Fallen Angel, Part 4 - A Mafia Romance: Fallen Angel Series Page 19

by Tracie Podger

“What had Gerry said that annoyed you?” I asked Harley.

Gerry went to speak, but I held my hand up to silence him.

Harley didn’t answer. I crouched down and faced them.

“You are brothers and sometimes you’re going to fight. That’s okay. Sometimes those fights may get physical, and you know what? That’s okay, too. What’s not okay is that you don’t make up immediately after. You’ve both been through the worst time ever but we stick together, we don’t fight.”

Neither boy said anything but had the grace to lower their heads.

“I want you to consider one thing. You fall out, even at your age, and do nothing about it, it’s hard to ever get that friendship back. Is that what you want?”

I looked at them long enough that they both eventually shook their heads.

“Now, shake hands, and I don’t want to see that again or hear another word about it, okay?”

It took almost a full minute before they finally turned towards each other and reluctantly shook hands.

“Do you want to go out and play?” I asked.

Gerry nodded but Harley shook his head. “Then how about a movie?”

Both nodded to that but I wanted to monitor what they were watching. It was too soon for a shoot ‘em up film. I walked with them to the TV room and scrolled through the selection of DVD’s that were already programmed into the system. A comedy, suitable for their age group, was selected.

“I’ll bring you in some lunch when it’s time,” I said as I deliberately left them alone.

I trusted Gerry, and I guessed that was what every mother said. Many a time we had been called to the school for poor behaviour but it was always in retaliation. He was a child that would wade in to protect his friends, would defend himself if needed, and that was something I found hard to reprimand him for.

“Sorted?” I heard. Evelyn left the utility room with a pile of clean clothes in her arms.

“Yes, I think so. Did you hear what I said?”

“I did, and I think you handled that very well.”

While she took the washing downstairs, I prepared lunch. I poured crisps into a bowl instead of giving them a bag each. I wanted them to share and to start to re-connect.

They were in the same position as I’d left them, either end of the sofa. I pulled a small coffee table towards the middle of the sofa and laid a plate of sandwiches, crisps and a drink each. They have to shuffle a little closer to reach. The only sound was a huff as I blocked Gerry’s view of the TV.

I took a seat at the breakfast bar and decided to catch up on some work while Evelyn took herself off to do some grocery shopping.

The Range Rover pulled onto the drive. Travis exited from the driver’s side and Robert from the back. I watched through the window as they talked before both heading towards the house. The sound of footsteps climbing the stairs had the two boys running from the TV room.

“Dad!” Gerry called out as he flung his arms around Robert’s waist.

“Hey, buddy. Did you watch a movie?”

“We did. It wasn’t that good.”

I liked the use of the word ‘we’.

Harley had walked to Travis’ side. He was getting to the age where open displays of affection were embarrassing. However, he did pick up Travis’ arm and place around his own shoulders.

“Do you want to play on the trampoline?” Gerry said, looking over to Harley.

There was a hesitation before Harley spoke. “Sure.”

I wondered if that answer was more for our benefit than his. Travis walked the boys downstairs.

“How was work?” I asked as Robert removed his suit jacket and hung it over the back of the stool as he sat.

“Busy, there’s a lot I need to catch up on. I told Gina I’d do half days there and half days here for a little while.”

“It’s okay. If you have to go back to work, then go. I think we need to get back to our normal routine.”

“What are you thoughts about school?” he asked.

“When I say we need to get back to our normal routine…”

“Home tutoring? Trouble is, Gerry is a sociable boy. I don’t know how well he’ll take to home schooling.”

“We don’t need to make a decision right now, he’s only missing summer school. Why don’t we make a decision later?”

Robert reached out and pulled me towards him. “Do you remember what I said earlier?”

“No, want to remind me?” I said with a smile.

“I want to get dirty with you, Mrs. Stone.”

