Tanglewood Grotto (The Bavarian Woods Book 2)
Page 27
The following morning, they shared Sofie’s news with the rest of their community. Johanna and Peter had heard about their father’s tragic love affair and felt only compassion for him, said they loved him and weren’t going to judge him. Anyway, they were thrilled that they had suddenly inherited an older sister from the future; or was she from the past? Oh well, they decided it didn’t really matter. They had a sister.
Sofie informed them, “You both have a nephew, too. Tobias. And you will have another nephew or a niece early next year.”
They both smiled, said they had figured that out, were thrilled, and they hugged Sofie.
Sofie said, “I never thought I would be a part of a big family—though I must admit, I never dreamed it would be such a tangled family”—causing everyone to laugh and nod. “This is the best news anyone could have given me.”
Ingrid nodded. “I feel the same way. I’m no longer an outsider.”
As for Vikktor, he’d had a long talk with the time travelers before they had left the Braun family’s farm. At the end, he’d told them he was going home to his wife but would check with them from time to time. If any of them decided they wanted to go back to the future, he would make it happen (just not through the portal with no door knob). For now they would all stay. They had a house to build, after all.
