She lay quietly a few moments enjoying her growing need. She clenched her thighs around Sonny’s hand cupping her cunt and felt her need and wetness growing. I need to be fucked again. Lara had lost count of how many times she’d come in the past few hours. And that is without her actually touching me yet, Lara thought.

  Touching her.

Lara felt herself grow giddy with excitement at the thought of Sonny actually touching her without the damn panty in the way. The weightless scrap of silk suddenly felt too much.

  I wonder.

Lara bit her lip in thought.

Unexpectedly, she felt Sonny place a small kiss on her neck.

  “Awake?” Lara asked softy.

“Umm hmm…looks like I’m morphing into a morning person,” Sonny’s voice was heavy in the just-waking-up way. She nuzzled Lara’s neck.

Lara took Sonny’s hand and slowly eased it inside the elastic on the top of her panties. Sonny went still in surprise. “Are you sure?” she rasped.

“I’m desperate to feel you,” Lara voice was weighed down with languid heaviness.

Sonny turned Lara to lay on her back. She eased herself up so that she was looking at Lara’s face, reading her expression. Lara looked at Sonny through heavy lidded eyes, her impossibly long leashes casting their own spell. Lara lifted her hand, placing her palm on the side of Sonny’s cheek. She spread her legs in silent invitation and smiled a sultry half-smile.

Sonny slid her hand inside Lara’s panties slowly, allowing Lara enough time to change her mind any time. Sonny’s finger brushed against Lara’s swollen outer lips and Lara gasped, biting her lip.

Sonny ran three fingers along Lara’s cunt, the middle finger running across Lara’s slit.

  “Fuuuck…”…softly, throatily.

“Can I take them off?” Sonny asked.

Lara simply nodded too overcome in the moment to actually form words.

Sonny eased Lara’s panties down and Lara raised her hips upwards to help the cause. As soon as Sonny eased the panties down to her knees, Lara used her legs to kick them off and open her legs. She drew Sonny’s head down to her breast.

Sonny skimmed her fingers along Lara’s pussy eliciting deep, heavy breaths. Sonny gently slid one finger into Lara’s slit and ran it up the erotically wet length from hole to clit. Lara cried out softly, her arms tightening convulsively around Sonny’s shoulder, nails digging in.

Sonny drew a light circle around Lara’s hole and Lara’s hips jerked up. Carefully Sonny zigzagged her finger up to Lara’s clit touching the throbbing, sensitive nub to a background score of Lara’s sultry moans and wordless vocalisations.

Sonny featherlighted her finger over Lara’s clit and Lara gushed out further wetness. Sonny traced light circles around Lara’s clit slowly but steadily increasing the pressure. Lara writhed and squirmed under Sonny’s hand. Sonny slowly eased one finger into Lara, pressing down her clit with her thumb. “Sonneeeee,” Lara cried out. Sonny curled her finger slightly and scraped the inner wall of Lara’s vagina. She felt the convulsions starting inside Lara’s cunt as Lara threw her head from side to side in ecstatic pleasure grasping the sides of the pillow in desperate fists.

“Show me what you’re feeling, babe,” Sonny’s voice was a rough whisper in Lara’s ear just before she licked the shell of Lara’s ear.

Sonny’s voice in her ear was that last little push that Lara needed to crash into a freefall in a world of exploding stars.

Sonny slipped a second finger into Lara and started pumping her hand in and out of Lara, playing Lara’s clit with her thumb. Primed, ready, still in the throes of her previous orgasm, Lara was quickly overtaken with another, more powerful orgasm which had her crying out loud – ferally – and clenching herself around Sonny’s fingers hard.

Lara eased somewhat around her fingers and Sonny ran her fingers inside the dripping folds of Lara’s cunt slowly, bringing her down. When Lara finally stopped trembling and shaking, Sonny cupped her pussy, squeezing and caressing.

“Sonny,” Lara rasped looking at Sonny through half-lidded sex eyes, running her fingers through Sonny’s hair, “What did you just do to me?”

“Good?” Sonny’s lop-sided smile was almost smug.

“Fuck good, sweetie…this needs a whole new lexicon.” Lara arched and stretched her weighed-down-with-languor limbs. “Would you judge me if I said I wanted more?” she asked a devilish smile splitting her face. “I suspect I’m hyper-sexed,” she added.

“What time are you leaving for Paris?” Sonny smiled, a little smugly, but giving herself points for reining in full-out conceit given that Lara was making her feel like a sexual rockstar.

“You look pleased with yourself,” Lara observed narrowing her eyes.

“I have reason to be,” Sonny grinned.

  “And the reason is…?”

  “You.”

“Are you taking about my lack of any sort of control with you?” Lara asked suspiciously. Sonny just smiled back. “Don’t tease…I can’t help it…you make me crazy,” Lara blushed and slapped Sonny lightly.

“Ouch!” Sonny said exaggeratedly. “Not teasing…just loving it,” she hugged Lara close.

