  “You’re Jonas Kerry, aren’t you?”

  “Yes,” Jonas answered.

  “I love your music.”

  “Thanks.”

“Would you like his autograph?” Brenton asked.

“Yes, but I don’t want to disturb your meal.”

“No problem,” Jonas said, taking a pen out of his jacket pocket. The waiter gave him a piece of paper, and Jonas signed it.

“Thank you, Jonas. Enjoy the dessert.”

  “Is this really sugar-free?”

The waiter nodded. “It’s also vegan.”

Jonas sampled it. “Delicious. What’s vegan?” Frankie had mentioned it recently.

“It means it doesn’t contain dairy or meat,” the waiter explained. “A lot of people come here just for the desserts.”

  “Are you vegan?” Jonas asked.

“Yes,” the waiter said. “Enjoy the rest of your meal.” He walked away.

“You’ve just made a new friend,” Brenton said as he sliced into his dessert with a knife.”

“Hmm, well I’ll probably never see him again since I never come to Metairie, and I don’t know his name.”

“It’s Ethan,” Brenton said. He held up the copy of the bill the waiter had discretely given to him. “He included his phone number.”

“What makes you think that’s for me? He gave you the bill.”

Brenton handed him the piece of paper. “Read it.”

“Call me sometimes, Jonas. Oh!” Jonas handed Brenton the receipt. “I think you better keep this.”

Brenton nodded. “That was the plan.”

They finished dessert and left the restaurant. It was still very early in the day, but instead of Brenton taking him home, he took Jonas to a music store in the mall where he shopped for guitar picks and a new microphone. Jonas picked up some music books to write songs in.

“You’re working on new music?” Brenton asked as they got back into his car.

  “Yes. How about you?”

“Yes. Suddenly I’m inspired,” Brenton said. He looked over at Jonas. “I wonder why.”

Jonas shrugged and smiled. All he knew was that he was having an incredibly great day. Only one more thing could make it complete.

“Want to chill at my place for a little while?” Brenton asked.

  Jonas nodded happily. That’s it.

  Chapter Thirteen

Having a gorgeous guy in his kitchen felt amazing. Brenton had given Jonas the grand tour of his apartment after they stopped at the grocery, and Jonas had insisted on fixing them a snack so they could relax in the music room. Brenton got comfortable on one of the bar stools at the counter and watched Jonas prepare a salt-free taco dip for them. “You sing and you cook, too?”

Jonas cut up the tomatoes and then peeled, diced, and smashed the avocado. “Yes, but Frankie does most of the cooking and very seldom allows me in the kitchen. He also won’t let me help him clean the house or cut the grass.”

“Sounds like your brother has a lot of nervous energy,” Brenton said, admiring the way Jonas looked in one of his aprons. His waist was so narrow that he had to wrap the tie around him a couple of times. They had both taken off the coat to their suits to get comfortable.

“He used to get in a lot of trouble as a kid, hanging with the wrong crowd and getting into fights. But once our parents died, he straightened up and took over being the parent for Kalen and me.”

“You? But you’re older,” Brenton said.

“I’ve always been an asthmatic, and my mother fussed over me, so naturally Frankie thought he had to do the same thing. Most of it is my fault since I didn’t stop him, but that’s changed.”

The ground chuck mixing with the taco seasoning smelled amazing. Carson was also a good cook when he wasn’t whoring around.

  “What’s changed?” Brenton asked.

“I have,” Jonas answered. “If I can take care of Kalen, I can take care of myself. I’m a grown man, and people shouldn’t have to tell me to use my medication.”

“How is that working out for you?” Brenton asked. He had to know what he was up against.

“I set the alarm on my watch to remind me it’s time to take my medicine, and I now have the drugstore call when it’s time for a refill.”

“Are you type one or type two?”

“Type one,” Jonas answered. He finished up the dip.

Brenton got off the stool, walked over to the counter, and got the blue chips. They walked to the music room, and Jonas put the food on the counter. Brenton opened the small refrigerator.

