Not Her Daddy

by Darcy Dawes

“But what if I want you to be bad, Natalie?” I growled, pressing my body against hers in order to whisper into her ear. I brought my hands around to fondle her breasts and circle her clit as I continued rubbing my cock against her ass; her fingers clawed helplessly at my shirt.

“You want my clothes off, huh? How about you take them off for me, Natalie?”

I moved away from her, kneeling up until she did the same. She was shaking—trembling—and hardly able to support her own weight. Her dress was hanging around her waist. Once my clothes were off I’d untie her and get rid of the damned material.

“This is hard,” Natalie complained as she fumbled with the buttons of my shirt with her hands behind her back. “If you would just untie me…”

“And have you touching things I haven’t given you permission to touch?” I slid my cock between her legs until it just barely grazed her clit. Natalie whimpered.

“I can’t do it! Please, daddy, I’ll do anything, just untie me!”

It was too much. I couldn’t control myself. I made quick work of the rest of my buttons, hauling off my shirt and then my pants before freeing Natalie of my belt and ripping off her dress entirely. I threw her onto her back; my cock was in her before she had a chance to utter another word.

“Is this what you wanted, baby?” I growled; Natalie bit back a scream as I pulled the entire length of me out of her pussy only to slam it back into her right to the hilt. Her back arched, pressing her body even closer to mine. “Is this what you wanted? To drive me so insane I have to fuck you until you beg for me to stop?”

There were tears in her eyes. “Don’t stop even if I beg. Please, daddy, don’t stop. How will I learn if you stop?”

I stared at her in wonder. She was too good at this. No—we were too good at this. We fit too well.

“Natalie, I—” I began, but I didn’t know what to say. I reached down and kissed her, those damnable lips of hers hot and wet and hungry for me as my tongue slipped into her mouth even as my cock continued sliding in and out of her eager, tight pussy.

“You feel so good,” she whimpered against my lips. “So good. Please, give me more. Make me come. Make me come so hard I won’t want anyone else to fuck me ever again.”

“Don’t talk to me about the boys you thought could satisfy you before,” I growled dangerously. “Only I can satisfy you. Isn’t that right, baby girl?”

I reached down and fingered her clit, so slick and slippery against my fingertips that it was all too easy to send Natalie right to the edge. My cock twitched. I knew I was just as close to orgasm as she was.

“Only you!” she cried, wrapping her legs around my waist in her desperation to get closer to me. Her hands raked across my back, sending delicious waves of pain right down my spine. “Unravel me, please. Make me yours.”

With one final kiss I rammed my cock so violently into Natalie that her whole body shuddered, and her pussy clenched against me. My fingers moved faster and faster against her clit until Natalie screamed onto her pillow, gasping and panting in pleasure as I came explosively inside her a few seconds later.

I collapsed beside her on the bed, not daring to move. Not daring to say anything, lest it might break whatever madness had taken over our bodies during the last hour.

“That was…” Natalie uttered softly a few minutes later.

“The best fuck of my life,” I finished for her, which was true. I couldn’t believe it, but it was true.

She smiled at me in a hazy, satisfied way.

“Wyatt’s not back until tomorrow night,” she said. “Care to continue teaching me some manners for the rest of the weekend?”

I couldn’t speak, merely nod in numb response. There was one thing I knew for sure.

When I bought Rafe Forbes’ new book, I sure as hell needed to get it signed.

  Chapter Eight

  Natalie

“Natalie, is that your phone that’s vibrating?”

I glanced over at Dan, then over at my phone on the kitchen countertop; I hadn’t heard it over Wyatt’s excited tale of the frogs he’d found in the back yard that very morning. I’d found them with him, of course, but that didn’t mean he didn’t want to tell me about them anyway.

I reached for the device—my mom was calling me.

“Is it okay if you watch Wyatt for a moment, Daniel? It’s my mom.”

He smiled and nodded, then came over and sat beside his nephew while the two of them finished breakfast. “Take your time,” he said. “I’m in no rush to get to the office this morning.”

