Howl at the Moon

Her voice sounded accusing, but damn it, she was frustrated, and it was all his fault.
She felt those trembling hands lift and stroke the hair back from her face. His hazel eyes gazed down at her, searching her expression. "Baby, are you sure?" he asked. "I know you had a rough time. I don't want to scare you."
"Scare me?" she laughed. "The only think I'm scared of right now is that you've decided you don't want me anymore. Yeah, what happened on the piers sucked, but I wasn't hurt and I wasn't traumatized. It was a bad day, but you know what? I've had bad days before, and I'll have bad days again. If you're going to act like I'm made of glass every time I do, I swear to the moon, I'll bean you over the head with something."
This time Noah laughed and his arms tightened around her. "I think I get the picture."
"Good!" She pulled back to look at him. "I'm a strong woman, Noah. I can handle more than you might think. And besides that, I have you. I have a mate who loves me almost as much as I love him. With you to remind me how lucky I am, what could possibly get me down?"
She felt his hands firm, dragging over her hips, her back, her bottom, and setting every single one of her nerve endings on fire.
"Oh, I don't know," he murmured, and his eyes glinted wickedly as he began slowly lowering her to the floor. "Sometimes I think down is a pretty good place to be."
Sam grinned and dragged his mouth down to hers. "I'll make you a deal. I'll stay down as long as you keep it up. How does that sound?"
He laughed against her mouth and slid his hands inside the tiny panties that this time she knew he'd at least noticed.
"You," he whispered, sliding his fingers deep inside her and making her eyes roll back in her head, "have got yourself a deal."
