“Dear gods,” I sighed as I flopped down onto the bench next to Jonas.
“I want one,” Mira demanded from behind me.
“I’m not sure you can handle this,” I teased.
“It’s a piece of fruit,” she scoffed, “of course I can handle it.”
“It might be too much for you,” I snickered as I closed up my bag, stood up, and moved away from her. “I don’t think we should risk it.”
“Give me a damn apple, Ben!”
“Come get it if you want it,” I dared.
I smirked and watched as she moved slowly around the table toward where I was. She seemed to be holding a lot of energy for some reason, and I was about to bring it out. Taunting her may not have been my most brilliant idea, but it was sure to be a lot of fun.
“Just give me an apple, Ben,” Mira growled and narrowed her golden eyes.
“I don’t know--” I started to say before the warrior came flying at me and nearly tackled me to the ground.
I laughed and picked her up, and then I wrestled her to the ground and pinned her arms above her.
“Say pretty please,” I teased as I pressed my body down against hers, “and maybe I will give you one.”
“You’re an ass,” Mira pouted and struggled beneath me. “Let me go.”
“Not until you say the magic words.”
“What magic words?” she asked.
“Ben, Draco Rex extraordinaire, you are the greatest thing since sliced bread, and I worship the ground you walk on.”
“I don’t even know what most of that means, but I’m already in love with you!” she half growled-half giggled.
“You can say it. If you do, I will let you up and give you two apples.”
“Never! Get off me!”
I grabbed both of her wrists with one of my hands, and then I reached out and firmly pinched one of her nipples with the other. The look of shock that turned to arousal was well worth it, so I did it again.
Mira bucked underneath me in a half-assed attempt to get me off her, so I just ground my raging hard-on into her and locked her down again with my own hips. Still holding onto her wrists, I leaned down and nipped at the hard nipple poking through her shirt. She tried to hide the moan that escaped her mouth, but I knew by the way she responded that she wasn’t interested in me moving anymore.
I moved so my cock was right over her clit, and then I started lightly thrusting against it. Her eyes went dark with lust, and I felt a grin spread across my face.
“Want me to let you go?” I growled right against her ear. “I will if you tell me to.”
Mira kept silent, since she didn’t want to give in and didn’t want me to move. So, I did the only thing that made sense. I yanked her shirt up with my teeth, and took her rock-hard nipple into my mouth.
Gods, I was so glad there was no such thing as bras in this world.
I sucked long and hard until her breath was hot and heavy as she panted against my neck. Then I let go and gave her a second to catch her breath before I latched onto her other nipple and did the same thing. Her hips impulsively tried to rise up to meet mine, but I still had her locked down.
She had no idea how crazy I was making myself, though.
I popped off her and looked around to see Jonas had conveniently found something else to do, but Marella was still napping over next to Nixie, so I made up my mind then and there and scooped Mira up, threw her over my shoulder, and stormed off into the nearby woods.
I set her down when I figured we were out of earshot of the others and looked her deep in the eyes.
“I will be gentle if you need me to be,” I groaned, “but I don’t want to be. I want to take you hard and fast right here on the ground.”
“Don’t be gentle,” she begged. “I want all you are offering.”
“Are you fertile right now?” I asked when I remembered my promise to her.
“No.”
“I will still take precautions, but that’s good to know,” I said as I almost ripped her pants off in an effort to get them down fast enough. She was dripping wet already, so I placed her hands-on a nearby tree, pulled her hips out to meet mine, and pushed my dick into her as deep as I thought she could take.
“Fuck!” Mira yelled, but she didn’t ask me to stop. She actually pushed her hips back to meet mine.
I grabbed her hips to hold her steady as I rammed my cock in and out of her pussy faster and harder until I was jackhammering the gorgeous warrior.
“Ohhh, Ben!” Her small screams crescendoed each time I went balls deep into her, and I relished the sound of our most intimate places slapping together.
I was getting so close to cumming I knew I had to push her over the edge. So, with one thumb, I reached around her body and started to rub at her clit.
“Do you like that?” I growled as her breath immediately picked up its pace.
“Yessss,” she gasped and bucked beneath me. “I’mmmm … I’mmmm … ”
She was close, so I licked my other thumb, gently massaged the outside of her asshole, and applied the perfect amount of pressure to push her over the edge. A moment later, her pussy started to clamp down around me.
“Oh, gods, Ben!” Mira cried out as her orgasm washed over her.
I thrust deep into while her tunnel spasmed, but the moment only lasted a few precious seconds. Her body was urging mine to fill her with seed, so I regretfully pulled out of her and then let my seed spray all over her delicious ass.
Then I reached up and pulled her against me, and I caressed her neck, cheeks, and shoulders with gentle, loving kisses before I turned her around to hold her tight against me.
Mira leaned against me for several minutes to catch her breath before she leaned back with a shit eating grin.
“Now, can I have an apple?”
“Babe,” I snickered, “you can have every goddamn apple on this island, and I will pick them for you.”
