  Acknowledgments

Let me begin with enormous gratitude for my editor, James Sutter, who gave me the chance to journey into Golarion and add to the endless adventures there. His keen insight concerning the plot and characters, plus his constant willingness to hammer out the raw details, helped make this book what it is. It's been a great joy to work with him.

I'm incredibly grateful to Jenelle Tosaya, who cheered me on throughout the whole process of sitting down and actually writing this story, despite the crazy and exhausting hours involved. And to my loving family, who shared in the excitement as I experienced having a novel published for the very first time

Further thanks to Dave Gross, for his invaluable feedback during the novel's early development and drafting. To the many other Pathfinder Tales authors I've met along the way, thank you as well for your encouragement!

Of course, every novel needs plenty of tough love to whip it into shape. I'm appreciative of my Denver critique group, which kept me in the loop even when I could only attend via Skype. Finally, I'm indebted to the beta readers who took the time to cast their eyes across these pages: James Sams, Travis Heermann, Holly Roberds, Michael Stewart, Mike Kalar, Michael Pack, Rob Haines, Tony Peak, Dr. Jennifer Kincheloe, and Melisa Ford (apologies if I missed anyone!).

  Thank you, one and all.
