I drew him in close and kissed the top of his head. You are so fucking important; you have no idea.

“France, huh?” His voice was wistful. “I’ve never been there.” He tilted his head to the side, further towards me. I kissed his hair again.

That I knew. Part of the reason for why I'd chosen Paris. Also, his previous best friend was an exchange student there, and maybe he'd want to take the chance to reconnect when he was actually in the city itself. His ex had ruined so much for him—I wanted to fix what I could.

In return, just seeing him happy made me happy.

I love you, Kasey. I do. One day I’d say it to him. Maybe in Paris—or at a later time. It didn’t matter really. Those words… I didn’t personally think they were that special. Having never said them, having never had them said to me… it wasn’t that important. But the way I felt about him, it was real, so I was able to feel those kinds of deep-seated feelings.

I’d say them to him eventually.

And hopefully, he’d say them back.

  Afterword

Thanks so much for reading Bruised Heart. I'd originally planned for this to be part of the next long book but eventually figured that book should also be from Kasey's POV. So you get a short in Wynn's head for now!

We don't know much about Wynn yet. We'll find out a lot more in the next book, but we get a bit of a tease in this short. There's a lot more to him and we'll learn about it along with Kasey.

I'm not sure when the next book will be out, I've got some other books I want to write first. But never fear: it will come soon!

If you enjoyed this book, I would very much appreciate it if you’d be so kind as to leave a review. Thanks again for reading! Until next time.

  Best,

  Tina T. Kove
