"Hey, …man. She asked me first."

“I apologize. Maybe…later?” He nods. I smile. “Thank you.”

He steps away, and I glance up at Ryker. We stare at each other for so long I forget we're standing in the middle of the floor.

“I thought that was you.” I can’t hear him over the music, but I read his lips.

  “Hard to recognize, huh?”

He shakes his head, "I'd recognize those eyes anywhere." He traces a finger down my cheek until it feathers across my lips. My eyes slide closed, and when my eyes open again, they cling to the desire I see.

I imagine this is how it feels to melt as he steps closer. Heat covers my skin, and fire burns my fear of stuttering or saying the wrong thing. His head lowers, and I lick my lips in anticipation. A smile flickers on his lips before I proceed to turn into a puddle of mush in his arms.

His kiss pushes every thought from my mind. I dreamed of this, and the passionate strokes of his tongue against mine are ten times better. His arm holds me tight, and I rest in the strength of his embrace positive I've found a patch of heaven.

  “Ryker.”

The sound cuts through the noise of the party around us. But Ryker's in no hurry to cut this kiss short, and neither am I.

  “Ryker.”

I move to break the kiss and see who’s calling him.

"Not yet, princess," he whispers across my lips before he slips the tip of my tongue into his warm mouth. I moan, surrendering to the fire in my soul only for Ryker Colin.

“I’m a fairy,” I counter trying to gain control of my wits. The man can kiss like nobody’s business. I’m hot and cold and horny and remember someone called his name, and it wasn’t me.

Ryker runs a finger over my wing and smiles. “Pink compliments your skin, but I almost didn’t recognize you….”

  “Without my black attire…”

“No.” He stares into my eyes. “With your beautiful hair covered up. How did you do it?”

  My heart skips.

“It’s…” I take a deep breath to keep from stuttering over my words. “It’s…magic.”

“Magic?” I nod as he twists the pink hair between his fingers.

  “Ryker!”

His smile takes on an unpleasant twist before glancing over his shoulder. A woman with auburn hair and possessive brown eyes waits for his response. I move to release his hold on me. His eyes sweep back to me.

  “I didn’t…” I exhale in frustration. He’s with a date. “You’re not alone.”

“She’s my assistant.” A twinge of impatience lingers in his voice.

"That's a new one." I wipe black lipstick from his tan skin before peeling his arms from around my waist. I turn, trying to remember the tune to make it back across the room.

Toe-heel… I stumble, and Ryker catches me before I hit the floor. He's trying to fix my skirt, and his hand brushes my bare skin, causing me to tumble the rest of the way to the ground.

“Don’t touch me.” I smack his hand away.

  “Where are your panties?”

"Where is your girlfriend? I mean, …assistant.” I yank off the damn heels and look for a way of escape.

  “Jordan.”

I roll over, ignoring him and pop to my feet, careful not to flash the people around me. I trip forward, stumbling farther into the crowd.

  “Jordan.”

I glance over my shoulder, and he's moving faster, causing people to clear a path. The guy from earlier is in view, and he notices me heading in his direction.

  “Ready?” I grab his arm.

“What about your man?” He points to the tower of a man two steps away.

Ryker stops. His face is red, and his piercing gaze is deadly. My substitute dance partner takes a single glance at Ryker and leaves me alone, sort of, with Ryker.

The people around us magically disappear. He takes several steps forward, and I take several steps back. His arms grip the edge of the bar on either side of my body.

I can’t look at him as his chest rises and falls rapidly.

"Jordan, honey, are you okay?” It’s Harper. I can’t see her around this towering presence.

His mouth drops to my ear. “There’s no reason to run from me.”

  "Yes…" I swallow. "I'm fine, Harper."

  “Liam and I are here.”

I smile, turning toward her voice only to find Ryker's lips.

“I’ll be back to get you in twenty minutes.”

Goosebumps cover my skin. The possessive tone in his voice challenges my will to fight.

