“Nothing, baby, except you’re beautiful and when you come, you glow and there is nothing like it.” Lexy smiled then lifted herself up and kissed Mace. It was a soft kiss that only showed him how much she loved him. It was a kiss that said forever to him.

As Mace opened his eyes, she could see the fire burning inside them. She could feel how much as he leaned into her. His erection was poking into the side of her. She reached down and grabbed Mace, rubbing his cock up and down. He closed his eyes, growling, as she picked up the pace. He was right, Lexy knew exactly what that growl meant, and she was more then ready for round two.

“Turn over, baby, now,” Mace growled out, his wolf close to the surface. Lexy was ready and flipped over onto her stomach.

Reece watched as Mace pushed her legs up and told her to get up on her hands and knees.

Lexy had never been in this position before, but instead of feeling embarrassed, she felt liberated since Cain was dead. She could experiment with her mates and felt no judgment from them. For the first time in her life, she felt free and at home with her mates.

Mace couldn’t wait any longer. He needed his mate. So he reached down to feel if she was ready for him and found the evidence dripping down her leg. Her arousal was inundating the air. He inhaled as he took her scent inside his nose then slammed inside of her. Lexy was ready for Mace as she grunted then fisted the sheets and held on. “Oh, baby, you feel so good. I’m sorry but I can’t be gentle. I want you so bad. Tell me now, baby, if you need me to stop?”

Lexy moaned then groaned, “Don’t you dare!”

That was all Mace needed to hear as he grabbed her hair, fisting it tighter, he moved his hips around and around giving Lexy a different feeling—and she loved it. She absolutely loved it. Mace was hitting all the right spots as he pushed inside her. Lexy tried to hold on longer but he was deliciously hitting the right spot each time he twisted his hips. “Oh, oh, I’m…” Lexy couldn’t finish her response as she slung her head back screaming Mace’s name.

Reece watched as Lexy came, smiling at her beauty.

Mace waited until she came then grabbed her by the neck and shoulder placing his mark over the old one.

Lexy moaned as Mace sucked on her neck. The feeling was unlike anything she ever knew. The mark meant they loved her and would always stay with her. Nothing mattered but them. Mace grunted and pushed two more times then emptied inside of her. He leaned over onto Lexy, gasping for air.

Lexy was worn out as she fell forward falling to her side. Reece caught her and laid her down beside him. Lexy was tired. Her eyes fluttered shut as she fell asleep smiling.

Mace waited a few minutes then curled up in front of her. As he moved closer to Lexy, she instantly reached out, grabbed his hand and brought it to her chest. Reece smiled as he watched how their mate, even in sleep, wanted them near her. The look on Mace’s face was priceless. Reece watched as Mace stared at his mate then looked over at Reece and smiled. The look of love was washed upon his face and that made Reece smile. He loved them both and couldn’t think of anyone better than Lexy and Mace to be his mates. “I love you too, Mace.” Reece waited for Mace’s reaction, but let the guy off the hook. “But not in a gay kinda way. I’m happy that it was you that I got to share this wonderful woman with.”

Mace smiled then placed his hand over to Reece’s shoulder and squeezed. “I love you, too, and I couldn’t be happier to share her with you.” Mace laid down as Reece hugged Lexy closer. He thought back at how he fought this in the beginning and couldn’t for the life of him understand why. However, he knew this was meant to be and the fates didn’t make mistakes like this pairing. There was a reason why they were put together, and in time, that would be shown to them. He knew that trouble was still out there, but right now the only people that mattered was the two in the room with him, his mate’s. He closed his eyes as he let his mind fade, peaceful, until the next time trouble found his pack.

  Chapter Twenty-Four

Mace flipped the steaks over on the grill as he listened to everyone talk. He was about to comment on what Declan had said when his eyesight clouded and the door opened. Mace watched as the man before sat on the ground inside a pentagram. The only difference was a wolf was hanging from a tree with its neck cut open allowing the blood to drain into a pot. Mace knew the wolf was a werewolf. The wolves were still standing guard around the circle like before. Mace knew this meant something, but he couldn’t see who the man was in the robe. Then the door closed as Mace blinked several times, realizing the steaks were burning.

“Hey, buddy, are you okay? You never let the steaks burn.”

Mace smiled at his best friend, Cade.

“Another one.” Cade came closer not wanting Adrianna to hear. “What was this one like?”

Mace shook his head like he didn’t want to tell Cade and make him worry, but they all needed to be on the lookout for trouble. Magnus wasn’t working alone and neither was Cain. They all had a purpose, but Cain wanted Lexy and that saved her life in the end.

“I need to know, Mace,” Cade said as he looked over at Adrianna who was sitting with Selena and Lexy talking.

“Just like the other one with the robed man sitting in the pentagram, except this time... He had a…” Mace swallowed hard.

“He had what, Mace?” Mace could tell that Cade was worried.

“He had a wolf hanging from a tree with its neck cut and the blood was draining into a bucket. It was a werewolf, Cade, but I didn’t recognize the wolf.”

