“Of course not.” Maybe not. “But I’m also not all over the media proving that I am.”

“Neither am I, anymore. I’ve changed. I want different things, now. So do you.” He moved closer to her until they were toe-to-toe.

“How would you know what I want? You’ve known me a month!”

“So? There are people I’ve known my whole life who don’t know me as well as you did before we ever met. I’ve got a tat to prove it.” He rubbed his hands over her shoulders, then slid them under her hair to the sides of her neck. The intensity in his brown-black eyes made her nipples tighten and shot a laser of heat straight to her pussy.

Dammit. She had a career to salvage. This wasn’t what she wanted. Breaking eye contact, she made the mistake of focusing on his plush lips just as he licked them before pulling her mouth to his. For a moment, she held back, but her body and mind would have to hash out their differences later. She ran her hands up under his shirt and kissed him back, as hungry for him as he seemed to be for her.

Sam’s hands tightened in her hair and he pressed her against the car, holding her firmly in place with his body while his lips and tongue continued their assault on her mouth. His hardening dick nudged her belly and her hand moved toward it. Then she remembered she was a fucking adult, and shoved at his chest.

“Stop. I don’t want this, okay? I’ve got my life and career, such that it is. And you’ll start shooting Hostile Takeover 4 when this one wraps, and--”

  “No I won’t.”

  “What?”

  “I turned it down.”

“I saw the script in your trailer.”

“Very sleuthy, however you jumped to the wrong conclusion. My reps overnighted it to me, but I didn’t even open the damn thing.”

  “Why not?”

“Because it’s crap. I don’t need to look past the title page to see that. I told them I’ll walk if they don’t get me smarter roles. That’s why I was late coming to set-- how long do you think it takes to put on a tux? I was on the phone firing my agents and bringing Mitch up to speed.”

“Oh. Wow...” She felt... something. A jumble of somethings.

  Pride.

  Embarrassment.

  Fear.

“Oh my god there he is!” A couple college-aged girls squealed and ran across the parking lot toward them. “Sam! Can we get a picture with you? We’ve been camping out all day!”

He murmured an apology, then smiled for pictures, signed the backs of the girls’ shirts and let his self-proclaimed biggest fans make a funny little video with him. The girls were charmed.

  As was Natalie.

One of the girls noticed her leaning on the car nearby. “Who’s that? She’s gorgeous.”

“Yeah, she is.” Sam looked at Natalie and his cheek creased in a warm, sexy smile.

The other girl pointed her camera at Natalie. “Are you an actress?”

She chuckled and joined them. “No. I’m Natalie Simmons, Sam’s new agent.” Knowing that would be all over the internet within the hour, she met Sam’s eyes expecting a challenge. There wasn’t one. But there was warmth. And he moved toward her with a delicious threat that made her panties wet and her mouth go dry.

“But she’s your girlfriend, too, right? You guys are so cute together!”

“I dunno... I asked her to come to Italy with me, but she turned me down.”

“That was so long ago! I wasn’t even your agent back then!” she smirked up at him.

He glanced at the girl with the camera. “You gettin’ all this?”

  “Uh, yeah! Are you kidding?”

Then he wrapped an arm around Natalie’s waist and pulled her against him. “Come to Italy with me.”

  “Okay.”

She hadn’t even finished saying the word before his mouth was on hers.

They weren’t even out of the parking lot before the video was online.
