“Oh, God.” Aaron’s breath hitched as Kreed captured the tightening bud between his teeth. Aaron’s fingers dug into his shoulders as he continued to toy with the metal ring. Kreed gave the other nipple an equal amount of attention then settled himself between Aaron’s spread legs.

“Where were we?” Aaron bit his lip and pulled his legs to his chest, his eyes hooded with lust as he purred the words. Kreed leaned over his church boy and brushed his finger across his brow, moving a stray strand of dark hair that had fallen close to his blue eyes. Aaron smiled up at him.

“Losing myself in you.” Kreed’s eyes locked with Aaron’s as he positioned himself and pushed into his lover’s constricting heat. Kreed held himself up on his forearms to gaze down at Aaron.

Aaron’s eyes glazed over and his lips parted on a sigh. Kreed’s heart fluttered as he watched an unmistakable look of pleasure cross the kid’s face.

“Mmm…fuck. Sin,” Aaron rumbled, licking his lips. Kreed loved the way his nickname flowed off Aaron’s tongue. Warm hands slid up Kreed’s back, lingering at the nape of his neck before sifting through his hair and urging him down.

Kreed took Aaron’s mouth, thrusting his tongue into the warm recesses, probing, tasting everything that was Aaron. He licked across the kid’s teeth then sucked his tongue. Aaron responded by digging his fingernails deep into his scalp. Kreed stiffened his tongue, mouth-fucking him while he drove his cock deep into Aaron’s body. Aaron returned the heated kiss with abandon, his hips lifting to meet every thrust.

Tearing his mouth from the kiss, he nipped at Aaron’s neck and shoulders, tasting his salty, sweat-dampened skin as his dick slid in and out of Aaron’s tightness. The hot, delicious, and forbidden feeling blanketed him.

“Make me come, Sin,” Aaron pleaded.

“My pleasure,” he growled against Aaron’s ear. Balancing on an elbow, he sped up his thrust, aiming for that sensitive bundle of nerves that made Aaron squirm. He worked his hand between their heated bodies, took Aaron in his grip, and stroked him in earnest. His hips pounded out the perfect rhythm as hot skin slid against hot skin. Damn, he was so close, and the small sounds of pleasure coming from Aaron made it hard to concentrate on his own movement. The pressure built in his spine and rolled up to the base of his skull. He was holding on by a thread.

“Let me feel you come around my dick.” His words were breathy, needy, and commanding, but he was rewarded when Aaron’s ass tightened around him.

“Aaah gah…yes.” Aaron panted, shook violently, then turned rigid as hot come spread between their joined bodies. Kreed pushed in deep, burying himself to the hilt as Aaron thrashed beneath him.

“Ah, fuck, church boy.” The wild contractions in Aaron’s ass pushed him completely over. The force of his orgasm took his breath, and everything went black except the burst of white spots that danced behind his eyes.

Kreed threw his head back and shouted through his release. Their pleasure-filled groans mingled, saturating the otherwise silent room. Riding the waves of his climax, his body bowed and his cock twitched as his seed filled the latex in Aaron’s passage. Spent, he collapsed on Aaron’s chest.

Awareness slowly trickled into his brain. At this moment, his body was so relaxed it felt heavy. His heart still thundered in his chest but his wasn’t the only one. He could feel Aaron’s beating out the same rhythm. He lifted his head and upper body then pressed his lips to Aaron’s forehead, drawing him as close as he could, before kissing his eye, nose, and cheek. Their bodies fused together with sweat and cooling come, and he wouldn’t want it any other way.

“You know we have to get up, right?” Kreed smiled at Aaron, stroking his cheek with his thumb, trying to soften the news. They had a job to do today; people were counting on them. Kreed wanted every part of this case closed and behind them so he could spend his days wrapped up with Aaron just like this.

“I know. I just don’t want to,” Aaron whispered, his fingers lazily roaming up and down Kreed’s back as they held each other. The smell of sweat and sex hung heavy in the air, a pleasant reminder of what they’d shared.

