“I want you to listen to mine and William’s voice.” He ran his fingers between her breasts, watching while she arched her hips. “Try to picture which of us is loving your body. You don’t have to say it. Just imagine.”
William rolled her nipple between his fingers and her face turned in his direction.
“Okay.”
A gasp echoed through the room the moment William sucked the hard nub into his mouth. Scott made a path from her knee to the wetness resting along her inner thighs.
“If at any time your mind drifts, I want you to say ‘pink.’ That’s the color of this beautiful pussy I’m looking at.” He spread her legs wider. “You say the word, and we try something new.”
Scott lowered, tracing his tongue down the length of her slit. Austin moaned as he separated her folds and licked down each one.
“Oh…God!”
“That’s right. Feel.” William said, moving to her other nipple. “Let us please you, Austin. Focus on what our hands and mouths are doing.”
Scott worked his way to her clit and gently suckled, at the same time, circling the entrance of her pussy with the tip of his finger. The way she pushed down, he could feel her tightness hug around him as he eased deeper.
“You taste so good,” Scott said, against her. “Sweeter than I imagined.” He flicked his tongue over the sensitive bud and withdrew his finger to experience her essence. “And I’ve done plenty of that since we’ve met.”
“We both have.” William continued. “You have no idea what you do to us.” He swept his tongue across Austin’s lips causing her to cry out. “Kiss me, Austin.”
There wasn’t a pause as she met his mouth hungrily.
Scott smiled. Finally, he could see his friend starting to relax and give in. It was no secret William usually acted impulsively, but the fact that he was overthinking this with Austin spoke volumes. His feelings for her were strong, whether he wanted to admit it or not.
Wetness against his finger increased with each thrust. Scott slid in another, feeling her stretch around him. Fuck, she was tight. How long had it been since she’d had sex? It had to have been a while.
Scott teased her clit even more, and felt her jerk. Muffled screams filled the room as spasms overtook her body. Well, shit. That’d come easier than he had thought. Scott increased the speed until he was sure she was finished.
“Will, take off the blindfold and untie her.”
The condoms were clear across the room in his dresser drawer. Scott walked over and took some out. As he turned to see Austin’s flushed face, he felt himself putting them back. To go all the way, that wasn’t what this had been about. She wanted to feel. To see if she could experience pleasure, again. They’d given her that. To go any further just for their benefit didn’t seem like the right thing to do.
“Let’s go eat while it’s still warm.”
“Wait, what?” William shook his head, confused.
Scott reached down, grabbing his jeans, and putting them on. “This was about Austin, Will. Never about us.”
It took a few seconds, but he nodded and got off the bed. The weird looks William was giving him as he got dressed, no doubt had a long talk attached to them. But that could come later. Right now, he wanted Austin as comfortable as possible, and clothed, for crying out loud. Before he lost all reserve, and changed his mind.
“But I’m not ready to stop. We’ve only just started.” Austin climbed to her knees and he watched her dark hair settle over her shoulders, covering her breasts. The expression she held was nearly impossible for him to read. Anger?
Scott rubbed his hand across the growth on his face. “It worked. Now you’ll know what to do. Let’s stop why we’re ahead, darlin’.”
“Ahead?” She narrowed her eyes. “Ahead of what? I thought…” The way her mouth parted, it was as though something had just entered her mind that she didn’t like the sound of. Hurt washed over her features and she slowly stood. “You’re right. I should go.” As she scooped her clothes from the floor, Scott looked at William hoping his friend understood her sudden change in mood, because he sure as hell didn’t.
“Austin.” Scott leaned his head to the side, trying to get her attention as she slid on her panties and skirt. “I’m not sure why you’re mad. You said you wanted to feel. Now you’re upset. I don’t understand.”
Those perfect breasts disappeared as she put on her bra and undershirt.
“You wanted to know what I asked at the Wildhorse, so I told you. Yes, I wanted the numbness to go away, but I thought maybe there was something more behind this. It was my mistake. You both gave me exactly what I asked, and I thank you for that.” She bent down and grabbed her stockings and shoes. “Enjoy the chicken. I’m afraid I’m not so hungry anymore.”
“Whoa.” William stepped in front of her. “Don’t leave like this. Nothing good will come out of it. Tell us what’s on your mind. Explain what you meant when you said you thought something more was behind it.”
The speed at which she’d sidestepped William was astounding. Scott felt himself tense as she pulled open the door. “Forget I ever said anything. I’m so sorry about this. You both have a good night.” The door closed behind her and Scott collapsed at the end of the bed.
“I knew this was a bad idea.”
William’s eyes cut over to him. “Bullshit. I’ve been the one saying that. Why’d you stop us, Scott? Everything was going great.”
The anger in Will’s tone hit him hard. “How is this my fault? She asked for pleasure. We gave Austin that. Fucking her would have just crossed the line. I was trying to respect her.”
“I don’t doubt that you were. But she wanted us, not just an orgasm.” William leaned against the wall. “You have been fighting hard to hide your feelings, but I’m not blind. And neither is she. If you think Austin isn’t picking up on the signals you’ve been putting off, you’re so wrong, my friend. She knows. And it’s made her brave enough to pursue what she wants. Me and you. Putting on the breaks could have ruined what we share. I hope you know that.”
