The sun light was shining right down on the spot. I saw that he was no longer there. I guessed he was long gone.
I walked on the field and saw that the soccer players were out. I saw Reed running around with the ball, then saw that Keith was trying to take the ball from someone. They both were so into the game that neither of them noticed me.
I smiled at the picture that I saw and shook my head. I soon saw Beth. She had her hair pulled into a high pony tail and was showing some of the other cheerleaders how to do a dance. I could hear loud music in the background
Slowly, I walked over to where she was. She was so busy showing a girl a move that she didn’t notice I was standing by her.
“Beth.” A red-haired girl said laughing. “You have some company.”
Beth eyes went wide when she looked at me. She shook her head and moved a few pieces of her hair that had fallen from her pony hail from her eyes.
“Erica.” She said looking at the red-head. “Practice number four, I’ll be back.”
“Okay.” The girl said. “You heard her ladies.”
Beth told me to follow her and as I did, I heard a few sighs from some of the other cheerleaders.
She led me to a bench that was by the field and sat down. I sent by her and smiled, trying to see how I was going to tell her about Madison. I looked around the field at all of the cheerleaders and saw that Madison was nowhere to be found. I turned back to Beth.
“Where is Madison?” I asked as I tried to block the sun, from my face, with pieces of my hair, but was failing.
“I don’t know, but she is about to be kicked off the team.” Beth said with an angry frown on her face. “She’s been acting like she is captain or something. I had to tell her off the other day. Her crap is starting to get on my last nerves.”
“I heard her talking about all of us in the restroom.” I said softly. I looked up at the sky and shook my head. “What’s wrong with her?” I said, more so to myself.
I had too many things to worry about, like the forbidden four. Now I had to worry about Madison. Why didn’t she act like she was so much better than everyone else?
Something always told me she didn’t like me. I had always thought it was just because she liked Keith and she knew he liked me. But how was I supposed to help that. Madison was a pretty girl, though I hate to admit it. She could get another guy to like her, easily.
So, why was she acting like Keith was the only guy in the world? More importantly, why did she have something against Beth and Angelica?
“She is just mad that everyone seems to have a guy in their life.” Beth said shaking her head. “It’s truly sad if you ask me. The bitch needs to grow up.”
I laughed at her comment. It was really rare to hear Beth swear and whenever she did, it sounded so funny.
“I guess, but that was the reason I came over here.” I told her smiling. “I just wanted to tell you.”
“Thanks.” Beth said shaking her head. “Summer, one two left.” She yelled at a girl with black hair. The girl smiled at Beth and began to do what she said.
“I guess I should let you get back to what you were doing.” I whispered about to get up.
“Bonnie, I need to talk to you about something.” Beth said her voice low.
I turned and looked at her. My eyes were wide and focused. I didn’t know what she could want to talk about.
“Okay.”
“It’s about Angelica.” She said looking me right in the eyes. Her blue eyes seemed to have taken on a darker color. She looked as if she might be sick. I put my hand on her shoulder. She shook her head and smiled. “I’ve been trying to be supportive, you know?”
I shook my head at her. “Okay.”
“But, I don’t like how she’s been, ever since she’s been dating Damon.” Beth twisted the end of her pony tail in her finger and gave out a small chuckle. “It’s like she not even Ang anymore.”
“I know what you mean.” I whispered.
“I mean have you seen the way she dresses now or all the make-up she wears now.” Beth voice rose a bit. I hadn’t noticed her dressing differently, but I had been so focus on the fact that she was wearing makeup, to hind those dark circles, that I hadn’t noticed. “I said something about it, to her after lunch, and she just started yelling at me. Said that I was acting like you and I needed to stay out of her life.”
I frowned at that. “She said that?”
“Yeah, I told her she needed to calm down. I mean you should have seen her. She was yelling and acting as if I was trying to hurt her or something. Jonathan and Keith had to calm her down. I don’t know what’s wrong with her.”
“I think Damon is what’s wrong with her.” I whispered before I could help it. I looked up and saw Beth was shaking her head at me.
“You’re right.” She said, running a hand through her pony tail. “I’ve seen what girls act like after dating one of the forbidden four, but I never thought Angelica would act that way.”
“I think we both need to talk to her.” I whispered afraid to say the words.
“How about we all go out this week and talk?” Beth asked. I shook my head yes, thinking that would be ok, if I got my parents to say I could go. “Great, I’m sure Keith would like that to. Speaking of which, I heard you said you would go out with him.”
I opened my mouth and shook my head no. “I did not. I said I would ask my parents to see if it was ok.”
My tone must have come of defensively, because Beth through her arms up and her eyes were wide. “Don’t go Ang on me now.” I laughed at her and shook my head. “Have you asked them?”
I honesty hadn’t thought about it and in on honesty had forgotten all about it. I looked at Beth and saw that her blue eyes were watching the cheerleaders as they did their dance. Her eyes soon went back to me and she smiled.
“I haven’t done it yet.” I frowned.
“Do you want to go out with him?” Beth asked her big eyes staring at me.
“I don’t know.” I whispered.
