To Zoe York for inviting me into her Creating a Marketable Series workshop when I had barely put the first few words on the page. Her exercises helped me develop One Last Risk not just as an individual stand-alone novel (which is is), but enabled me to create a world and characters that readers want to come back and visit again and again.
To Maggie Blackbird… critique partner isn’t a fitting enough title for her. She offered to read and critique a book for me at just the right time. She pointed me toward resources to read and research to improve my writing and went through One Last Risk chapter by chapter with me to improve it and make Sarah and Lucas’s story leap off the page. I cannot begin to repay the hours she has spent helping this new author get her feet underneath her.
To Tessa Layne and Jennifer Estes, early critique partners who were gentle with their words for my fragile heart with my first characters. To Jody Henley for lending a professional eye with a developmental edit - you can thank her for removing a lot of the bloat of my early drafts! Amanda Kelsey with Razzle Dazzle Designs designed my beautiful first cover and gave me an image to focus on when Lucas and Sarah wouldn’t behave!!
I wouldn’t be where I am in my writing career without the wonderful ladies and gentlemen on Romance Divas. They are there to give me feedback, turn me around when I’m headed in the wrong direction, and celebrate successes with me.
