The Life She Couldn't See
Page 18
When we pull into the house, I see Kea is already home. Anxious now to get inside and make sure she is ok, I unbuckle Cole from his car seat, and we enter the house.
“Kea. Baby we’re home.” She comes around the corner with her face glowing and smiling at the two of us. God is she beautiful.
“How are my two favorite men?” She asks while picking Cole up, and leans towards me for a kiss. The body between us prevents us from enjoying the embrace the way we want. But there is always tonight.
“We are good little mama. What smells so good?”
“I threw in a meatloaf when I got home. It should be done soon. I am finishing with the mashed potatoes now.” How did I get so lucky? She cooks too.
“Do you need help with anything?”
“Nope. Just wash your hands and get ready.”
Cole and I go upstairs to wash our hands. We waste a little bit of time reading, he loves Pete the Cat books. We are just finishing the last one when Kea calls us downstairs. Once all the food is ready, Cole and I set the table, and we sit to eat.
“Cole sweetie, do you want to talk about your first day?” Kea asks him.
“Not really.” She lifts her brow at me, and I mouth to her that she and I will talk later.
“Baby, how are the wedding plans coming along?” I need this to be official. To know she is mine.
“I haven’t started on them. There’s no rush babe. I’m enjoying everything right now.”
“Yeah. We’ll see.” I tell her with a wink.
The rest of dinner goes off without a hitch. We finish eating, clean up the dishes, do our teeth brushing, and a few books and kisses we put Cole to bed. Walking into our bedroom I stop by the doorframe. I watch her nightly ritual of lotioning and wonder how the fuck did this Goddess end up mine.
“You gonna stand there? Or are you going to join me in getting some rest?” Oh, she thinks she is going to sleep does she. Yeah ok.
“Turn around baby and climb onto the bed.”
Her face turns red, but she does as I say. Watching her climb in the bed and turn her ass towards me, my mouth begins to water. It is like spit built up and is overflowing out. She is fucking delectable. That ass is the things dreams are made from. I walk towards her and grab both of her plump ass cheeks, squeezing them.
“Mmm. Colton.” She moans.
Wiggling her ass. I know she never sleeps with underwear on, ever since I told her I like access all throughout the night. Her leaking and pink pussy is opening and closing, inviting me inside.
“Yes baby. What can I do for you?” I ask her running my finger up and down her wet and warm slit. Watching the cream coat my fingers. I stick my finger in my mouth, sucking off all her sweet cream. Watching her lick her lips as she watches me suck her off my fingers.
“Stop playing around, because I need you.” She whines pushing her ass in face.
“What are you going to give me in exchange?” I ask her, continuing to run my knuckles back and forth through her wet sticky pussy. Watching her as she moans and tries to move back against my hand is enough to drive my passion higher. I move it up and down making sure to bump her clit as I go.
“Anything. I will give you anything you want. Just, please fuck me.” She pleads with me. Her body is visibly shaking from the need pouring out of her.
I pull my cock out of my boxers. There is no bothering with pretense at this point. We both know how this is going to end. I run my cock back and forth, then up and down her cream. Leaning over her and whispering in her ear, “Pick a date and don’t make it any longer than three months.” I don’t bother waiting for her agreement. I enter in so fucking quickly my eyes blurr.
“Yes. Ok. Yes. Fuck me. Fuck me.”
Gripping her hips, I move her on and off my cock. I have been worked up since we came home. I am about to blow and reach around the front of her to pinch her clit as my teeth sink in her neck. We come, screaming together, panting. Slowly pulling my cock out of her, I don’t bother putting bottoms back on. I know I am going to have her again sometime throughout the night. Instead, I lie down and she climbs in after me.
“Hmmmm…thank you babe. I needed that,” she says kissing my neck and snuggling in.