“Come on. We need another shower then we have to get you dressed for church.” Kreed shifted positions, and his softening cock slipped from Aaron’s body, making him groan.

“What if I said I would rather stay right here in bed with you and forget about those religious freaks?”

“I’d say you have the best ideas. But you know we can’t.” He kissed Aaron and rolled to his side.

As much as he hated leaving the warmth of the man next to him, he forced himself to get up, making it as far as placing his feet on the floor and standing, before turning back to his church boy.

“First one to the shower gets a blow job!”

  Chapter 24

A warm front blew through, making the weather not only bearable, but nice. Aaron left his jacket at the house and found he was in a great mood, actually happy this morning, as he walked across the street with a little kick in his step. He couldn’t hide the smile plastered across his face and had to lower his head to keep from looking like an idiot. What a strange reaction with the heavy weight of this case looming over his head.

He hadn’t been expecting the breakthrough he and Kreed had had this morning. It was a welcome surprise, one he was reminded of with every step he took. They’d had earth-moving, toe-curling, better-than-chocolate sex. Well, he had kind of initiated that, but who started what didn’t matter right now. For the first time in his life, he wasn’t concerned about whatever system he planned to hack or about this case Mitch dropped in his lap; he was focused on a guy and that felt amazing.

Aaron entered the church a little before starting time. Stella was already at the front desk. Today he was finally prepared to meet her normal bubbly, religiously over-the-top greeting with one of his own. Instead, she looked up with a firm frown stretched across her round face, not the always pleasant person he’d grown to expect. This morning all she could do was shake her head before lowering her eyes and looking away as he passed by.

Okay, that was odd. His smile faded. The vibe he got chilled him to his bones. The whole attitude here was wrong. The place felt off. That self-righteous air that seeped from the walls of this building was upset this morning. Aaron lowered his brow and took a step backward toward the desk. With his safety being top of mind, he shouldn’t get too far in without knowing what was going on.

“Is there something wrong today?” he asked the secretary before remembering to turn his body so the cross pin could capture the image and conversation.

“They’re flaunting their sin. Pastor Helps is very unhappy this morning,” she said, as if that explained everything.

“I’m not sure what happened. I stayed up late reading my Bible.” Aaron repeated the words he’d heard over and over since starting his job at the church. That seemed to be a perfect excuse for anything not done around this place. It excused everything.

“Those homosexuals keep making the news. It’s disgraceful and utterly disgusting,” she whispered angrily. Aaron assumed she referred to Colt Michaels. He suspected the guy got regular coverage around here, being too popular to fade away easily.

So that meant their night out had worked. He hoped Kreed and the alphabet boys got that little piece of intel. His phone vibrated in his pocket, and he suspected that was Kreed confirming his thought.

“I didn’t see. I don’t watch that much TV. It’s the devil’s tool,” Aaron said, unsure really what else to say in order to keep her talking.

“It’s disturbing. They are abominations before the Lord. The Bible says they are to be put to death and their blood will be on their own heads. Leviticus 20:13.” Aaron was sickened by her words, but he just nodded, tried to look upset, and left the entryway. On the way back to his office, everyone who had already arrived had about that same attitude. These people were absolutely certifiable. The mood of the building was dark and totally creeped him out, sending a shiver racing down his spine.
/>   The lone guy who now made up the entire IT department with him was actually in this morning, typing away on his computer. That was a little bit of a surprise. He never spoke, and Aaron wasn’t entirely certain of his name. Maybe something like Jeb, but the not-speaking part was nothing new. Techie guys weren’t usually known for their sparkling personalities. He’d learned Jeb’s absence came from spending lots of time in the chapel, on his knees. Prayer seemed the other acceptable excuse as to why the staff didn’t get their daily tasks completed. Aaron had only really seen Jeb a couple of times in passing since he’d started.

“I can’t get a video to play on my computer,” Pastor Helps barked at the door to their office. Aaron was the first to respond, moving in the direction of the pastor, who might have been a little more surly than normal, but it was honestly hard to tell.