  “What about—”

His lips crush against mine in an unspoken request. “Twenty minutes.”

  “Nineteen and counting.”

“You’re not serious?” Sarah turns in the seat beside me.

I obey every traffic signal, pushing the speedometer, ensuring my time doesn't expire. The tick of the clock in my head keeps the cadence of my breathing regulated. It keeps me from questioning Sarah's behavior in the club.

"Whatever you're thinking…don't." My gaze darts to the digital clock on the dash and over at Sarah. She drops back to the seat, crossing her arms.

I pull into the company garage stopping beside her car. It’s the only one left on the floor.

  “Ryker.”

  “Goodnight, Sarah. Drive safely.”

"Fine." She climbs out, slamming the door. Her steps drag crossing the short distance.

I pop the gear into reverse and position my car as if to leave, and she picks up her pace. I wait until she exits the garage, and I break every law to make it back to The Dungeon. I'm changing lanes and speeding like a man possessed by a fairy.

How did the tables turn? I start the night questioning Erik to chasing Jordan like a dog in heat.

I’m ten minutes late. I skid to a stop sending smoke from my tires. I double park popping on my hazards. I run to the door as a pink fairy exits the club.

  “Jordan, I’ll take you home.”

“You’re late.” She glances around me crossing her arms.

“I’m double parked.” I reach out my hand.

Jordan turns back and hugs the woman. The man waiting walks toward me.

  “Liam Walsh.”

  "Ryker Colin." We shake hands.

"Ryker, my wife loves Jordan like a sister." I glance over at his wife, acknowledging her. "Please don't make me regret trusting you with her."

  “X and Ryann are friends.”

“But tonight, she’s on my watch.”

I appreciate his concern, but it's unfounded. However, I've had time to observe "the guys" as they call themselves. At first, I found it intriguing watching Ryann with her friends after experiencing her under formal conditions at the law firm. It's a sisterhood, much like my relationship with Erik.

  “You have my word.”

Liam walks back to Jordan and gives her a hug. He whispers something to her.

  “Love you guys.”

“Don’t forget to text me,” the woman calls out.

  “I will.”

I reach for Jordan’s shoes and surprise her when I pull her up into my arms. We don’t talk as I take her back to my car. I exhale satisfied to have her with me, alone, for the first time.

I turn off my hazards, checking my mirrors. “Where am I taking you?”

  “Your place.”

  Chapter 4

  “Welcome to my home.”

We rode in silence. I drop Jordan's shoes on the floor and lock the door behind us. She turns around, walking backward. She stops, and her eyes roam my body. I openly do the same.

Jordan is slim with a mouthful of breast and a handful of ass. The shape of her costume gives me a good view of her trim waist and the length of her tone legs. A thought halts my visual tour—she's probably naked beneath that thin pink fabric.

My cock swells, and her eyes drop to the front of my pants.

  “Can I get you anything?”

She shakes her head. Why did I have to remember her lack of panties, ri
ght now? I want her, but the energy between us makes me question whether we should cross that line. This energy is nothing like I've experienced before.

But nothing about tonight or Jordan Cole is normal.

I expected a regular dinner with Erik, and he drops a political campaign in my lap. I expected a simple pop in appearance at X's Halloween party, and I leave with Jordan. I expected a night alone with client files, and the woman I’ve tried to figure out is beneath my roof.

“Are you this quiet with everyone?” I grab the back of my neck and close the space between us.

"You make me nervous." She twists a little, reaching for her wings.

“Here, let me help you with that. Turn on the light so I can see.” She reaches for the lamp on the hallway table. I inspect the handiwork and see a few safety pins. I go to work and use this moment to satisfy my curiosity. “Why do I make you nervous?”

She peers over her shoulder, and our eyes hold. "I'm still trying to figure it out," escapes in a whisper.

“What do you need to know to make you comfortable?” I trace a path down the side of her neck.

