And also a big thanks to my other editors, my dad and Deborah, who graciously worked within my schedule with limited notice.

I am also incredibly grateful to have found my new cover designer, Karri. She is talented, professional and easy to work with, and produces incredible covers. I love my cover for this book, and am excited about the upcoming covers for the rest of the series.

In terms of ongoing support with my life while I was buried in this book, there are so many people to thank including friends on- and offline, but the biggest thanks goes to my husband, Marc. Being married to an author means he has to put up with a lot, but he remains incredibly supportive of my writing. And he’s willing to do all the nappy changes and wiping of sticky fingers that is the practical outworking of that support. These books are a team effort!

My life has changed in so many ways since I started writing this book, and I’m so grateful to God for opening up a new season for our family. Now I can’t wait to see where the adventure of this series will take us!

  About the Author

Melanie Cellier grew up on a staple diet of books, books and more books. And although she got older she never stopped loving children’s and young adult novels.

She always wanted to write one herself but it took three careers and three different continents before she actually managed it.

She now feels incredibly fortunate to spend her time writing from her home in Canberra, Australia where they don’t have a beach but they do have kangaroos hopping down the streets. Her staple diet hasn’t changed much, although she’s added choc mint Rooibos tea and Chicken Crimpies to the list.

Her young adult Four Kingdoms and Beyond the Four Kingdoms series are made up of linked stand-alone stories that retell classic fairy tales.