“I’ll be happy to take a look for you,” Aaron offered, and Pastor Helps grumbled something unintelligible. The old preacher was slow on his feet, and Aaron stayed a step or two behind as they entered the administration office. Julie had about the same disposition as Stella, with her face all pinched up in disgust. No one around the place appeared pleased this morning. Mitch must have outdone himself last night. Aaron was kind of sorry he’d missed their little show. Again, his phone vibrated in his slacks, and after a second or two, he decided against checking who texted. If it were Kreed or Connors, surely they could see he was occupied. “What’s it doing?”

“It’s not playing,” Pastor Helps barked.

“Yes, sir. I mean, does it open?” Aaron asked.

“I don’t know. See for yourself.” The older man didn’t hover this morning, and that was odd. Instead, he took a seat across the desk while Aaron made himself comfortable in the one behind Pastor Helps’s computer. His guess was that there was a simple update that needed to be done, but he sat there longer than normal, trying to see if there was anything else he could get off this computer.

“I’m tired,” the pastor finally said, breaking the silence. Aaron looked over to see his head lowered; he was rubbing his eyes with his thumb and forefinger.

“Yes, sir. You work hard.” He had no idea what to say but wanted to keep him talking.

“You came from New Hope University, right? I remember a pastor there. He was a true fundamentalist to the core. Professor Lehman. Was he still there?” Aaron hated those kinds of questions because, while he’d schooled himself on the faculty, he had no idea who’d come and gone over the years.

Thankfully he was saved from answering the question when the door to the outer office flew open making a terrible racket as it banged against the wall. Aaron looked up as a tall, well-dressed man came barreling into the room. His insides ran cold. He knew the voice. Deacon Silas Burns. Julie barely got a greeting out before the Deacon began raging.

Hours of schooling himself on everyone involved had paid off. This was actually the first time he’d seen the deacon in person, since the man was supposedly in Mexico. He was as scary as his pictures looked. The disfigurement of his face came by way of a scar that ran from the center of his forehead down across the right eye, all the way to his ear. His face contorted with anger, his stance volatile and threatening.

The deacon came at the pastor in such a way that Aaron involuntarily scooted back in his chair, reaching for the weapon strapped to his calf inside his slacks. What he thought he’d do with it against the likes of this clearly evil man, he had no idea, but Pastor Helps was an old man. He had to try. When Aaron’s eyes moved back to the pastor, the realization hit him, stopping him in his tracks. Helps was just as enraged as the deacon.

“The sodomites are brazenly flaunting themselves in front of God. The expression on their faces bears witness against them, and they display their sin like Sodom; they do not even conceal it. Woe to them! For they have brought evil on themselves. Isaiah 3:9,” the deacon shouted.

Aaron’s heart began to race as he realized what was going down. He lowered his head and put his hands on the keyboard as the pastor’s voice echoed the deacon’s sentiment when he said, “We are to be diligent watchmen, my brethren. It is our duty to sound the alarm. Ezekiel 33:6 says, ‘But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require from the watchman’s hand.’ Brother Langley gave his life for shooting that detestable homosexual who paraded around as a highway patrol officer, flaunting his unnatural desire, and for punishing the other wicked sodomites for their ungodly sins. He was a true disciple and did as commanded by the Lord. The filthy fags will be held accountable for their inequities. Sodomy is punishable by death. We must finish Brother Langley’s work and do as we’ve been instructed and exact the wrath of God for their flagrant displays of homosexuality.”

Aaron’s stomach roiled at the hate coming from these men’s mouths. He rose quietly from the chair, careful not to draw attention to himself as he headed around the other side of the desk and out of the room. He kept his head down as he walked; his entire body shook under the fear of those words.

Luckily, he’d checked the connection to the alphabet boys a moment ago. The computer was recording, and the pastor had just acknowledged knowing what happened to Cody. Hopefully if he left, they would give a full confession in their anger. Aaron had barely made it out of the office, before the pastor’s door slammed shut, closing the two men inside the room behind him. His eyes had to be as big as saucers as he rushed away from that office.

