Vergus was using his chains as whips to hit from afar. His attacks made cuts in the body. The cuts were deep too.

  "Stand back!" I shouted.

Everyone jumped backwards. I did "Rapid Fire" with both blades. My control of the left hand was not as good as it was long ago but it was still able to deal a good amount of damage.

"Holy" said Vergus quietly. I was able to hear him.

The creature was completely shattered to pieces. It had a glowing part in its chest. I guessed that it was the source of its life.

"Good job!" said Sora as she jumped at me for a hug.

"You did good too" I complimented.

I looked at Vergus. His face seemed a bit sad. I was sure that he was thinking about Mia and that she was not there to compliment him or just be with him.

"You too" I said looking into his eyes. He seemed he was starting to tear up. I gave him a smile. He smiled back.

"Let's go back in the castle. And Vergus, I'll talk to the king about pardoning you. Let's have a talk first" I said as I held Sora's hand and walked into the castle door. Vergus followed from behind.

  CLO 9: A Talk

Inside the castle, we were walking towards the the throne room. We were walking in the folly as we slowly approached the door that had a few hallways leading to the throne room.

"You want Mia's attention again, right?" I asked as we walked through the door and entered a hallway.

"I want her to forgive me. I want her to see me as a good guy again. I want to be with her again..." Vergus replied as he clenched his fists.

I knew that he was determined to return to Mia. He really seemed like he was serious about his feelings and that he was not ready to give up anytime soon. I felt like I could trust him enough.

"Why do you trust me? I tried to kill you so many times last year... And I regret that" said Vergus in a regretful tone.

"I could see the true you through your eyes. I think that you've been through a lot too. Mia did say that you were a great friend when you were kids"

I felt like his true self was revealed in his eyes. The eyes that were full of regret and despair. I knew that he was desperate to own Mia's heart too. He just was not thinking in the right way.

He seemed touched that someone trusts him. His eyes were a bit wet, which were signs of tears that were about to form.

"Don't break the trust between you two" said Sora.

"Thank you... I thought that I can't be trusted nor liked anymore. The person I cared for most was Mia, and I want her really badly. I never thought of being forgiven..." said Vergus.

I did not say that I forgave him but I felt like I did in my heart. I did not know why I felt this way.

"Let's fight as allies from now on" I said.

  "Yes... Thank you!"

"Now, let's see about the king pardoning you" I said as I looked forward.

"That's nice to hear" said Sora.

We approached the throne room door. The guards opened the door, we walked in with Vergus by our side. The king who was sitting on his throne sat up and walked down the steps.

"Now what do we have here? Isn't he the dungeon dweller we caught last year" said the king stroking his mustache.

"Yes, we would want to ask for dad to pardon him" said Sora.

  "Pardon him? Why?"

"He has changed. He regretted his wrong doings. He did them because he was overly desperate to win Mia's heart" I said.

"He even helped us in the fight just now" said Sora.

"Fight?! What fight?" the king asked with a shocked expression.

"The castle was attacked by a crystal like being. Cel and I fought it along with this guy" said Sora.

"We need to keep our guard up..." said the king was he stroked his mustache again with his eyes closed. "The kingdom might be in trouble too" he added.

When I thought about trouble in the kingdom at this point of time, I was worried about our wedding. The wedding that was going to take place the next month, will it be cancelled?

I was anxious about that. I felt a little uneasy at heart when I think that Sora and I would not get together as soon as we wanted.

"Ok, then. I'll pardon you on one condition. You must promise to stay on our side" said the king with one finger in the air.

I was a little bit happy about that but was still worried about the wedding. I was also worried about the kingdom. I also did not want to lose anyone, though I know that I was literally impossible to protect every person in all of the known worlds, which were Cielo, Ayrus and Galaya. The worlds might be at risk with Kohaya around.

I had a goal at that moment, I need to stop Kohaya from causing trouble to the worlds. But I needed to know his location first, which was a mystery.

"You need to get some new clothes. Cel! Ugh, Cel?"

"Oh! Ugh, yea?" I said in quite a surprised manner due to being disturbed when I was lost in my sea of thought. Sora seemed concerned.

"Could you get some new clothes for him?" Sora said as she was pointing at Vergus.

  "Yea, sure!" I replied.

She approached my right side. She seemed like she was about to whisper something.

"Let's talk in the garden soon" whispered Sora.

"Bye! I'll see you soon!" said Sora as she waved goodbye.

I waved back and looked at Vergus. I was thinking of what Sora wanted to talk about, what would happen to the kingdom and about Vergus's situation.