  “Would you like a beer?”

“Yes,” Jonas answered. He walked around, admiring the plaques and trophies on the wall. “You guys have done it all.”

“Yes, but we haven’t won a Grammy in a long time. You’re nominated this year, aren’t you?”

Jonas nodded. “Yes. It surprised the hell out of us. Frankie and I never thought it could be possible since there are so many talented singers out there, but we’re both grateful. We want to win, but it’s an honor just to be nominated.”

“I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you,” Brenton said as he picked up a guitar and began strumming it.

Jonas sat down in a chair near him. “Is that a song you’re working on?”

Brenton nodded. He began singing the words.

  “A ballad?”

Brenton nodded. He started singing. He got to the end and stopped.

“It’s good,” Jonas said. “But incomplete.”

“Yeah, I’ve hit a brick wall with it and can’t seem to get passed it.”

  “I’ve been there,” Jonas said.

“How do you get past it?”

“Sometimes it’s easy to just go on to another song, like when you have writer’s block. Can you play it again for me?”

Brenton played the song while Jonas listened. Jonas stood up and walked over to the piano. “Do you mind if I play it?”

“No, please do,” Brenton said, watching him.

Jonas sat down and rolled back the cover, exposing the black and white keys. He began playing.

“That’s my song.” Brenton got up and walked over to the piano.

Jonas sang the first verse, surprising the hell out of Brenton. Jonas’s voice was still a little mellower than normal. Jonas continued playing and singing when he got to the end. They were words and music Brenton hadn’t written, but it fit beautifully. Jonas even came up with a chorus and then finished the song.

“That was just perfect, man,” Brenton said happily. It was like Jonas knew what he was trying to express. “How did you come up with just the right words and music after only hearing the song just a couple of times?”

“Gerard refers to it as Kerry Power. All I need to do is hear a song once or twice, and my brain remembers every detail of it, word for word, note for note. Frankie can do it, too.”

  “A photographic memory,” Brenton said.

“I suppose. The words and music just jump into my head.”

Brenton got up and went over to where he had sat and got his music tablet. “Do you think you can put the ending on this because I don’t want to mess it up?”

  “Sure,” Jonas said.

He took the tablet over to a table and began writing. Afterward, Jonas went back to the piano because Brenton wanted to hear the song again. Jonas began playing, and Brenton followed him. Their voices blended for the chorus.

“Writer’s block gone and the brick wall destroyed,” Jonas said when the song ended.

“Have you even collaborated with another singer before?”

“No,” Jonas answered. “You’re the first.”

“Then I’ll put you down as my collaborator so you can get credit for help writing it.”

“That won’t be necessary,” Jonas said. “I didn’t do anything special. You wrote a fantastic song.”

“Yes, but your contribution made it better. Do you mind if we sing it again.”

“Yes, but it will cost yo
u.”

  “What?” Brenton asked.

  Jonas pointed to his lips.

Brenton chuckled. “I think I can afford it.”

He leaned over and kissed Jonas. Jonas wrapped his arms around Brenton’s neck and returned the kiss, easing his tongue into Brenton’s mouth.

“Um,” Brenton said as his cock woke up. He ended the kiss. “We better stop this before we end up in my bed.”

Jonas removed his arms. “Yes, we wouldn’t want to do that.” He lowered his gaze. “You seem to have a problem.” He pointed to Brenton’s crotch.

Brenton shifted his dick in his briefs. “It will go away. You know how this works.”

“Yes, but normally it ends with me on my knees.”

Brenton chuckled. “Not this time. Music before pleasure.”

He walked away and turned on the recording equipment and set the mics in place.

Jonas returned to the piano and sat while Brenton went back to the guitar. After a couple of takes, Brenton played the recording back while he snacked and listened for mistakes and ways to make the song stronger. Two beers later, they stopped.

  “Are you hungry?” Jonas asked.

Brenton nodded. “But not for food.” He pointed to his crotch. “The erection didn’t go away.”