“Well you better hurry up and decide, because here comes, Keith.” Beth voice was light and her lips went into a straight line.
I looked up and saw Keith running over to me and Beth, Reed was following close behind him.
They both stopped in front of us. Keith had this weird looking smile on his face and Reed was shaking his head at him.
“So, how have you been?” Keith asked looking at me, with a faint blush on his cheeks, and he wasn’t really looking at me.
“Good.” I said, not understanding why it felt so weird to talk to him.
“Yo, Beth, want to go get some water with me?” Reed asked moving the hair from his face.
I looked at Beth and hoped she said no. I didn’t want to be alone with Keith. I felt weird talking to him right now. Something told me that she was going to say yes, but I just hoped that something was wrong.
“Sure, why not.” Beth got up and smiled at me. She must have read something on my face because she frowned. “We’ll be right back.”
She made a face at me as if saying; you need to talk to him. She walked off with Reed and looked back at me briefly.
It was quiet for a few moments. I looked at him and saw that he was looking everywhere but me.
“So.” I said playing with my hair.
“So,” He said back and then finally looked at me. “I heard some other people went missing. My mom said she knew one of those guys. They went to high school together.”
“Really?” I asked. My eyes went wide. I really wanted to know more about this. “Has she heard anything at all about what’s been happening to them?”
Keith eyes went wide. He looked like he hadn’t thought I would be so interested in that conversation.
“She knows just what the news has been saying.” He said. He looked me in the eyes and smiled. “You weren’t in that café today?”
“I wasn’t really hungry, so I skipped.” I lied, slightly. I was hungry earlier today and still was
, but I just couldn’t face the forbidden four.
“I heard that you were hanging out with them.” His tone implied that he was talking about the forbidden four, but I acted like I didn’t know what he was talking about.
“Who are them?” I asked still playing with my hair.
“Why are you playing around?” He asked and his tone of voice made me looked at him. I glared at him as if to tell him to watch his tone. “Those guys aren’t right. I don’t know what’s wrong, but I am going to have a talk with that Damon.”
He said Damon name like it was a bad taste in his mouth. I stared at him trying to read him.
“Because of Angelica?” I asked and he shook his head.
“Have you talked to my cousin lately?” He asked, but I felt like he wasn’t really asking me that. He didn’t even wait for me to open my mouth and tell him yes. “I am going to tell him to leave her alone.”
I blinked at him. “You know how they are, Keith.” I said not wanting him to get hurt. The forbidden four would try to mess him up, if he challenged them. Jay had hurt someone before, even Nate had beat up that guy at the club. I knew that Damon would hesitant to hurt Keith and I didn’t want that. “I don’t want them to mess with you.”
He shook his head. “I’m not going to let him hurt her, Bonnie.”
“I know,” I said looking at him, ready to cry. I didn’t want Damon to hurt her, either. I wanted to confront him and would very soon. “But you need to be careful with dealing with them.”
“Like you are?” He asked, and then his green eyes turned darker.
“What do you mean?”
“Bonnie, the whole school was talking about how you and Leon where together. I saw you myself and was going to say something, but coach made me stay on the felid. Then I had to hear it was Madison.” He said shaking his head. “What is it with everyone and them?”
I stood up, angry. “What are you trying to say?”
“Do you like him or any of them for that matter?” He asked looking right at me searching for something.
“No.” I said the word so quickly I believed it. I didn’t like them; I only liked Leon, a little bit. Nate was ok, Damon I hated, and Jay…..was kind of growing on me. But I didn’t know what I fully felt for them and I wouldn’t until I knew the truth about them.
“Okay.” He said then shook his head. “I’m sorry for getting like that. So, I was wondering if you talked to your parents.”
He must have believed me because he moved passed the topic and even apologized.
“No, but I will ask them tonight.” I reinsured him.
He shook his head, and then bit his bottom lip. “Great.”
“You two okay?” I heard Beth say. I turned and saw her and Reed walking to us.
“Yeah, we’re fine.” I smiled. “But I need to go. I said I would be home, a long time ago.”
“Okay, talk to you later, Bonnie.” Reed said and Beth smiled waving at me.
I saw Keith nod at me and I walked off.
After I was done talking to my friends, I walked back to school. I had to catch the bus back home, but I didn’t care. I had a lot to think about.
I walked towards the school parking lot that would take me to the closest bus stop. When I got there I noticed everyone cars were gone, everyone’s but his.
Jay was leaning against his car. His eyes were shining a bright blue. The sun light made his skin glow and he looked like he walked right off of someone’s runway.
I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath. I tried to act as if I hadn’t noticed him and just continued on my way to the bus stop, but Jay started to walk over to me.
“Bonnie, wait up.” He yelled and I turned my head only to see that he was now standing right before me.
I blinked at him and shook my head. “How did you move so fast?” I let out and couldn’t move. He didn’t say anything at first. He just looked at me. His face said that he was clearly annoyed, but I didn’t care. “Are you going to tell me or am I going to have to go to the police?”
My words came out like I truly meant them, but I hoped he wouldn’t call my bluff.