“Mmm, that’s a new one. Let me think? This isn’t Mr. Angry, nor is it Mr. Playful. Do I need to add another personality trait to you? Mr. Seductive maybe?”

“Whatever works, baby. Just take your panties off, now.”

I looked at him in surprise.

  “I mean it, lower them.”

I looked over my shoulder, knowing full well the house was empty. I hitched my skirt, slowly and obviously annoyingly. Robert covered my hands with his and raised them quicker. I leaned forward to kiss him but he moved back. With his hands still on my hips he spun me around pulling me closer so my back rested on his chest.

“Lower them before I rip them off, and I know you like these ones,” he whispered in my ear.

With my skirt around my hips I slid my fingers in the side of my panties and did as I was asked.

Robert’s hand snaked around my waist and the palm of his hand rested on my pubis, the tips of his fingers gently brushed against my clitoris. His other arm snaked around my chest.

“You’ve been thinking about me,” he quietly said. “You’re so wet already.”

I rested my head back on his shoulder. “Always for you,” I replied.

His fingers gently teased, sliding between the soft folds until he found what both he and I wanted. He pushed two inside me. The heel of his hand gently rolled over my swollen clitoris as he finger fucked me, slow and deep. He hooked his fingers, sliding over that one place inside me that would have my legs shaking. I gripped his thighs for support, his arm around my chest tightened, holding me up. His lips roamed over the side of my neck to that sweet place behind my ear. He nipped my earlobe before his tongue licked a path back down to my shoulder. His moan vibrated against my skin—skin that was sparking with sensation.

I raised myself on tiptoes, wanting him to get as deep as he could. My stomach quivered; I felt the muscles twitching and the ache I got before I came started to build. I covered his hand with mine. I inserted my fingers alongside his and fucked myself.

“Can you feel that? Can you feel yourself tighten?” he whispered.

I loved to hear him talk to me. Just his voice had the power to tip me over the edge. I nodded.

“That’s you about to come.” And he was correct.

I bit down on my lip so as not to scream out and came. My fingers dug into his thighs and I locked my arm to support myself, to hold myself up as wave after wave crashed over me. He pulled his fingers from me, raising them to my lips.

  “Suck,” he said.

A memory flash through my mind and I smiled as I opened my mouth. The first time I was in that room, he’d done the same thing.

“Save some for me. I want to taste you.”

I removed my own fingers and raised my hand to my shoulder. He grabbed my wrist and placed my fingers to his lips. His tongue licked over them.

The crash of the front door opening with force, the sound of children laughing and the stomp of feet on the stairs caused me to panic. I pulled my fingers free from Robert’s mouth, grabbed my panties and dragged them up. The boys were rounding the corner as I was smoothing down my skirt. Robert let out a laugh—a wicked laugh.

“Hey, did you have a good time?” I said with a squeak as they came across the room.

My heart was still racing and I cleared my throat. I took a step forward and away from Robert.

“We’re gonna watch the rest of the movie,” Harle
y said. The boys headed for the TV room. When they had closed the door behind them, I slumped against Robert.

“Shit, that was close,” I said.

I turned to face him and spotted a sheen across his lower lip. I watched as he licked across it with his tongue before giving me a wink.

“Prepare for round two,” he said as he slid from the stool.

I watched as he adjusted himself, his hard cock obviously straining against his trousers.

“I look forward to it,” I replied as I placed my hand over the bulge.

Another step of footsteps could be heard and Robert sighed.

“We need a lock on that front door.”

I laughed as I moved away and walked around the breakfast bar.

“Coffee?” I said as Travis joined us.

He took a seat beside Robert. “Katrina called. She wants another meeting with me.”

  “Just you?” Robert asked.

“Yeah, tomorrow. I said I’d meet her at the club, we can get a coffee or something.”

Robert smirked. “It’s a bit unusual to discuss your child at the club.”

“Well…I thought it might be a little more relaxed.”