Her eyes flutter closed. "I'm not uncomfortable."

  "But, you're nervous?”

“Yes." She smiles, and I'm confused. "There's something about the energy between us."

"I wondered if it was just me," I confess, noticing for the first time that her smooth brown skin is void of its usual artwork. "What happened to your tats?"

  “There underneath the makeup.”

“Makeup?" I remove the lampshade, and I can't see anything. "So, what changed tonight?" I reach for the light and turn it off. We walk in sync until her back is against the wall.

"Halloween." She shrugs, running a finger down the buttons of my shirt. "And my willingness to try something different."

I run my hands up the sides of her legs until I reach the hem of her very short skirt. Her eyes dip closed, and I continue my journey until my hands start to roam her bare ass. Her skin feels better than silk. I squeeze, and she moans.

I push the skirt to her waist and lower until I'm level with the apex of her thighs. I glance up. "And how does the pink hair and wings enter the equation?"

“I wanted to get your attention.” Her big brown eyes are dark with desire.

  "Well, princess, you got it."

I drape one leg over my shoulder, then the other. I inhale the scent of her sweet pussy, unable to resist the urge to taste her.

My legs are spread wide, and Ryker passes a bold swipe of his tongue. I press the palms of my hands against the wall, bracing myself for the assault he wages. He works me. I gather my breast squeezing my tits the way he's squeezing my ass.

“Ryker…" The vibration humming through my body competes with the echo of my cries for release. I'm climbing the wall, and his mouth is following me.

"Why didn't you tell me?" His hoarse question is lost in the sweet heat he's invoking. "Why, Jordan?"

"Ryker, I'm about to…" I see stars, and the dragon who resides in me is awakened. Heat covers my flesh as a streak of lightning bolts through my body. I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror, and I can't hold out any longer. I scream, releasing the pressure, bucking and riding the wave thankful for his strong hands cupped around my thighs.

He lowers me to his lap. “What the fuck was that?”

“What?” My cheeks burn with embarrassment, I can’t meet his gaze. “It’s been a while.”

"Nah, princess, your pussy tastes sweet and smooth like mousse au chocolat." His mouth covers my nipple, and I'm speechless.

I'm a hypersexual person with the right man causing my body to become a ball of sexual energy. Admitting this is what freaks men out. So, I can't tell Ryker and risk running him off. Not after I've waited so long to have him. I cradle his head, running my hands through his thick hair as he feasts on me.

"Ryker, you have to let me shower, or we'll have makeup all over your walls." I pull back his face.

"I don't care, but I'd rather have you in my bed."

We enter my bathroom, and I turn on the floor heaters. I lower her feet to the rug and start the shower.

“Do you mind?” She points to the mirror.

  “No, use whatever you need.”

Jordan walks to the mirror and removes the pink wig. I stare in shock.

"What?" She laughs, pulling off a cap, and I see her hair.

"I knew it was a wig, but…" I reach for her hair. Her eyes round, and I pull my hand back. "Can I touch it?"

  “Yes.”

Our eyes hold in the mirror, and I reach for her hair. "Your hair is probably the third thing that stood out to me."

  “You have a list.”

"It's how I process things." I shrug. I'm talking too much. I comb my fingers through her hair until the individual locks start to tumble, falling to her waist. I squeeze a handful and bring them to my nose. "Your hair smells amazing."

"Stop." She covers her smile, and I take a deep inhale. "Tell me number two."

“Your tattoos.” Her soft gasp tells me my response caught her by surprise. But seeing the color etched across her skin makes me want to explore every inch of her body.

  “And one?”

"Your eyes." I step closer, kissing her shoulder. I watch her for a moment. I tell Jordan it's her eyes, but there's something about the way she listens. Really listens.

In my profession, most people listen to respond, picking apart every word. Not Jordan. Her eyes hold no judgment, no pretense. Her eyes hold a level of absolute wonder.

