Tame Me: A Filthy Billionaire Romance

Madeline thought that there could be nothing sweeter to do with her warrior man. The sunset was more than just an event in the day to her. They were married in the light of one; it symbolized many things for them both and he was her Sunset Warrior, after all. This would be the perfect ending to a most perfect day.
Sitting in the sand, they watched the waves roll in. “I never thought the city could be like this!” Dev chuckled as he pulled her closer to his chest.
She sighed and leaned back against him. “Yeah, and I never stopped to enjoy my own backyard before.”
They both sat quietly as the sun dropped into the ocean.
“The sunset, it looks…” Dev’s voice faded away.
She fell onto her back to the sand and turned over with a gasp. The imprint of his body was there on the sand, but no Dev.
“No!” Tears fell down her cheeks as she looked all around. The sun just blipped below the horizon with a neon pink splash. She stood up and balled her hands into fists. “The fucking sunset again?” Madeline shouted, as the waves roared in and drowned out her words.
CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
TAYLOR
Los Angeles. California
Taylor arrived at the office and went straight to Vince’s door.
“Hey there, buddy!” Vince called out from behind his desk.
Taylor shut the door behind him with a loud slam.
“What the hell?” He stood up.
Taylor walked over to the desk. “Sit down!”
At the order, he blinked his eyes and sat.
“So, you and I were friends?” Taylor began to pace back and forth.
His partner looked puzzled. “Were?”
“The truth is…that I was in a coma and I lost all of my memory. I want you to tell me everything.”
“Everything?” Vince drew his head back.
Determined to get answers to the puzzle that had been Taylor Scott, he stopped pacing. “I want all of it. What I was like, what I aimed for, what drove me…the bare-faced, fucking truth and no candy coating!”
Vince laughed outright.
Taylor stared at him. “I mean it and there will be no repercussions for you, unless...”
“Unless what?” Vince did look serious now.
“You lie or hold something back.”
“And, you come to me for this?” He calmly folded his hands together on the desk.
“You are supposed to be my partner and friend, right?”
He shook his head. “If there was such a thing as your friend.”
Taylor sat in the leather chair in front of the desk. “You see? That’s what I want to know. The truth as you knew it.”
“You were insatiable, driven. And in some areas?” He sat forward with a hard glint in his light eyes. “Obsessed.”
“About what?” Taylor stared at his face.
“Not what.” His friend shook his head. “Who.”
Taylor looked away. “Madeline Sayers.”
He nodded. “Completely overboard, my friend!”
Taylor winced a little. “What was I doing?”
His partner sighed and stood up. “Every approach in the fucking book, and once, during a so-called desperate moment of your scheme, you said to me, ‘She will make a great trophy wife and as a partner we could conquer the free fucking world!’ ”
“It was that bad?”
Vince nodded. “I’m not saying that you were in love with her. I don’t think you have that emotion in you.”
Taylor put a hand through his dark hair in frustration.
“You would never tell me anything personal, of personal feelings, that is.” He raised a brow. “You had none.”
“Why would you be friends with such a man?”
“Many bountiful reasons, buddy.” Vince smiled. “You were King Midas and had the golden touch. I’ve never seen anyone acquire so much money and power in so little time!”
“That guy is gone now.” Taylor stared down at the carpet.
“I sure as fuck hope not!” Vince leaned his hands on the desk.
Taylor’s head flew up at the statement.
“You were magic, like you were Merlin and decided to drop into Wall Street to play!” Vince explained. “Every deal made like cake, every fucking time!”
Taylor released a breath and shook his head.
“And the women?” His partner laughed. “The babes you always rejected and looked away from?” He winked. “I had a lot of consoling to do for many bereft females during those long, sad nights.”
There was a light knock on the door.
“Come in!” Vince called out distractedly.
Taylor glanced over at the door with disinterest. He turned his focus back to Vince’s face. He caught Vince’s shocked expression while he seemed to be holding onto his desk with a tight white knuckled grip. Taylor turned around to face the door.
KAMI
Skywalk Lodge, Grand Canyon, Arizona
The Tribal council sat at the round table and stared at her.
Kami stood at the front of the bowed meeting table with her head lowered.
“We don’t understand, Kamikowa,” the chief spoke in low tones.
Feeling somewhat ashamed, she seemed to wince with his words.
“You were instructed by our leader.”
She held still as she waited for her permission to speak.
“What do you have to say?” he spoke louder.
“I am sorry. He had the help from many sources and...” Her voice faded away. It was jealousy. Her mind shouted. Blind jealousy!
“You shall return and you will stay with him until…” he paused.
Keeping her expression blank, Kami drew her eyes up.
“Until, he sends you back,” the chief finished.
She lowered her head.
“Council is dismissed.”
Kami headed for her room. She was furious, but she had never rebelled before and was not about to start. I just don’t fit in there in LA! I have to do something to make this easier to deal with. Do something to make him easier to deal with? Look at the way those women looked. Kelly and Victoria? They were polished and elegant, sophisticated and beautiful! Me? I’m just a plain ole Indian maiden from the sticks!
