Secret Ops: Ty's Revenge

“I want my Daddy.” Sara cries.

The ground shakes. It must have been another explosion. Sara screams grabbing onto me. Aaron rushes over to the weapons hanging on the wall. She hands me a small pistol and taking one of her own. “Living with Ty you learn a few things over the years.”

“You need to tell me what the hell is going on right now.” I demand.

“Sara honey. I need you to stand right here,” Aaron places Sara in the corner away from the door, “Jessica if anyone comes through that door you pull the trigger don’t hesitate.”

  “What if it’s Dr. Bailey?”

“I think they blew up the secret road. No other way up the mountain.”

“Aaron. You really need to tell me what’s going on. Why the hell would anyone want to blow up the mountain?”

“Ty is going to be pissed.”

“I’m going to be pisssed if you don’t.”

“Ty isn’t your normal man, none of them are. They are not undercover agents, but something else. Ty never went into detail with me, but I know enough that they help people who need helping. They catch the bad guys and dispose of them.”

That clears up a lot. “So they are like agents or something.”

  “Something like that.”

“What the hell have I gotten myself into?”

  “Did you have a choice?”

  “No I didn’t.”

“So you really don’t remember who you are?”

“Not a damn clue. If these people are after me or Sara, then it can’t be good. I mean if I were missing and my family, assuming I have one, came looking for me. I’m sure they wouldn’t blow up a mountain to find me.”

“True. So the question is. Who the hell do you have as friends?”

  “I’m thinking they aren’t friends.”

“Shit. I have no phone signal. I can’t call out.” Aaron checks her phone.

“Let me see it.” I hold out my hand.

Aaron hands me the phone. I walk around the room until I get a faded signal. “Here. Quickly. It’s not much, but it may get out a message.”

Aaron hold the phone in the same position typing out a message. I have no idea who she is talking to, but I hope that it is one of the guys.

  Chapter 19

  Ty

We are at least a couple hours away from Virginia. I can’t get Jessica and Aaron off my mind. Tango was right. That wasn’t such a great idea having both of those women together in the same room. Aaron is jealous and if she gets it into her head that I am remotely interested in Jessica. Well let’s just say shit will hit the fan. It has been over with the two of us for a long time. Aaron hates me, but she doesn’t want to see me with someone else. Even though she has moved on, somewhat anyway. She has dated some guy, that I can’t even remember his name, for a long time. It doesn’t bother me. She deserves to have someone to make her happy. I sure as hell couldn’t do it.

I want to make Jessica mine. Now that I have an idea who she is. My stomach twist in knots knowing that when she does regain her memory, she could possible want to leave. I know I don’t really know her, but I like her a lot and I want to get to know her. I want her to know the real me. I’ll just have to make her fall in love with me. I want her to want me. When Sara asked me if Jessica could go home with us I never hesitated to say yes. She is great with Sara and me. I know she will make a great mom.

My phone buzzes in my pocket. This is a secure line and the only people who have it are my team mates. Alarm instantly go off in my head. “Ty,” Tango says, “Get your ass back here. William has blown the mountain.”

  “Fuck!”

I kick Lazarus’s foot waking him. “Tell the pilot to turn around. William blew the mountain all to hell.” Then I speak in the phone to Tango. “Sara. Where is Sara and Jessica? Are they okay? What about Aaron?”

“They are fine for now. We are having one hell of a time getting to them. Aaron has very little signal. They are in the bunker holding their own the last time I talked to Aaron. I haven’t been able to contact them in an hour. Ty. I’m not going to sugar coat this. It’s bad. Really bad. The road is completely demolished. We have heavy equipment coming in to move the boulders.”

“How the fuck did this happen?”

“We were blindsided again. William has played us. He fucking knew I would send you to Virginia. He knows how we think.”

“When I get my hands on him…” I let the sentence die.

  “That makes two of us.”

“Keep trying to get hold of Aaron. We are turning around now.”

  “I am.”

Tango hangs up. I will climb every inch of rock on that mountain to get to them. Sara must be scared out of her mind. Jessica no doubt asking questions. Aaron I don’t want to even think about what she is doing. God how the hell could this happen? How the fuck does William know what we were doing? I pace around the small jet. I feel like a caged tiger. This plane can’t go fast enough.

  “What’s going on?” Lazarus asks.

“William knew what we were doing. He knew all along. He fucking knew!” my voice rises. I’ve never been as scared in my life as I am right now.

“What about the girls. Any word on them?”

“Tango was in contact with Aaron. They are in the bunker. Damn I so glad you wanted to show off that day you showed her that.”

Lazarus breathe a sigh of relief. “Me too. Otherwise…”

“Don’t say it man.” I warn Lazarus.

  “So what’s the plan?”

“Tango has construction equipment coming, but you and I both know that’s going to be slow. If the landing pad hasn’t been blown to bits. That will be William’s way out. I’m going to climb the mountain. I’m going to get there first.” I hope.

“He has a few hours on us. Then you have to consider the climb. It will at least take us an hour to get up the north side. It’s the shortest distance. Then we have to consider the land mines I have placed around the perimeter. If that wasn’t the explosion. William may have blown himself straight to hell.”

