“Come inside and I will tell you whatever you want to know.” He said then frowned shaking his head.
I eyed his hand that was still out for me. I should just go with him. It wasn’t like I had any choice in the matter. He could easy hurt me if he wanted and right now he seemed to be playing nice.
My hand went out and just when I was about to take his hand, I pulled back. I got out of the car and moved passed him. I saw the way he looked at me. His face looked slightly put off and somewhat angry.
I followed him into the mansion, trying to not stare too much at the place.
“Is this your house?” I asked when we finally got to the two doors.
He looked back at me and smiled. “Yeah.”
No, wonder he thought my house looked middle class. His house was better than any house I had seen on life styles of the rich and famous.
How rich was he? I blinked at the thought, and then shook my head. And if he was rich why was he at my school?
Jay pulled out a key and opened the door. He moved to the side for me and smiled. “After you.” His tone was warm and made me wonder why he was trying to be nice.
I walked into the house and the first thing I saw was a huge staircase. It was wooden and had a beautiful glow. I was able to see my own reflection in it. I then noticed the paintings that where on the walls and the beautiful flowers that were on the table, in front of me.
“Master Jay, your parents called.” I turned my head and saw a guy in a black suit walk into the room. He looked like he was around my parent’s age. The guy had thick brown hair. His eyes were golden and he was staring at me as if he knew me. “Is this Ms. Bonnie?” He smiled and I blinked at him.
“How do you know my name?” I asked then folded my arms. I didn’t like this one bit. I turned my head to Jay and saw he was staring at me.
“Did you tell everyone, Patrick?” Jay asked.
“Yes, they know. Damon, Leon, and Nate all went out looking.” Patrick said his eyes moving from me to Jay. “They haven’t come back yet.”
“I didn’t sense anything, so I’m sure their fine.” Jay shrugged then grabbed my arm.
I had no idea what they were talking about and wanted to know, badly. He started to drag me out of the room and I was going to open my mouth to tell him, I didn’t need him to drag me, but closed my mouth when I saw how Patrick was looking at me.
Patrick golden eyes scanned me like I was more than his dinner, I was his desert to.
“Patrick, go eat.” Jay tone said like there was a threat in it. “And you filled the refrigerator like I said, right?”
“Yes, sir.” Patrick gave me one last look then left.
“Hungry, Bonnie?” Jay asked after Patrick was no longer in my sight. He kept dragging me down the long hallway.
“No, not really.” I lied, almost yelling. I was really hungry. I had skipped lunch and barely had a breakfast. “You said you were going to answer my questions.”
“I am.” He said then turned down the hall and took me through a door.
When we went into the room I saw that it was the kitchen. The kitchen was nice and big. I knew, that if my sister had ever come into this place, she would have thought she was in paradise.
Jay let go of my arm and walked over to the refrigerator. He started looking all around in the thing, like he was trying to find something really important.
“Why did you take me here?” I asked wanting to get some answers to my questions.
“I thought you might be hungry.” He tone was teasing and I rolled my eyes.
I wanted to hit him and say you know what I meant. He was trying to avoid my questions like Leon had done. But unlike Leon, I didn’t find it funny or cute.
“I’m being serious.” I frowned at him.
“So am I.” Jay said then pulled out some food. “You like Italian food?” I stared at the food he had in his hand. My stomach growled just looking at it. My eyes went back to his and I saw him smile, this knowing smile. “I thought you were hungry, you did skip lunch.”
He started to put all of the food out on the table. I watched as he started to make the food right before my eyes. He seemed like he knew just what to do and this made me feel weird. It was like he knew his way around a kitchen and I had barely knew how to boil water.
I turned my head from him and pushed pass my own insincerities. “Why did you really bring me here, Jay?” I asked not looking at him, but looking at the door.
“You know, I’m faster than you.” Jay said. I turned to look at him. His back was to me and he was busy cutting up some tomatoes. “So, don’t do anything stupid.”
“Like run.” I said. “You forced me to come with you, now you’re acting like we are on some kind of date!”
He was seriously crazy if he thought I was just going to stand here and watch him cook. Jay was acting like he wanted to be my boyfriend or something.
“I brought you here to keep you safe.” He said a bit angrily. “Next question.”
I took in a breath and looked at him cooking. There were some many things I wanted to ask him, but where to start. I was finally getting my chance to ask my questions.
“What’s been happening to the missing people?” I asked. I watched him put the pasta in some boiling water and he turned to me.
“Someone’s been taking them.” He said then looked me over almost as if he was trying to see if I was ok.
“Taking them for what?” I asked not to sure if I wanted to know that answer. But I had come this far and I wasn’t ready to turn back.
Jay started to walk to me. When his body was close to mine, he put his hand under my chin and made me look up at him.
We stood like that, for a few minutes. He was just staring into my eyes looking at me. It felt like he was searching for something, fear maybe. I wasn’t sure.
“Because they need them to open….” He paused, and then looked at the door.
“What?” I asked then felt his arms go around me very quickly.
He picked me up and moved so fast, I didn’t realize he had moved, until he was setting me door in a room. I opened my mouth to ask what was wrong, but he put his finger, gently, on my lips.