“I always need you little mama. I love you.” She is asleep before I get the words out
Chapter 26
KEA
I am so excited. Not only am I going with my siblings to meet grandparents I didn’t know existed, but we are all traveling in a RV. I have always wanted to ride in one. It’s close quarters and all, but it seems fun and let’s be honest I have always shared space with my sisters, until my brothers came and got us. We are going to be on the road for 34 hours, only stopping to switch drivers between the guys. Everyone is going to be there for three blissful days.
The week has been amazing. Even though I got fired on Monday, it did nothing to dampen the rest of the week. In fact, it made it all the better. I signed up for the PTA at Cole’s school. We asked him if he wanted to do any extracurricular activities and he surprised me when he got excited to learn Karate. I was a bit giddy at how easily a routine came to us all, and before I knew it Friday is upon us.
Colton woke me this morning with his head between my legs. I love waking up that way. Then he made love to me like it was the last time and I found myself crying. After reassuring him I was fine, he loved me until the sun was fully bathing the sky and it was time to get ready.
I was nervous for Cole. It was going to be his first time meeting the rest of his new family. And though I know my family is great, we can be a bit overwhelming for anyone.
“Cole, I would like for you to meet your new Uncles and Aunts. This is Braxton, Apollo, Leif, and Jairo.” He waves at my brothers before hiding behind Colton and peeking his head out.
“Hey little man. It is very nice to meet you.” Jairo says to him, kneeling beside him and holding out his hand. I hold my breath, worried that this all might be too much. To my surprise, he steps from behind Colton and shakes his hand.
“Nice to meet you too.” Smiling, I swipe the tear from my eyes. It makes me very happy that we get to give this precious little boy a real family.
“Now I would like you to meet Fae, Quetzal, and Phoenix.” All of my sisters say hello at the same time which has all of us laughing, including Cole. I exhale a deep breath, knowing that the rest is just logistics.
Before I know it, we are saying goodbye to Colton, as Fae says goodbye to Ren. Yes. I know. I was shocked as shit too that he let her go, especially as heavily pregnant she is. But if I know my sister, she wasn’t having it. He likes to pretend he runs things. But everyone knows who really runs the house, I think. Stifling a giggle as he gives commands to Tony and Leif about how to take care of her.
“You got everything you need baby?” Colton asks me, turning me in his arms.
“Yes. We are all set. What are you going to do with yourself with no me and no Cole?” I poke him the chest pretending to be serious.
“Work, little one. I have some stuff to catch up on. I’m going to miss you like crazy though.” He leans down, and like every time when his mouth touches mine it feels like I am floating. I grab him by his shirt and stand on my tiptoes trying to get as much of his mouth inside of mine as possible. Finally, he pulls me back from him placing a kiss on my forehead before squatting down.
“Come here little man.” I watch as Cole walks up to Colton. He lifts him in his arms and looks at him forehead to forehead. I stifle a giggle at how cute they look.
“Your job is to look out for your mom little dude. When I am not around, you are the man in charge. OK?” I cover my hand with my mouth. This is the most beautiful picture I have ever seen. Pulling out my phone, I take a picture of their profiles. So serious, yet so cute.
“Ok. I will.”
“That’s my boy. Give me a hug.” He leans over and wraps his little arms around Colts neck. I can see him trying to be tough and not let it get to him, but hell it’s getting to me.
r /> “Alright everybody. Load up.” Braxton yells for us to get in the RV. I turn to Colton to tell him bye one more time. He puts Cole down and ruffles his hair before pulling me back to him.
“I love you baby. Be safe. Listen to your brothers. Call me every hour to let me know you are ok.”
“Every hour? Isn’t that a bit much?” I tease him. But the look on his face is not amusement. I clear my throat trying to reach his level of seriousness. “I promise to call you every chance I get. I love you too.”
Once everyone is in and I get Cole settled, we take off. I can't help but be excited at the adventure ahead.
