“I don’t know, maybe Jay is sweet like that.” She said all dreamy eyed like she knew him. She jumped up and looked at her hair. “Do you see any of them? I want to look my best when they come over here.”
“No, but I’m not looking for them.” I told her and folded my arms.
“Oh come on, I’m sure Jay has forgotten all about you saying no to him. He is probably waiting to come down here so he can hear you say yes yes yes yes!” She told me shaking her head. I lightly hit her and she laughed. “I don’t see them.”
I saliently hoped that she didn’t find them. I knew that Jay had gotten us in but maybe he did that for anyone.
“Honestly Angelica don’t you think being here looking for these guys is like stalking?” I let out a breath wondering why she had to be with one of these womanizers. “You can do way better.”
“Oh, no I can’t! They are better looking than any celebrity crush, any poster boy I or we could ever hope to have.” She wined.
I closed my eyes at that and hoped soon anyone would come over to ask if we wanted something to drink. I could really use a water right now, something nice and cold, before she was the death of me.
“There they are and Jay is coming over here.” Angelica almost yelled.
My eyes jumped opened and I looked were her eyes were at. There the forbidden four were all the way on the other side of the club. All of them-besides Leon- were looking at us with clear amusement in their eyes for just a brief moment then they looked away.
Damon and Nathaniel had a girl in their arms. Through Nathaniel was kissing the girl in his arms while Damon seemed to just be getting bothered with the girl he was with.
My eyes then looked over and saw Leon. He stood at the far end of them and I saw that there was a girl that was trying to talk to him, but he wasn’t paying any mind to her. He seemed deep in thought about something and I found myself wanting to know what he was thinking about.
Then my eyes saw Jay. His eyes were staring at me brightly as he walked over to us. When he got to our table he was all in smiles.
“Hello.” He let out with a smirk and I blinked at him.
Angelica looked as if she was going to pass out at any moment. I found this to be very annoying. Hadn’t I told her what he did to me early today.
“Hello to you to.” She said to him but his beautiful eyes stayed on me.
“So what brings you here?” He asked staring at me with those beautiful eyes of his.
“We came to have some fun.” Angelica said still trying her best to get his attention. My eyes looked at her then back at Jay.
I didn’t say anything I just kept hoping he would go away. When a minute passed Angelica spoke again.
“Thank you for getting us in here.”
“Angelica, right?” He asked his eyes finally looking away from me and to Angelica.
Angelica face broke out into a huge smile. It was as if he had just told her she won miss teen or asked her out on a date that I knew she was dying for. I could tell by her face that she couldn’t believe he knew her name, but was so happy that he did.
“Yes.” She beamed and her eyes briefly looked at me. I hoped she didn’t think I told him her name. I thought as I looked away from her.
“Damon wants to talk to you.” Jay said lightly as soon as he said that it was like Damon popped up out of thin air.
“Hey you aren’t blowing my cover are you?” Damon asked then wrapped his arm around Angelica shoulder.
I looked at my best friend. I could see that her green eyes were felled with happiness even in this light.
“Let’s dance.” Damon said to Angelica and dragged her away.
I watched her leave and saw that she had a small smile on her face. I didn’t like that she left me with Jay.
“You want something to drink?” He asked as he waved his hand over to a waitress.
“I’m fine.” I lied, but the girl came over and smiled at Jay then me.
“What can I get you sweetie?”
I just stared at her and shrug my shoulders. “Water.”
“I’m buying.” Jay laughed.
“In that case everything behind the bar.” I said smirking at him.
He chuckled. “Ok.”
Jay was calling my bluff and I stared at him. I didn’t believe he was serious. He was underage just like me and there was no way he could afford to buy everything behind that bar.
Well that last part was a lie. I thought. He could very well afford that. He was rich. It had always made me wonder why he or his ‘brothers’ came to our school.
“Water will be fine.” I said not really wanting him to buy me anything.
The girl looked at Jay her shoulder length blonde hair moving as she did. He shook his head at her and kept his eyes on me.
“I find you very fascinating.” He said suddenly. “And that’s not something that happens often.”
I rolled my eyes. He may find me to be that, but I find him to be annoying.
“You know if you hadn’t of come here tonight, I would have forgotten all about you.” He told me but there was something behind his voice that I didn’t quite catch. “So Bonnie why did you come here?” He asked then added. “I am hoping that you wanted to see me and not because your friend dragged you.”
I turned to look at him and saw that he was very close to me, to close for my comfort. He smelled way too good and looked even better. Hate went through me for even thinking such things. He had been very rude to me early today and I had yet to hear a sorry.
The waitress walked up and placed my drink on the table. I was so surprised she seemed not the noticed that Jay was so close to me and even more surprised that Jay acted like she wasn’t there.
“My friend wanted me to come.” I said soon after the waitress walked off. I pointed over to Angelica who was dancing very closely to Damon. “So I came.”
“I guess I will have to thank her later.” His blue eyes continued to pour into my eyes making me shift in me seat. His eyes started to make me feel light headed but I wasn’t sure why. I felt like I was being pulled to him without even realizing it.