“Josiah!” Julie whispered harshly, catching his attention, motioning him over to her desk. He lifted his eyes to the side outside door, estimating maybe twenty steps to that door. His heart pounded so hard and the blood rushed to his head so fast he couldn’t think straight as he moved toward Julie’s desk. Surely, he could deal with her. He was just so relieved he wasn’t trapped in that room with those radical freaks any longer.

“You must keep what you’ve heard to yourself, Josiah. It’s very important. You wouldn’t have been hired if they didn’t trust you completely.”

Aaron nodded, freaking out a little more, because in his mind, she’d just admitted to knowing what was going on too. He nodded again, turned on his heel and headed for the administration office door. It took everything inside him to walk down the hall—not run—toward the reception area and outside the front doors of the church. As he got closer, Aaron couldn’t resist the urge to bolt any longer. All the hate and malevolence oozing from those supposed men of God freaked him the fuck out. In the battle of good versus evil, Deacon Burns was a vile and malicious force and completely supported by the members of this church office.

Aaron took off running toward the house as Kreed busted through the front door with his weapon drawn. That justified his fear; Kreed would never break cover so completely without a verifiable threat. Kreed never looked his way, his entire being laser-focused on the church. Aaron barely made it up the front porch steps before he saw two large tactical vehicles flying down the street from opposite directions. As he ran past, Kreed backed away, coming inside, slamming the door shut with his foot. Only then did he turn around.

“What the fuck happened? Was that enough information? I tried to get everything I could!” Aaron yelled as his heart raced in his chest. Everything had happened so quickly that his adrenalin pumped, making him a little frantic. Kreed thrust a walkie-talkie and a pistol in his hands, and he accepted them without an argument, gripping the handle of the pistol tightly in his fingers.

“Stay put. Keep the doors locked. Stay away from the windows.” Kreed turned to leave, but Aaron grabbed his hand.

  “What’s happening?”

“Whatever you did gave the visual. Helps told Burns to go after Mitch, to take him down and any others standing in their way because they were no more than abominations that needed to be cast into the lake of fire, but Hasselbeck had broken a few minutes before. He confessed what was going on. It all came toge
ther at the same time. I gotta go.” Kreed shook Aaron off, yelling a quick “Lock the door” before he left.

The Midlothian Police Department cruisers turned on the street with sirens blaring about the same time that Kreed ran across the church’s front lawn toward the building. The church was already surrounded with bureau agents and USMS deputies, all swarming both the interior and outer buildings. He stopped by a bureau truck, badge in hand as he identified himself. He pointed his finger toward the house they’d used and quickly yelled, “I need you to watch that house.”

In all his panic to get out here, Kreed had barely tugged the official marshal jacket on, identifying him as a deputy US marshal. The volume of screams coming from inside the building had him ducking while running toward the front doors, weapon still drawn, pointed toward the ground with each step he took.

The scene inside was chaotic at best. Staff members were already handcuffed and sitting or lying on the ground, depending on how much they’d resisted arrest. Kreed was cautious as he walked through the room. He looked down the hall before he continued. Vicious words echoed off the walls, drowning everything else out. The pastor was in rare form, spewing vile Bible verses of hellfire and brimstone. Kreed saw more agents than should have been needed, making him move more swiftly toward the main office. Brody Masters came out the door when Kreed was about halfway down the hall. He was talking into a handheld radio, only pausing when he saw Kreed.

“Deacon Burns got away. He got past us somehow.”

Fuck! He’d left Aaron alone in the house with no one really. What if the lunatic followed Aaron? Fear coiled in his gut, and Kreed’s heart wedged in his throat.

Kreed didn’t say a word. He spun on his heels and took off running as fast as he could toward the house. He could hear Masters’s booming voice instructing others to set up perimeters and search each and every house near the church’s complex, but Kreed never slowed as he sprinted across the street. Burns could have seen the way he’d covered Aaron as he’d left the church and figured out Aaron was involved in this somehow. He hadn’t considered the consequences when he’d busted out of the house; he knew what Aaron didn’t, and his only goal was getting Stuart to safety.