“I leave around two in the afternoon – we have lots of time,” Lara said flirtatiously. “Let me just brush and come back,” she said rolling away.

  “No morning mouth for you?”

Lara shuddered delicately, “Minty fresh breath,” she threw over her shoulder.

“Good to know we have that in common,” Sonny stated. “Okay if I use another bathroom?” she called out.

“Sure,” Lara said as she closed the bathroom door. It’s too soon to share morning bathroom rituals, but...

  ******

“Morning sex energises me,” Lara said musingly. She’d hooked her arm through Sonny’s and was hugging Sonny’s arm as she walked Sonny home. After brushing her teeth, Sonny had found urgent messages on her phone and fixed a con-call. So more sex had to be postponed. Lara pouted about it a little but after some heavy make-out, she was mollified and decided she also needed to get her back into her exercise routine. It was a transparent papering over from Lara for Sonny to feel okay about abandoning Lara’s flowering – nay, galloping – sexual awakening, but Sonny appreciated Lara’s effort. “So what is this con-call about?”

“That online music project I’d told you about.”

“Have you done something like this before?” Lara asked curiously.

“Not exactly this, but I have strategized and designed various projects including many website businesses. Being involved at this stage helps in the image-design and positioning later. In fact that is also becomes a part of the overall product design,” Sonny explained.

“Makes sense,” Lara absorbed the concept.

“You know that thought about becoming a producer? I think it is a good idea, but needs more thought. However, have you considered starting a computer graphics studio? Animation is growing by leaps and bounds. Plus every single move uses computer generated special effects.”

“That’s a brilliant idea, sweetie. I think while we think about this whole getting into production idea, we should start off on this idea immediately.”

They both noted and fully registered Lara’s choice of words at the same time.

  Not ‘I’.

  Not ‘you’.

  We.

When and how had that happened?

  (The Unknown Factors)

Lara formally signed the movie, Situation, on the morning of her second day in Paris. She’s read a few scenes with Amélie, the director, and it was a done deal. Their teams had worked out the dates. It was a fantastic role. A fantastic deal.

Lara’s days were filled with people. Amélie, a director with a mile-long list of awards, was a bundle of excitement and energy. Situation was her dream project. Fleur and Justin were the French and Canadian producers who had individually produced some of the most acclai
med movies in the past two decades. Natalie and Hunter, the lead writers were behind three Oscar nominated movies in the past five years, winners of BAFTAs, Golden Globes and a clutch of other awards for their scripts in movies and TV shows.

Besides these five, there were about a couple of dozen assistants that they had plus Lara’s own team of eight – agents, manager, secretary, hair, make-up, designer and one general Man Friday. Everyone was friendly and helpful, but Lara felt she was always under scrutiny. There was constant expectation of certain behaviour from her. It was one of the downsides of being a movie star – the constant scrutiny and expectation of worthy behaviour. Lara needed to play a certain role at all times. Be a certain person – a persona – with everyone. She’d never realised before that she was always ‘on’. Even with her staff she could never let go completely. It drained her.

Lara missed Sonny with a vengeance. They spoke all through the day. Whenever Lara had a minute to herself she called Sonny. They had hours-long conversations at night. Each conversation seemed to tie them tighter together. Lara felt bound with Sonny like she’d never felt before. But that wasn’t enough. All the calls, all the FaceTiming didn’t fill the void that Lara felt. She needed Sonny’s presence. Sonny grounded her. Made her feel safe. Anchored.

Lara craved Sonny. The comfort of being completely herself with someone. The solidity. The easy conversations. The binding silences. She missed Sonny’s low and mellow voice. Her humour. Her seriousness. She missed the way Sonny’s eyes spoke to her. She missed the constant simmering thrum she felt with Sonny. She missed how Sonny could turn her into a puddle with a look. She missed Sonny’s touch. She missed being surrounded – cocooned – by Sonny – emotionally and physically.

Lara couldn’t understand how it was possible to miss someone she knew for less than a week so desperately; but the fact was that Lara didn’t remember what her life was like before Sonny. Lara never relied on anyone in her life, especially for emotional support. But Sonny had seeped into every pore, every split second and she completely owned Lara.

  ******

Situation was the buoy that would not only save Lara from sinking but also bring her ashore to bigger, better things. She was thrilled by the turn of events in her life. At any other time in her life, she’d be ecstatic. But now she had mixed feelings.

Kyse was a bubble out of time. It was a fairyland. But reality was creeping into that life. This movie was going to be shot on location in three countries across a period of six months. Then there would be patchwork, dubbing and tours around the world for promotion. Plus the intention was to enter the movie into various festivals. Which meant more promotional tours. In all it looked like Lara would be intensely involved with Situation for about almost a year – mostly touring around the world. If Lara threw in her hat in as a co-producer for the movie, her involvement would double or triple.