We have been driving for 33 hours and I must say it has been...something. I haven’t been this enclosed with my siblings in years. It's good to know some things never change. Jairo still snores like his windpipe is obstructed. Apollo lets it rip while he sleeps, forcing the rest of us to open all available windows. That one even made Cole laugh hysterically. Totally worth it. Phoenix still cheats at UNO, even while teaching my son how to play it. She and Tony have been teaching him all sorts of games. I had to tsk tsk her with that one. Quetzal is still the worst singer I have ever met. Not that she cares she is killing us slowly. And Fae and Braxton still fight over everything.
I wouldn’t trade these memories for anything. The best part of the whole thing is the way Phoenix and Cole have taken to one another. He has practically been glued to her side for the past 12 hours and I couldn’t be happier. As the youngest out of us, Phoenix I believe relates to him the most.
“Alright guys. We’re here.” Brax announces. We all run to the windows, to look out. My mouth basically falls open. It is quite simply the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Their land is simply stunning. I can see horses roaming. Cows munching. Three barns and more land than I knew any one ranch could hold. I must not be the only one. I look and see everyone’s mouth hanging open. We gather our things and get out of the RV. Immediately, we are greeted by love.
“Oh, my word. Donald look at them.” My grandmother says with tears in her eyes. She is a very tiny woman and probably weighs a buck soaking wet. But she is so beautiful. My grandfather is a Viking compared to her. He is a huge burly man. Standing six feet tall and 215 pounds of burly sturdiness.
“Grandma Fiona, Grandpa Donald. I would like for you to meet FaeWren, Quetzal, Kea, and Phoenix.” Apollo introduces us. It’s apparent the familiarity they have with one another already.
“You are all so beautiful. My goodness. May I hug you ladies?” She asks.
We all of course nod our heads, too emotional to speak. She moves to each one of us, and wraps her arms around everyone in a hug. I cannot describe the overwhelming feeling of finding something you didn’t know you had lost. When she has hugged all of us and played with Fae’s belly for a few seconds, Fae then introduces her to Tony. My grandma turns to Tony.
“My, aren't you a big handsome fella. What’s your name?” My nephew looks at her with his chest puffing out.
“Anthony Renaldo Jr., but everyone calls me Tony.” She hugs him and plants a lipsticked stained kiss on his forehead. Finally, she looks down at Cole who is standing next to Tony. My nephew seems to have deemed himself Cole’s protector since we have been in the RV.
“And who might you be handsome?” She asks Cole.
“This is my son Cole.” I say rubbing his back.
“Well Cole. It’s so wonderful to meet you. How would you both like to call me GG?” He looks at her, his finger in his mouth and whispers, “Ok.” as Tony says sure.
“Well. You all must be parched and hungry. I have steak and potatoes just now coming out. Why don’t you all go wash up while the boys take your stuff upstairs, and we can all sit for lunch.” She ushers us inside and shows us to the rooms. The house is huge. She has six bedrooms. I would call the decor Martha Stewart meets a wood shop. Cole and I take the room right when you get to the top of the stairs.
“Little man we have to call your dad and let him know we made it.” I grab my phone and dial Colt.
“Hey baby. Did you guys finally make it?”
“Yep. We are just getting settled in before we go down for lunch.”
“Good. How’s my little guy?”
“He’s fine. Just looking around.”
“Well enjoy yourself baby. I love you. Talk to you tonight.”
“I love you too.”
After hanging up we wash up a bit, change clothes, and head downstairs. The smells coming from the kitchen are amazing.
“Well, after we eat, how about I show you some pictures of your dad. I want you to see him how he was before he became what he is. For the life of me I can’t figure out where we went wrong with him….” she cries as she tries to make excuses for him. I can only imagine what it has to feel like as a mom knowing your child is a monster.
My grandfather takes a second to comfort her before we eat. Lunch is pretty quiet. When it is over, we help clean up and Cole goes down for a nap. Once he is down, I go back downstairs and am shocked to hear the laughter coming from Phoenix. I don’t think she has cracked one unforced smile since everything happened.
