Reclaiming What Is Mine

"You might as well tell me. In case you forgot, we do have cameras in the office," he reminded him with a smirk.

Bryon laughed. "Fine, we were just having a moment."

  "A sexual one."

"You know what? I will take you up on that offer, Jason. See you both tomorrow," I interrupted. I stuffed my panties into my purse then went to my desk and got my car keys.

Bryon came over to me and placed an arm around my waist. "Meet me at my place."

I smiled and walked out of the office. I could tell Bryon was watching me walk away. This time, I didn't have a problem with it at all.

  Bryon

I knew she was teasing me with the extra sway in her walk as she left. She just didn't know how sexy she was. I turned to Jason, who shook his head before going to his desk.

"You know I'm throwing out that table."

"I didn't mean for it to go that far."

  "At work, dude? Seriously!"

"Listen, Asia and I had a moment last night when everyone left, and we had another one a few minutes ago. At first, we agreed to be strictly professional, but now, I can't stay away from her. I don't want to."

"You're playing with fire, bro. Franklin is already on your ass about trying to hook up with Asia, and now that you have, I don't know if you should still be a part of this case."

"I said I wanted out, so this will be my way out."

"You could be in a lot of trouble with the Commissioner if he finds out about this. I'm not going to say anything, but you have to be careful, especially around him."

"I know, and I will. And like I said, after this case, I'm done."

Jason shook his head again. "You two couldn't have gone in the back room or something? You were all out in the open."

"I couldn't help it. You saw how she was looking."

"I'm not trying to look at another woman, especially a married woman, but from what you've told me about her marriage and what Dwight is capable of, maybe she needs someone who will treat her right."

"She really does. I want to be that man for her since her husband isn't."

The door opened and someone walked in we knew through pictures and videos. The guy we were after, who happened to be Asia's husband. I looked at Jason who was looking at Dwight.

"Hi. How may we help you?" I asked.

"Hey, is Asia here? I'm her husband, Dwight," he greeted, extending his hand to me. I didn't want to shake it, but I did to be nice.

"Hey. I'm Bryon, and that's my brother Jason. How are you?" I asked.

"Great. I left something in our car, but it looks as if she's not here. Did she go on a work errand or something?"

"You can't just call her?" I asked. Even though I couldn't care less, I had to pretend I was interested in the fact that he was trying to reach her.

"That's the thing; I left my phone in the car. I guess she didn't notice. I tried calling, but no one answered, so I came by."

I smiled, realizing it was him who was calling while I was pleasuring his wife.

"Well, you just missed her. She went to one of our clients to drop off a proposal. I'm not sure how long it'll take, so I told her to take the rest of the day off."

Dwight frowned. "Okay; well, I have to get back to work, so I'll just catch up with her later.

  "It was nice meeting you."

"You too," Dwight said, going to the door.

Once the door closed, Jason exhaled a long breath.

"Whoo! You know, instead of me coming in, he could have been the one walking in on you going down on his wife."

"And if he had and something went down, I would have either arrested him or killed him in self-defense," I said and went to my desk.

"Are you even going to tell Asia that Dwight came by?"

I grabbed my keys and looked at him. "Maybe, maybe not."

I walked out of the office and saw Dwight standing by someone's car, staring straight at me. I waved and then got in my car. If he thought for a second that something was up, he was right, in more ways than one.

  ***

After stopping by the store to pick up a few things, I arrived at my complex and saw Asia's car. I parked next to her, and she got out of her car.

"What took you so long?" she asked.

"Had to go to the store for a few things. I'm going to cook you something."

"Oh really? I didn't know you could cook."

"I can make a little something? How does grilled catfish, pasta and a salad sound?"

"Pretty good, as long as I can help."

  "No doubt."

I grabbed the bags from the trunk and let her walk in front of me to the door. I handed her my keys, and she opened the door. We walked inside, then I went to the kitchen while she stood by the wet bar.

"Your husband showed up at the office," I announced. Her eyes widened, and she sat down on one of the stools. "What? He doesn't even know where the office is."

"I guess he Googled it. Anyway, he was looking for his phone, so I told him you went to visit a client and wasn't sure how long you'd be."

"I have it in my purse; he always leaves his phone in the car. Wow, what if he'd came by while we were, you know...?"

I laughed. "Jason said the same thing."

"Bryon, I don't know about this. Now that Dwight knows where I work, he might drop by all the time."

"If he does, then he does. We have nothing to hide."

She looked ahead with a confused look.

  "Is something wrong?"

"I'm just wondering why he was so anxious to get his phone. He can take breaks, but usually, they're not long enough to go to another part of town. And how did he get there when I have the car?"

  "Probably a co-worker."

  She sighed. "It's probably nothing."

  "What?"

She reached into her purse and took out Dwight's phone. She hit a few keys to unlock it and looked at the home screen.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Something's not right. Usually, when he leaves his phone in the car, he'll just tell me to put it in my purse and he'll get it later. So he's hiding something on here."