I didn’t even consider the land mines. It is very possible that William has blown himself up. I have to hope that’s what the explosion was. I need to focus on saving them. I can’t do that if I’m not thinking rationally. The hunted, William, is becoming the hunter. I can’t have that. We have already made too damn many mistakes when it comes to him. He knows every fucking move we are making. How I don’t know? It can’t be Marco. He is being held. Ash is with Tango or his wife and Lazarus is with me. Vegas is on vacation, well more like healing up. So that rules them out. Who else knew of our plans? Aaron, highly unlikely. Dr. Bailey, he would rather be at home with his wife. Jessica, she has no access to a phone. Sara, is just a little girl, no fucking way. Vancard is dead and Braxton is locked up tight. So how the hell did he know? Tango did say that William knew we had Sara, but that had to have been information passed to him by his men that got away.

“We are missing something important. I don’t know what. He knows every damn move we make. How?”

“I don’t know. I was wondering that myself.”

As we make our way back to Nevada, I rack my brain to come up with an answer. Pacing in the small jet isn’t helping. Lazarus is on the phone getting an update. Still nothing. No word from the girls. “Can’t this plan go any faster?” I grit out.

“It could if I were flying.”

“Then get your ass in the damn seat.”

Lazarus heads to the cockpit. Taking a seat again I look out the window. Emptiness is the only thing that greats me. The same way I feel inside right now. If something happens to Sara, Jessica and Aaron I will never forgive myself. I shouldn’t have left. I didn’t want to go, but I knew I had to. I was doing it to protect Sara.

“This is your caption speaking. You are now flying with the magnificent Lazarus. Please buckle your seat belt and put your trays in the upright position and kiss your ass good bye, because it was left behind.” Leave it to Lazarus to mak
e a damn joke. I feel myself smile in spite of everything going on around me.

I feel the thrusters of the plan kick in. I guess I get exactly what I ask for. I’m damn glad this guy is on our side. In no time we are landing. I can’t get off this plan fast enough. We make a quick exit heading to the car. Jumping in the driver’s seat, I don’t wait for Lazarus to close his door before I’m heading back to the mountain. I pass everything on the road. People are honking their horns and flipping me off. A few high patrols get in behind me.

  “Lazarus. Hold on.”

Lazarus doesn’t think twice when he braces himself for the turn. I make a sharp right turn getting off the main highway. The cops don’t have a chance. I kick the accelerator down going as fast as the car will go. I don’t waste time maneuvering around the small town until I’m back on the main highway. The cops are nowhere in sight. The mountain is now in sight. I can see the smoke plastering the sky. Blue lights are flashing and vehicles are everywhere at the base.

“That’s definitely not land mines.” Lazarus looks out at the smoke filled sky.

“Nope. The son of a bitch blew it all to hell.”

“Not that way.” Lazarus points out once we are close to the mountain. “Under the bridge. Up the dirt trail. It takes a truck to get up. This car won’t make it. We can go as far as the rough train then we have to set off on foot. I have a bunker just below the rock ledge. It has everything we need.”

I bring the car to a sudden stop once we reach the rough road. Jumping out I follow Lazarus up the mountain. We walk fast and hard. I have no time to waste. I need to get to the girls. It seems as if I can’t get there fast enough.

“Watch you step. This is tricky. Step in the exact same spot as I do.” Lazarus says over his shoulder.

“How do your lions get around these?” I often wondered that.

“They don’t have access here. I would never put my babies in danger.”

  “Good to know.”

“We are going there.” He points to a rock ledge hanging over the cliff.

  “Lead the way.”

Lazarus carefully maneuvers around each land mine. I precisely follow in his steps. I won’t be any good to the girls if I’m dead. So I take careful note of each step Lazarus takes. Stepping in the same spot as he does. This takes a lot longer than I want it to, but it can’t be helped. I hear a faded sound of a chopper and my heart sinks to the bottom of my stomach. We make it to the cliff ledge. Lazarus pulls down the camo covering reviling a door.

“There’s everything we need in here.”

“We need to get a move on. There’s a chopper coming.”

I follow him inside. This place is amazing. I don’t take time to admire it though. I pull a few hand guns off the wall along with a riffle that has a scope attached to it. I gather some rope and climbing gear.

  “Ready?”

“Let’s go.” We walk around the side of the cliff. It has one hell of a long drop down. I make a mental note that if I find William up here I just may throw him off the side of this cliff.

“Okay this is as far as we can go. It will bring us close to the house. I must warn you though. Between here and the house there is a lion’s den. I will try and lead us around them.”

“I trust you.” And I really do. This is the first time I have ever put my life in some one else’s hands.

  “Alright then. Shall we?”

Pulling out my safety harness I attach all the ropes to it. This is going to be somewhat free style climbing. I’m no stranger to this. I just have to be careful because there are no ropes at the top to catch me. The only thing holding my weight is the wedge I place in the crevice of the rocks, if I fall. It’s about a hundred or so feet to the top. Maybe more. Lazarus and I climb at a snail’s pace. Rocks crumble under my boot falling and falling.

