The Titan: The Luke Titan Chronicles 6/6

Are you well, Christian? Are the apparitions gone? Are the things you told me true? Maybe. Maybe I did delude myself for a long, long time. Or maybe, I only let you in my head for a second too long down in that basement. The question you’ll wonder, without doubt, is which one I believe.
That will dictate my actions.
I hope you are well, Christian. More, though, I hope we have a chance to see each other again in the future. You can, as you know, always come visit me. Who knows? Maybe one day I’ll be able to visit you.
Time will tell.
Always yours,
Luke Titan
“What’s that, honey?” Christian’s mother asked.
He looked up, having not realized she was awake. His neighbor had delivered his mail to the hospital this morning … and there it was—another letter.
Christian reached for the remote and turned the television volume down.
Are you well, Christian?
He glanced around the room, his eyes ending up on his mother. He saw no apparitions. He heard no dead speaking to him. Maybe, somewhere deep inside himself, a mansion resided. Perhaps it was small or perhaps it was large, or perhaps it didn’t even exist at all. Christian didn’t venture there anymore, and with any luck, he’d never have to again.
“It’s nothing, Mom,” he said.
Christian stood and went to his mother’s bed. He kissed her on the forehead.
“I love you,” he told her.
The End.
On Purpose and Other Things
Thanks for reading, and I mean that wholeheartedly. I love telling stories and without you, that wouldn’t be possible.
I know at the end of books, a lot of writers offer you something free if you sign-up for their mailing list. What they’re doing, essentially, is buying your email address.
I don’t want to do that.
I think having a purpose in life is important. It adds clarity and meaning to what you do. I’m lucky to know mine and that purpose dictates my life: I’m here to tell stories. Nothing else even comes close to the happiness this job gives me.
With that said, if you like reading my novels and want to know when the next book comes out, sign-up below. No tricks. No buying your address. Just me telling stories and you enjoying them.
The way these relationships should work.