"I doubt that. He probably just needs it."

"Nope. There's something going on," she disagreed, shaking her head.

She clicked the message icon then began going through his texts. I rubbed the back of my neck, not sure if I should stop her or let her continue.

"Maybe you should put the phone down."

"Why? I know I shouldn't be doing this, but if he's been hiding something from me, I need to know."

"You're kind of doing the same thing."

She glanced at me and sighed. "You're right, I am, but if he went through the trouble of tracking me down, he's hiding something."

I watched her as she continued looking through his texts. She stopped scrolling and tapped on the screen.

  "What is it?" I asked.

"It's a video sent from some girl named Tonya," she replied.

I walked closer to her and looked at the video she was watching. We saw something we weren't expecting: a video of Dwight and the girl having sex. They were both giving their all for the camera. Asia quickly turned off the video.

"Was that what I thought it was?!" she yelled.

  "Wow, Asia –"

"He's been cheating on me this entire time. While I was feeling guilty about just having a friendship with you, he was out screwing this girl!"

"How do you know it was recent?"

"It was dated six months ago."

She looked at the phone again with a smirk. "This is his damn co-worker."

  "How do you know?"

"I've seen her a couple of times when I went to the store; I just never knew her name. I guess that explains why he's been working late. He's been working all right."

  "Asia –"

"I slept with him recently! How can I be sure he used protection?!" She yelled. Her breathing became erratic, and I pulled her into my arms. She started to calm down, but I could tel
l she was still crying.

I held her tighter and she cried out her frustration. This was definitely a bad situation, but honestly, this could work to my advantage. I already knew Dwight was a punk with the entire Tyrone situation, but hurting Asia was 10 times worse than that. I really wanted to find him and kill him for doing this to her.

She pulled away from me and wiped the tears from her cheeks. "I'm sorry."

"For what? You have every right to be upset."

"It's not that, it's just the fact that you're comforting me regarding my husband. I knew things were rough and that I wasn't giving him what he needed, but I felt the same way about him. I've been feeling so angry and frustrated with him about everything that's happened that we've become distant. I didn't realize it would push him to someone else."

"Has it occurred to you that he should have been taking care of his business instead of worrying about getting some ass? I'm sorry, A, but your husband is an asshole. I'm not just saying that because of my feelings for you, but he really has his priorities screwed up. Of course you wouldn't like the fact that you had to move in with someone and your finances weren't right. He should have been a man about his instead of bringing you down."

"That's exactly what my dad said when he found out what was going on."

"Your dad is a smart man."

She got up from the stool and grabbed her purse.

  "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to confront my snake of a husband."

"Whoa, don't do that. Not right now anyway. Take some time to calm down before confronting him."

"I don't think I'll be able to calm down."

I put my arms around her and looked into her eyes. "Just do it for now. At least wait until after you eat and get some rest."

She shook her head. "I can't go back to that house, especially after knowing what he's done."

"You can stay here with me."

"No. It's one thing to visit, but I can't stay here."

"Just for tonight, until you figure things out."

"Fine. But I haven't changed my mind about confronting him."

"And you can, but not right now. Try to wait until he's not at work."

She went back to the stool and sat down. "Fine, because I was ready to give him and his partner a beat down."

  "I'm sure you were."

She looked at me with a smile. "Thanks."

  "No problem."

She shook her head and the tears fell again. "I shouldn't be this upset. I'm doing just as much dirt as he is, so why am I so frustrated about what he did? I really thought things would get better between us, but it's only become worse."

I tried to embrace her again, but she held her hands up.

"I shouldn't be talking to you about this."

"A, we're friends, so you can talk about it as long as you need to. If you need to vent, throw things, call Dwight every piece of shit that is he, it's cool. Just let your frustrations out now."

She lay her head on the bar and sobbed. I held her, and my shirt got wet with her tears. I knew it would take some time for her to get over this, so I'd support her as long as she needed it.

  Asia

After my meltdown, Bryon picked me up from the stool, carried me into the bathroom, and ran a hot bath for me. He told me to relax while he started the food for an early lunch.

While he was in the kitchen, I sat in the tub, staring at the ceiling, wondering what to do next. I couldn't go back to that house. I didn't want to look at him, and I damn sure didn't want to look at Jordan. This was the perfect opportunity for me to leave and start over, but how was I going to do that? I barely had any money, and the car I drove belonged to both of us. Not to mention, if I left, our marriage would pretty much be over.

I picked up the sponge from the edge of the tub and gently rubbed it on my legs. My mind wandered to what had happened between Bryon and me at the office, and my body tingled. I dropped the sponge and leaned my head back. My fingers moved to my clit. I didn't know why I was horny all of a sudden. I shouldn't have been trying to get myself off considering I'd just found out that my husband was cheating on me, but I needed to relax, and pleasuring myself could help me do that.

