Thief of Hearts Page 3

by E. D. Parr

Blake brushed his fingers down Alex’s face. “I feel as if I’m taking something that I have no right to. You’re so hot. It’s been a long time since I was with a guy that I’m unable to resist.”

Alex let his puzzlement show in his voice. “What do you mean no right to? Everyone deserves affection, sex … love. I feel good when I see you. I feel like fucking, but I feel more … something else. I want to know you.” He laughed. “I’ve said that twice.”

Blake let him go and went to a thin louvered closet in the corner. He brought towels from the shelves there. “Let’s shower. I have to work the rest of the day. I’ll have a hard on all day if I don’t get the scent of your gorgeous body off me.” He put the towels on the side of the hand basin.

Alex stared at him. “I’ve never been with a guy who has a shower in his office.”

Blake removed the condom and wrapped it in toilet tissue. He made a sizable bundle before he put it in the trash bin by the hand basin.

  Alex laughed. “You’re disguising it.”

Blake nodded. He went to the shower stall and turned on the faucet. “Come on. We need to be quick.”

Alex followed him into the warm spray. He basked in the warm water and being under the relaxing flow with Blake. He wouldn’t have minded smelling Blake on his skin all day. It would have made him seem closer. Alex experienced a strange sense of loss as he remembered he’d have to leave the office and spend the rest of the day without Blake.

He spun around grabbed Blake and kissed him. “Can I see you tonight?”

Blake turned off the water. He stepped out of the stall and left wet footprints on the tiles as he went to pick up the towels. He brought one to Alex.

“I’d like that. Will we meet somewhere?”

Alex’s heart raced. He wanted closeness and sharing. He wanted Blake in his arms drifting to sleep. “Would you come to my place, spend the night?”

Blake hesitated. “I’d rather you came to mine.”

A thrill of pleasure zapped through Alex. He dried off quickly. “I’d love to.”

They dressed and checked each other out smiling and smoothing t-shirt and shirt. Alex clutched at Blake’s hand as they exited the shower room. “We need to exchange phone numbers. Let me have your address.”

Blake brought him to the desk and picked up his phone. He rattled off his number and Alex keyed it into his contacts with a practiced thumb.

Blake wrote his address on the piece of paper that he’d used to invite Alex into the office. He handed it to Alex. “About eight?”

Alex gazed at him. “Until then.” A wave of the most extraordinary tenderness flowed over him. He traced a gentle fingertip down Blake’s scar. He kissed Blake’s lips. “I want you in my life, Blake Aster.”

Blake’s eyes held affection. “I sure would like that, Alex…”

Alex guessed Blake asked for his surname. “Alex Ryan, in fact Alexander Ryan.” He saw the flare of recognition in Blake’s eyes, but Blake didn’t comment. He steered Alex to the door with a gentle hand on his arm.

Alex strode past the woman at the desk, head down. He exited the office, but as soon as he stood outside the closed door, he gave a little whoop of happiness and twirled around holding the paper with Blake’s address on it tightly.

  Chapter Six

Blake sat at his desk. Alexander Ryan… Nah, why would he work as a window cleaner? He turned over the idea that this hot guy was the famous concert pianist’s son, dismissed it, and checked his calls. An hour later, Blake went into his bathroom and tidied it. He hung the towels to dry on the heated rail. He swished water around the hand basin. He checked on the tissue wrapped condom in the trash and put more tissue on the top so that the cleaner would simply tip the bin into her bigger one. He went back to his desk.

He worked solidly. The sex with Alex had calmed him. He felt good, better than he had in months. Alex doesn’t mind my scar.

The pro bono trial work complete, he checked everything and then rang through to Kathy.

“I’m leaving early today, Kathy. You can forward any urgent calls to my cell phone.”

“Sure thing, Blake. Say, who was that gorgeous young man visited you today?”

Blake heard the smile in her voice.

  “The window cleaner.”

Kathy gave a short laugh. “Blake, you only need say mind your own business to me…”

Blake ended the call. He slipped his laptop into his bag and stood. He grabbed up his jacket and slung it over his shoulder. As he passed Kathy’s desk he grinned at her.

“He really is the window cleaner.”