“Don’t say anything.” He whispered. “Try to breathe very lightly.”
He closed the door on me and I heard a lock. I folded my arms and glared at the door. I turned and looked around. I saw that I was in a bedroom. I began to wonder if it was his.
I hoped he doesn’t think I was going to do anything with him. I thought looking around.
The bed was huge and looked comfortable. The walls were white and looked to be freshly painted. I walked around seeing that on the desk right buy the computer, there was a picture.
I picked the picture up and saw that it was of a girl.
She was really beautiful. Her hair was long, wavy, thick, and dark. She had huge dark eyes and dark skin. She looked like she was from the eighteen-hundreds. All of her beautiful hair was pulled up, but the back of her hair waved down around her.
The girl looked like anyone would think or rather know she was beautiful. I wondered if she was someone’s girlfriend. But the pictured looked too old for her to even still be around.
Just as I began to try and examine the picture some more, I heard Damon loud voice ring through the halls.
“Jay, where the hell are you?” He yelled and I dropped the picture.
The picture crashed down to the floor and broke. I started to pick the picture up and try to fix it, but it was beyond fixing. There was glass everywhere.
I thought about going out and telling Jay, but remembered that he said to stay in here and the he had locked me in this room.
My mind started to think about why he would even want to put me in here. Then I heard Nate voice.
“Clam down Damon, let him explain.” Nate voice was clam and even.
I walked to the door and put my ear on it. I needed to hear them more clearly.
“Get off of me Nate and Leon.” Da
mon yelled. “We have to kill that girl. It’s the only way. Bonnie has to die.”
That’s when I froze and my mind went blank.
Chapter 12
Explain
I stood there, for I don’t know how long, just staring out in space. I couldn’t hear them. I guessed they weren’t saying anything, but my mind was going on a rampage.
Damon had said I had to die. He had said they had to kill me. Where they going to kill me?
No, one knew I was here. In fact if they killed me right now, no one would know I had even been with Jay.
I bit my lip and began to look around. What could I do? How could I get out of here? I went into my pocket and pulled out my phone. I could call my parents and tell them where I was.
They would then tell me to come home and I would tell them I couldn’t, that would make my dad come out looking for me. If I told them that I was being held here, then they could even get the police to come.
“What the hell have you told her?” Damon yelled. “I’m tired of her saying shit to Angelica. I already have to use too much dust on her; I don’t want to have to hurt that bitch.”
I blink, wondering what he was talking about. I knew from his statement that he wanted to hurt me or rather kill me, but what did he mean by dust.
“Damon stop,” I heard Jay voice, it was loud and firm. “You’re not going to touch her.”
I gripped the phone in my hand and rolled my eyes. Jay knew I was listening to him. He was just trying to make me think I could trust him.
“You can’t stop me.” Damon said his voice on edge.
“We both can.” I heard Leon say. His voice was different. It was darker. It made me slightly afraid. I had never heard him speak like that and for whatever reason I didn’t think the other guys were used to it either.
“You are going to say something to me, because of her.” Damon voice was closer or louder, I wasn’t sure.
“If I have to,” Leon voice was soft. I was surprised I heard it. “I will.”
“Damon, Leon calm down.” Nate said. “Look, we don’t know what she knows and since Jay as well as Leon doesn’t think she’s a threat, we should give her a chance.”
“To hell with that,” Damon yelled. “Get out of my way, Jay.”
I soon heard a loud crash. I thought I could even hear fighting. I could understand how I was hearing all of this going on. If they were hitting each other that hard they shouldn’t be able to move.
“Leon get Jay.” I heard Nate yell. “We’re brothers! We can’t act like this.”
“Fuck you, Jay! Fuck you!” I heard Damon loud voice ring through the room. “Picking some human, over your brother!”
I took in a breath and moved away from the door. I blinked and walked to the huge window that was in the room. I unlocked it and started to open it.
“Do you hear that?” I heard Damon asked, suddenly. “I smell something.”
“Damon…..” Nate let out.
“You jack-ass, you’ve been trying to hide her smell, with all of these damn flowers. I was wondering…..ass.”
“Damon-stop!” I heard Nate yell.
Before I was able to get the window all the way open, I heard the door slam open. I turned my head and saw that the door was on the ground. I looked from the door to Damon.
His eyes were blazing gold. He was staring at me with so much hatred, that if looks could kill, I would be more than six feet under.
My eyes stared at the broken door on the ground. I could believe he was that strong. He had knocked down the door and was standing over it like nothing had happened.
“What are you doing here?” Damon asked his voice soft and low.
“I….I….” I was at a loss of words. I couldn’t think of anything at all as his golden eyes stared deadly at me.
“Leave her alone.” Jay said and he walked into the room. He looked at me and took in my hand on the window, then looked at the broken glass on the floor. I heard him let out and sign, and then he shook his head. “I brought her here.”
Jay walked to me and stood in front of me. He turned his back to me and stood in front of Damon.
Leon and Nate slowly walked into the room. I saw Nate look at me and then his eye went to the door on the ground. He shook his head.