Cade stared at Mace. He wanted to plan but what were they to plan against. Nobody knew who the man was. His identity wasn’t shown. He had a wizard robe that hid his face.

“Listen, Cade, tonight is about family and pack. Tonight we have fun, but tomorrow is another day. We will get together tomorrow. We will protect Adrianna.”

Cain looked back over at Adrianna who watched as Cade and Mace talked. Cade smiled at his mate. She could always tell when something was going on, so Cade had to put on a smile so Adrianna wouldn’t worry.

Lexy sat across from the fire pit listening to the children play in the background. It had been two weeks since the incident with Cain. Adrianna and Selena sat next to Lexy as they watched the fire and the children play. Lexy looked over at the grill where her mates were talking to Damen, Declan, Samson, Cade, Peter, and Afton. Adrianna broke the silence, “Lexy, do you remember what happened when the protection stone helped you?”

Lexy immediately reached up feeling for the necklace. Lexy cleared her throat as she remembered the terrible sound of Cain burning. She shook her head then recited the story to her mother, Mary, Selena, and Adrianna. “I remember that I had decided I wasn’t going down without a fight. Mace and Reece were worth staying alive for. It was weird, but I heard this voice in my head that gave me the words to say. I don’t even remember what I said but after I said it, Cain was thrown against the wall and when he got up and told me he was taking my magic, well, it was like I was protected from any kind of magic he threw at me. He couldn’t even use his magic against me. When he was slammed against the wall, he knocked over the candles and it caught him and the room on fire. I ran out of the house and Cain tried to come after me, but when he got to the front door, he bounced off something, throwing him backwards to the ground. Then the roof caved in on him. I’ve never heard of anything like it, Adrianna,” said Lexy as she shivered, remembering the scream of Cain burning to death.

“Your mother must have been a powerful witch, Adrianna,” Mary replied.

Selena smiled and patted Adrianna on the hand. “She was, Mary. She loved her children more than anything, but she knew they were special and would need a little help from time to time. The necklace has been past down from generation to generation, growing in power from each witch that had it. So yes it is a powerful piece of jewelry.”

Lexy grasped the necklace, taking comfort of having it around her neck.

“Have they found Brandi yet?” Lexy asked.

  “No
. Not yet. She was a little smarter than Amanda. She had an exit plan and got out of town fast.” Selena shook her head at the thought of another witch going bad.

“Well let’s hope they catch her,” Adrianna commented as she rubbed her stomach.

Lexy smiled as she watched Adrianna rub her belly. She could feel the power coming from her stomach, and had a feeling these two babies were going to be powerful. She turned when she heard a car pull up in the driveway.

Adrianna turned toward the car. “I wonder who that is?”

“It’s a friend of mine. I hope you don’t mind, Lexy. She is moving to town to be my assistant and I wanted everyone to meet her. I think you will like her. She knows how to handle herself with the magical community. She is a Vampire and knows some magic, too. I plan to help her learn more. We have been friends for a long time,” said Selena.

“Selena, you know you can invite anyone to our home. What’s her name?” asked Lexy.

  “Torture Gomel.”

Adrianna whipped her head around staring at Selena then the car pulling up. “The woman who works at The Plasma Nest?” asked Adrianna.

Selena smiled. “Yes, Adrianna, the woman who took care of Edward Jonas for us, my dear. Is there a problem?” asked Selena.

“Uhh, no, I just never thought she would leave her profession,” said Adrianna.

“What did she do before?” Lexy asked, now intrigued.

  Adrianna snickered.

Selena’s head whipped around, frowning at Adrianna. “Adrianna, if you have a problem with her then we can leave and I can take Torture to my house where she will be welcomed, no matter what she has done in her past. She didn’t grow up like you. She had to fight to stay alive. She did what she had to do to stay alive,” Selena snapped then got up and went to the car to see Torture.

“Damn, I screwed that up. I shouldn’t have laughed. Torture helped us a while back and she didn’t deserve that, especially from me. Don’t judge her, Lexy, especially from my actions. I really don’t know the girl, but my dad and Selena love her. That should be good enough for me.”

“And me, too. I never judge a book by its cover, Adrianna. Those are usually the best ones.”

Adrianna smiled then tried to get up from the chair but couldn’t. Her belly got in the way. Lexy got up and pulled Adrianna up as they laughed. Selena brought a beautiful blonde bombshell over to meet them. She was a beautiful woman with long blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Her face showed a scar on her left cheek, but it didn't take away for her beauty. Lexy could tell that she was a confident woman, but she looked almost shy, too. She had long legs with a curvy figure. She oozed sex appeal as she walked toward them carrying cupcakes.

Adrianna and Lexy smiled at the stranger, as she looked them up and down. Lexy knew she was sizing them up, but it wasn’t meant to be mean. This woman wanted to know whom she was dealing with.

Adrianna stuck her hand out first, smiling up at Torture. “Hey, I’m Adrianna McDonald.”

Torture looked down at Adrianna’s hand then stuck her hand out and shook it. “Hello, Adrianna. My name is Torture Gomel and it’s nice to finally meet you.”