Blake called at the store on his way home and bought salad ingredients and steak. He hadn’t said come for dinner to Alex, but he’d have some ready in case the guy hadn’t eaten. A smile kept tweaking at the corners of his mouth as he drove home. Alex is good for me. It’s not just the sex, although that’s insane, it’s his happy-go-lucky manner. He’s fun.

At exactly eight o’clock Blake’s doorbell rang. Blake’s heart leapt and nervousness made him tremble a little as he went to answer.

Alex stood in the foyer with a smile on his face, but it wasn’t his handsome face that widened Blake’s eyes with desire. Alex wore a black suit, expensively cut, and it fit him so well, Blake’s breath caught. He gazed at Alex. “Wow, you look amazing.” He froze in admiration for a few moments and then returned the smile. “Come in, Alex.”

Alex walked past him as Blake opened the door wider.

Blake savored his broad shoulders and the way his hard ass was obvious under the vent at the back of his jacket. A delicate scent of designer cologne added to the sexy entrance Alex made. Blake closed the door.

Alex stood in the hall and waited for Blake. His eyes filled with affection as he gazed at Blake.

Blake soaked up the sight. He went to Alex and pushed his arms around Alex’s neck. He rested his forehead on Alex’s. “We fit together well this afternoon. Hell, you smell good.”

Alex gripped Blake’s hips and dragged him against his body. “You feel good. Kiss me.”

Blake couldn’t help the smile that spread on his face. He kissed Alex softly trying not to smile.

Alex laughed. “You’re happy to see me.”

Blake rained kisses on Alex’s lips. “Yes.” He whispered between them. He drew away. “Hey, have you eaten dinner?” He led the way into the living room.

Alex followed him. “I didn’t get the time, but I’m okay.”

Blake turned to him. “Eat with me. I made some dinner.”

“You made dinner? Wow, I’m being spoiled.”

Blake brought him to the table. “It’s only steak and salad. Take a seat.”

Alex shook his head grinning. “No way you’re serving me dinner. I’ll help.”

Blake was already around the archway into the kitchen and Alex caught him up.

“The plates are hot and so’s the steak. It’s rested a few seconds. I’ll bring the plates and you bring the salad bowl.”

Alex waited until Blake put the plates on the table. He placed the salad close by.

“Do you want some wine or anything?”

“I’d take a beer if you have one, thanks.”

“This time sit down, Alex, I’ll get us a beer.” When Blake returned with two frosty bottles, Alex sat quietly waiting. Blake handed him a beer and sat nearby. He’d set the table so that they sat at a corner and were closer than if they’d sat opposite each other. Blake smiled. “Hope it’s edible.”

Alex cut a piece off the steak and tasted it. “It’s delicious. You can cook … a steak anyway.”

Blake grinned. “I don’t cook much to be honest. I generally pick up something from a restaurant that does take out. A few good ones do.”

Alex ate quietly for a few moments.

Blake ate a few bites. “Where do you live, Alex?”

“West village.” Alex supplied the answer as if automatically, and then his expression changed. His eyes held anxiety.

  Blake stu
diously ignored it and didn’t comment, but he wondered how a guy who cleaned windows for a living could afford an apartment or house there.

Alex put down his cutlery. He drank some beer and then used the napkin to pat his mouth. “Tell me about yourself, Alex. I know you’re a lawyer, where you live and work. You can’t have anyone in your life … a lover … a partner, or we wouldn’t be here.”

Blake figured asking where Alex lived and having the answer had put Alex off his food. He put down his fork. “I like music. I love driving out to the coast. I work a lot … pro bono sometimes.”

Alex seized on that with a smile. “Pro bono, so you help people for free. I’m impressed. Do you have a case right now?”

Blake gave him a tender look. “I can’t tell you much. I’m defending a kid who alleged he found stolen items in an alley. He’s been accused of theft.”

Alex gazed at Blake with what Blake read as concern. “An alley … where?”

Blake smiled at this interest and named the alley, he didn’t think that mattered since he wasn’t about to say when or who in the matter.

Alex picked up his beer and fidgeted with it. “Really. Is the kid guilty?”