  CLO 10: Sudden Events

I walked to my room along with Vergus. I wanted to give an outfit that I never wear. It was a blue and white colored tunic. The color was mostly blue though. He needed a sword too, I decided to order one from the blacksmith in town.

Vergus and I entered the room that belonged to me. The curtains made a crack when it flapped along with the wind coming from the open window. It would be a quiet room without it. "Come here" I said as I walked towards the closet that was placed northeast of my bed. It had a white colored door.

Vergus closed the door, it made a slight sound. The closet was opened, I scavenged the closet and took out the tunic and a cream like colored pants. There was a belt with a rose emblem on it too.

I got them from a man who was about to throw it into the filthy garbage. I thought that it looked cool and asked for his permission to take them. I brought them home but never wore them, it was about time to give it to someone who would wear it.

"Are you sure about giving this to me?" asked Vergus, "Of course. I never wore it anyway" I replied. "Oh, thank you" he thanked looking down at the tunic and pants that were in his hands, "Yea" I replied along with a nod.

He went to change into it. He went inside my bathroom changing to the tunic. I was thinking about going to talk with Sora soon. I wanted to know what she wanted to talk about. I kind of expected what she was about to talk about.

I heard the creaking of my bathroom door. I looked up and saw Vergus. The tunic and pants fitted perfectly. The color also mixes well with his light brown hair. His old clothes were held in his hands.

"Looks good" I commented with a smile on my face. "Thank you for the comment and the dress" said Vergus while he looked down at the floor. "No problem" I said.

We left the room. When I closed the door, I said "I'm going to meet up with Sora", "Ok. Bye, Cel..." Vergus said as he walked off down the hallway. I watched as he slowly walked away. Then, I went off to the castle garden.

At the garden, the scent of roses and many other flowers were present. Butterflies and some bees were flying around. The evening sun was giving a warm sunlight upon this world. I walked around the garden, I eventually reached the area near the bench.

On the bench, was a beauty that was sniffing a flower. She was glowing in my eyes. She looked at me and gave a sweet smile with her beautiful eyes closed. I smiled back, I was happy to see her. I went and sat next to her.

"How long have you been waiting?" I asked.

"Not too long. You didn't have to rush" she replied.

  "I didn't rea
lly rush though"

"You're worried about our wedding, right?"

"... Yea, our wedding is next month... I'm just worried that it will be postponed"

Sora grabbed hold of my hand. I could feel the warmth of her hands. Her slender fingers were delicate to the touch. Her nails were not colored, they were short too. Her pale skin contrasted my tanned skin.

"Don't worry. Everything should be all right before our special day" she assured.

I knew that she was trying to make me feel secured. She always made me feel good and I love that. She's a gentle and loving person most of the time, and a warrior on the battlefield. She's an amazing person, I love her that way.

"Thank you... Let's try our best to end this case!" I said.

"Yea!" Sora replied with her eyes closed and her head tilted to her left. She gave another sweet smile that I could not get enough of.

We shared a light kiss. Her soft and moist lips were a perfect match with her personality and beauty.

The sun was setting, it has been a long day for us. Another day would arrive after a good night sleep. We got up and decided it was time to go.

I gazed at the setting sun. The sky was a red like color. Darkness of the night would devour the light of day soon. We were walking out of the garden holding hands.

Inside the castle, a guard approached us. He seemed to have something to say to us. We stopped to hear what he had to say.

"Your Highness, Sir Alt. You two are summoned to the throne room"

  CLO 11: Crystal Attack

"Your Highness, Sir Alt. You two are summoned to the throne room"

We were summoned to the throne room. When I heard those words being spit out, I started to have a bad feeling in my heart. My brain was ready to accept anything the king had to say. I had a idea that it could be some news, either bad or good. It could also be a mission, or maybe both. That is what it usually was.

The guard led the way to the throne room. We would sometimes walk faster than him. The tapping of the shoes were present, it was a clear sound. The torches of the hallway passed by us one by one as we approach the throne room.

The grand door decorated with elegance was opened. Inside the grand and luxurious room, the king awaits on his throne. He was stroking his facial hair, mainly his mustache. I saw Vergus leaning on the wall.

"Sora, Cel. I have some news for you two" said the king.

  "What is it?" I asked.

"Ayrus's city, Cylius has been facing attacks from some crystal like beings. Most likely Kohaya's work"

Vergus seemed shocked. His eyes were wide open, his mouth was open slightly. I started to wonder about the reason for his shock. "Wait a second, isn't Cylius the city where Mia lives?! Vergus must be worried about Mia. I think Kohaya knows about Mia's connection to his failure last year. He wants revenge!" I thought.

I started to remember what happened during my first year as a knight, the time I first went to Ayrus to save Sora. I remembered the pain, the worry and the sadness.