With total disgust at the entire uncomfortable situation, she shook her head. He is just a duty for the tribe and that’s all! She stopped at her door. Okay, I know. I will go shopping on that famous Rodeo Drive first. Then, I will get one of those glamorous makeovers. Determination grew inside of her. “I will show them just how exotic I can be!”
You mean show him, don’t you? She rolled her eyes at the inner voice that taunted her and went into her room.
The helicopter took her to the airport in Los Angeles. She then went to her hotel room that had been booked before.
Now she stood at the door to Taylor’s office. She wore a deep-sapphire blue dress. Her hair was no longer in braids as it fell softly over her shoulders and was a glowing black against her tan skin. Her nails and high heels matched her dress. She’d spent the entire day yesterday in the capable hands of the best places in Beverly Hills.
And this morning, she had her makeup done, which was a monumental thing, as she’d never worn makeup in her whole life.
“I hope I’m not interrupting?” Kami whispered.
Both men jumped to their feet and seemed to stand like statues.
Kami moved closer.
Taylor gaped at her. “Kami?”
“Yes?” She laughed at their expressions of shock. Yeah, it was so worth all the money and tedious time. Just to see these two fine looking power-hungry males shut up for once! Her smile grew at the long silent gawking.
Vince moved around the desk and stepped in front of Taylor. He took both her hands into his.
She smiled at him.
He bent down on one knee and peered up at her. “Will you marry me?” Vince pleaded.
Her eyes widened as she stared down at him. “What?”
“I
always promised myself ever since I became aware of the female race? That if I was lucky enough to actually meet a live goddess?” He winked up at her. “I would propose immediately!”
Kami released an abrupt burst of laughter.
Taylor glared at the back of his blond head.
Slyly, she peeked over at him and saw the hateful expression. This time there was definitely an emotion on that handsome face. He’s jealous? Her heart sent out a small flutter inside her chest.
Taylor stepped around the fawning Vince. “I thought you went home?” He stared at her with an intense gaze.
In her entire young life, she’d never lied before, as there was no such thing in the hearts of the People, but she had to throw him off, somehow. “I decided to stay for a while.” Until you make me leave.
Taylor took her arm and led her to the door.
“Hey, where are to taking my Goddess Bride?” Vince stood up.
“Sorry, old buddy, but she’s already spoken for, remember?” Taylor led her out to the hall.
A small adrenaline rush coursed through her, as he tugged at her arm and moved her to his office.
He maneuvered her in and shut the door. Swiftly grasping her arms, he forcefully moved her back up against the door.
“What are you doing?” She felt the smooth wood at her back.
Taylor moved in close, and her breath caught in her throat.
“Why did you do this?” he whispered.
“Do what?” She batted her mascara swept lashes at him.
Taylor tilted his head at her. “Change your look.” His dark eyes bored into hers.
“You don’t like it.”
He lifted her chin up to look more closely at her face. “It’s not you.”
“It fits better here in your world.” She pulled her chin away.
Tugging her closer, his lips were suddenly within a breath of hers. “My world?”
She nodded.
“I liked you the way you were.”
“That’s not the point.” She let out her breath.
“Then, what is the point?”
Kami looked around as though the room would give her an answer.
“Are you trying to make me jealous?” He pulled her up to his chest.
“What?” With the pointed question, she admitted to herself that she indeed wanted to make him jealous. There had been no need for guile in her life before and Kami suddenly wondered just what she in fact did want.
He lowered his lips and took her mouth with his. She felt a shock as his tongue pushed through her lips. A jolt of pure heat ran all the way down her body. She put her arms around his neck and pressed herself up against him. Wow, this is what I wanted!
Taylor moved his hands down to her waist and pulled her up from the floor.
With some reluctance, she broke the kiss and was entirely breathless. “Put me…” She swallowed nervously. “…Down.”
He, too, looked startled as he stared into her eyes for a long moment. “I’ve never felt like this before.”
“How do you know?” She bit at her lower lip.
“I guess you may be right, I don’t really know.” He laughed and set her onto the floor.
The flush of heat across her skin was definitely something she’d never felt before either and she was mad at herself for getting so far off track. “I was ordered to come here, remember?” She stepped back and touched her swollen lips with her fingers.
His eyes narrowed at her.
“The leader and the council—”
Abruptly, he grabbed her up again. “And what do you have to say about it?”
“I had no say!”
He seemed to still. “So, you don’t want to be here?”
“Again, that is not the point!” She looked away.
Taylor shook his head and let her go.
Kami almost stumbled back from the release. She was so drawn to the feel of his hands and his touch, but at the same time, she was terrified.
With a frustrated sigh, he walked to his desk. He flipped around and crossed his arms over his chest. “So, when do you get to leave?”
“You heard what Ananza said.” She lowered her eyes.
“And what did the Chiefs tell you?”
This I cannot lie about. It goes against how I was raised. We cannot lie about the People in any way. “I stay until...” She averted his intense gaze.