Mouthing a silent thanks I padded through to the living room and closed the door before answering the call.

“Hey, Mom,” I said, collapsing onto one of the recliner armchairs and pulling out the footrest, “it’s not like you to call so early.”

“Sorry, honey, I know you’re busy working. It’s just that this couldn’t wait.” She sounded tired and—resigned. My mom was always tired—that wasn’t anything new—but it was the resigned part bothered me.

“Is it Dean?” I asked, immediately on edge. “It is, isn’t it? What’s happened?”

My mother sighed. “He hasn’t been doing too well the past few weeks, Natalie. That last bout of chemo really took it out of him. I’m afraid…”

  “Don’t you dare say it.”

“Honey, we have to be realistic,” she pleaded. “We don’t have any money left. There’s only so much more of these treatments we can afford—and there’s only so much we can expect Dean to put up with, mentally and physically. He’s had to deal with this for almost ten years now.”

My brother was seventeen. He was supposed to be going to college next year, leukemia be damned. He’d worked so hard to get this far. To imagine him not reaching graduation was…heartbreaking. Unthinkable.

I gulped down a sob. “Is the money I’ve been transferring you from my job not enough to help, mom? Do I need to find a second—”

“Don’t you dare find a second job, Natalie!” my mom cut in. “You’re stretched enough as-is. I feel ashamed even accepting any money from you.”

“Don’t be, Mom. You know I’d do anything for Dean.”

“I know, honey.” She sighed. “Which is why I’m calling. I think…Natalie, I think it would be better for all of us if you just came home for the rest of summer. We miss you, and I could do with the help. And…I think spending time with Dean would mean so much more to him that trying to chip away financially at the cost of medical bills that are only getting more expensive.”

I froze. Leave Daniel and Wyatt? I—

“I know you’re really attached to your job,” my mom pressed on. “Wyatt sounds like a wonderful kid, and his uncle clearly looks after you.” I flinched at the remark; Daniel was doing more than looking after me. But I could hardly tell my mom that, of all people.

I didn’t respond for a few seconds. I didn’t want to leave the Farthings—especially not after what had happened between me and Daniel a mere three days prior. The hours spent in his bed were still fresh in my mind, reminding me that I was eager to spend even more time there.

But it was no contest. I knew it. Dean and my mom were the most important people in the world to me…I just didn’t know how to broach the subject with Daniel.

Sighing, I said, “Of course I’ll come home, if you’re sure that’s what would be best. I might need a week or two to serve some notice.”

I could tell my mom was smiling even without seeing her face. “Thank you, Natalie. Let me know as soon as you can when to expect you back—we can come pick you up! Lord knows it’s been a while since Dean’s been out of the house for any length of time.”

“Of course.” I glanced around the living room of a house I now practically considered my own home, though I’d only been there a month. “I better go, Mom. Daniel needs to leave for work, so I shouldn’t stay on the phone any longer.”

  “Okay, honey. I love you.”

  “Love you too.”

  Wi
th a click I hung up the phone. I felt so much heavier than I had done when I’d woken up. How could it have been that I got so entangled in my summer job that I’d forgotten about the realities of my own life? Suddenly I felt very, very guilty.

When I walked back through to the kitchen Daniel grinned at me, though his smile faltered when he saw my face.

  “Something wrong, Nat? What’s up?”

I waved the question away. “Oh, nothing. Mom was just wanting to complain about her boyfriend.” I laughed softly, hoping that would be enough to cover my trail for now. I couldn’t tell Daniel about my family situation—not right now. Not when he was meant to leave for work in two minutes and he was in such a good mood.

Dan didn’t look entirely convinced but he didn’t say anything to the contrary, either. With a final gulp he finished his coffee, put down his newspaper and ruffled Wyatt’s hair.

“Right, kiddo. Go upstairs and brush your teeth. I know you’re big enough now to do it on your own.”