“I think I can take care of that.” He took Brenton’s hand and led him up the stairs.

“You better text Frankie and tell him that you’re going to be late.”

Brenton entered his bedroom first. Jonas followed him in, playing with his cell phone. A message came back, and Jonas chuckled.

“What did he say?” Brenton asked.

“He said, ‘See you in the morning.’”

Brenton chuckled. “You have the best brother in the world.”

  Chapter Fourteen

Jonas found some music on the stereo while he waited for Brenton to exit the bathroom. Jonas had showered first. They hadn’t made it to the showering-together phase yet. The station was having a Phil Collins marathon. The DJ put on “Something in the Air,” which was Jonas’s favorite.

Brenton came out of the bathroom wearing a robe. Jonas shoved him into a chair and began dancing around him.

  “What is this?” Brenton asked.

“Seduction,” Jonas answered as he continued dancing.

Jonas let his hair down and shook it free. Brenton’s eyes darkened. Jonas smiled. Got him. He rolled his hips. A lusty grin graced Brenton’s face.

“I’ve never had anyone dance for me before.”

“It’s a specialty,” Jonas said as he mounted the man for a lap dance. He moved over Brenton without touching him.

Brenton reached for him, but Jonas escaped his grasp.

“You have to be faster than that.”

He spun around, did a couple of cartwheels, and then did a split. Seconds later, he was back on his feet shaking his body for Brenton.

“Marvelous,” Brenton said. “What do you have on under that towel?”

“Skin,” Jonas said as he continued dancing. He removed the towel.

  Brenton growled. “Ooh, baby.”

The song ended. Brenton hopped out of the chair, scooped Jonas up, and carried him to the bed.

“You are full of surprises.” Brenton moved over him, kissing him passionately. They rolled against each other. “You are quite the little tease.”

Brenton moved, allowing Jonas a chance to breath. Jonas picked up Brenton’s belt that was on the bed. “Spank me.”

Brenton spun around quickly. “Hmm, you’re into a little kink.”

Jonas nodded, rolled over, and presented his buttocks to Brenton. Brenton grabbed the belt and tossed it aside.

“I don’t need that when I have this.” He showed Jonas his hand. “Have you been naughty?”

“Yes,” Jonas answered. “I’ve been downright beastly.”

Brenton rewarded him with a slap on one of his butt cheeks.

“Ooh,” Jonas said. “That hurts.” The second slap turned him into a quivering mess and woke up his cock.

Brenton must have noticed it, too. “That’s quite a big stick you’re packing, Mr. Kerry.”

Jonas turned over on his back and spread his legs. He wrapped his fingers around his dick. “Do you like it?”

Brenton nodded. “I like it very much.”

Jonas continued stoking Brenton until a little pre-cum appeared.

“I’m ready to have you in me.” Brenton dropped his robe.

  “Oh, hurry,” Jonas said.

Brenton got a rubber and some lube out of the drawer. “You’re too damn sexy for your own good,” he said as he crawled up on the bed. He handed the tube to Jonas. “Prepare yourself while I get into this thing.”

Jonas rolled over on his knees again, uncapped the tube, and squeezed some of the lube onto his fingers. He buried two of them into his ass and started working the gel in.

“That’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen,” Brenton said.

Jonas looked at the man’s cock. His eyes widened at the sight of the thick phallus. He trembled with desire. Brenton’s cell phone rang. He crawled off the bed, looked at the screen, and returned to the bed without answering. He moved over Jonas.

“I’m glad you didn’t answer it. I want all of your attention.”

“You have it,” Brenton said, pressing the head of his cock against Jonas’s opening. He thrust deep.

  “Oh, sweet mercy!”

The burning entry should have sworn him off men forever. Brenton’s cock was not only thick, but long, too. It pierced Jonas to the core.

  “Are you okay?” Brenton asked.

“Uh-huh,” Jonas said weakly. “Don’t stop.” No guy has ever made him feel so full, not even Sean. Brenton went back to making love to him. Jonas joined him, rocking back and forth on his knees.

