Summer Daze

I sat there, taking in her words. I knew this was the real reason we were both nervous. The two different versions of dates were a big decision. On one hand, a real date would mean the friendship will change, but just being together as friends, that would determine that the future for us would be just that: friends.
“I mean, I’m okay with either, Jayce. But you know that one will lead us down a path that we won’t be able to walk back down.”
I was silent for a minute, pretending to think about what El said. But I didn’t need to think because I knew exactly what I wanted. And if El said she was okay with the decision then I wanted to try. Even if it was just for this summer. Because if not now, then when?
“I didn’t ask you out thinking this was a friend date, El.” I reached over and took her hand in my own. “And I don’t know what’s going to happen when summer ends but, maybe we can take things a day at a time?”
El smile widely and nodded her head. A sigh of what I figured was relief exited her lips and I forced myself not to lean over and pull another one out of her.
“Okay, now that that’s out of the way. I can stop drinking so much. Excuse me for a minute – I really have to use the restroom.” I chuckled as I watched El scurry to the ladies room and placed my hand on my chin. Looking out across the setting sun on the water I knew that the path was going to hurt. I knew it because summer wouldn’t last forever, no matter how hard we tried to slow down time. But I was okay with falling apart at this moment.
Pieces could always be put back together, right?

“Thank you, for tonight, it was delicious. Really. No one has ever done that for me.” El smiled over at me from the passenger seat. I kept my hands on the wheel because for the life of me they wanted to travel their own distance to play with the soft skin of her legs.
I found out tonight that El’s legs were magic. They were naturally smooth and toned, and after a short walk on the beach, the remnants of small fine sand made them glisten as if she had been dipped in glitter. I could hardly keep my eyes off them all night, even now.
“You’re welcome.” I said. I wanted to kiss her. I wanted to kiss her as if my life depended on it, but I didn’t know if that’s something she wanted. Well, I knew she would – that we would eventually kiss, but didn’t a lot of women have rules about kissing on the first date?
Maybe we should have gone over those rules.
“Do you want to come in?” El motioned toward the house and my eyes widened. El back tracked.
“I mean, well, even though that would be nice, I think the gang is still here if you wanted to hang out for a little while.” Again, I took a glance at El’s legs. My libido was on overdrive and it was best if I didn’t come in. I don’t think I could contain my hormones right now.
El licked her lips subconsciously and I nearly went paralyzed then and there.
“Actually, we have an early day tomorrow so I’m going to head home. I’ll walk you to the door though.”
El looked a little disappointed but relented to the walk. She jiggled her keys as we made it up the steps. She was right – the group was still there – laughing and hollering as if their life depended on it.
“Thanks again, for tonight, it was fun. Maybe again, soon?”
I nodded my head, afraid to talk. I was afraid to say anything to her since the only words going through my mind were the following:
Kiss
Her
Now
One last thank you and my arms were around El, hugging her. I held on tight and lingered my fingers on the back of her neck. I made a note to feel this moment. Her hair tickling my shoulder, our breasts touching through thin fabric, her soft legs brushing up against my own, creating warmth that radiated from my toes to my stomach.
Finally, she pulled away and moved toward the door. Her legs brushed up against mine one last time and it was my undoing. I took El’s hand and pulled her to the end of the patio where I instinctively knew the light didn’t meet.
“What’s going on?” I heard her chuckle. And then she stopped.
My lips were on El’s the moment I knew we were shrouded in darkness. She breathed in deeply as I opened my mouth to let her in. Colors burst from behind my eyes as blues and reds and yellows danced across our bodies. We took our time tasting one another – the beach I decided – would taste like this. Her smell was a warm summer’s day at the end of May. She was comfort personified in a body that made my hands want to melt.
El gasped as I realized I had pushed her up against the wall. It must have been cool to the touch but then I realized my hands had wandered on their own accord. I took her earlobe in my mouth as I pressed against the naked flesh of her thighs, feeling the muscles contract and tighten and contract again. My own thigh fell in between her legs, my skirt riding up enough to feel her growing warmth.