Wyatt rolled his eyes, which was adorable because he was five.

“Obviously I’m big enough to brush my teeth, Uncle Dan. I’m not a baby.”

I snorted in laughter; Wyatt really was a funny kid. When he got out of his chair and passed me he asked, “Can we go to the beach today, Nat-Nat?”

“The beach?” I stared at him incredulously. “That’s—a while away. Why don’t we go at the weekend, when your uncle is free, too? We could all go together.”

His eyes light up. “Hooray! Can I get a dinosaur float? Can I? Can I? Can I?”

“Be a good boy for Nat and we’ll see,” Daniel said, kissing the top of the boy’s head before pushing him up the stairs. I made to follow him, but Dan held onto my wrist and kept me back.

“Where are your manners, Natalie?” he asked, voice low as he held me close. I gazed up at his face, wondering how on earth I could break it to him that I was leaving when I sorely didn’t want to.

With smiling lips I reached up and kissed his, as chastely as if it were my very first kiss.

  “Have a good day, Daniel.”

He quirked an eyebrow. “Maybe if you tire Wyatt out enough today he’ll zonk out early tonight and I won’t have to be an uncle for the evening.”

My face flushed immediately. “I—will see what I can do,” I stammered, biting my lip in the process.

Then Daniel looked away, chuckling softly. “I can’t cope with you looking at me like that so early in the day. It feels like a cardinal sin to be thinking of fucking you by the front door before my morning coffee has even hit my brain yet.”

I kissed him again. “I guess you’ll just have to punish me for daring to look at you so filthily later, then.”

Dan’s eyes flashed with excitement at the promise, then, with a look of regret at having to leave, he opened the front door and walked to his car without another glance in my direction. But when he sat down in his car, I risked slipping my camisole top down, exposing my breasts despite the fact anybody walking by could have seen me. I ran my fingers over my nipples, pinching them slightly as Dan stared at me, transfixed.

When he mouthed the word fuck I grinned, pulled my top back up and closed the door.

I could have a couple more day with Daniel like this. I needed them.

Then I would leave him and Wyatt behind, though my heart hurt unbearably at the thought. But they weren’t my family, no matter how much they were beginning to feel like it. I had a family, and they needed me.

And I needed to be there for them…before it was too late.

  Chapter Nine

  Daniel

Something was off about Natalie. She was quieter. More reserved. Ever since that call with her mom she’d been a little distant.

A sick, lurching feeling in my stomach told me that it was my fault.

Did she tell her mom about us, and her mom got mad? Or did talking to her family make her realize she was wasting her time with a man old enough to be her father? Or did she just realize it was a mistake anyway and—

  “Daniel?”

I turned and saw Natalie watching me with a carefully-constructed expression. Clearly she was preparing to talk to me about something serious.

I don’t get it, I thought. It’s not like we only slept together that first weekend. We’ve done it a couple more times since then, even after that call from her mom. What’s going on?

I forced a smile on my face. “Is there something wrong, Nat?”

She glanced around to make sure Wyatt wasn’t in earshot, then sat down on the couch beside me. “I…have something to tell you.”

  Oh, here goes.

Natalie twisted her hands in her lap uncomfortably. “Dan, when I told you I was working to save money for college I was…only being partially honest.”

I straightened up immediately. That wasn’t what I’d expected Natalie to say at all.

“Have you got some seedy underworld debt you need to pay off that you haven’t told me about?” I joked, though I was genuinely worried that it was a possibility. “You aren’t in trouble, are you?”

Natalie opened and closed her mouth wordlessly for a few moments; I had to resist the urge to kiss her. She tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear.

“Yes and no,” she said eventually. “It’s not really me who’s in trouble. It’s…”

“A boyfriend?” I said before I could stop myself. Of course Natalie had a boyfriend. She’d been too good in bed for her own good. I was crazy to have grown so attached to her. I felt ridiculous—

“Oh my god, no!” she exclaimed in disgust. She narrowed her eyes. “What do you take me for, Dan? You really think I’d have slept with you if I had a boyfriend, let alone one who was in trouble? Seriously?”