“Get into my car.” He said. He was standing very close to me and I felt my heart begin to race. I shook my head no at him. “Bonnie, I don’t want to make you.”
I glared at him as if saying, I wish you would. I knew that after what I had seen, he could easily do, just what he said.
“Leave me alone.” I whisperer out after a long paused. “Please.”
“I won’t hurt you, I promise.” He said, so softy, so honestly, that I believed him. “But you have to get into my car.”
I still didn’t know. I stared at his beautiful car and frowned. “Why?”
“We need to talk. Now are you coming willingly or…?” He trailed off moving his head, making his hair move.
I stared at him. I knew I couldn’t out run him. I knew that if he wanted to he could kill me right now. There wasn’t anyone around to see and if I screamed he would have me dead, before the scream even left my mouth. I really didn’t have a choice. I just hoped that he didn’t hurt me.
“What choice do I have?” I said softly and started to walk to his car. I saw him smirk.
“That’s my pet.” He laughed. I glared at him, for calling me pet. He opened his car door for me and smiled. “There you go.”
I got in and sat down. It was a really nice car. Even I had to admit that. But I started to wonder how many other girls had sat down in this very car with him. Probable tons of girls had been in this car before me and tons would be after me.
When he got into the car he closed the door hard and started the car. He raced off as if someone was after us. I put my seat belt on and he laughed.
“You’re crazy.” I yelled and he laughed louder. “Don’t kill me.”
He stopped laughing so quick that I thought I had said something wrong. “I’m not going to kill you, hurt you, nor do anything that you don’t want me to do.”
I blinked at and frowned. “Then why am I in this car?” I said moving my hands all around. “Why are you pretty much kidnapping me?”
“It’s for your own safety.” He said coolly.
“Safety….from what?” I asked staring hardly at him.
It was so quiet that I thought he might now have heard my question. I opened my mouth to repeat myself, but he cut me off.
“I can’t tell you that, right now.” He said and looked at me quickly.
“I want to get out.” I said.
“I want you to stay in.” He smirked at me.
This made me roll my eyes. “Well we don’t always get what we want.”
“Still, I can’t do that.”
I groaned and looked around his car. I noticed that the car seats where leather, costumed at that, and that his stereo system looked like it cost a pretty penny. I looked briefly at him wondering why he spent so much money on things like this, and then I looked outside of the window.
We were passing tons of trees. I began to wonder where he was taking me. The farer he drove the more I felt like he was leaving the place I lived.
My eyes turned to him and I blinked. I opened my mouth at ask him where we were going, and then closed my mouth when he looked at me briefly.
His blue eyes were so bright, that I was sure the blue sky would be jealous. He flashed me a smile, and then looked back at the road. He seemed so happy. It was like he was proud of something. He kept this big huge grin on his face and ever so often he would look at me.
“Why do you have that stupid smile on your face?” I asked, folding my arms.
“Do you like music?” He asked then turned on the radio. I heard a new hit song, which had been playing over the radio for a while, come on. I frowned and shook my head, thinking I didn’t care about listening to music right now. “I can turn the station.” He whispered.
I looked at him then shook my head, frowning. “I don’t care about any song that’s playing. Where are we going?”
“You’ll see.”
He drove some more and I stayed salient. I just kept looking out of the window and kept my arms folded. I was being taken somewhere against my will, yet he was acting like I had asked him to take me out.
What was he going to do to me? I wondered, watching as he drove pass places I had never seen before.
We were passing huge builds; that looked like they belonged in designer magazines. I stared at them wondering where in the world he was taking me. I wasn’t used to seeing places like this or being this up close to them.
I turned, too looked at him and saw he still had the weird grin on his lips. I rolled my eyes and looked forward. As soon as I could I would get away from him and tell someone about what he did to me.
He began to turn the car down a road, which led to path road. He drove down the road that was surrounded by trees, until he came to huge house.
It looked more like a mansion. I thought when I saw it better.
The mansion was wide and tall. It had huge beautiful windows that looked like someone cleaned them every day. The front of the place was covered with flowers and beautiful green grass.
There was a nice stone walkway that led to the huge front doors. I blinked at the place when he stopped in front of it. I wanted to pinch myself, so I could see if I was dreaming or not. I had never seen such a beautiful place before. It looked right out of a fairy tale book.
I laughed in my head, at my last thought. Fairy tale book, that was so cheesy, yet so true.
He got out of the car quickly and before I could blink again he was opening my door. I stared at him and his hand that was out for me to take.
“How did you move like that?” I murmured. My voice seemed dry and uneven. I wasn’t sure if I was afraid or just ready to pass out.
“Please come in.” He said ignoring my question.
“What do you want from me?” I asked moving my eyes from him to his hand.
“I was being honest when I said I wouldn’t hurt you.” He said to me, his hand still out, waiting. “But you need to come with me.”
“Why?”
“I told you, it’s for you’re safely.”
“From what?” I asked my tone was getting angry. I was feeling even angrier. I didn’t like how he wasn’t answering my questions or how he had made me come with him.