El was a drug and I was officially addicted.
We were in the heat of the moment and I felt as though I was reaching a height that I had no way of knowing how to reach, but at the same time still climbing. The feeling was so exquisite, I didn’t want to stop: ever.
“Hey, man. Let’s go down to Joanie’s. We’ll get Thieson to score us some more beers.”
The sound of Bryce’s voice and Langston jarred us out of whatever fog we had been stuck in. We breathed in heavily, still in darkness, laying our heads on each other. I could still taste El and my body was still humming with excitement. Leaned up against her we heard the boys’ heavy steps walking down the drive. I pushed into El one more time and her head rolled back with a groan.
“God, Jayce. Please. Inside.” I wasn’t sure if she was asking me to take her here or go with her inside her house but my lord, at that moment I didn’t care. I kissed her again, moving my hands down under her skirt, my fingers pushed against her panties, her warmth radiating across my hand. It was one of the most magnificent feelings ever.
“Hey! Are you guys making out over there?”
We broke away as if our bodies had scalded one another. El, lord help her, looked as if she was going to pass out with her breathing so hard. I held her hand, fixed my hair with the free one and pulled us back into the light, only to see Bryce and Langston’s glossy eyes. They smelled like weed.
“Who us? No. We were just looking at a family of raccoons over here. Little baby ones.” I twirled my hair for the ultimate ‘girl’ effect. The boys scoffed.
“Don’t get to close to them. They’ve got diseases.”
“I know some people who probably have the same ones,” El said through the side of her mouth. I couldn’t help but start laughing at that. El chuckled along with me as the boys both went back into the house. The mood, while still electric, had dimmed.
“Okay, I’m going to go,” El gave a little whine and I shook my head. I placed a hand on her cheek and one more kiss on her lips. “If I don’t go now, we’re going to be late for work.”
“Is that such a bad thing?” She called after me. I laughed and then remembered.
“Actually, do you mind if we go together tomorrow? My mom needs her car.”
El nodded as I got in the car and started the engine. I rolled down the window to say ‘goodnight’ one more time.
“We could save time in the morning if you just want to sleep over.” She said from the stoop. I considered it for a second longer than I should. Instead I clucked my tongue and told her I’d meet her here in the morning.
And then I drove away, as fast as I could, because I couldn’t wait until morning to see her again.
Chapter 13
I’d always been a morning person. It’s the one thing that really defined me for most of my life. Even as a kid, I’d be up at six in the morning, helping mom make breakfast for dad. My mom always said that it would change as I got older, but it didn’t. I woke up at six every morning. Even on the weekends when I had no school.
Today, the only thing that got me out of bed was knowing I was going to see El.
I ha
d never been extremely sexual when I grew up. Sure, I had crushes and envisioned kissing and touching but something inside of me last night awakened. It awakened me so much that it bled into my dream. An extremely lucid dream where I took up El’s offer to spend the night. Let’s just say I was still on edge when I woke up.
And when my alarm clock rang, I wanted to force my eyes back closed to get back to that part. You know the part, right before you tumble over in a wave of what could only be described as pure ecstasy? Yeah, that part.
I tried to shake off the nerves as my mom drove me to El’s. She was talking to me, asking me about how summer has been and work. I tried to stay focused but that dream kept sneaking in, and in turn so did the rolling of my stomach. I placed a hand on it, just to calm myself down. It’s not like anything could happen in the half hour until now and work, anyway.
I waved to my mom as she backed out of the drive and drove off. Carefully handling the coffee tray, i knocked once, then twice. I didn’t hear any one coming to the door so I also tried the bell. Nothing. I couldn’t finagle the coffee in my hands while also trying to call El, so I decided to try the door. It was open.