“You killed Leon’s door.” Nate laughed, and then his eyes went to the glass on the floor. His face changed as soon as he looked over the picture and glass. He looked up at me and then looked at Jay. “Wise choice.”
I frowned not knowing what he meant by that. I also wondered why Jay had put me into Leon’s room.
Leon walked into the room. He looked at me briefly then looked at the glass on the ground. His eyes then went to the picture on the floor. I wasn’t sure, but it looked like his eyes flashed another color. It happened so fast that I didn’t know if they flashed gold or not.
He walked over to the picture on the ground and picked it up. He looked at me and I saw something I couldn’t read in his eyes. He picked up the picture and just walked out of the room.
“Well if Leon taking the higher road, maybe we all can.” Nate said giving a nervous chuckle. His eyes were looking after Leon.
“Why is she here?” Damon said ignoring Nate.
“She needs to know.” Jay said.
“Why?” Damon gold eyes were still on me. “This wouldn’t be because….”
“No, she needs to know.” Jay said folding his arms. “She’s in danger.”
“So, this is because of that.”
“Can you please stop talking about me like I’m not in the room?” I asked then bit my lip when I saw all three of them eye me.
“Sorry.” Jay let out then looked at Nate. “We should get Leon.”
“You sure?” Nate voice seemed different. He didn’t seem like he was trying to keep the peace anymore. “She had to break that.”
“Come on.” Jay told me and grabbed my hand. He led me past Nate and Damon. He took me into a huge dinner room with a long wooden table. There were six chairs in the room and a huge expensive looking chandelier. “You can sit down. I’ll bring you something to eat.”
I blinked at him not knowing what to say.
Why was he acting like nothing had just happened? Did he really think I wanted to eat at a time like this?
He pulled out a chair for me and smiled. “I’ll answer all of your questions and so will they.”
I walked to the chair and sat down. I looked and then shook my head. It wasn’t like I had a choice, but to believe him. I watched as he left the room, so very quickly, I almost didn’t see him.
“Could you please stop doing that?” I yelled after him.
I knew that they weren’t human, but it was still kind of weird sitting here and not knowing what they were. It was even weirder knowing that he could move like that. I wondered what else they could do.
Before I was able to think any more about the forbidden four, Nate, Damon, and Leon all came into the room, quickly. They moved just like Jay had. I blink; they were all sitting down in front of me.
Damon eyes where no longer gold. He didn’t seem mad anymore at me. He just seemed like himself. Nate had this weird looking smile on his face. He looked like he was ready to burst out laughing.
When my eyes went to Leon, I was scared. I didn’t know if he as mad at me or not. But I felt like I had done something really wrong. When I did finally look at him, I saw his eyes looked like he wasn’t mad at me. I wanted to smile.
I moved my eyes from him and looked at the open door frame that Jay had gone through.
“I’m sorry, Leon.” I whispered, not even looking at him. “I didn’t mean to break your picture.”
“It’s ok.” I heard him say. I looked up at him and I saw he was staring at me with this kind of smile on his lips that made me want to blush.
We kept staring at each other for a long time, and then I heard someone clear their throat. I turned and saw it was Nate.
“So, Bonnie,” Nate began and lea
ned back in his chair. “I guess you are going to be in on our little secret.” I heard Damon groan. “I guess that will be ok. It’ll be like having food on call or something.”
“You’re not going to eat her.” Leon said flatly.
“What’s she good for then?” Damon tone was sarcastic.
I wanted to just come out and ask what they were, but right when I was about to Jay sat down in the chair by me, and put his arm around my chair.
I nearly jumped right out of my seat.
“Shut up.” Jay said and I heard Nate laugh. “Patrick is going to bring out something for us all to eat.”
“When, I’m starved.” Nate said hitting the table.
“What we have to eat because of her.” Damon voice held a faint sense of angry. “I don’t like putting on airs.”
“Come on, Damon we’re all making the best of this.” Nate said hitting Damon arm. “She’s not so bad to look at.”
“Hey.” I said and all of their eyes went to me. They all started laughing and shaking their heads.
“See,” Nate began. “She talks to us. She doesn’t say what she thinks we want to hear, she is just herself. That’s really refreshing.”
Patrick came out and put a plate of food in front of everyone. It was lasagna with tons of sauce. I noticed that Leon food had tons of veggies. Patrick put pop in front of everyone, but Leon. He gave him a huge bottle of water.
“Why do you get water?” I asked lightly looking at my food. It looked really good and smelled even better. I wanted to eat it badly, but I wasn’t sure.
“You want some water?” Leon asked. I looked up at him and saw he was smiling at me.
I shook my head. “So, are you going to start to tell me what you all are?”
“I thought you knew.” Nate said after he finished eating some lasagna that was in his mouth. He eyes looked at Jay. “So, she knows nothing at all.”
“What do you want to know?” Jay asked looking at his brothers.
Damon was eating, but it looked like he didn’t really want to. Nate was just looking at me and drinking some of his pop. Leon was drinking his water and kept his eyes on me.