Travis appeared nervous; he couldn’t quite meet Robert’s eyes.

“So she asked you to attend a meeting?” I said.

“Yeah, well, not quite those words. She wanted to meet.”

I looked at him, Robert looked at him, and he flicked his gaze between us.

“For fuck’s sake, don’t make something out of this that isn’t there. It’s just a meeting.”

“Okay, calm down, bro,” Robert replied with the smirk that was clearly irritating.

I slid two coffees across the counter. “I’m going to have a quick shower and change.”

“Good idea,” Robert replied as he wrinkled his nose. I glared at him.

“Keep an eye on the boys, they had a fight earlier,” I said to Travis as I crossed the room.

  “They had a fight?”

“Yes, small one. I’ve dealt with it though.”

  ****

I stripped off, placing my clothes in the washing bin before reaching into the shower to turn it on. I could smell myself and I smiled as I wondered what round two was going to be.

It felt good to get back on track with Robert. There was never a time that I didn’t love him, there would never be a time that I hated him, but for a moment I hadn’t wanted to be near him. I did want one conversation with him though. I wanted to know if the things he’d told me he had done was the worst of him.

I stood under the water thinking back on all the things I knew Robert had done in the past. He’d killed Joey in front of me, he’d ordered killings. I’d always known he was a dangerous man. As I thought, I realised there was nothing he could ever tell me that would make me love him less.

“Do we have to go?” I heard outside the bedroom door.

I was sitting on the bed wrapped in a towel and brushing my hair.

“Yes, it’s dinner time,” Travis replied.

My smile was broad. Harley hadn’t wanted to leave which meant one thing; his friendship with Gerry was also back on track.

I pulled on a pair of jeans and slipped a t-shirt over my head. As I left the room while tying my hair in a ponytail and distracted, I walked smack into the brick wall that was Robert.

  “Round two, remember?” he said.

  “Where’s Gerry?”

“Evelyn decided to bake a cake. They’re making a mess upstairs. You might want to stay in here. You know how stressed that makes you.”

“And what would I do in here?” I asked as I was being walked backwards.

He kicked the bedroom door shut behind him. “I think you should be on your knees.”

I raised my eyebrows at him. “On my knees? Why would I do that?”

“Because you want me to fuck your mouth.”

He undid his belt slowly, drawing it through the loops of his trousers. He stared at me as he undid the button and lowered the zip. His trousers fell to the floor and he stepped out of them.

I licked my lips as his hard cock sprang free—he hadn’t worn any shorts.

  “I do, do I?” I whispered.

  “You do. Now down.”

I sunk to my knees; it was only fair I reciprocated. His hands fisted in my hair as I took his cock in my hand and slid it up and down his silky skin. I shuffled forwards. My tongue darted out, just catching the tip of him, lapping up a droplet of come. His fingers pressed into my head, pushing me onto his cock. I opened my mouth and guided him in. As my lips closed around him, he moaned. Very slowly, I lowered my head, taking him to the back of my throat and swallowing down my gag reflex. My hand was still closed around his shaft and the other cupped his balls. I gently rolled them in my hand and my nails scraped against his skin.

  “Fuck,” I heard him say.

I sucked hard as I raised my head. He pushed his hips forward, held my head and fucked my mouth.

I released his balls, took my hand from his cock assured that he knew my limits and cupped his ass. I dug my nails in as his pace quickened. Each time he pulled back I sucked hard.

I saw his stomach twitch, the muscles defined and that delicious V that always drew my eye down to his cock was more prominent as his whole body tensed. I looked up at him, his head was thrown back and his mouth open as he moaned. He came, digging his fingers into my head as he did. I sucked, I swallowed, but my mouth was full and my eyes watered. I pulled back, releasing him. His come ran down from my lips and over my chin before I could swallow the last of it. He sunk to his knees in front of me.

  “Fuck,” he said again.

I grabbed the edge of his shirt and wiped my mouth.