“You have the warmest hole in the world,” Brenton said as he continued to fuck Jonas.

“Thanks, I think.” They kept it up for a long time. “I think I’m about to come,” Jonas finally said.

Brenton pulled out and rolled Jonas over to his back. He moved between Jonas’s legs. “You think.” He lifted Jonas’s hips. “Let me make sure that you do.” He entered with a powerful thrust.

Jonas came, calling out Brenton’s name. “Brenton! Oh, God! Oh!”

“Can’t stop now,” Brenton said, pumping his cock in and out of Jonas’s ass. “I’m coming, too. Ah!”

Jonas’s heartbeat roared in his chest as his dick continued spewing cum. He felt the warmth of Brenton’s emission deep inside of him. The man was buried up to his balls.

“Oh, my God, that was so…” Brenton couldn’t continue the sentence.

  “Yes, I know,” Jonas agreed.

Even flaccid, Brenton’s cock still felt huge.

Brenton slid out slowly, slipped the condom off his shaft, and disposed of it into the waste can. He gathered Jonas into his arms and pulled him into to a spooning position at the top of the bed.

“This is my favorite part of sex.”

  Jonas sighed contently. “Mine, too.”

  * * * *

Brenton got awakened about two in the morning by the sound of someone knocking on the door loudly and ringing the bell. He eased into his pants, a T-shirt, and his slippers, leaving Jonas curled up in a little ball, still sleeping. He walked down the stairs and threw open the door. He found Carson on the other side.

  “What are you doing here?”

“You didn’t answer your phone,” Carson said.

Brenton had heard the phone ringing a couple of times during the night and had ignored it. “I was asleep.”

“You don’t sleep that soundly,” Carson said, pushing his way into the house.

Brenton smelled the alcohol as Carson passed him. “What’s so important that you have to come here so early in the morning?”

“Like I said, you didn’t answer your phone.”

The sound of the upstairs shower echoed through the house loud enough for bo
th of them to hear.

  “You have company?”

“Yes,” Brenton answered as he followed Carson into the living room. “Now, will you please leave?”

“No way,” Carson said. He flopped down on the sofa. “I’m not leaving until I find out who it is. I knew something was up. We very seldom get to see you lately. You don’t hang out with us anymore, and you left Tory’s meeting in a hurry yesterday morning.”

“My personal life does not concern you,” Brenton said.

“But we’re in love,” Carson said.

“You’re drunk. You and I have been over for a long time, remember? You cheated on me with that groupie and several other guys.”

“How many times do I have to apologize, Brenton? I told you I’d never cheat on you again.”

“You tell me that all the time, but then you do it again,” Brenton said. “I’ve found someone else who I care about very much. Don’t mess this up for me.”

“Who could you have found so quickly? We just got back into town. You and I are perfect for each other. Our bodies click, and we make beautiful music together.”

Sometimes talking to Carson was like talking to a brick wall. “Our bodies haven’t clicked in a long time,” Brenton reminded him. “I’ve moved on, and you should do the same. And why did you drive over here in this state? You could have killed someone, or yourself.”

“Like you care,” Carson said. “I’m not that drunk.” He paused, hopped up, and headed toward the stairs. “Who is in your shower?”

Brenton moved quickly to block the way. “It’s none of your business.”

Carson laughed and headed back for the sofa. “I bet I know. Don’t think I didn’t notice you sniffing around that pop princess, Jonas Kerry. He’s a kid, Brenton. You need a man to satisfy you.”

Brenton didn’t think so. Jonas’s lovemaking had rendered him unconscious earlier. Even Carson couldn’t do that. If he didn’t get Carson out of his house soon, Jonas’s secret would be exposed.

“You have this all wrong. It’s no one you know.” He prayed that Jonas would stay upstairs and not come down.

Carson gave up and headed for the door. “Suit yourself, but if Tory finds out that you’re fucking with his golden child, you’re going to be in a world of trouble.”
