  “You love us?” Mace and Reece asked. Lexy grinned then laughed at her mates.

  “Is that all you heard from my speech?” Lexy asked as she laughed. Mace and Reece both were grinning. “Both of you have succeeded in your quest to win my heart,” Lexy whispered. She squeezed back down between them and snuggled in. She closed her eyes, enjoying the quiet and feeling secure between her mates.

  Mace and Reece waited until they knew Lexy was in a deep sleep before they spoke to each other.

  “I need to call Damen to see if they caught the little fucker,” Mace whispered, trying not to wake Lexy up.

  Reece gritted his teeth, thinking about Cain Holliday. “I hope so because if not then we will need to find him and kill him. It’s our way. He hurt our mate, Mace. I won’t let that slide,” Reece said with anger in his voice.

  Mace put his hand on Reece’s shoulder staring in his eyes. “Don’t worry. We won’t.”

  Chapter Nineteen

  Lexy’s eyes fluttered open. She looked over but Mace wasn’t in bed. She looked over at Reece who was watching her. “Good morning, sleepyhead.”

  Lexy propped herself on her elbow and looked over at the clock. “Morning, oh my, I’ve overslept. I’ve got to get up or Adrianna is going to fire me.”

  “Hold on, my love. Adrianna called and wants you to take the day off to rest. She said that she is taking the day off, too, because her feet are killing her and the babies are kicking. So she said don’t worry about it and to have a great weekend,” Reece said.

  Lexy looked surprised. “You don’t think she is mad at me, do you?”

  “No, baby, she isn’t mad at you. She was worried about you yesterday as were all of us.” Lexy and Reece looked at each other smiling as they heard a pot being thrown into the sink and Mace cussing, “Shit, shit, shit.” “Now I hear Mace trying to cook in the kitchen, which I hear is a scary process, but I do smell something burning so we may not get anything to eat.” Lexy kissed Reece on the mouth then tried to get up. “Hey, today is a day for us, and after we eat, we are going to pick up my sister. She has already called twice and texted me, too.”

  “Oh good, I can’t wait to spend some more time with her,” Lexy said smiling.

  “We can’t find the little fucker anywhere, Mace. It’s like he fell off the face of the earth. His parents aren’t giving any news of his whereabouts either. They say he came to see his mom then left to go back to New York. I told Malcolm Holliday that his time was up and to get the fuck out of our town,” Damen advised.

  “You checked our—” Mace didn’t get to finish as Damen sighed, interrupting Mace. “You know I did, Mace, I called the Beta in New York. They have checked for him. Nobody has seen him in two months. They want to find this guy just like us, especially when I told them what he did to your mate.”

  “I’m sorry, Damen. I know you are rolling the rocks over looking for him. It’s just...”

  “Alpha, don’t sweat it. I know. Well I don’t know but I can only imagine what you and Reece are going through. Plus we love Lexy, too,” Damen said.

  “Yeah, it’s hard right now. I have this fear that something is going to happen. I can’t sleep and hey, I’ve got to go, I hear Lexy getting up. Keep me posted,” Mace said.

  “Absolutely, Alpha,” Mace heard Damen say right before he hung up the phone. Mace turned around as Lexy appeared in the doorway.

  “Hey, beautiful. How did you sleep?” he asked.

  “Great, but I missed you being in there with us.” Lexy walked over to Mace and hugged him closely, breathing in his masculine scent. Mace always smelled like the outdoors.

  “Well we can’t have that. I just wanted to cook for you. I knew you would be starving,” said Mace.

  Lexy sniffed the air.

  “Yum, I smell bacon,” she said.

  “Well, pretty girl, you are in luck. Ta da.” Mace pulled the plate of bacon out of the microwave.

  Lexy clapped as she sat at the bar. Mace pulled out scrambled eggs and toast.

  “I’m sorry to say that this was all that survived. The rest is dead in the trash.” Mace gestured at the trashcan.