I’m not one to just walk into someone’s house uninvited. But I guess I wasn’t really uninvited in the same sense.
“El?” I called up the stairs. Still silence. “Mr. Bloom? Summer?”
I heard a thud from upstairs and a curse which sounded a lot like El. I took the stairs almost two at a time. A vision of her, laying on the floor of the store circled around in my head. I had grown a lot more protective of her since then.
“El?” Her door was cracked open so I pushed it a little further. El stood in the room, her back to me, clad only in a tight black bra and matching black, laced boy shorts.
Suddenly, my dream came into focus. I swallowed hard.
“Hey, are you okay?”
El turned quickly and held her hands up in defeat. “Yes, sorry. I overslept and I can’t find my shirt.” El rummaged through the clothes on the floor and that’s when I noticed that her room looked like a tornado had gone through it. A shawl laid half hazard on her bedroom lamp. Blouses, t shirts and jeans laid strewn across the floor and socks and underwear were everywhere. Again, I looked up at her as I saw her disappear into her closet.
“What happened?” I asked trying to compose myself. I didn’t care about the mess. Not at all, I was just trying to control my racing heart at seeing El half naked. In her underwear. It was just like her wearing a bikini. A very, sexy thin bikini.
“Um,” El peeked her head out from the door, “I had some trouble finding something to wear last night.” Again she was gone and then she rushed out. “I forgot to turn on my curling iron.” I saw her disappear into the bathroom, but there was a clear line of sight of her from the mirror. El, started to button her white blouse up and then plugged in the iron. She left her breasts barely exposed and wore no pants. The shirt lowered to hide her panties but I wasn’t sure if that was even better for me. I looked around the room, closing my eyes and breathing.
“Sorry, I know it’s a mess. And I know you’re a clean freak. I’m getting there too. I’ll have it spick and span tonight.” El was talking but all I could see was her, in nothing but black, lacey underwear and the softest looking blouse in the world.
Did I mention her legs? Those smooth, strong legs that I was able to touch last night? My fingers flinched at the thought of touching them again. And then, I finally relented.
“What?”
I put the tray of coffee down carefully on her dresser, picked up my phone and dialed the store.
“Hey, Lacey? It’s Jayce.”
I looked at El who was curiously staring back. “I’ll clean. You don’t have to help me.” She mouthed to me. I shook my head and placed my fingers over my mouth. I couldn’t take my eyes off of her.
“Remember when you owed me that favor? Well, I need to cash in on it today…” I looked at El one more time, “…and tomorrow.” I nodded my head over the line. El was still confused but I figured it would be clear to her any minute. I turned away from her scantily clad body, just so I could finish my conversation with Lacey. “Yes. Two days out, me and El. And you’re sure Miguel and Lorrisa can cover?” Lacey confirmed over the phone. “Thanks so much. I appreciate it.” I heard Lacey click off and I steadied my nerves. Taking my purse slowly off my shoulder, I placed it down next to me on the floor and turned off my phone.
“Hey, El? Is your dad home?” I asked not facing her.
“Um, no he’s working.” Her voice was hesitant. “Did you just call in a ditch day?”
I didn’t answer her. “What about your step-mom?” I pushed her door closed and clicked the lock. I could hear her voice waver slightly.
“She’s in Nevada visiting her mom.”
I turned toward El, my expression showing exactly why I called off today. I couldn’t take it anymore. Between last night and right now, I was ready to explode.
“And Summer?”
El’s breathing started to quicken. She licked her lips. “Probably will be sleeping until the afternoon.” Another soft exhale, “why?”
“That’s fine as long as we’re quiet, I guess.” El’s mouth parted and I reached up, pulling her down to my lips. The electricity was instant. The waves crashed hard on the surface and I felt my knees buckle in an instant. El’s hand came to my support and held me up as her body became flush with my own.
