gina hugged her friend. She looked so happy, and it was difficult for Gina not to tear up as she noticed Cherilyn’s enthusiasm and her bright smile. When Evan and Thayer became engaged in conversation with Harrison and Zach, Cherilyn told Gina and Olivia how she’d put her townhouse up for sale and had moved in with Thayer. Evan was in the process of doing the same thing.

When Gina asked how she was doing with the flashbacks and nightmares she’d had at first, Cherilyn told her that both men kept her so busy in and out of the bedroom that there were days when she didn’t even think about Jay Nichols. They also accompanied her to therapy appointments with Julie, and Cherilyn said that was helping a great deal.

Gina had so many questions for Cherilyn about the life she now led, but this wasn’t the time. Up until Cherilyn had become involved with Thayer and Evan, she’d been new to this lifestyle as well. She seemed like the perfect person to talk to right now. Maybe they’d have time to go to lunch one day?

When Olivia left them to go mingle, Gina asked Zach and Harrison if they knew Cherilyn had moved in with Thayer. They said they’d just heard it tonight from Thayer, and then Maddox came over to talk to the guys, so Gina never had the chance to ask further questions.

Was that where she was headed with Zach and Harrison? Would one of them want her to move in with them? Could she really handle something that intense? Zach had told her this was a lifestyle, and he wanted nothing less than total commitment from a sub. She now knew that Harrison felt the same way. Was she truly ready for that? They hadn’t had sex since Harrison had be
en shot, and she missed them both very much. But what they wanted from her was more than sex. They wanted her total submission.

Gina sipped her drink and watched Kari and Alexa as they stood side-by-side with their Doms and talked to guests. There was nothing overtly obvious about their submission. Aside from the collars both wore—Alexa’s diamonds and Kari’s delicate necklace sporting a trio of hearts on a thin chain—the signs of dominance in their men were subtle. Was that because they now knew each other so well, or was it because Gina was imagining all sorts of things that simply weren’t true? Was she looking for clichéd signs that weren’t practiced in real life?

They were all so open with their lifestyle, but then, they could be. None of them had to hide it at work they way Gina and Zach now had to. Even Harrison was able to be open about it at work. Would that matter to Zach in the long run? Gina imagined it would only if Bernie found out. Gina glanced around. Neither Bernie nor his supporters were here, but then she hadn’t expected they would be. As far as she could tell, Zach was the only councilperson here.

She spotted Marisol Santiago with Ellis McCree and Rafe Rodriguez, Luke’s older brother. She knew Marisol from work because she was a court reporter. She was now also a sub to both Ellis and Rafe. No one at work gossiped about her and her relationship with both men. At least, not that Gina had ever heard, and Gina usually heard all the gossip eventually. But it would be different for her and Zach than it was for Marisol because they reported directly to Bernie. They were held to a different standard because of their respective roles.

Across the room, Julie Carruthers was talking to Annalise Kerr. Julie was a sub to Maddox McCree and Sean, and Annalise was to Chad and Dustin Alexander, the vet who owned the Racy Animal Clinic. A nice chunk of Racy’s BDSM crowd was here tonight. If Gina wanted to observe the dynamics of a day-to-day Dom/sub relationship in action, this was the place and the night to do so.

  “You look deep in thought.”

Gina turned and smiled into Zach’s eyes. “Just thinking about stuff.”

He stroked her arms, and his touch sent shivers up and down her spine. “Such as?”

“Well, honestly, I’m thinking about what it must be like to live with two Doms. I’ve been watching Kari, Alexa, Julie, Annalise, and Marisol quite a bit. There’s nothing obvious about their submission.”

The corners of his mouth turned up. “What were you expecting to see, Gina?”

She shrugged slightly. “I’m not sure.”

Harrison walked over from where he’d been speaking with Sean and Chad. “Hey, interesting news. It seems an employee at Busler’s who was recently fired is the same employee who Les Loveless let go last month for stealing.”

“Do you think it’s the same guy who set the fires?”

“He looks better than anyone else right now. Sean also said things were a bit hinky at Busler’s. Did you know Sylvia’s husband works there now?”

Zach raised his eyebrows. “Is that so? I thought he was in the comptroller’s office?”

“He was let go in March.” Gina cut her gaze to Harrison. Had he known that? “I heard through the grapevine there were allegations of embezzlement, but they couldn’t prove it. Still, it was enough that they didn’t want him in there anymore. Rafe Rodriguez took his place and he’s doing a fabulous job.”

Harrison frowned. “I didn’t realize Billy Cinder was now working for Claude Busler.”

“That means his wife hired him,” said Zach.

“I guess so,” said Gina. “Do they suspect anyone else besides this guy who was fired from both Busler’s and Racy Auto Detailing?” She wanted the focus off Sylvia.

Harrison shook his head. “Not yet.”

“How are the other officers who were shot?”

“They’re okay.” He brushed a finger across her cheek. “Are you okay tonight? You look a bit worried.”

“Gina is having a reality check watching all the subs in the room,” said Zach.

“Not exactly that,” she said. “More like I’m wondering if there’s something else I should be doing.”

“You could kneel at our feet,” said Zach, grinning at her.

  “Stop that. I’m serious.”