“Why would you do that?” I asked as his face came closer to mine. He was so very close now. His lips were only inches from mine and my head kept telling me to pull away, but my body just wouldn’t listen.
“I have been waiting to talk to you, since you pretty much turned down my offer earlier today.” He smiled as if he could not believe I had done such a thing. “So tell me why would you walk away from me?”
Didn’t he say he would have forgotten me if I hadn’t come here today. I thought then looked to my side.
“Look I don’t like you so why don’t you go talk to a girl who cares.” I told him looking away from him and at Angelica who was now off the dance floor with Damon tongue down her mouth. I shook my head. She really needed to learn some self-control and I was going to tell her that.
When my eyes looked back over at Jay I saw that he was staring at me with this look as if he had already won me and I had yet to know it. Cat at a mouse hole, came to mind. His eyes looked very beautiful, he looked perfect, but I didn’t let that fool me.
Everything that sparkled wasn’t gold and everything that appeared to be perfect wasn’t.
“So my little pet you think that I am bad?” He asked
I sighed getting very annoyed at him. What did he not like being rejected? Maybe he wasn’t used to it? So now he had to get me to give in.
“Look I’m sorry but I would really like it if you left me alone.” I told him and got up from my seat. I wanted to just go to Angelica and tell her I wanted to leave.
When my feet hit the ground Jay grabbed my arm and pulled me to him. I felt his hard tone chest. I feel the muscles on my stomach and nearly felt faint. I hated myself for it.
“I know you are attracted to me, so why not just give me a little kiss.” He said as he leaned into me. “You’ll love it….I promise.”
He seemed so sure of himself
that I didn’t believe he was lying. No something in me told me he was not only speaking a truth, but something stronger than a truth, a fact.
Before I could open my mouth and tell him to go dig a grave his eyes turned gold.
I would have fallen back if he hadn’t been holding me.
“You want to kiss me, don’t you?” He whispered his lips hovering over mine.
As I stared into his eyes, I felt myself fighting with myself. I wanted to kiss him, I wanted to let go of what I thought about him and just kiss him. I wondered how his eyes had turned from blue to gold, but didn’t have time to think about it.
His lips were about to touch mine and quickly I grabbed the drink that was on the table and through it at him.
“Don’t touch me.” I yelled and pushed him off of me.
He let me go. His eyes turned back to blue, but they flashed gold every few seconds, and then stopped all together.
I stared at him. His eyes were so blue but they had flashed gold so quickly that I thought that I may have imaged it. I turned my eyes from him and saw that Damon was walking over with Angelica wrapped around his arm.
He had a small smile on his face but his smile quickly turned into a frown when he looked at Jay. I saw that Jay was staring at me with an emotion I could not read and I didn’t like it one bit.
“What’s going on with you two?” Damon asked lightly his eyes still on Jay.
“Nothing you and Angelica having fun?” He asked eyes still on me.
I shook and then looked at Angelica. She seemed different, like she wasn’t herself.
That’s when I noticed how her eyes looked. They held small black faint circles around them. Her skin looked slightly paler then what it was minutes ago. Her eyes were staring romantically up at Damon. She seemed hopeless in love with him.
But something was off. I knew that she had really wanted to be with one of the forbidden four, but how she was looking at Damon frightened me. She looked at him like he was an angel sent down from heaven. My eyes then stared a Damon not understanding what he could have done to my friend.
“We’re getting on better then you two it would seem.” Damon laughed and took his arm from around Angelica.
When his arm left from around Angelica, she grabbed it and put it back where it had been. My eyes watched her as if she had lost her mind.
“Angelica let’s go.” I said angrily. I didn’t care that we hadn’t been here that long. I wanted to leave. I needed to leave and she did to.
“I’m not ready.” She said still looking at Damon.
“If you really want to go home, Jay will take you. He was complaining early about wanting to go home.” Damon said his eyes going from mine to Jay. “Because me and Angelica here won’t be leaving for a while.”
He stared into Angelica eyes and Angelica smiled shaking her head.
“No, Angelica I’m not going to leave you.” I said then I saw Damon eyes look up at me sharply. Then he looked over at Jay with a smirk on his face.
“Maybe you should go with Jay and leave Angelica here with me.” Damon voice was light and soft. It was also like he was trying to force me to do something without even truly forcing me to do it.
His brown eyes were slowly turning gold and he stared into my eyes as if he had won whatever battle we had been about to fight. I rolled my eyes at him and looked away. My eyes landed on Jay and I saw a small smirk go across his lips. I shook my head at him becoming highly annoyed by the fact that it seemed he and Damon had a conversation going on without me knowing what was being said.
I then noticed that Damon eyes where back to their brown ones.
Maybe eyes turning gold ran in their family or something. I thought as I watched how Damon looked at me clearly annoyed.
“Let’s go Angelica.” I said then reached for her arm.