Scott reached for his boots. “From the way she reacted, I think you may be right. But she has to understand I stopped for her. No other reason.” He pulled on his shirt and stood. “We need to go set this straight before it’s too late. It’s my fault. I’ll explain why I stopped.”
“Let’s just hope she listens,” Will said, sighing.
Chapter 9
“I can’t believe I was so stupid.” Austin tossed the heels in her closet and removed her skirt. As she pulled out a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt from her closet, tingling raced down her body making her wet all over again. Even through the embarrassment, she could still feel the effects of pleasure the men had brought on. Damn, she hadn’t wanted to stop.
Austin slid on the jeans and was pulling her shirt down when her cell phone rang. “Grady.” She raced for her purse and hit the accept button. “Hey, honey. You leave yet?”
A deep sigh broke through. “I’m sorry, Austin. Henry and I aren’t going to be able to make it. John has his off-duty cronies tailing us. I think he’s somehow convinced them that we have you held up somewhere. Who knows what exactly he’s told them, but I don’t think it’d be safe for us to go see you.”
Tear stung her eyes as she stared at the kitchen window. “I understand. Don’t worry. I’m going to take care of this now.”
“Wait. What are you planning to do?” Grady’s voice cut out as she ended the call.
“Fucking son of a bitch.” Austin punched in the department’s number she knew by heart. After two rings the automated message came on. At the first opportunity, she hit John’s extension.
“Sheriff Caldwell speaking.”
Austin’s pulse exploded in rhythm at the mix of anger and fear. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
A pause was met by that all too annoying laugh. “Hello, my wife. I was worried about you. God, it feels good to finally hear your voice.”
“I’m
not your wife anymore, dammit.” She turned to start pacing when she nearly dropped the phone. Scott and William were standing in her doorway. Concern masking their faces. Shit. They were the last two people she wanted hearing this conversation. Why was it every time she was on the phone they were suddenly there?
John laughed. “Wow, someone is upset.”
“Damn right I am. Listen to me, and listen well. You have to leave Grady and Henry alone. They have no part in this.”
“That’s where you’re wrong, love. You see, I know they’re hiding you somewhere, and for all I know, they could be getting you to make this call to get me off their trail. You might be injured, or maybe they violated you in some way. How am I supposed to know? I think we should meet so I can make sure myself. If you come and you’re in perfect health, I’ll back off. Simple as that.”
Austin closed her eyes. She’d expected this. “We both know I’m perfectly fine.” A beep came through and she ignored it, continuing. “I won’t meet you. I’m not even in Texas anymore. You’re just wasting your time. Give up, and just start over. Find someone new.”
“You’re my wife!”
Austin jerked the phone back from her ear.
“May I?” Scott slowly walked up, reaching out toward the phone. “Let me get rid of him for you.”
Austin covered the speaker. “This is my mess. I can’t bring anyone else into it.”
“I’m not just anyone.” Scott grabbed the phone and hit the speakerphone button.
“John, right?”
A short silence went through the room. “Who is this?”
“You don’t worry about that. All you need to know is that Austin is fine, and she’s through with you. It’s time you back the fuck off her and her friends, and move on with your life. If you don’t, you’ll have more problems than you can imagine.”
John laughed. “Is that right? Enlighten me.”
“I have a friend in Internal Affairs. They take harassment very seriously.”
“You, too?” He laughed. “Sorry buddy. Like I told the judge, you can contact IA as much as you want. They’re not gonna to do anything to me. In their eyes, I haven’t done a damn thing wrong.”
Scott jaw tightened. “We’ll see about that. Expect a visit here real soon.”
“Enough of you. Put Austin back on.”
A smile came to Scott face. “No, I don’t think so. You see, Austin doesn’t want to talk to you anymore. She has me now.”
“And me,” William said, leaning in.
Austin clenched her fists. Shit. Her eyes came back to the phone.
“There’s two of you? With my wife?” he shouted. “Austin, get the fuck back on the phone.”
Shaking took over her body as she stared down. “Ex-wife,” she corrected. “I’m done with you, John. Stay away. Leave Grady and Henry alone. They have no idea where I am, or who I’m with. Just let go and move on.” She grabbed the phone from Scott and hung up. “I can’t believe you both just said that. Did you hear how angry he was? I don’t think what you did made things better. If anything, they’re going to be worse.”
Scott leaned against the counter. “I’m not so sure. The faster he learns you moved on, the easier it’ll be for him to let you go.”
“I think he’s right,” William agreed. “He’s mad now, but it had to come at some point. Better to just get it over with.”
Although what they said made sense, she knew John, and she wasn’t so sure. “Well, thank you for that. You didn’t have to try to protect me.”
“We want to,” Scott assured her. “How’s your friends? Are they still coming?”
Austin shook her head. “John has people following them. They didn’t feel it would be safe.”
“Give it a few weeks. John will move on when he lets what we said sink in. Plus, he’ll see Grady and Henry going on with their lives and lose interest.”
“I truly hope so, Scott.” She glanced at the phone. “Is there something y’all needed?”
