He stared at the room, then back at me. “You couldn’t get rid of me. Especially with all the new fixtures. You need someone to run this place.”
My heart soared at having everyone close to me together.
“Okay, who wants some wicked tea?” Bee called out from across the shop, and Santos darted into the storage room and came back out with two platters of cakes.
“Whoa, who’s been baking?” I asked and stared straight at Nero, who winked my way.
With Dagen making his way to the food, I took Jay into my arms and joined the merriment. Because this was what life was about. Spending time with loved ones, laughing, and kissing my little babies. I looked down at Jay, his eyes the color of the greenest fields, and I ran a finger down his nose.
Nero dashed into the storeroom and returned with a carriage wide enough for three babies in his arms. Blankets layered the inside.
“See, I made something too. It means if we’re at the store or at your grandma’s place in the woods, the triplets have somewhere to sleep.” He smirked, and I placed Jay inside. Bee and Oryn did the same, and my three babies lay there, Jay still snoozing, Autumn kicking her arms and legs, and Alexy sucking her thumb.
Each already had their own personality and had captured my heart. Just as my three shifters had. They hugged me as we all stood around staring down at our family. Yep, this might not have been the future I’d planned with three guys and being a wolf, but it was better than I could have ever imagined.
And with a glance at my painting, I could have sworn it felt as if Grandma was with us too.