“Damn Bonnie, just stop it.” She said when I tried to grab her. Her hand went firmly around Damon’s arm and she frowned. “Jay will take you home.”
I don’t know Jay. I thought and looked at her as if she had lost her mind.
Just then I heard a loud scream. I looked over and saw that people on the dance floor were now running out of the club. I turned and looked everywhere.
What was going on?
Jay hand went around my waist and he pulled me with him.
“Come on we need to get out of here.” He said and dragged me with him.
“Not without Angelica.”
“She’s with Damon so she’ll be fine.”
As he pulled me out of the club he kept his arms around me. I could barely feel other people running into me.
When we finally got outside I could feel the night air hit my face. It felt cold and I felt even colder. A brand new beautiful car pulled up in front of us and I stared at it. The car looked right out of a car magazine. My niece would have known what kind of car it was. Cars were her passion.
“Get in.” He said and opened the door for me.
“No.” I said firmly looking around for Angelica.
Where had she gone and why were people running out of the club? I guessed he wasn’t going to take no for an answer this time, because he opened the car door, pushed me inside the car then locked and closed the door.
I was about to get out when I felt the car go into movement. I turned and looked only to see that he was already in the car driving. We quickly passed the spot where Angelica had parked. To my shock I saw that her car was no longer there, but soon my mind traveled back to Jay.
My eyes stared at him.
How had he got into the car so quickly? What was he, faster than a speeding bullet? That thought was cheesy. I quickly thought as I stared at him.
“I know that I am hot and everything, but I don’t want you to keep looking at me unless you know what you are going to be getting into.” His voice was slightly seductive.
“And what would that be.”
He looked at me his eyes clearly filled with lust and I wanted to punch him forever looking at me like that.
“You should watch the road.” I said turning to look forward.
“Don’t worry my lovely pet; you won’t die because of my driving.”
I eyed him.
“What did you call me?” My voice was just above a whisperer. I saw he only smiled at me and I folded my arms. “Where are we going?”
“My place.”
“What?”
“Your place, where do you live?” He laughed as if I had not realized he had been joking.
“Where is Angelica going with Damon?”
He shook his head and shrugged his shoulders as if he didn’t care. “Where ever she and he want to go.” I pulled out my phone and called her number. “You do know that you still haven’t told me where you live.”
I got nothing but voice mail.
“Ang, when you get this call please call me back, right away.”
I hung up the phone and put it back into my pocket. This wasn’t good. What if she was hurt or if something else worst had happened to her. What was I supposed to do?
“Could you call Damon?” I asked suddenly. “You should see if he is ok.”
I saw that he could read right into what I was doing. He knew I didn’t really care if Damon was ok or not. I just wanted to see if Angelica was ok.
“They are fine.” He said his eyes not even once looking at me. It was quiet for a few moments until he said. “Call Damon.”
I jumped slightly not knowing he had a phone built into his car. I heard it dial and dial for about four rings before Damon answered.
“I’m busy.”
“Is Angelica there?” I asked before Jay could speak. I heard a laugh in the background and knew it was Angelica.
“She said she will call you later.” Damon voice was getting upset.
“I want to speak to her.” I said and glanced at Jay only to see he was acting like he wasn’t paying any attention or maybe he was bored with the conversation.
“Bonnie, I promise to call y
ou back.” She said and then I heard the ringer.
I blinked for a few moments not understanding why Angelica had acted like that. I leaned back into the seat and folded my arms.
“I told you she was ok.”
“Bite me.” I said angrily.
“In due time.”
I rolled my eyes and kept looking forward. I needed to go home and then I would be ok. Angelica was going to get yelled at tomorrow.
“Take lain to fourth and turn on Beach line.” I said looking out the window.
I was giving him directions to my house and hoped that he knew where that was at.
As I glanced at him out of the corner of my eyes I put a frown on my lips. I should be nicer to him for even taking me home when my friend left me, not evening trying to see if I was ok. That was so not like her.
“Thanks for driving me home.” I said still looking out of the window.
“You may be cutting into my dinner, but I guess you’ll have to feed me later.” He said.
I wanted to say something smart back, but choose not to. I looked back out the window. Something told me he was waiting for something like, you’re a jerk or for me to roll my eyes.
“You can have some of the food my sister cooked.” I said knowing this would shock him. When my eyes turned to him and saw that there was a grin on his lips. I was the one who was shocked.
“What your sister cooked, won’t fill me in the least.”
“I don’t know, it’s a lot of food and it’s really good.”
He didn’t response to that instead he said something else. “How long have you been going to our School?”
“Since the first day of my freshman year.” I said. He had been attending there for three years as well, but he was a year ahead of me. “Why?”
“I haven’t noticed you before.” He said honestly and for whatever reason I was partly hurt.
I guessed it was because I had known who he was since the first time I stepped foot on our high school floor.
He and his brothers had walked into our high school as if they owned it. I still remembered the fact that he had fought with a guy-I can’t remember his name-and had pretty much sent him to the hospital. I can’t even remember what had happened to make him want to beat the boy up, that badly.