The men looked at each other, but brought their attention back to her. Scott nodded. “I wanted to apologize and explain why I stopped us from continuing.”
“No.” She put up her hand. “You already explained. You gave me what I asked for. End of story.”
He grabbed her hand, pulling her into his body. “It’s more than that.” The phone was eased from her grasp and placed on the countertop. “I was trying to respect your wishes. The last thing I’d want is to take advantage of you. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
“But you didn’t want to do it. Not really. You were helping a friend. That’s it.”
William walked over, his head shaking back and forth. “You can’t believe that. Please say that wasn’t the impression you got.”
Of course it was. Austin wasn’t sure whether to step back or continue to let Scott hold her. She was so confused. She wanted Scott and William to ravage her, but not if it was a charity act.
Scott brought her face up. “You don’t think we want you?”
“I’m not sure,” she said, honestly.
“Well, we do,” William said. “That’s the problem though, Austin. We want you bad, and we’re afraid that might make things harder for you in the long run. What if we start something and you decide rushing was a mistake? Then not only do we lose you, but we turn into the bad guys because we knew better.”
Austin pressed her lips together as she took in their concern. “You’ve both put a lot of thought into this.”
“We don’t want to hurt you.” Scott said, moving his hands to settle on the sides of her arms. The embrace against his body had felt good. Now that he was holding her at a distance, a slight emptiness followed.
The phone caught her attention and she knew she needed to call Grady back. “How about this. I’m going to assure Grady everything is okay. You both head over to the house. We’ll eat dinner, and then go get a beer at Wildhorse.”
“No more overanalyzing. We take one day at a time. If something happens, we let it. If not, we still have each other. Now, I’m a big girl. Give me the benefit of the doubt. I can take care of myself. Let’s just have fun and enjoy each other’s company. No matter what that includes.”
The men nodded. “Okay, then.” William slapped Scott’s shoulder. “We’ll see you for dinner soon.”
As she watched them go, Austin couldn’t stop the peace that settled within her. They needed for this to have happen. Now that the terms were clear, there shouldn’t be any more problems between the three of them. At least she hoped there wouldn’t be.
* * * *
The laughter was thick in the air, blending in with the blaring country music that filled The Wildhorse. It seemed the moment William caught his breath, James or Scott was saying something else that had him holding his side from the lack of air.
“Come on, now,” James said, leaning the top half of his body over the table. “You know that shit wasn’t my fault.” He brought his attention to Austin. “Don’t listen to, Scott. I swear, when I tripped, it was on accident. The last thing I wanted to do was send my beer flying in that biker’s face. I sported a black eye for almost three damn weeks because of that.”
Scott shook his hand at Austin. “A black eye would have been the least of his problems if William and I wouldn’t have been there to save his ass. But the real story all started hours before that. William,” he said, glancing over at him, “decided he thought he was going to start drinking before we ever left the house. I blame it all on him. Go on,” Scott said, “show her your famous chicken dance.”
He shook his head, laughing. “No way. I only do that when I’m ready to fight. Seems to get them every time.”
“Chicken dance?” Austin smiled and looked over at him. “Show me. I have to see this.”
Heat filled his cheeks and he couldn’t believe he was actually feeling embarrassed. “No way. Come on, guys.”
“Does it look something like this?” Austin stood, flapping her arms and dancing around. Lau
ghter exploded from James and Scott. William stood, not able to keep in his own amusement.
“Fine. Okay. But no making fun of me, dammit. I doubt I can pull it off with as much grace as you did. I haven’t had nearly enough beer.” As he began imitating Austin’s near mirroring actions of his own drunk self, William couldn’t continue after a few seconds. Tears were coming from his eyes, he was laughing so hard.
A new song came on and he jumped at the opportunity. “Come on, baby. Let’s go dance.” He threw Austin over his shoulder and jogged to the dance floor. As he lowered her and they blended in with the crowd, he noticed how happy she was.
From the moment they all sat down for dinner, things had gone right back to the way they usually were. It’d been great and only turned better as the hours ticked by and they parted ways to get ready for their night out. When Austin returned in a pair of tight pants and a fitted black tank top, William and Scott had took one look at each other and nearly said fuck going out. They wanted her. The long curls she usually wore up were styled and pulled back, resting thickly behind her. Tiny ringlets escaped, framing her face. She looked stunning.
William pulled Austin against him, and spun out of the way of another couple. She tightened her arms around his neck and brushed her finger up and down the sensitive skin just below his hair line. White teeth flashed at him.
“You’re playing with fire, baby. You’ve done this every time we’ve danced. I’m starting to think you’re trying to tell me something.”
“And if I am?”
William licked his lips. “I think I can take the hint. What do you say we leave here early? Maybe head back to the house and continue where we left off earlier.”
“I’d say that sounds—”
Austin’s face turned pale as she looked toward the crowded bar. The stumbling of her feet had William catching her before she fell to the side.
“You okay?” He looked in the direction she was staring. “What is it? Do you see someone?”
From his view, nothing stood out. People were crowded around as usual, and no one appeared to be staring at them. He helped her off the dance floor and stopped just outside the nearest tables.