I shook my head as relief washed over me. “Sorry. That was wrong of me. I just…jumped to conclusions.”

“Nice to know your conclusions involve not trusting me.”

“If I truly didn’t trust you I’d never have let you near my nephew, Natalie.” This was true, even though I had originally joked that Wyatt’s nanny could be a monster just so long as they were good with kids.

Natalie’s face softened. She ran a hand through her lovely hair. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to snap. It’s just…”

“Nat, it’s okay,” I urged. “Just tell me. Just tell me.”

For a moment it looked like she wouldn’t. Her gaze was on her hands, her shoulders hunched.

“I can’t work for you anymore,” she said flatly. “I’m sorry about the short notice.”

  “I—what? Natalie?”

  “I quit. I’m leaving tonight. I—”

“Natalie, what’s all this about?” I asked, panic-stricken. “If this is because you don’t want us to sleep together anymore then—that’s fine, it’s done! We can go back to being—”

“It’s not about that at all,” she cut in. Her eyes were too bright—clearly she was upset.

I was beyond confused. “Then…why do you need to leave so quickly?”

She looked away. “My brother, Dean. He’s only seventeen. He was diagnosed with leukemia when he was a kid. It was in remission for a few years but it came back pretty aggressively in spring. Chemotherapy doesn’t seem to be doing the trick anymore, and it’s getting too expensive…and all other forms of treatment are even more expensive that chemo. It’s wiped out all my mom’s savings, and her insurance won’t cover any medical expenses anymore.”

“I took this job to help her cover his medical bills,” she explained. “But all we’re doing is chipping away at a mountain. She said—” Natalie paused, trying her best to hold back a sob. “She said on the phone that we have to be realistic. That Dean only has so much time left. She asked me to come home, so we could spend time together as a family. And that’s what I’m going to do.”

I didn’t know what to say. What could I say? Natalie had been going through so much and she hadn’t spoken a word of it to me. All this time, I’d been obsessing over undressing Na
talie, scolding Natalie, screwing Natalie, when she’d had much more important things to think about. For all I knew I’d been a welcome distraction to her, and nothing more.

But this wasn’t about me, it was about her.

“Natalie, I’m so sorry,” I murmured, reaching out to take her hand. “I really am. I wish you’d told me about this earlier.”

I should have asked her more about herself earlier. She knows so much about me already and I never thought to push her for more information about her life. I’m so self-centered.

She gave me a sad smile. “It wasn’t your responsibility to know such things,” she said. “And you have Wyatt to worry about, and your sister. Why would I burden you with my problems?”

  “Because I—”

I couldn’t say it. What if she rejected me? What if Natalie baulked at the prospect of a nearly forty-year-old man saying that he loved her? Especially when she was feeling so vulnerable. No, it would be wrong of me to push my feelings on her. Despicable, even.

I sighed. “Let me help, Nat.”

  She frowned. “Help?”

“You said your brother’s chemo wasn’t working well anymore. What would be the best option for him?”

“A—a bone marrow transplant, of course, but the waiting list is long and to get a private donor is well beyond anything we could ever afford.”

“So let me pay for it.”

  “…huh?”

I squeezed her hand earnestly. “Let me fund a private bone marrow transplant. I have the money for it, and I’m not using it for anything. I’d be more than happy to—”

  “No.”

Natalie’s eyes were hard as she stared at me. She pulled her hand away from mine.

I hesitated before asking, “Why not? That way you and your mom don’t have to worry about money, and you wouldn’t have to leave.”

I realized it was the wrong thing to say as soon as I said it. Natalie stood up as she blinked back furious tears.

“Is that what my problem is to you? Something you can throw money at just to keep me here? Does my brother’s wellbeing or me wanting to be with him mean so little to you compared to having me around for the sake of living out a fantasy?”