I closed my eyes, slowing moving my hand against me. I moaned softly, hoping Bryon couldn't hear me. Even when in our marriage, I touched myself when I needed to. I'd been so frustrated with Dwight that sometimes, I did withhold sex, which probably did lead him to someone else. I think I blamed myself for him cheating than I probably should have.

I opened my legs wider as my other hand went to my breast, gently rubbing my nipple when another moan escaped my lips. The tension began building, and I tilted my head back, imagining Bryon thrusting himself in me. Even though he was in the kitchen, I couldn't see myself sleeping with him just yet. My marriage was already in shambles, and I already cheated by letting him touch me, so sleeping with him was an entire new level I wasn't ready for.

Water splashed on the floor as my breaking point neared. I bit my lip, trying hard not to moan from my approaching orgasm. I opened my eyes, looked up at the ceiling; out of the corner of my eye, I saw Bryon staring at me. A part of me embarrassed, and a part of me completely turned on that he was watching me.

"I thought something was wrong when I heard you moaning; that's why I came in."

I lowered my eyes and slowly sat up in the tub. "How long have you been standing there?"

  "Long enough."

"I'm sorry. I was trying to relax and –"

"You don't have to explain anything to me. Can I just say I would've never imagined you doing that?"

"Why, because I'm shy and reserved?"

"Partly. You really do amaze me every time I'm around you."

I smiled as he stepped into the bathroom. "Now that you've seen my performance, maybe you can give me a show one day."

He laughed. "Hell, I'll do it now. You've got me horny as hell."

"Maybe later. I'm taking your offer to spend the night."

"Good," He replied with a smile. "But I want to let you know that I don't expect anything. I know you have a lot on your mind, and that would only complicate things."

  I nodded. "Thank you."

"Now, let me help your sexy ass out of the tub. Lunch is almost ready."

He grabbed the towel from the rack near the tub and wrapped it around me. He slowly dried my body, stopping to kiss me on my neck. Then, he turned me around and looked into my eyes.

"Dwight is a damn fool. I would do everything I could to keep you happy."

I touched his chest as my lips met his. He held me, and my tongue swirled around inside his mouth, tasting him. It was delicious.

He let go of me and took my hand, leading me to the bedroom. After massaging my body with lotion, he put one of his shirts on me and smiled. I looked down and noticed it was a University of Texas shirt, his Alma Mater.

We walked into the dining room and ate the lunch he'd prepared, which was pretty good. I had to admit, this man was too perfect. He had to have some sort of flaw; I guess I was expecting one considering everything that had happened with Dwight. I was pretty tired, so Bryon told me to go into the bedroom while he cleaned up. I walked into his room, not sure if I should lie in there since he did have a guest room I could sleep in.

My eyes were getting heavy, so I went to his bed and lay down. I closed my eyes, loving the feel of his silk sheets. I wrapped myself in the blanket that lay at the foot of the bed. I needed to relax, and I think this bed alone had done it for me. Although confronting Dwight was still heavy on my mind, I had to get some rest, because there was no good in me dwelling on something I couldn't fix.

  ***

I slowly opened my eyes and looked around me. The room was pitch-dark. I glanced at the clock and saw it was 7 PM, meaning I'd slept the majority of the day. I looked to my side and saw the bed was empty. I thought that maybe Bryon would have joined me, but I guess not.

I rose up and sat on the bed for a few minutes, wondering w
hat I should do next. I got up and went out to the living room and saw Bryon laying on the couch asleep. I smiled at how cute he looked, then I grabbed the blanket from the armchair. I draped it around him, being careful not to wake him, then I went back into the bedroom. I put on my clothes, slipped on my shoes, and tiptoed back to the living room. I looked at Bryon again before heading to the door. I knew if he woke up, he would stop me from going to see Dwight, but I had to. I had to confront him about everything he'd done, from lying to cheating and not being there when I needed him, financially and emotionally. I knew if I didn't do it now, I probably never would. So this was something Bryon would just have to understand.

  ***

Since Dwight mentioned he would be "working late," I drove to his job, hoping he was actually there. Sure enough, there he was, working on a window display. I took a deep breath, trying to get myself together before I walked into the store and made an ass out of myself.

I was still watching when I saw Tonya walk up to him. My blood started to boil at the sight of her. Sure, I had cheated too, which I regret because I'm married, but the idea that Dwight had been doing this for well over a few months really hurt. When we talked about trying to make things work, he went off with another woman. He wasn't even try to save our marriage; instead, he did whatever he wanted and tried not to caught.

Since I didn't want to make a scene at his job, I stayed in the car until the store closed. After 40 minutes of waiting, everyone headed out, including Dwight and Tonya. I watched them walk toward her car, and I quickly got out and rushed over to them. When Dwight saw me, I could have sworn his face was as white as a sheet. I didn't see how that was possible, though, since he's the same color as I am.

"Asia, what are you doing here?" he asked in shock.