"We have to go there" I said.

"Yea, we have to take action. We might get some information about Kohaya too" said Sora.

"Alright then, you may go tomorrow" said the king.

After the meeting, we were about to go to bed. "Hey, Cel" said a male voice from behind. I knew it was Vergus, I was also expecting for him to talk about Mia. "Hi" I said as Sora and I turned around. He seemed to be gloomy and worried.

"It's about Mia, right?" I asked.

"Yea... I'm worried about her... Will she be alright?" Vergus asked.

"We'll know soon. Follow us there! Let's get your sword tomorrow" I said.

"I hope that she is fine. Let's just hope for the best" said Sora.

"Thank you, Sora and Cel" said Vergus looking down at the ground.

I knew his pain. Though it might be different in the way it felt and the way it was like. But I knew the pain of not being with someone you love. Basically, it was more or less the same. The similarities and differences are something that could be thought about and you may or may not get the same thing.

Vergus eventually decided to leave. He seemed more calm but he still had a sign of a little fear. He also seemed worried but it was not really that noticeable.

We continued our walk. We were heading towards Sora's room. The light that was reflected from the moon was shining through the castle's windows. The magical light gave a dreamy ambience to the hallways and the rooms.

Sora was holding my hand, her smooth and soft skin could be felt in my hand. Her hand was also warm, it makes me feel secure during unpeaceful situations. She was not there when I first went to Ayrus. It was a feeling that I did not want to face ever again though I know that I might face it sometimes.

Though I have to stay strong if it ever happens. I would have to take action to return to the life I wanted. I would protect the ones I love no matter what.

"You're thinking about our situation now, right?" Sora asked as she looked at me.

"Yea, about Ayrus and the past. And maybe about the future too" I said.

"Don't worry. Everything would be alright in the end"

  "Yea, thank you"

We eventually arrived at her room. "Good night" I said. I knew what I would hear due to hearing it for so long. For 5 years to be precise about the length of time. "Sweet dreams!" Sora said with a cheerful voice. I knew that she would say that, it was and always will be the same.

I went back to my room. I wore a white shirt and pants. I jumped in my cozy and soft bed. "Stop worrying, Cel..." I thought as I started to slowly drift to sleep and experience the sweet dream that Sora wished.

  CLO 12: Vergus's Sword

  "Hyaaa!!!"

  "Haaaaaaa!!!"

Shouted a voice. The shout could be heard from a few meters away. That shout was coming from the field. It was from a person that most people would expect from. A male who was the princess's personal knight, me.

I, Cel Alt, was practicing my dual wielding. I was rusty from not dual wielding for a few years. Though I did do it once or twice a year just for fun.

I was swinging my swords, one after another. I kept speeding up my swinging speed. My swinging looked like an out of control windmill when the wind was blowing at maximum speed.

Slashing, thrusting, spinning and many other moves. I was doing all of them in one flow, changing from one to the other. I was swinging at almost the same speed at the "Rapid Fire" skill.

"Rapid Fire" was a skill that I learnt many years ago. It was a physical skill, a skill that needed the strength of your physical body instead of using magic like the "Heat Blast" skill.

There were also rare skills that only certain people know. Most of them were an original skill. "Infinity", "Light vs Dark" and "Mother's Requiem" were one of those original skills.

Some skills were not for swords but for wings. Some examples of them are "Sonic Boom", "Speedster" and "Speed Demon". There are also ones that were of both like the "Sleek" skill.

I was thrusting really quickly. It would have caused a lot of stab wounds if I was attacking an enemy.

  "Oh!" I said.

Oblivion slipped out of my hand. My left hand still needed some training in order to get used to swinging this fast. I usually used my right hand which was used to holding a sword.

"Tss" went the sword as it disappeared in a burst of light.

The swords that slip out or break would disappear, they could be respawned like activating a sword normally.

"Hey, Cel! I searched the whole castle for you!" said someone nearby.

It was Vergus, he was walking towards me. I deactivated my sword, Crystallite and faced his way.

"Hey, I was just practicing. Oh, before I forget, let's go and fetch your sword" I said.

"Oh, ok. I just came here to talk about tonight"

"We'll talk on the way" I said as I started walking, Vergus followed me and said "Ok" to me.

Vergus would be using a normal sword. The crystal swords were still not rele
ased and I could not ask for the TRC to make one for him.

As we were chatting on the way to the blacksmith's place, I suddenly thought of something. I was not sure whether I should ask or not. I was thinking about it so much that I did not hear what Vergus said.

"Vergus, what about your parents...?" I asked. I eventually asked it.