We both laughed as we composed ourselves and made our way back to the cave. Marella was still napping, and Jonas was still off doing whatever he had found to do.
“It’s a few hours before dinner,” I told Mira as I tossed her an apple from my bag. “Why don’t we go ahead and climb to the top of the mountain?”
“I am good with that,” she said as she took a bite out of the apple, and I watched her eyes roll back inside her head at the sheer pleasure of it. “Grab a couple more of those.”
“As you wish,” I chuckled and pulled two more out of the bag before I placed it inside the cave and returned with the map. Then I handed Mira one of the walking sticks that Jonas had provided, and we headed off to climb to the top of the mountain.
It was a beautiful climb, even if it was uneventful, and we saw more of the mountain rams and buffa-deer as we made our way to the top. The trees started growing sparse, and the ground got rockier under our feet, which let me know we had to be close.
Sure enough, about fifteen minutes later, we had reached the top.
“My gods, it’s beautiful,” I sighed as I took it all in.
I felt like I was on top of the world when I stood on the top of the mountain, and the air was hot and humid because we were so close to the sun. The view was awesome, though, and I could turn a full three hundred and sixty degrees and get a full look of the island.
And with my enhanced dragon-vision … it was breathtaking.
There were huge, emerald green leaves from trees and plants that covered nearly the entire island like a carpet of grass. Bright blue flowers, the size of small cars, peeked out sporadically around the island, and I could see brilliant purple vines that twisted and turned to cover many of the plants at the heart of the jungle. Colors were everywhere, in the form of bright birds and saturated plants with flowers and leaves I’d never even seen before. It seemed like someone had taken the craziest pieces from Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, mixed them in with some plants that came straight out of Avatar, threw in a little bit of tropical island beauty, and had transpl
anted that right below me, so I could stare at it the way I did right now.
I heard the roar of a gryphon, and watched one of the majestic creatures burst from within the thicket of plants and soared up into the sky. It then did a flip to disturb a flock of polka dotted purple and orange birds that sat in one of the palm trees in the center of the jungle.
As the orange birds squawked and protested the interruption to their peace, the gryphon quickly snatched one up in its impossibly strong jaws, chewed once, and swallowed the whole thing down.
Almost like it knew I watched from my perch on top of the world, the gryphon looked right at me with two shiny, golden eyes, shook its mane, and disappeared back down into the brilliantly colored flora of the jungle.
“Totally awesome,” I gasped.
This was nature on another level, and I wasn’t sure I’d ever get used to it.
I looked to the southeast and could see little specks of huts and the palace with my dragon vision, and that put a smile on my face. Then I pulled out the map to compare it to what I was seeing. I knew where we were and centered the map so I could make out the islands around us.
“Just as I thought,” I said out loud and pointed at the island off the southwest coast of ours. “That island there is the closest one to sail to, maybe within a day. From here, it looks like it has taller and more substantial trees than our jungle, doesn’t it?”
“I think you are right,” Mira agreed as she studied the neighboring island. “Definitely might be a better option for more serious boat making.”
“That’s what I’m hoping for.” I grinned. “So, it makes the most sense to sail there first.”
“I agree,” she replied with a nod, “the sooner the better.”
We spent a few more hours discussing the other islands and all the possibilities, and we simply took in the sights and ate the apples we’d brought along. We were just discussing heading back down when George spoke to both of us through our mental connection.
Hurry, dear ones, he said in an excited tone. These winged beasts you call gryphons have brought us gifts!
“What the fuck?” I asked. “What kind of gifts?”
Gifts from Oshun, the dragon said simply. Hurry now!
I looked at Mira, and we took off running.
After all, you never want to keep a goddess waiting.
Chapter Thirteen
Mira and I raced back down the mountain and to the little encampment outside of the cave, where we were instantly greeted by the sound of Marella’s laugh and the sight of the gryphons as they pawed at the ground.
There were three of the bird creatures, and just as George had promised, they’d brought gifts for us all.
Six huge pieces of fruit that resembled dragon fruit were scattered on the ground in front of the gryphons, only these melons were about four times the size of any dragon fruit I’d ever seen. These fruits weren’t pink or yellow, either, but instead a vibrant shade of blue that almost seemed unnatural for something meant to be edible.
There you are! Nixie exclaimed in my head. We’ve been waiting for you to arrive before we opened up these delectable gifts from Oshun!
Suddenly, the gryphon in front stepped forward, bowed his head in my direction, and looked up at me with wondrous golden eyes.
“Ummmm … ” I was a little unsure of what to do, but I bowed back so I wouldn’t offend the giant animal.
After a long moment, the gryphon straightened, shook his feathers, and let out a large cry that seemed to signal approval.
“Daddy, they say these gifts are to thank you for the good things you’ll do,” Marella announced as she waddled up next to me.
“Oh, really?” I laughed in disbelief and bent down to pick up my little girl, but she only looked at me with large, round eyes, as if she spoke to wild animals every day of her life.
Hell, maybe she did. I’d very quickly learned I knew nothing about the magic on this island, and even less about whatever magic my daughter possessed.