“Yes? Until?”
“Until you release me.”
“You’re fucking kidding me!” His arms fell away from his chest.
Mute, she shook her head.
“For real?” He laughed aloud.
“Well, you don’t have to rub it in, you know?”
Taylor chuckled. “Wow!”
“Wow, what?” she asked with puzzlement.
“I get to keep an Indian Goddess for as long as I want?” he exclaimed like it was Christmas.
Her mouth dropped open.
Taking her arm, he steered her out of the office. “In that case, we’re going to have some fun!” He rushed her through the hall.
Kami’s eyes were wide. “I don’t think that was what the council had in—”
“What if it was what I needed right now?” He hastily pulled her into the elevator.
Shock washed over her “You would play this for…?” Her mouth popped open.
“Oh yes, my little Indian Goddess, I certainly would!” He again, tugged her close to stand next to him. He seemed to gush with excitement like a little kid as he pressed the elevator button with a glee-filled motion.
Kami’s inner alarm bells matched the loud ding of the elevator and panic grew to large leaps in her body as the doors closed in front of them.
CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE
MADELINE
Malibu, California
The house was dark. The ocean roar of the evening tide was a muffled sound against the back deck windows. Madeline sat on the couch and stared into the dark. She had been sitting in the same place for a long time.
Hours, or had it been days already? A sob caught in her throat. No, it was a lifetime. And why should I bother to turn on a light? She thought with an ache in her chest. There’s no light without him anyway. She clenched her hands together. I have all of this money and expensive belongings, when all I really want is a river in the desert. A bareback pony ride and Dev to ride me across to the place of the tall pines. Her body flushed as she remembered the rides. She could still feel the throb deep inside of her from the most incredible sexual experience of her entire life.
Dev had her up on his black stallion and they were riding through the Grand Canyon basin. She could still feel the wind in her hair and his hot breath in her ear……
…Abruptly, he pulled his mouth away from her neck while one of his hands lowered. “I am gonna lift your dress up Madeline.” He smiled to her cheek. “I figure you know me well enough now.”
She bit her lip as her body began to throb.
He pulled her dress up to her waist. She was breathless as she stared out at the colors of the rock cliffs and she could smell the sweet pine scent of him as she nervously breathed in through her nose. “But, Dev, where are we going to—”
He removed his hands for a moment.
“What are you doing?” She grabbed a hold of the horse’s mane to keep steady.
His hands returned as he grasped her hips and pulled her up. She drew in a sharp, surprised breath as he lifted her body and moved her back toward him. “You’re really not going to—”
With a swift motion, he pulled her hips down onto his lap and entered her. She gasped as her eyes rounded and her body shook.
“What?” He leaned close to her ear again. “You’ve never ridden before?”
She felt herself get wet around his cock as it went high up inside of her. She drew in another shaky breath as she hung onto the mane. The movement of the horse’s walk caused her body to move up and down on him. “Oh,” she moaned aloud as the rhythmic sliding became intensified by his grasp
on her hips.
His hands came around, under her sundress and he tweaked her nipples with his warm fingers.
The movement jolted her insides and she began to climax immediately. “Oh, no,” she whispered desperately as the powerful orgasm took her. She had never envisioned anything like this before in her entire life and she’d wanted the ride to go on forever……
…,The roar of the sea from Malibu beach cruelly jerked her from the memory. “Forever,” she sobbed the word out. Madeline sat on the leather couch in her seven-million-dollar Malibu beach house, drew her arms up to hug herself, and wept in misery.
Los Angeles, California
Two days later…
Madeline stepped into the firm’s main lobby from the elevator and headed down the hallway to her office. Everything was the same. Everything except me. She shook her head with disgust; after two days at the beach house staring at the walls, waiting for him to show and two nights of crying? She got angry. How dare he get her involved with him when he could just disappear like smoke at anytime!
She drew her shoulders up and stared out at the skyline through the high tower window. I have to get on with it. Her cold blue eyes narrowed. Crying over a man or anyone was just plain stupid and a monstrous waste of fucking time. She sat down at her elegant glass-brass desk and pressed her phone buzzer. “Claire?” she spoke into the intercom.
There was a long pause. “Yes?” the female voice sounded startled.
“Can you bring in all my messages and missed appointments? And we need to set up some meetings.”
Another long pause went by. “Miss Sayers?” Claire’s voice sounded like a gasp.
“Yes.” Madeline swallowed as she tried to speak. No more Mrs. Ananza. “It’s me, Claire.”
“Yes, Ma’am!” Claire’s happy response boomed out from the speaker.
Madeline released a breath. I won’t cry for him anymore and I won’t look for him either! Her cold blue eyes rose up to see Claire come in through the door. Madeline Sayers is back and the Mister Disappearing Warrior can take any kind of flying leap he fucking wants!
The rest of the day had been busy.. She’d missed a lot and it would take forever to catch up. Forever... She shook her head at the haunting word and closed her office door.