“Fuck, indeed,” I said having finally caught my breath.

“Been storing it up for you, baby,” he said before he laughed.

“That I doubt. I empty the bin, remember?”

“Every time I jerk off, it’s you I’m thinking about.”

  Mr. Playful had arrived.

The smell of cake wafted through the room and I giggled. I felt like a naughty schoolgirl giving a BJ to her boyfriend while her parents were around. Although my knees reminded me I wasn’t that young; I winced as I stood.

“I need a shower,” Robert said as he also stood.

“We’re getting too old for this,” I said, stretching my legs.

“The only time I don’t want to fuck your mouth is when you have no teeth.”

“You’re…you’re gross, that’s what you are.”

Robert laughed as he walked to the bathroom. I followed to clean my teeth before joining Evelyn, Gerry and the mess in the kitchen.

It was nice to hear laughter, especially laughter from Evelyn. It was something I hadn’t heard in a little while. I rounded the corner and made my way to the kitchen. There was indeed a mess. Flour had spilled over a counter top, bowls and utensils littered another.

“You look like you’ve had fun,” I said.

“We made a cake,” Gerry said.

“I can tell. Why don’t you wash your hands, and I’ll clean up.”

Evelyn and I had the kitchen back to normal within minutes. Gerry sat at the breakfast bar, his gaze on the stove. If he stared hard enough, it would bake quicker he told me.

I pulled some dishes from the fridge and prepared dinner. “Will you join us?” I asked Evelyn.

“I’ve cooked for Travis. I should go and heat that up otherwise that boy won’t get a decent meal.”

I laughed. Travis was renowned for his cooking skills, or lack of them.

“I’ll see you in the morning. Save me some of that cake,” she said to Gerry as she made her way to the stairs.

  ****

I relented and let Gerry watch a second movie. Normally he would read before bedtime. I wanted him to go to bed with something fun on his mind so settled him down with his favourite, Bee Movie. I imagined he could recite the movie word for word. Robert and I sat on the
sofa in the living room with a glass of wine each. I snuggled into his side and he placed an arm around my shoulders.

“It’s been a while since we’ve sat like this,” I said.

“It feels good to have you by my side. Can I ask you a question?”

  “Sure.”

  “Would you have really left?”

“No. I know now, hand on heart that I could not have walked out that door. I panicked; I wanted to get Gerry away from danger, not you. I know what I said and I was wrong. I was lashing out, wanting to blame someone, I guess. And I also know you wanted me to hate you. Travis told me.”

“Travis has a big mouth. I didn’t want you to hate me. I wanted to show you what I was capable of, what I do that I don’t tell you about.”

“I thought about that earlier. You don’t kill without reason. You’re not a psychopath.”

“I don’t care though. That used to worry me. I don’t have any feelings about what I’ve done other than pleasure that I achieved what I set out to do. I obtained the information that got our son back, and I don’t care that I tortured for that.”

“I guess you’ve only told me half the story, haven’t you?”

“I haven’t told you everything, and I don’t intend to.”

“I don’t need to know the rest.”

I sipped my wine. “Oh, I forgot, I invited Sam and Scott over for dinner. I need to check what day they’re free.”

  “Sounds great.”

“Did I hear a little from Mr. Sarcastic in there?”

Robert laughed. “He’s your best friend, invite him over whenever you want.”

We settled into a comfortable silence. The past few weeks had been the worst of my life. A tornado had ripped through my family, but like any good family, we’d come through it, with help.

“Will you tell me about Rocco?”

“I knew of him but that was the first time I’d met him. Like everyone else, I believed him to be dead. He was Joe’s underboss before me, and the love of Evelyn’s life. Joe took him in after trouble back in his village. I don’t know all the details other than he killed a man. Franco is a very connected man. He was entrusted with a secret—a secret he was supposed to take to the grave with him.”

“And he never told anyone until now?”
