Bad in Bed

Her throat squeezed and her pulse quickened. Was it possible for a heart to leap from its confines? If so, hers was dangerously in peril of landing at his feet. Was there anything more wonderful than looking into the eyes of the man you loved and knowing he loved you right back?

Amber wrapped her arms around his neck. “Looks like you have some serious catching up to do. I’m already at the three quarters mark.”

He smiled, dropped his mouth to hers for a shatteringly lovely kiss. “Why don’t we try for the full hundred percent together? I reckon I should reach it by the time this lift starts moving again.”

She laughed. “Too late. It was that last kiss that did it for me. You’d better get this lift moving so you can catch up.”

He took the opportunity to steal another kiss, before reaching out to the panel. “I’m getting well practiced at this.”

  “At what.”

“Starting stalled elevators. Stopping them too, come to that.” When her eyes narrowed, he grinned. “The first time, you didn’t see me do it.”

“The first time? You stopped the elevator?” She stayed his arm as he went to press the button. “Ethan?”

He linked their outstretched fingers. “Hung around in the lobby for the best part of a week, trying to figure out how to get your attention.”

“Really?” Her insides did a happy dance. “Why didn’t you just say hello, or do something less drastic than climbing into the elevator shaft and risking life and limb?”

“Seemed like a good idea at the time.”

“I also recall you talked me out of my stockings.”

He grinned. “Most definitely a good idea at the time.”

She pulled him in for a long hot kiss which left them both struggling for air. “Next time you have a desire for the dramatic, perhaps you could warn me first.”

“Now where’s the fun in that?” He squeezed her ass. “But speaking of fun—”

Because her hormones didn’t seem intent on settling down anytime soon, Amber slapped him playfully on the shoulder. “You’d better get this lift moving, handsome, before they send in the cavalry.”

He winked and gave her that crooked smile. “Cavalry’s already here, green eyes.”

Yes, she thought, as she moved willingly into his arms again. Wasn’t that the truth?