My muscles burning, but I don’t stop. I keep my mind focused on Sara and what she is going through right now. My baby girl must be frightened out of her mind. Jessica probably has no damn idea what’s going on and asking Aaron questions. At this point I don’t care if Aaron tells her everything. I just want them to be okay.

After climbing for at least what feels like hours I can finally see the top of the mountain. Placing my foot on a rock it slips and I lose my hand hold. Falling and falling until I reach out grabbing hold of a sharp rock sticking out. “Son of a bitch.” I yell. That is twice I had almost fallen to my death.

“You okay?” Lazarus yells down at me.

“I’m good.” My finger are now bleeding. I tore a hole in the knee of my jeans and now have blood seeping out of the cut. I make quick work of scaling back up the side once again. It isn’t long until I get to the top.

Lazarus is standing there waiting on me. “I thought you were a goner there.”

  “So did I.”

Pulling off the climbing gear, we set out on foot once more. I can see the house through the trees in the distance. Instead of going straight though, Lazarus turns to the left. I guess this is the way around the den of Lions. I can hear heavy breathing. The hairs on the back of my head stand straight up. I don’t say a word and neither does Lazarus. We are quiet as we can be until I snap a twig. We both stop in our tracks. Waiting, listening for any sound. My legs and arms feel like jelly from the climb up the mountain. I focus instead on the heavy breathing that I can still hear. Lazarus motions for us to continue. I seriously believe we are being follow by his so called babies. They are hungry and we are on the menu. I am not going to get eaten by a lion after making it this far. I hope Lazarus doesn’t hold hard feelings if the thing decided to attach because I will shoot it.

The house comes back into view again. Men are standing around outside. The front door is splinted off its hinges. I don’t see William anywhere, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t there. The sound of the chopper is closer now. I believe it’s circling the mountain. It could be the news chopper. I’m sure by now it’s all over the news anyway.

We make it to the edge of the wood line. The house if about fifty feet away. Men are everywhere. Looks as if William has brought out all his men. Lazarus and I edge as close as we can. I twist my silencer on the end of my riffle. “Ten in total. I can take out the three at the corner of the house.”

“I’ll take out the two at the back entrance.” Lazarus eases to the left of me crawling on his belly to a large tree to get a better view.

Lying flat against the ground, I aim down my scope. Taking the guy in with the cigarette in his mouth. Looking through the scope of my riffle I find him in the cross hairs and pull the trigger. He falls hard to the ground. Head shot. The other two rush over to him. They look around pulling their weapons out. They don’t stand a chance. I find the guy on the cross hairs once again pulling the trigger. I do this one more time killing the other man. Lazarus nods to me telling me the guys at the back are down as well. Five down, five to go.

“Can you get a clear view of inside the house?” Lazarus asks.

I look through the scope finding the window. Nothing. The drapes are closed. “Damn it, they have the drapes closed.”

  “This way.”

We silently go around the nest of tress until the back of the house comes in view. We sprint across the back yard to the back deck. I test the door knob it’s locked tight. I slip around the right side corner of the house. Where the dead men are lying. This is going to be tricky. Lazarus takes the other side. We will both meet at the front. Taking a quick glance I see two men standing on the porch. I pull out my hand gun also equipped with a silencer. Pulling the trigger the guy falls. The other falls soon after. Lazarus nods his head. I step up on the porch nodding to Lazarus.

This is going to be on hell of a battle. I can hear men inside talking, but none of them sound like William. The sneaky bastard probably isn’t even here. I hear a whimper. I can’t tell if it’s Jessica or Aaron. Where the fuck is Sara?

“Where is she bitch?” I don’t recognize the voice.

  “I don’t know what you’re t
alking about.” It’s Jessica.

  “Enough.” Fucking William.

I feel a calm come over me. One that I haven’t felt in a long time. He is here and I’m going to make him pay. Lazarus smile wide. He knows what I’m about to do. Nodding my head. I count silently holding up one finger, then two, we go in on the third. We both charge the front entrance at the same time. William turns around surprised. I shoot three men and Lazarus take out two more. All is left is William. I don’t realize I’m smiling. Lazarus give me a weird look. I catch my reflection in the mirror as I pass by. I have the look of a mad man.

“I was wondering when you two were going to join me.” William laughs.

“There’s nowhere to go Willy boy, but straight to hell.” I bare my teeth.

“Oh I wouldn’t say that Ty. I have a little insurance. You see this beauty here she belongs to Vancard. Well she did, but he is dead. So I will be taking her. I really don’t know what she saw in the worm. He was obnoxious as hell. In fact you boys done me a favor. I didn’t like the guy. You see I will let her go only if I get the kid. Now where the fuck is she.”

  “She isn’t here.” Lazarus laughs.

William tightens his hold on Jessica. “Well then how about two for one. Hmm…Adrian bring out the other bitch. I know if you won’t bargain with this one,” he kisses Jessica on top of the head, “you certainly will with this fine piece of ass.” Adrian pulls Aaron out by the hair of her head. She’s kicking and screaming, fighting every step of the way.

“William. You do know I’m going to kill you right?”

“No you won’t. You wouldn’t want to get either one of these bitches messy.”
