Their Little Princess

He motioned to the unfinished room. “This is what I am. This is what I do. Is it enough?”

He was fiercely intense, his passion and love burning hot inside of him. She loved everything about him. She took his hands in hers.

“You are more than enough—just as you are. You are the light shining in the darkness of my soul, and I am the same for you. I’ve waited all my life to find you, Tanner Malone. Don’t for a moment think I’m going to let you go.”

He pulled her close and kissed her. The familiar feel of his body was enough to make her melt against him. Nothing had ever been as right as being with him.

“So when do you want to get married?” he asked.

She laughed. “Not if, but when?”

He stared at her. “When,” he repeated firmly. “I’m not letting you get away, Kelly. I love you too much as it is.”

“I’m guilty of that, too,” she said. “Yes, I’ll marry you. Whenever you’d like.”

“How about after the hospital dedication? Then we can take time off and have a real honeymoon.”

He kissed her again. She was having trouble thinking as he worked his magic on her. She pulled back enough to ask, “What about the wedding. Isn’t that important as well?”

“Very important. Just don’t make me eat a pink cake.”

  “I promise.”

He stared at her. “I’ll love you forever.”

“I know.” That was the best part, she thought as she hugged him close. She did know.

  Epilogue

The crowd was definitely louder. Tanner and Kelly moved in time with the music, but it was impossible to talk over the noise.

“This is getting out of hand,” she said into his ear. He barely heard her.

“Tell me about it. But they’re having a great time.”

He glanced around his brother’s living room. The large area was crammed with well-wishers. Despite the fact that they’d pulled together an engagement party less than two weeks after they’d decided to get married, the turn-out had been huge. It seemed as if everyone in their lives wanted to wish them well.

Tanner had already met Corina, the pretty young teenager Kelly was going to mentor, and Daniel, Kelly’s father. The minister had been warm, welcoming Tanner to the family. Tanner had sensed immediately that they were going to be good friends as well as in-laws.

He felt a tap on his shoulder. “Don’t even think about it,” he said, turning to glance at his brother. “No one dances with my fiancée except me.”

But Ryan wasn’t smiling. “I need to speak to you for a second,” he said.

“Go ahead,” Kelly told him, already stepping back. “I want to get something to drink. I’ll catch up with you in a couple of minutes.”

Tanner nodded, then followed Ryan into the study. His brother shut the door. Instantly the noise level dropped considerably.

“What is it?” Tanner asked. When Ryan didn’t answer, Tanner got a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. “Don’t tell me there’s another problem with the funding.”

“Nothing like that,” Ryan assured him.

  “Then what?”

Ryan pointed to the phone receiver resting on the desk blotter. “We have a call,” he said. “It’s from a man claiming to be our long lost brother.”

  A Note From the Author

I was thrilled and excited when I learned our wonderful editors at Silhouette Special Edition were interested in Christine Flynn, Christine Rimmer and myself writing more Prescription: Marriage books. My first one, PRINCE CHARMING, M.D., had been so much fun to write and the “two Chris’s” and I worked very well together.

Creating characters for a series is always a challenge. While each hero and heroine needs to be unique for each story, there also have to be elements which link everyone together. The first Prescription: Marriage novels had three friends who were nurses as well as heroines. This time we decided to go a little deeper. Not only are our heroines good friends and doctors, but two of our heroes are brothers while the third is…well, that’s a surprise to be revealed in the third book—DR. MOM AND THE MILLIONAIRE, out next month!

We added children to the mix in this new series. In the first book, A DOCTOR’S VOW, Ryan Malone had three children of his own. Kids are fun to write about because they always get the best lines. In THEIR LITTLE PRINCESS, Tanner finds himself the father of a newborn…with about twenty-four hours notice. The third book of the series, DR. MOM AND THE MILLIONAIRE, has a four-year-old Tyler charming the socks off everyone.

Children add a special dimension to any romantic relationship. Children up the stakes, add complications and often give the very best hugs. We all enjoyed our time with our wonderful heroes and heroines, and their extended families.

So, welcome to the continuation of Prescription: Marriage, part two. We promise lots of love, laughs, those steamy bits and plenty of hugs for all.