Could she and Sonny ride this time out? Sonny had chosen an early retirement and the quiet of Kyse. Lara’s life was going to be a madhouse. Would Sonny be okay with the chaos that came along with Lara? What if it wasn’t something that Sonny was willing to deal with? What if Lara had to make a choice between her career and Sonny? The thought frightened the bejesus out of Lara. It terrified the living daylights out of her. They were very, very new but Lara wanted Sonny in her life more than anything else.

Lara’s work was casting a long shadow over her relationship and she wasn’t prepared to trade either. She couldn’t figure out how she was going to balance the two. Lara was going crazy with these thought running around in circles in her head.

It was draining her more than anything else that was happening.

  ******

Lara’s stay in Paris was getting extended. They were auditioning actors for some key roles over the weekend. These roles were ones that played important parts in the past of Lara’s character, Nicole. Lara would be reading with some of them to see their chemistry and timing.

Next week they were auditioning actresses for the role of the defendant, Zoe – the second most important role of the movie. They needed to see the chemistry between Lara and the other girl because all of Zoe’s scenes were with Nicole. So Lara was going to be reading scenes with all the actresses being auditioned.

Lara dropped her knee length coat tiredly over a chair in the sitting room of her suite as she walked into her bedroom. The past five days had been rewarding, exciting, intensive but terribly frustrating and lonely. Her eager-beaver staff were chattering in her wake as they came in for the usual end-of-day debriefing.

“Nasir Pardesi sent two scripts over today,” Pankaj, her agent in India announced sounding absolutely thrilled. “We’ve been in talks for almost three months,” her added.

Nasir Pardesi, a producer of huge budget films. He was one of the few major producers who couldn’t be influenced or touched by Karan, Shahid and gang. He had his own separate set of financiers. However, he only made one film in a year or two. Hardly a steady pipeline of work.

Lara didn’t have the energy to be excited about this development. “What are the movies about?” asked.

“Both are heroine oriented – one is Jasma of the Odes and the other one is Panna Dai. Both folklore based,” Punk was like an excited puppy. All of Lara’s staff was devoted to her and her imploding career had made them collectively feel strongly protective of her. It wasn’t that their jobs were in doubt – they knew Lara would take care of them – but they believed that she didn’t deserve the attack she was facing. Situation and now these two possibilities meant the tide was turning and all of them were feeling celebratory. Lara wished she could share that feeling. If these two movies materialised, it meant that she would be even busier than she’d thought. What would that mean for her and Sonny?

“That’s fantastic, Punk,” Lara reached her deepest recesses to drum up some enthusiasm for her hard-working, super loyal staff. “Send them to me, I’ll have a look asap. I’m wiped, so I’m going to retire…you guys stay, order room service like every day, okay?”

  ******

“Hi babe,” Sonny’s voice was a hug, a caress. Lara sank into the comfort of Sonny’s warmth. “How was your day?”

“Things are going very well, but I’m exhausted today.”

  “Is your period due?”

“Yes! Oh my God…how did I not realise that?” Lara exclaimed, relaxing into her warm bubble bath. “Sweetie, I’m going to have to stay here a week or two longer,” she said sadly.

“Oh!” Sonny sounded immediately downcast. As downcast as Lara was feeling. Thank God! A beat and then Sonny said tentatively, “Ummm, babe, if it’s okay with you, can I come over?”

Lara heaved a quiet breath of relief. She felt all her tensions melting away at the very thought of Sonny wanting to be where she was. At the offer. “Please, please, please come to me, sweetie,” Lara sighed feeling an uptick in her energy and mood.

“I miss you, jaan,” Sonny’s voice dropped an octave sending uncontrollable flutters in Lara’s stomach.

“I miss you too – like crazy,” Lara confessed, her voice dropping to a whisper.

“You know…I’ve been watching four movies each day – all yours,” Sonny admitted.

Lara laughed, a husky sound of pure longing. “Come soon, honey.”

“Is tomorrow good?” Kyse didn’t have a commercial airport but given the profile of the people who had invested in properties there and the people who visited, there was a full-fledged airport for all the private aircrafts. Aristotle and Cara, a canny Greek couple had started a private charter service and owned three airplanes of different sizes for different distances and/or tastes. This meant that anyone wanting to travel to or from Kyse could do so on short notice at their convenience.

“I should be done by evening. Can you come by four or five?”

  “Of course.”

“Text me when you leave Kyse. Punk and Tanu will be there at the airport for you.”

“Hey, that’s not necessary. As it is you have Mu
thu making all my meals here and Shyam delivering them,” Sonny could barely contain how thrilled she was that Lara was looking after her even in absentia. There was something especially caring about it. “I’ll book a room in the same hotel as you and find my way.”

“You’ll do no such thing,” Lara chided, “You’ll stay with me.”

“Are you sure?” Sonny said a little apprehensively. She’d not known how Lara wanted to deal with her presence. She didn’t know whether Lara would be open about their relationship or choose to be closeted. Especially with her rather large staff in attendance. In fact, she was certain that Lara would want to keep them under wraps for fear of backlash. Their relationship could be potentially career damaging for her.

“Don’t you want to?” Lara asked nervously.