  Lexy burst out laughing. “Reece said that you couldn’t cook.”

  “Well I can’t, but I can grill and, baby, you will eat your fingers off when you taste my ribs,” Mace said with a wink.

  “Yummy. They are a favorite food of mine, you know.” Mace smiled as he fixed Lexy’s plate. Her plate looked like a volcano. “Hey, I can’t eat all that. Here let me fix mine and you eat that one.” Lexy switched her and Mace’s plate. Reece came into the room wearing nothing but a towel wrapped around him.

  “Did you save me some? I’m starved,” Reece said.

  “Yep, he made plenty. Come sit by me.” Lexy pulled the chair closer to her. Reece plopped down in the chair beside Lexy as Mace pushed a plate full of food over to Reece.

  “Are we still going to get Star and bring her to my house so she can look around and get used to it?” Mace asked between bites.

  “That’s the plan,” Reece said as he chewed his food. Lexy grinned at Reece who was talking with his mouth full.

  Lexy knew Mace was trying to keep any news about Cain away from her, but the only way they were going to get through this was together. Lexy watched as Mace stopped eating and looked as if he was off in a dream. His eyes looked funny and glazed over.

  “Mace, are you okay?” Lexy asked as Mace shook his head trying to clear it from his head.

  “Umm, yeah. I need to tell you both something.” Reece and Lexy both waited for Mace to talk.

  “I have visions. It seems that when I met you two the visions started. I can’t control them, but I need to tell you about them. Because if anything happens to you.” Mace grabbed Lexy’s hand. Reece became worried now and got up from his seat.

  “What kind of visions?” Lexy asked.

  “Well the first vision was about you, Lexy.” Lexy put her hand over her heart.

  “Me…You had visions about me?”

  Mace nodded. “The first one you were walking down a path toward an old farmhouse. A man in a black robe was standing on the porch smiling as you walked toward him. I could feel how you felt and you were terrified of him. The next one was just like what happened yesterday with Reece picking you up from the ground and carrying you inside. He was telling you to wake up, but you wouldn’t answer. These are dreams of the future and we—”

  “What did the man look like on the porch?” Lexy asked. The color had left her fac
e and the windows started shaking.

  “Lexy, baby calm down,” Reece said as he reached over and touched her arm, immediately stopping the windows from shaking.

  “What did he look like?” Lexy asked again.

  “He had a black wizard robe on and he had blond hair pulled back in a pony tail.”

  Lexy swallowed. “That was Cain Holliday. You described him to a T.” Mace reached over and grabbed Lexy to him.

  “He won’t get you, baby. Reece and I will protect you. I promise.” Mace looked over at Reece as they both held on to their shaking mate. No words passed, but Reece knew what Mace was thinking. When Cain Holliday was found, he would be killed.

  Lexy cleared her throat, pulling away from her mates. “Okay let’s not ruin our day together. He isn’t worth it. Plus I’m not letting him do this to me again. That is a promise.” She smiled up at her mates. Mace and Reece knew she was scared, but they would make sure she was always protected.

  “So what did Damen tell you on the phone?” Lexy asked as she watched Mace’s reaction.

  Mace sighed. She could see the anger cross his face then he quickly masked it.

  “He is gone. His parents said that he came to see his mom then left again. They said that he was going back to New York, but the New York Pack can’t find him either. The last time someone saw him was two months ago.” Mace carefully watched Lexy to see if he could see any fear in her eyes.

  “Well, Cain was always good at making people believe he was hidden. Usually he was close by. Don’t worry, Mace. I’ll find the fucker,” Lexy said then watched as Reece dropped his fork and looked up at her.

  “You will not find him. You will stay the fuck away from him. That fucking wizard tried to kill you, Lexy,” Reece growled.

  Lexy narrowed her eyes at Reece then schooled her expression. “Calm down, Reece, I told you and Mace that together we would get him and make him go away. I don’t plan to put myself in danger, but I do have a talent for finding people. So, my loves, what do you say?”