Hmmmm. Maybe we all needed this more than we knew.
We decided pretty early on not to spend the whole time talking about our dad. Instead, we wanted to get to know one another. She spends time with each of us individually, asking about our lives.
Cole had a blast riding the Pony they have and chasing the chickens as he feeds them. He even made friends with her dog. We all had so much fun, we didn’t realize time was moving until we woke up and three days had passed. Breakfast is a bit somber knowing our visit is over, but still full of laughter and lightness we haven’t had in a long time. It isn’t until we are all loading up, that I realize Phoenix is not packed.
“I can’t go back right now, Kea. It’s all too much, and everywhere I turn there is something that reminds me of Mikhail. I need...space and time to think. Figure out what I want.”
“Are you sure? I get it. But you’re pregnant. I don’t want to miss that and neither does the rest of them.” It’s true. She is the baby out of all of us. The thought of not going through the pregnancy with her is making me feel left out in a way.
“I promise not to be here through the whole thing. I just need some time.”
“If you say so. I love you little sis. Call anytime day or night. I can be on a plane in an instant.” She laughs.
“I know. I love you too.” After more goodbyes, hugs, and kisses we are off. Back on the road. Going home to my love. My future.
Chapter 27
KEA
“Wake up baby boy.” I rub Cole’s head as I kiss his cheek. I hate that he had to miss two days of school, but it couldn’t be helped. Although I know Colton would have been fine with him here, I wasn’t ready to be away from him. Now here I am trying to wake him for school, which sucks even more considering we got in mid-day yesterday. I know he is pooped, but I don’t want to start showing him bad habits.
“Time for school my love.” He rolls over with his eyes still closed.
“Do I have to?”
“Yes.” I giggle. “You do. Now up. There are pancakes downstairs waiting before we go.” I kiss him one more time and get him up and dressed.
Walking down the stairs, my stomach does a little churning. Ever since we got home, Colton has been a bit distant. Don’t get me wrong, he hasn’t exactly been ignoring us or anything, but he hasn’t been himself either. I can’t help but feel like maybe the time we spent away from him, he realized he didn’t want all of this.
Every time that thought crosses my mind, I remember how he made love to me the night we got back. Telling me how much he missed me and that I couldn’t leave him again. Remembering that, I feel silly. But then, what is it? Is it work? Maybe he is missing Andy. He hasn’t spoken with her since the night of the party and I would be lying if I didn’t admit that I harbor some guilt for coming between friends.
I have tried talking to him about it,
but it's no use. I also know he hasn’t talked to his parents or his sister and that is more than concerning. I want to know what is bothering him, but hell if I want to seem like the whiny fiancée and ask.
“Where did Colton go?” Cole’s question breaks me out of my head. I look around the kitchen and see everything set out for us, but no man.
“I am not sure sweetheart. Maybe he had to go into work early. Well, let’s eat and get you to school.” I try to hide my hurt and disappointment.
Cole and I spend breakfast talking about the fun he had in Wyoming. It is much like what we have been doing since we left the ranch. Being there, surrounded by all the animals and my siblings has really helped him to come out of his shell.
After dropping him off and ensuring his teacher I am ok with filling in for one of the moms who was supposed to run the bake sale this Friday. Then I go grocery shopping for dinner.
Bzzzz.
“Hey Fae. What’s going on?”
“Oh nothing. Had my 38 weeks checkup and Ren is freaking out because I am dilated two centimeters.”
“WHAT!!! Is it time? What do you need me to do?”
“Oh Lord, not you too. Calm down Kea. The doctor said it is totally fine if I go in labor a couple of weeks early. I was calling to see how motherhood is treating you. I have to say it put tears in my eyes to see you interacting with Cole in Wyoming. I am so happy for you.”
“Thank you, Fae. Coming from you that means more than you know. You have always been sort of the surrogate mom for us girls.”
“Stop it. I love you.”