“Well, tell them we appreciate the gifts,” I told her, since part of me wanted these giant creatures to understand that I really did appreciate the goddess’ gesture.
“Otay!” Marella nodded, and then she turned back to look at the gryphons with the most intense, concentrated gaze I’d ever seen on her little face.
Somehow, they must have communicated, because the lead gryphon let out one last cry before all three of them took off into the air.
“Okay, we eat now,” Marella announced as she wriggled to get out of my arms and waddled toward the fruit.
Mira and I shared a confused but awe-filled glance, while George and Jonas didn’t seem the least bit surprised by this strange turn of events.
The child is special, just like her father, George mused inside my head.
It was all I could do to give my dragon companion a nod in response, and then Jonas distracted me as he handed me half of a fruit.
I stared down at the strange but delicious looking fruit. The hard peel was only blue on the outside, and it turned to a soft white on the inside. The flesh of the fruit, though, was a bright, lime green that reminded me of key lime pie.
I took note of both George and Jonas, who had delved into their halves of the fruit with vigor, and they chomped away on the soft green flesh and discarded the blue outside.
So, I brought the fruit up to my mouth, sunk my teeth in, and took an enormous bite.
“Oh, mannnn,” I groaned as my eyes rolled back inside my head.
Heaven, that was what filled my mouth. The fruit was soft and delicious, and it fizzled on my tongue almost like pop rocks. It tasted the way flowers smelled, sweet, soft, and like something I could eat for days straight and never get bored of.
Gifts from the gods indeed. No normal plant could have ever made such a delectable fruit. If I was in Greece, I would have thought the fruit came straight from Mount Olympus itself.
“Oh, my gods, this is amazing!” Mira exclaimed beside me. She appeared to be having the same near orgasmic experience I was, with her head thrown back and her eyes screwed shut in pleasure.
I watched the perfect muscles in her neck work as she chewed and swallowed, and I was nearly overcome by my desire to have my way with her for the second time today.
My daughter was feet away as she enjoyed her own fruit, though, and we all had other things to concentrate on. So, I stored the thought away for another time.
We all continued to enjoy our snack, but a few minutes later, a large cracking sound suddenly filled the air, like a wall had just been split straight down the middle.
Only, there were no walls anywhere near us.
“What the hell was that?” I asked at the same time that Nixie let out an excited cry.
They’re coming! the pink dragon exclaimed. Then she sprang up and away from her eggs to stare down at them with a flush of excitement.
“The babies are coming?” Mira gasped. Tears immediately sprung into her eyes, and I knew watching the water dragons be born would be an intensely spiritual experience for her.
Yes! George replied, and he stood with Nixie to stare down at the eggs as another cracking sound filled the air.
Jonas and Marella shifted to stand next to Mira and me, and all six of us watched while hairline cracks began to appear in the shells of the eggs.
The copper egg seemed like it would be the one to hatch first. It shook and shuddered, and then a huge crack, twice the size of any cracks in the purple egg, appeared across the penny colored shell.
After another moment, a piece of shell about two inches wide finally broke off and fell into the debris Nixie had packed together as a makeshift nest.
“This is unbelievable,” I muttered.
In all honesty, every day of my life nowadays felt unbelievable, but watching dragons being born took things to a whole other level.
The entire process took about ten minutes, but by the end of it, two new baby water dragons had appeared. One was the size of a teacup chihuahua a
nd a bit on the thinner side, with plum colored scales and bright eyes the color of a thrilling sunset on a warm summer day.
The other dragon stood about an inch or so taller, and it had shiny copper scales that glimmered with golden specks and bright blue eyes the color of a clear sky over the open ocean.
“Nixie, they’re beautiful,” I breathed as I watched the two baby dragons blink up at us.
They are, George replied with a proud snort. One boy and one girl.
He indicated the smaller, purple dragon as the girl, and the copper one as the boy.
As soon as the babies had gotten their bearings, they both stood and managed to take a few wobbly steps. Next thing I knew, they both bent down and started to eat the remainder of their shells.
“Uh, are they supposed to do that?” I asked with a nervous laugh, but no one else seemed bothered by this strange turn of events.
Dragon shells hold many nutrients, dear one, George explained to me. Babies instinctively eat them so they do not starve in the early stages of their lives. It’s the only reason I was able to survive for so long.
“Alright,” I muttered with a shrug.
There was always something new to learn.
We all watched as George and Nixie cared for their newborn children for the rest of the day. The baby dragons wanted to sniff and bite at everything. They snuffled along the dirt, changed course with every new smell they discovered, kicked around rocks and branches, played with Marella, and knocked into Mira and me more times than I could count.
Jonas managed to stay above the fray for the most part, since he was perched in the mouth of the cave to observe the shenanigans of the young dragons.
The babies had a shimmery slick coating around each of their scales that dropped off over the course of the next day, the way a snake sheds its skin with the changing seasons. When the little boy dropped the last coating from his scales, Nixie turned to me with wide, serious eyes.