Adrianna smiled then introduced Lexy. “This is my sister-in-law, Lexy Redden.”

Lexy smiled at how Adrianna introduced her. “Hello, Torture, and welcome to my home.”

Torture smiled and then held up the cupcake holder. “I thought you might like some of these. I have a thing for cooking sweets and I thought I would bring a batch with me.”

“That’s so sweet of you, Torture, but you didn’t have to,” Lexy said with a warm smile.

“Hey, speak for yourself, woman, some of us are feeding two and I love cupcakes.” Adrianna reached out and took the cupcakes from Torture. Selena and Torture burst out laughing as they watched Adrianna put the holder up so she could see the flavor of the cupcakes.

Lexy liked the woman already. She knew how to break the ice with sweets. Lexy had a feeling that Torture and she would become good friends.

Damen and Declan heard someone pull up the driveway but couldn’t see who it was.

“Who just pulled up?” Mace asked.

Afton was sitting in a chair drinking a beer and said, “Selena said that she asked Torture to come by and meet you guys, so it could be her.”

“Torture—the woman from The Plasma Nest?”

Afton smiled at Mace’s remark. “Yep, the one and only Torture Gomel. Selena has offered her a job as her assistant and she accepted.”

Damen and Declan both got up when they heard who it could be. They had heard a lot about Torture Gomel from people who could afford her at the Nest. They said that she knew how to have a good time and she knew how to handle any supernatural in bed.

They watched as Selena, Adrianna, and Lexy escorted Torture over to meet the guys. As soon as Damen and Declan saw the beautiful Torture, their bodies went haywire.

  “Shit,” Declan whispered.

Everyone turned and watched as Damen's and Declan’s postures changed. Both men went into protection mode. Damen and Declan sniffed the air, smelling her intoxicating scent—and it smelled like pure dark chocolate. Declan and Damen both said at the same time. “Chocolate.”

Eli watched as the wolf’s blood drained from his body into the bowl. Being careful not to draw attention to himself as the Master performed the ritual.

“This Alpha wasn’t strong enough. We will need a stronger one. We will need the Supreme Alpha’s blood. Eli?” Eli jumped when he heard his name. He had already felt the pain from the Master before; he never wanted to go through that again.

“Yes Master.” Eli cowardly shook and bowed his head to his new Master.

“You will bring me the Supreme Alpha’s blood. His blood is strong. Then we will need a Vampire who is just as strong. You know them. He lives in your town. Get me what I need or run because when I find you and your filthy brothers, I will keep you alive for a while before you meet the end just like your mother.” Eli’s head jerked up when he spoke of his mother. Before Eli could say or do anything, the Master’s hand went out toward Eli, dropping him to his knees in excruciating pain. Eli screamed as the pain ripped through his head. The pain felt like someone was stabbing him with an ice pick over and over again.

The Master brought his hand down, immediately stopping the pain in Eli’s head.

  “Go now!” the Master muttered.

Excerpt from Once Forgotten Twice Loved

The Love of a Shifter Series Book One

  By Bryce Evans

Ash sat on the plane, looking out the window, thinking about Nash. She leaned her chair back trying to remember when she first met him. Nash had been her friend since they were six years old. They were best friends while they were in the orphanage. Neither one of them had parents nor any family. Ash treated Nash like a little brother. She knew that Nash was special, too. He was a werewolf, but she didn’t care. Ash loved Nash as her family. They stayed in the orphanage until they were both sixteen years old, and then they had run away together. Ash couldn’t stop the bad memories as they flooded her mind as she remembered all the terrible beatings.

Ash told Nash she wasn't going to take the beatings any more so she asked Nash if he wanted to run away with her. They had spoken ab
out leaving before, but now Nash could tell Ash was breaking up inside. The beatings were becoming more frequent, so Nash immediately agreed to leave with Ash, telling Ash that she was his family, and if she left, then he would leave too. Ash knew that Nash would run away with her, but she didn’t want to assume anything, and she always wanted Nash to have a choice. Nobody ever asked her opinion or gave her a choice on anything in the orphanage.

They ran away from the orphanage one night after Ash was beaten because she didn’t want to eat the beans they put on her plate. She said they weren’t cooked all the way. They beat her for giving her opinion on the food, telling her she should be grateful for receiving anything to eat since she was a ward of the state. They always treated the kids like pieces of shit. Ash was different, and the older she got, the more they noticed the changes in her. She was also filling out faster than most girls were at her age. Ash knew it was only a matter of time before something happened. The security guards or male caretakers always made comments about her breasts and how much they’d like to see them. They made Ash nervous when they were around.

They ran away together with only the clothes on their backs. Ash always found ways to get them food or a place to live. She knew how to find people that could help them disappear. She had found someone to get them both a different identity. They planned to use a different identity until they turned eighteen, and then they would go back to their original names because they would no longer be wards of the state.

They worked odd jobs to stay alive and lived in rundown shacks where people didn’t ask any questions about their age. Ash was street smart, and she knew how to hustle to get them whatever they needed. She would always come home with a new shirt for Nash or new shoes, always taking care of Nash’s needs before her own.