Blake shook his head to emphasize his belief. “Hell no. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Picked up the stuff … cops arrived and cuffed him in the same alley.” Blake stopped talking. He picked up his fork and pushed a tomato slice around thinking he’d said too much.

Alex put his hand over Blake’s. “It’s okay. I won’t say anything to anyone.”

Blake dropped his fork. He raised his eyes to Alex’s face. “I know.” He believed Alex.

Alex took Blake’s hand. He made circles on Blake’s palm with his thumb.

  The motion soothed Blake.

“I like the ocean. I have a relative with a cottage up the coast. One day we’ll go, huh?” Alex’s voice was soft and he gave Blake a look full of hope and promise.

  Blake whispered. “Yes, one day.”

Alex smiled. “What sort of music do you listen to?”

Blake felt on safer ground. “Many different styles, including classical stuff. Not rap … that makes my head hurt.”

  Alex laughed.

Blake gazed at him savoring the way little crinkles appeared at the sides of his clear blue eyes. He sighed with pleasure as his gaze traveled over the planes of Alex’s handsome face. “You’re so great to look at.” He cringed then as his own ugliness sprang to mind.

Alex must have noticed. “So are you.”

Blake shook his head. “Now … now that can’t be the truth.”

Alex let go of Blake’s hand and traced a gentle fingertip down Blake’s scar. “You mean this, don’t you? It’s one of the things I love about you.”

Startled, Blake raised his eyebrows. “No.”

“I promise. I saw you and immediately wanted to grab that hunky body. Then I wanted to kiss you. You’re like an adventurer, a pirate, a sexy mythical god. You have no idea how attractive you are even with this scar. You’re hot as hell.”

Blake’s heart filled with tenderness. “I’m older than you. You’re much younger.” He recalled the reasons he’d listed to himself for not hoping Alex would want him.

Alex grinned. “I am not. I’ve led a sheltered life.”

Blake couldn’t help smiling. “How old are you?”

Alex frowned. “Not telling unless you tell me how old you are, grandpa.”

  Blake heaved a sigh. “Thirty.”

Alex grabbed his face and kissed him hard. He drew away. “Exactly what I thought. You see that scar in the mirror and it taints your self-image. You’re only a year older than me. That’s nothing. It’s perfect—I think…”

“You’re twenty-nine? That’s not so bad.” He couldn’t keep the relief out of his voice because Blake had expected Alex to be eight or more years younger than him. Hope rose in him. There were so few reasons not to hope for love with Alex now, that he opened up. “I never expected anyone to think I was attractive. I’ve hidden away a little since the attack.”

Alex’s eyes widened and he cradled Blake’s hand in his. “You were attacked? Fucking hell, I feel like hunting down the guy and beating the shit out of him. Was he caught?”

Amusement and gratitude mingled in Blake. No one had expressed such sentiments, especially not his ex, John, who’d left him as soon as the bandages came off and he saw the wound.

“They caught him. He was a client’s husband. He tracked her down to where she was … a women’s shelter, and I defended her. He had a bottle in his hand … vodka, and he busted it on the table and attacked me—smashed a chair over my head. I got in a couple of punches. I don’t regret defending her. I think he would have killed her. My intervention gave the staff time to whisk her away.” Blake took a deep breath.

Alex stood and pulled Blake to stand, too. He hugged Blake close and tight. “Blake…” he whispered.

Blake returned the hug. He swept his hands down Alex’s back. “I’m good now. Healed and just about used to being called ‘the beast.’ Hey, do want some coffee? Let’s make some.”

Alex put him at arm’s length and looked into his eyes. “Do you know why the girls call you that?”

Blake gave a little shake of his head.

“You remind them of what they call ‘the gorgeous guy’ on a TV show, some version of the fairy story, beauty and the—”

Blake supplied the word in a whisper. “Beast.”

Alex leaned in and kissed him softly.

The tenderness in the kiss worked magic. Blake held Alex around his handsome jaw and returned the kiss. He lingered kissing Alex until his cock strained against his pants and his stomach tightened.

Alex broke away to breathe. “They don’t know you’re gay and I get to have you, get to kiss you, hold you close…” He crushed Blake to his chest and thrust his hips against Blake’s body.