“So, we’re not cleaning today?” El said in an attempt to lighten the thick air between us. I plucked the few buttons of her shirt undone and stared, hungrily at her body. I had seen El before like this, but for some reason, it had a different effect this time. Taking the blouse slowly off her shoulders, I threw it on the ground.
“I like it messy,” I said with a rough voice. I’m not sure why those words were intoxicating to El but she groaned and latched onto my mouth in an instant. There was no preamble to this kiss. There was no ‘leading’ up to anything. It was purely animalistic. An intrinsic need of want.
She opened her mouth and allowed me entrance. I scratched at her back, kneading her strong, yet feminine curves. Following her spine down with soft precision until I reached the swell of her ass.
I grabbed her, cupping and pulling her deeper into me. I wasn’t sure which one of us moaned as we hit the bed or if it was both but the feeling of our body weight on one another was making me want to tumble over right then and there.
I didn’t know what I was doing, but I didn’t let that stop me. I flipped El onto her back, my dress skirt riding up my legs as I straddled her waist. I had never wanted to see another person naked so bad before.
I didn’t know how to be slow, but I tried.
I caressed her neck and her shoulders, lingering my fingers across her collar bone and the swell of her breast. Her breath hitched as my finger moved below the fabric line, lightly skimming her nipple. Her hips bucked into me and I bit my lip in the feeling of slight relief between my legs. I started to rock against her as I undid her front clasp and take her into my mouth. Again, her hips bucked and again I groaned against her skin. The vibration of my mouth against her flesh earned me another roll of her hips. I did it again and again, trading breasts, and making sure each one got special attention.
“God, Jayce, you’re killing me.” I hummed in arousal and that’s when I felt El’s fingers against me. I hadn’t even realized she had been closing in around me until that electric shock settled in my lower spine. I bit my tongue, trying not to be loud but wanting to release my pleasure verbally at the same time. She had just touched me over my underwear…I couldn’t imagine what it would be like when…Oh!
Her fingers deftly slid passed my panty line and slid up against me for the first time.
Exquisite, warm, breathtaking.
They were all words that didn’t even come close to the feeling. I sat up straight, still straddling El’s hips and looked down only to find the image more enthralling than what was being done. My legs s
pread open for her, her hand disappearing under my skirt, her eyes filled with such desire and passion. I felt her open me more and that’s when I felt her enter me. I had never felt so full and hot at the same time. It was a feeling that I never wanted to end but knew that it would in a very short amount of time.
I wanted her to feel what she was doing to me, but I couldn’t get my hands to move other than to scratch across her stomach with every thrust into me. I grabbed her wrist with the will of a thousand Gods and moved to a slower pace, one that wouldn’t quite get me to the finish line but would continue allowing me to run toward it.
“Is everything okay?” I nodded at her question I pushed her deeper one last time. El moaned at the feeling of me encircling her and then I removed her hand. I needed this to last, I needed more time with her. I needed…
I removed my belt at my waist and then my dress joined the other clothes on the floor. El still exaled hard as she watched me remove every inch of clothing. Her breath hitched at the sight of my breasts, her stomach clenched at the feel of my warmth on her skin, and then, I removed her panties, painfully slow might I add, and touched her.
I languished in the feeling of her against my fingers, against my mouth. She tasted so sweet, like cool summer’s drink on the hottest day of the year. She was refreshing at the same time excruciatingly scorched.
El bucked underneath my mouth, my fingers working her to heights that I hoped only I had brought her before. I felt her tighten around me and then, like the waves crashing onto shore, she crashed herself, diving deep into the abyss and only coming up to breathe when she broke through the surface.
“Oh god,” El licked her lips as I climbed back up her body. My own body was still thrumming with excitement. I drew my fingertips up and down her stomach, her body already again reacting to my touch.
It wasn’t long until El had me pinned below her, her turn to straddle my own waist. Although, when I grabbed for her wrist to tell her I wanted her she pulled back. Sitting up she spread me wide and settled herself against me.