The steam of the shower fills the room. She turns around facing me, and I undress her. The skirt and tulle attachment. The pink halter. She doesn't rush to cover her body. I reach for the piercing through her nipple. I caress it until a moan escapes.

“Do you always leave the house without panties?”

Her head falls back, and laughter spills out. "I hate them."

  “Panties?”

She covers her mouth again, and I pull her hands aside. Her laugh sounds like pure joy.

"So, you mean to tell me every time I've seen you, you've been commando?" She nods, and it's my turn to groan. "You shouldn't tell me things like that."

  “Why?”

“Because I’ll think about mousse au chocolat.”

  “And that’s a bad thing?”

“It depends…” My voice trails off the moment she sweeps her hair to the side. The dreadlocks cascade over her shoulder as she steps into the shower.

I sit on the edge of the tub. Jordan rubs the bar of soap between her hand with her eyes on me. This is the kinkiest form of foreplay, as her hand caresses and travels the length of her perfect body. Slowly the colored ink is revealed.

I walk over to the glass, unable to sit any longer. Jordan stands under the stream of water, and I watch the suds roll down the valley of her breast, the smooth skin over her flat stomach, and when she turns, my breath catches.

I unbutton my shirt as I observe the intricate dragon tatted on her body. The fearless beauty stares into my eyes, mouth open, fangs exposed. Its body winds and turns down Jordan’s right side until the tail travels across her lower back ending on her left hip.

But the details are best viewed up close. I join her in the shower turning on the second showerhead. I let the water run through my hair and down my body.

  “Jordan, how old are you?”

She turns to face me, and I notice the little stars and moons running down the side of her neck. “Twenty-four and you?”

“Thirty-nine. I’m probably near your father’s age. Does that bother you?”

“My father made sixty last year. And no, it doesn’t bother me. What about you?”

I step closer and run my fingers across her shoulder. Her hand claps around my arm, stopping me.

  “You have a dragon too.”

“I’ve always been fond of them.” I follow the star and moons until I reach the dragon. They’re nearly identical. My dragon winds up my forearm to my shoulder.
What are the chances that we’d have twin dragons?”

I let my kisses taste her moons and stars.

  “It would explain a lot.”

  I stop. “Like what?”

  “That they guided us together.”

I reach for the condom outside the glass door near our towels. She leans against the glass letting her hands roam her body. The squeeze of her breast makes my mouth water, and when her hands crawl south and slip inside her core, I can't put on the condom fast enough.

I turn her over and place her hands against the glass.

“When we’re together, I’ll handle your sweet pussy.”

She glances back with a wicked smile. "Yes, sir."

Jordan spreads her legs, and I enter her, staring into the eyes of her dragon. The grip of her tight core makes me groan in pleasure. I thrust with her body plastered against the glass. The sounds she makes feed my desire to satisfy my insatiable need to claim every inch of her body.

The clouds of steam absorb our whispers and moans. Her orgasm hits us both. Her screams of release have her crawling up the glass, and I growl in total fucking bliss.

I turn her and trace the outline of her lips—swollen by my kisses—with my tongue. “You’re mine, princess.”

  “I know.”

  Chapter 5

My body feels different, I touch where he touched amazed. I stand in the mirror reminiscing about all the ways Ryker handled my body with such care, the way his tongue explored, the ways I’d like an extended repeat of last night.

I drag myself away from the house an hour later. I have a meeting with the guys because somewhere between the shower, the bed, the hallway, the tub, Ryker managed to ask me to attend a meeting with him at six.

The pieces of Ryker and I are forming a recognizable puzzle. Initially, the unmatched chemistry fueled my desire to get closer to him. Then last night, it all made sense the moment I saw his dragon. I don't deal with tarot cards or horoscopes, but I've always had a fondness for dragons.

Ryker’s body is lean with natural muscle. The colorful dragon flying up his left arm rivals the best work I’ve seen. My hand aches to touch him again. I groan in my car alone.