Blake’s eyes closed as lust overtook him. Alex’s huge, hard cock rammed against his stomach. Even through both sets of clothes, Blake’s cock jerked in response to the feel of Alex against him.

  Chapter Seven

Alex walked Blake backward to the couch and pressed him down. He knelt between Blake’s legs, and gazing into his eyes, he opened Blake’s pants and pulled out his cock.

Blake groaned as Alex’s fingers touched him. He sighed as pleasure coursed through him.

Alex ran his fingers up and down Blake’s cock. He grasped it in his fist and pumped.

Blake couldn’t keep still. He thrust his hips in time to the pumping. He laid his head on the back of the couch and closed his eyes. His heart pounded. His balls lifted and he groaned as Alex took his cock into the wet O of his lips and sucked.

Nothing existed then but Alex’s sucking and licking. Blake’s orgasm teased at him. He gasped trying to catch his breath as the waves of pleasure intensified.

Alex pulled Blake’s cock in and out of his mouth. He stroked Blake’s balls and traced his fingertips up Blake’s stomach.

Blake winced and murmured at the exquisite pleasure. His orgasm suddenly waved over him, taking his breath away, pulsing in his cock, relaxing his balls, and making him grab the seat of the couch as he rammed up to Alex’s mouth.

Moments passed and then Alex slipped Blake’s cock from his mouth. He kissed up Blake’s stomach lifting his shirt away.

Blake gazed at the beautiful man in his sexy suit knelt before him and love crept into his heart. Real, consuming, happy love filled him. He leaned forward.

  Alex looked up.

“Fuck me, Alex. I want that huge cock of yours pounding in my ass.” He took Alex’s hand and pulled him to stand. He led the way to his bedroom. As they stood by the bed, he took Alex’s jacket off and put it carefully on the chair placed by the bedside table.

Alex loosed his tie and Blake unbuttoned his shirt. He kissed Alex’s delicious lips and opened his pants. Blake dipped his fingers into Alex’s underwear and met the head of his cock. It gave Blake spike
s of desire all the way down his back to pool between his legs. “I’ll get the condom.” His voice shook. He went to his bathroom and brought back lube and a foil wrapped condom.

Alex had undressed and stood naked. The light from the bathroom caressed the contours of his muscles.

Blake soaked up the sight. He went to Alex and kissed him. “I got you extra-large.”

Alex took the pack. He tore it open. He rolled it on and held out his hand for the lube.

Blake couldn’t take his eyes off Alex. He put the tube into his lover’s palm and pulled off his clothes. His heart raced. He lay on his bed. The semi-darkness of his room cocooned him in sex and desire.

Alex took a handful of lube. He leaned over Blake. “I don’t want to hurt you. I’ll lube you up for a while. Lie on your side, babe.” He kissed Blake.

The kiss sent streaks of sensation tingling down Blake’s body all the way to his cock. He grabbed Alex’s head and returned the kiss, desperately, lovingly and then he let go and rolled onto his side.

  Alex lay behind him.

The proximity of his hot as hell lover made Blake’s cock hard all over again.

Alex lubed his ass with gentle strokes, his fingers entering each time a little more until Blake moaned as the sensitive nerves in his ass woke with sparks of pleasure.

Alex’s breath teased at his neck. Alex’s fingers widened his asshole and then with a slow, thrust, Alex slipped his cock in.

Blake grasped the quilt. He moaned open mouthed onto the pillow.

Alex stroked in and out slowly. He grabbed Blake’s cock as he thrust, kissing Blake’s neck, and leaving tingling wetness on Blake’s skin.

Blake sighed and relaxed against Alex’s body.

Alex’s gentle thrusts gave him more pleasure than he’d ever had from the pounding his ex gave him.

He turned his face. “This is so unbelievably good.”

Alex kissed the side of his mouth, and his whisper flew over Blake’s lips teasing there.

“You feel great. I’m so close, but I don’t want this to end, it’s fucking delicious…” His body jerked. His cock thrust up into Blake and he groaned loudly. “Fuckin’, fuckin’ hell…” He rested his face on Blake’s shoulder.