Zach pulled her close for a quick hug. “Oh, Gina. Don’t be, okay? Don’t worry over it, don’t analyze it, and don’t assume you’re doing anything wrong. We like you just the way you are, okay? As for protocol, we’ll talk about that later tonight.”

“What happens later tonight?” Her voice came out breathy, which accurately portrayed the level of desire coursing through her body at that moment.

Zach leaned close. “You, me, and Harrison are going to find out exactly which positions he can get into using only one arm. Remember what we talked about in his hospital room Tuesday? It’s time to put it into practice, Gina.”

Would she ever learn to simply relax and let this happen naturally? At least she had something later tonight to look forward to. The thought of climbing on top of Harrison and having his dick inside her pussy or her ass, while Zach’s was in another hole, nearly made Gina come. As much fun as this opening was, and as happy as she was for Luke that he’d been able to restore his business so quickly, all Gina wanted to do at that moment was crawl into bed with Harrison and Zach.

  Chapter Nineteen

Since they had driven Olivia to the bar, when it was time to leave Gina went in search of her, and found her laughing and talking to both Cameron Sinclair and Storm Jamison. The look on her face reminded Gina of the way she’d felt when Zach had first shown her his cartoon drawings of Bernie during their Monday morning meeting.

  “Oh, hi.” Olivia was beaming.

“Hi yourself. We’re taking off. Do you need a ride home?”

“We’ll drive her home, Gina,” said Cameron without a moment’s hesitation.

“Okay. I’ll call you tomorrow, Olivia.”

“Okay. Bye.” Olivia didn’t look the least bit fazed by this sudden turn of events. When Gina joined Harrison and Zach and they asked if Olivia was ready to go, Gina merely pointed toward the corner where her friend stood laughing with Cameron and Storm.

“Oh,” said Zach, raising his eyebrows. “I see.”

“She’s okay, right? I don’t really know them that well.”

Harrison smiled. “She’s fine. They’re good guys. Do you think I’d let my sister hang out with them otherwise?”

“They’re at the club a lot, right?”

Zach nodded. “All the time. But neither one has a sub right now and I promise you they won’t misbehave.”

“Well okay then.” She linked one hand around Zach’s arm and the other around Harrison’s uninjured one. “Let’s go play.”

Once they were in Zach’s house, he pulled Gina into a tight embrace and kissed her, rough and deep. By the time he released the embrace, she was breathless and her thong was soaked. “Okay. You asked about protocol. Here it is, Gina. From now on, when we’re out in public, we expect you by one of our sides unless you first ask permission to leave us.”

“Is that pretty standard? I’m only asking because I noticed several times tonight Julie and Cherilyn lean close to one of their Doms and whisper something before they walked away to speak to someone else.”

“For both of them, absolutely, but it varies. Did you also notice how Kari and Alexa both got drinks for their Doms?”

“Now that you mention it, yes.”

“Each Dom expects something different. As I said to you last week, we get to define what this relationship is.”

“We will let you know what we expect of you, Gina. Is that understood?” Gina liked this side of Harrison. It was sexy to see him step up and take the lead once in a while instead of Zach being the only one who did.

  “Yes, Sarge.”

Zach crooked his finger at her, and she followed him upstairs as he continued to speak. “Harrison and I didn’t discuss anything else that we want you to do at this point, aside from what you’re already doing. What w
e did agree on is that you’re overthinking this. We’re not sure what we can do about that, since it’s part of who you are.”

When they reached Zach’s bedroom, Harrison motioned for her to stand in the center of the room. She did so as she watched Zach go into his huge walk-in closet while he continued to talk. “And we’re fine with that. We understand that you only want to make sure you’re doing what we want you to do.”

Zach emerged, holding several things, among them what Gina first thought was a bouquet of purple roses. She blinked a few times, and when she focused on it again, she realized it was a flogger whose tails had dark-purple, leather rosebuds at the end.

“You like it?” He swung it a few times. “Sean has a similar one. He told me once how much Julie enjoyed it, so I bought one. But I’ve never used it, Gina. You’ll be the first.”

She swallowed hard. “Thank you, Sir.”

“Gina, come here.” Harrison took a seat on the edge of Zach’s bed. When she reached him, he put his good arm around her waist and pulled her closer. “Gina, we love you just the way you are. Honestly we do. You don’t have to try so hard. I’m new at this stuff, so I have no idea what to tell you protocol should be. But Zach isn’t. He’ll bring up something that needs to be discussed, when and if it needs to be, okay?”

She nodded instead of speaking, because she was still trying to recover from Harrison saying they loved her just the way she was. Granted, it was only an expression, but his using the word “loved” had given her hope, and now it wouldn’t let her go.

“Now, I’m afraid you’re going to have to help me get undressed.” His grin sent a wave of hot desire straight to her wet pussy. “I’m still not very skilled at only using one arm to do everything.” He nuzzled her neck and she moaned softly. “In fact, it’s interesting that you brought up Cherilyn moving in with Thayer. Just this morning I was wishing you lived with me, because trying to take a shower with one arm is a bitch.”

Gina’s arousal built to sudden, crazy heights at the thought of her and Harrison in the shower. He released her embrace, and she asked for permission to undress him. The grin he gave her had her wanting to rip his damn clothes off. He gave her permission, and she began to unbutton his shirt.
